  • Install of a generic cold air intake (CAI) on a 2003 Chevy Tahoe Z71 with a 5.3L engine. This installation video also applies to 99-06 Chevrolet Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban Avalanche and GMC Sierra, Yukon as well as Cadillac Escalade vehicles.
Most of these kits do NOT come with instructions, so I hope you find this video helpful!
    Thanks for watching.

If I was going to install this intake, I would attach the intake tube to the factory air box, so I’m not sucking in hot engine bay heat in losing power.

Changes? In performance? I really haven't noticed a difference in performance, but I drive like an old man. It is louder than stock (obviously), but not terrible. I've pulled a trailer hauling lumber twice (less than 3000lbs) with this intake and it pulled well. When the torque converter unlocks, the intake is pretty loud, until the transmission downshifts to 3rd, then noise isn't bad at all.
      Overall, it's a decent kit for $70.
