I love it when I get a girl trying to scam me. I always play along. I “wire” the money to them right away. And send a photo of the receipt etc. But never send the money. I then say I sent you $5000 dollars why didn’t you get it? Go back to the bank ! Drives them crazy trying to get the cash.

    # 4: This happened to me in Thailand. A lady I was seeing messaged me saying she was pregnant. Said she was 100% SURE I was the father. When I said the child could not be mine, she threatened to go to police & immigration if I didn’t cough up money for an abortion. That conversation was shut down hard when I messaged her an image of my vasectomy certificate.
    VASECTOMY…350 dollars
    PLANE TICKET ….800 dollars
    MONTHLY LIVING EXPENSES ….2000 dollars
Not EVER having to worry about getting anyone pregnant-PRICELESS. There’s some things money can’t buy, for everything else, there’s Mastercard.

If you ever plan on building a home in the Philippines Never put the land in anyone's name. Your better off going through a lawyer to help and lease the land for 10-25 years. That way if something should ever happen between you two she can't take possession of the property and kick you out. If you plan on taking her back to your home country and property you own have it put in your son or daughters name. Again you can have a lawyer set it up to where your leasing the land from your child. That way you don't have to worry about your kids having to pay any death tax. Also if your Filipino wife gets westernize she can't divorce you and take your home. I have never met a women to ever keep their word. When they are with you they say they would never do anything to hurt you until you or they break-up with you. That's when all they want to do is hurt you. Protect yourself at all cost.

A foreigner should never buy land in the Philippines with his wife. EVER. You are just asking to get screwed over in a big way. Seen it many times. I am seeing it right now with a good friend of mine who is in the Philippines. You might be ok getting a condo in YOUR name, but never a house and land. The amount of scams in the Philippines is unreal at times, and many of these scams involve the Filipina's family.

I had some really bad experiences with both Filipinas and Thai until I looked for a girl already here in the UK. I am now 55 and my filipina wife is 43 and we have a wonderful 6 year old daughter. It just made more sense. Prior to that I had multiple scam relationships, even after to flying out and checking things out for myself. The families will play along with it all. Even if they are married the husband will go along with it and let you bonk his missus just to get money from a foreigner. Mike is right. They are smart AND patient.

I needed her credential to get me medical data (on a big gaming research project). We became good friends. About 5 years later she got divorced and we met for the first time. It was good for about 8 years (long distance, meeting a few times a year). We broke up ... I guess I wasn't good enough. Sometimes I can be demanding. I was heart broken. I was scammed by my fiancé from Cebu. After two years of Facebook chat, we met in Manila and traveled all over the Philippines together. Everything was great . This was in 2019. In 2020, I couldn’t return because of the pandemic. In 2021, I did a little research and discovered she became pregnant with a local. Fortunately I didn’t send her all that much money to help her along when Typhoon Odette struck Cebu . I’m thinking that she was groomed by her friends. Looks like scam #4 but her pregnancy was way after my visit with her. When I discovered who her boyfriend was, looking at his profile, I discovered their relationship.

Rule #1 for me is anyone from Angeles City is an instant deal breaker. Also, many scammers are slick but will reveal everything on Facebook and Instagram. There's nothing wrong with a little sleuthing. They do it too. And you're right Mike professional scammers regardless of wherever they're from have a sixth sense. They find a weakness and attack it. As soon as the red flags appear bail out and don't worry about hurting people's feelings. Cheers from Cebu City. :)

She never asked for a dime..Now, after 3 visits and more than 2 years living there. Two years away after the pandemic..chat everyday she has 2 houses..one older but sufficient, and one we live in. She has a newer car her daughter bought for here..Life is good..but, there are small sacrifices..her Auntie lives with us full time.. I do pay for our food and necessities and utilities. No rent. I live here 6 months to 9 months, then bail out back home in Michigan for summer and fall. I'm 67 and she is 55. I do think the younger gals scam older guys a lot more.. I have few online before my gal and could spot them in about a day or less of chatting. Good luck in the future.

Hello Mike and all the people reading these comments. Things I have seen in the Philippines… Back in 2006 when memory cards were relatively small it was necessary to go to the online cafés to remove your pictures from your camera cards onto a disk as a means of saving them. In the Internet cafés I saw many times very attractive women chatting their foreign boyfriends on messenger, but on the screen I would notice that they would be chatting about four at the same time. I’m sure the foreigners were not even aware of that but it made me think back to a time I was chatting A Filipina and during the chat I could tell that she was typing and her eyes would move to different parts of the screen so I am now aware of what was going on. I have more stories like this but I will break this up to another comment. By the way don’t hold Filipinas only in judgment of this because I am sure this happens around the world.

