Jack applying for security guard is me applying for being a nanny while I am a graduate from STEM courses and spend all my life not comfortable with children.
"Being an adult is being on hold" exactly, Jack. As a certified adult at 26 years of age, I cannot stress enough that everything takes ages and I'm constantly overwhelmed, you nailed it✌
11:08 i would pay money for knowing what it felt like to be that stranger, just looking in a window and accidentally get eye contact with a guy wearing a chief’s hat and holding a plate of a burger in front of a camera. oh, i’m thinking of you, lovely stranger
I love how you share about your rejections as I am going through something like that myself. Everytime, something doesn't work out, I feel as if a whole lot of my time got wasted. But then, I remind myself that isn't true. Being rejected is better than not applying at all. All we need is just one acceptance. Kudos to progress. 👍👍
Honestly jack, I feel ya. Graduated my masters this year and I'm still at home just trying to freaking job search. I was hoping to gain work experience once I graduated by doing a few weeks unpaid in different companies but obvs that went out the window. So now I'm having to job search with no experience, during a pandemic . Fun times. But yeah my friends are already working and putting down deposits for houses with partners and I'm just like 🙃🙃🙃🤡
i also just finished my undergrad and im so scared i wont be able to find a grad job starting next year :( i want to move out so much because my family life isnt 100% great (but i can still survive here)
I really appreciate you talking about your journey with job applications - I graduated this year too and am applying for jobs but haven't got anywhere yet so you really made me feel a bit better about things :)
Ah the job search!!! Thank you indeed! I got another rejection yesterday and broke down... sometimes it gets to you BUT not giving up! We will get there 🙏🏼
I can relate to your grief... some days ago I somehow decided it'd be a good idea to put my glasses on the floor whilst working out... took a step to the side and felt them ~crunch~ under my foot. RIP glasses, you'll always be remembered.
I've got a laptop with a touchscreen as well, and yeah, it's useful, but you better not break it, cause the cost of repair is PAINFUL to say the least. Another thing about adulthood - it hurts your soul whenever you need to spend any money. ;p
Im 17 and i currently disagree When i was younger it hurt me to spend cos i didn't have much to spend. Now i have a job and actually have an income im more willing to spend. I feel like adults would spend 20 quid on a top but to me that is huge uno

You're 22, oh boy, i'm 25 and still a certified mess. I've moved through no word period to juggling 4 jobs while not making nearly enough to even aford to move out from my parents. You're doing fine, Jack, believe me.
I’d definitely make an excel sheet with key dates and deadlines for applications. Also join group chats of other grads to find out what test providers are used during recruitment & then just join all the online events companies offer. Good morning! It's actually 5.45am so spot on :) Ooh treats. I never leave them near me if I know I'll be there for a while. Best management trick is having my cat's fav blanket on my lap. Once she's settled and purring no way am I disrupting her rest to get a treat.
Thank you for being so honest about the difficulties you're facing with finding a graduate job in 2020... we're all going through it! Best of luck with the job search :)

OH MY GOD we had the same issue with our wifi too. Moved in August 15th and was originally going to get our wifi on the 24th... we got our wifi on the 24th OF SEPTEMBER. It’s so infuriating when the hold messages tell you to ‘go online’ when you literally can’t!!!!! I’ve been applying for jobs too since August too (2020 psychology graduate) and I *hopefully* have finally secured one. Keep at it we can do it!!

Great video as always! Jack, I really really feel for you. The pandemic hit and that was the first time I was actually forced to take a break, which Ironically was a lifesaver for me! Anyway, the constant rejections are so demoralizing and pressure to be productive is extreme. I realized that I don’t think I am anyone unless I work, which is super concerning... You will get through this, and whoever hires you will be extremely lucky to have you! Appreciate all the honesty!
I cant get over how much you look, sound and act like one of my years form tutors . He looks like you with your natural hair but he looks like a clone of you and i just really needed to say that .
