I want to share my review of the Fantastic Vent 3350 because my experience with the fan is anything but fantastic. I bought mine 18 months ago, as friends, who have an older model, said it was very good. However mine makes a lot of noise and pushes so little air that I can barely tell if I have it set to exhaust or blow. If I turn it up to get more airflow it becomes even noiser! The rain sensor closes the vent at night so I can only assume that it senses the night time moisture and closes even though it is NOT raining. My friend's older model seems to push more air than my newer model. I get much better & quieter airflow from my little Sirocco fan and it was only $!60 not over $600. Dometic agreed to replace the fan and the airflow improved a little but it is still very noisy AND the rain sensor closes the fan at really odd times like late afternoon. So we can't use the fan unless we manually open the cover. So in summary, I have found it an appallingly poor performing fan that is just not worth the money.
I have had 2 fantastic fans and they were both whisper quiet. You really should put a hood on the fan on the roof top. It will stop rain and night dew from getting in. I feel that I must be able to run my fans in the rain.
I have two higher end Fantastic Fans and like them a lot. I have played with the Max Air. The MaxxAir does have more speeds but I did some research and the extra speeds are irrelevant based on CFM between speeds so it makes little difference. I would suggest getting the different model of Fantastic Fan which I believe is less money. The fantastic fan is less than the MaxxAir too I believe. Mine have a remote option; however, I did not want that. It has auto thermostat and will open and close automatically, It has the rain sense and reversible. I like that model because it has a series of controls that are manually accessible.
We have a MaxxAir and love it. It is quiet. Ours did not have the rain cover, but I added one last year and it works great. Always enjoy your videos. Y'all should come East. We have some great camping in Tennessee. Let me know if you are ever in the area.
It would be interesting to get an update on this later, some people have complained about rust on the panel for the maxxfan because it’s metal. I still lean toward the maxxfan though, as well. Doing research for my class c right now.
I can't seem to find any reviews of the maxx air fans online, only on TH-cam. We purchased the deluxe model and it has been nothing but problems. Tv remotes set it off randomly. (All remotes we have tried) The motor squeaks making it unbearable. The blades are obviously not spinning balanced and it's not an issue with the screw holding the blade on, it's a motor issue. No word back from maxx air. Heard they are good. The supplier in New Zealand wanted us to bring our house truck in to look at it which was completely unfeasible. So we are stuck with a massive hole in our wallet and a completely useless product. Wouldn't buy it if I saw real reviews anywhere.
What about the whining sound on the fantastic fan. I thought it interesting it wasn't mentioned. The original fantastic fan was quite, new is garbage. How quiet is Maxx air? Great video don't be afraid to give honest opinions.
I just installed Maxxair deluxe. But I am having problems getting it to stay running. It ran for two minutes after install and shut lid by itself and stopped. I guess upon reading the reviews the problem that many have is their RV might have solar panels on top and your DC voltage can be a point higher than 12 V. Well the Maxxair seems to not work well if your RV is like mine with solar. So now I don't know what to do. I guess some are putting a voltage regulator on the wiring on fan and it is saving them having to tear it out and buy another brand. Amy advice out there would be appreciated.
Does anyone make a reliable, durable, quiet fan with manual controls and crank with just three speeds? Everything I have described is cheap and you find them poop out in a season as well as being unbalanced.
If you get a clear cover for a fan to be able to look at the sky, then people would be able to see inside whenever they are higher than you are (inside a building, on a bridge, etc).

Good to hear Stacy, if I am ever out that direction I will let you know.
Thanks for the comparison, it’ll help in my decision on an up coming upgrade.
Glad to help!

We bought a maxxfan and it's been nothing but issues. For the cost it us utter garbage.
I have my fans opposite of yours. My maxxair is in my bathroom and I love the green auto light. It’s like a night light in my bathroom.
Question. How are you liking the Max fan after a year or so? Thank you for this helpful review of both fans

Same thing! This will be my 3rd circuit board replacement! More than 3 months waiting period.
The fantastic fan link in the description says
SORRY WE CAN'T FIND THIS PAGE
Thank you for educating us newbies.😊
Which is the most quite one at low speed? Thank you!
You mean quiet.
Looks like a Micro Minnie 2108DS ... that is very helpful as it the same model as ours.
Can you see the night sky when it's dark, I want to open my vent and see the stars xx
Maxx Air is the mark Fantastic is reaching for🌬️🌬️😉
Hy. On Maxxfan you have a button for just opening/closing even when turned off🙂
I’m trying to do this to my truck cap to cool the cap down.

Great review, thank you.
Glad to help Tom
Very helpful. Thanks

You need to install a small 12 volt voltage regulator, then you will have no issues, there are TH-cam videos on this
@@pocketchange1951- Shocked Maxxair does not have a built in voltage regulator, considering tons of people are using these with solar.
Are the plastics used the same?
Is one housing heftier than the other?
Trying to decide on which model

Is it Fantas tik fan model from Demico manufacturer?
Good job 👍🏻
How many watts does each pull on each setting?
That is a good question. I will hook up a meter and compare.
@@TheSavvyCampers I appreciate it and look forward to the results!
@@branchofrelity4746 been nothing but crickets for 6 whole months - no results
Disappointing
@@1FAST91SONOMA you should ask for your money back and look it up online
Having had both maxxair is definitely better hated to remote for the fantastic and also not stable rattles n too noisy

Good point!
Ooooooookkkk….
Maxxfan has circuit board issues
wont if you coat the PCB before install
@@1FAST91SONOMA How ?
@@PrettyGoodLookin You spray the board. Just cover the connections ports prior to spraying. Makes it water proof.
@@lrndspirit5567 With what spray ?
@@PrettyGoodLookin something like this OB41 Silicone Lubricating Spray