@@mikesphilippineretirement I was born and raised in Ohio. Met my current wife Online in 1998 - she was Chinese. Moved here (Hong Kong) to marry her and liked HK so much that coupled with the difficulty of taking a wife back to the states, my new plan became to live, grow old, and die right here in HK. She is 11 years older than I am, but she remains the very best woman I could ever hope for. Along the way, I've heard of numerous horror stories, as you yourself surely has. This last 25 years seems like such a vacation compared to my life in the states with its crime, guns, unthinking and uncaring citizens, and corruption that I wonder I didn't leave sooner. Additionally, the people around the world are generally so nice that it would be a terrible mistake to take my wife to the states where I would need to protect her 24-7 as she isn't used to that type of people. It's exhausting to think about. Now I'm 60 and yet carry that bit of America around with me everywhere - skeptical and untrusting to those I meet - it requires a conscious effort to behave like normal people. We did the right thing, brother - we got the F out of there and went someplace nicer. Congrats, my friend.

I met several girls online, before I visited there...a bunch of them claimed that they didn't actually reside in the major cities of either Cebu or Manila. Then, they would say that they needed "transportation" money, so they could come & meet you...The final step is of course, to convince you to wire your money to them. Most of them preferred you use the money wiring service available at the 7 elevens, I found. And of course, no one shows up to meet you

When it comes to the bottom of the barrel filipino scammers it is easy to protect yourself, since they have zero restraint and are using photos of sexy filipinas with big boobs in skimpy outfits. They will bombard you with loads of compliments about how good looking you are and how badly they want to meet you, and some 10 -15 minutes later they will ask you for that green. The tricky ones are the those who are using photos of real people and who are taking their time to suck you in, twisting and poisoning your mind to the point that you aren't listening to your friends or family and that you will be totally blind to reason and common sense.

If u think it is serious (you never really know until you know or it's too late) but you need to accept it if she has her own kids. Flip of a coin on mom's ... no need for dads or grandparents either. If she understands great maybe she is genuine, if she gets mad move on.

I had an older male friend who fell for a younger woman in a chat room. She lived in Russia and said she always wanted to be a veterinarian but couldn't afford the schooling. He ended up sending her money every month for several years. She would send him pics of her in a white lab coat, and similar photos, as "proof" she had gotten a job as a vet tech. Then, all of sudden, she decides she doesn't like that work, and wants to be something different, plus she can no longer afford her apartment. By this time, my friend had lost his job (it was 2008) yet she still insisted he continue to send her money or her life would be ruined. I kept telling him he was being scammed, but he wouldn't listen. It only sunk in -- when he could not longer afford his own apartment -- that he was a fool to keep sending her money. Sad. The thing is, this whole thing could have been fake, since it was all done over the Internet. It could have been some guys pretending to be a young woman, and they were doing a similar scam with several men at a time. We are living in strange times.

16:02 Being honest, you don't do it even after you arrived in the Philippines. I had a Thai GF, and she wasn't associated with the bar business, whatsoever. When I met her, she was working at the airport in Bangkok for 7 years, so she had a pretty solid job, and yet, she also mentioned the dowry and helping her family etc. One day, she suggested buying a house near the village she came from. I knew the law in Thailand, which is very similar to the Philippines when it comes to buying a property. I would have to buy it in her name. As naive as I am ... NOT, I refused it and told her, that I wouldn't buy anything if I can't buy in my name. The relationship didn't last very much longer after that. Not because she didn't want it anymore, but because I couldn't get it out of my head that my GF tried to scam me. She was assuring me that in case we split up, the house is mine, and will be sold, and I get the money. I thought to myself, yeah, right. I know their law, and I know, I would be sent packing so fast that my head would spin. I would never see the house or my money again. I don't have any experience with Filipinas, but something tells me, that it's pretty much the same as in Thailand. I refuse to invest, and live in the country where I'm basically someone's walking ATM, and where I basically don't have any rights other than the right to deliver my hard-earned cash to just about anyone who stretches his hand (from the top to the bottom).

Of course, there are always exceptions to the rule, but the risk of being scammed is simply too high, at least for me. I don't know if it's the same in the Philippines, but in Thailand the farangs (foreigners) have to pay farang prices for just about anything they buy. After a while of living in Thailand, I felt like everyone is trying to scam me (confirmed in most cases).

Her picture was great and she was beautiful, she was visiting in Nigeria and had lost her passport. She was asking for help so she could get a new one. Well, up till then I had no doubts, however, this gave me pause. So I started to pay attention and what I found out after reading her letters more carefully. It seemed that more than one person was writing, that she would never capitalize her "I". So, I became the Behaviorist that I am and started to check her out. What I found out was "she" wasn't a "she", instead was a "he" wanted by Interpol and the FBI. I never did help her, it just goes to show how one should never get lost in emotion.

Good stuff Mike. We got caught in a Ponzi scheme. The person was well known in the community and to my wife and had a good reputation as a church elder. I don't think her intent was to run a Ponzi but she couldn't live up to the returns eventually panic'd and risked it all on someone's scheme and lost everything. We were out a hundred thousand pesos but other people lost millions of pesos. In the aftermath, the woman's husband divorced her and she became a pariah in the community. Lesson learned: Do not go into business with any individual. Stick with well known and gov backed securities or 401k / IRA in your home country. That was 12 years ago but it seems like once every year or so there is a local news story on TV about an outrageous financial scandal rocking the community.

They are gonna take from outsiders to benefit their own kind. Just like we kill cows for steaks. We just had a conversation over breakfast. She said no wife gives husband money. I hooked her up with a cash job for over 3000/mth. To keep her honest, we agreed she would pay for her own gas, plate, her cell, and her share of utilities (all under my name). She considered she was feeding me lol. They come to the west to get maximum return to send home. Breaks my heard I treated her so good ... when time to split, I will send her with some money. The house is but the lot isn't, in order to retire in the Philippines you have to make a financial commitment of 10k so if what you spend on building the house isn't enough, you can prepare a lease agreement between you and your wife for a sum of money on a 50 year lease. Look into what is legal. When Mymy Said that she wanted a house I told I can't own the land so you pay for it and she did, she didn't necessarily like it, but she did it. There is an organized scamming going on where they coach girls. Basically, you are texting some guy or other scammer until you ask for videos or pictures. They have the pictures ready, and they set an appointment for the girl to do the video. They keep it going until she asks for money. The agreement is that she picks up the money in her name and gives a significant portion of the money to the scammers, and they continue to talking, using the same account with other men for more money.
Here is some advice. If you have an issue where you are talking to someone you want to 'help'. Such as get a passport, or assist with bills... try contacting an attorney or investigator in the country first. They can help with the bills or passport, and even confirm that she is genuine.

Well, the lesson of this video is: if you aren't NEEDY, you won't get scammed. If you have your financial life set up well, you can travel the world and go on dates with women and tell them you don't want to get married or have a long term commitment. When they start becoming a burden to you, you ghost them and go on to the next woman.

I was tempted earlier today with a Filipina, a widow, who within a few minutes of messages answered she couldn't talk (instead of messaging) because she had pawned her phone to pay bills. After a few more minutes of messaging, I mentioned that we could probably Facetime or Skype with the laptop or computer she was using and she then told me the camera and microphone were broken and then sent me a picture of a pawn shop receipt for a pawned Iphone. I never mentioned any money or offered to bail her phone out and she didn't ask or mention money again but we're supposed to message again so this can be interesting. Meanwhile, I did a little research and cannot find this pawn shop shown on the claim ticket because part of the address is apparently fake. I was able to find a pawn shop with the same name on the receipt but only part of the address is correct. Her pictures were so great and her dialogue so good that I did have thoughts of volunteering to redeem her phone but I realized there was a good chance she was scamming me and now that I've had more time to think about it and do a little sleuthing, I'm glad I didn't act on my emotions. Good luck out there and thank you for the examples !

Since the majority of people here in the Philippines are fall under the poverty category you'll find that most women here have the same sop story. And it all has to do with the lack of money. If you're patient enough and manage to date more than one girl here you'll find that the one girl you thought was unique is no different than the last one you dated. Don't get me wrong, there are women here who truly can make a good girlfriend or wife but you need to realize that the common denominator they all have is the search for financial help.

Hello Mike, this is the second comment for your viewers. Back in 2007 I went to the Philippines to meet with my fiancé… Wow there we walked past a nippa Hut just down the road from her parents house. She pointed it out to me and explained that in that hot was a woman who had a good Internet connection and about for computer stations. She would bring young girls in there of age and help them to chat with foreigners. She explained that most of these girls could not speak any English so that while the camera was viewing the young ladies the one actually typing and chatting with the foreigners was the lady that owned the small Internet café. My fiancé also explained that the Internet café lady would get 50% of the money that would be sent to the Filipinas as a result from their chatting. I have also seen with my own eyes the lady boys chatting with the foreign dudes, and I am 100% sure that they were not aware they were chatting with what was in reality a man. Again I will break this off as not make this comment to Long and will start yet another comment.

im very lucky to have found a really good woman . we talked for 2 years then i spent a month with her now we are engaged and ive sent the k1 visa petition . she owns her own home , but hasn,t had a job since the pandemic began . and of course im more than happy to support her . i did my research about scamming in the beginning of our relationship and it is very difficult to trust someone before you meet them in person . life is hard enough even when 2 people are fully committed to each other . there has to be a level of trust for any relationship to work . im planing on going back over this spring or summer to help her renovate her house to get it ready to sell . there are many pitfalls and things to worry about , but all i can do is take it one day at a time and try to not discouraged .

This is really good and honest video, Ive been scammed loads of times, nany times i think by Filipinas that didn't set out to scam me, but after family found out about relationship with foreign guy . I was in relationship with Filiina nearly 2 years, she obly started scamming me after year or more, im certain it was driven by family, they had more control over her than i realised . Family didn't care if relationship failed, they think short term gain, and anyway they think if it does, she can go online find another. Some family bonds and obligations are stronger than westerners can imagine.
