    Man, glad I didn't use this video to replace my sender! I unhooked the fuel line with the special tool and was able to reach back there and R&R my sender, took about 30 minutes total

    Lol! $18 for the sensor on eBay. Take top plastic cover off. Reach behind and to the right on motor. Remove plug. 1&1/16 socket with an extension will remove old one. Put new one in the hole and plug back up. Just did mine in about 20 min. You can use this vid to see what it is you are feeling for, but you DO NOT need to remove all that. Bought the socket from advance for $14

    Bro you don’t need to take all that off. Two swivels and you’re good. 20 minute job total.

    He did this the hard way . If you disconnect the brake vacuum line you can get a socket ,8inch extension, and a flex head ratchet on it. Use a bolt to get out the screen if it gots one. 30 minutes

    Are "sensor" and "sender" used interchangeably to refer to this part?

    Since these oil pressure sensors seem to fail often, replace it with a pipe to a more accessible place & put the sensor on the end?

  • @samsen201
    @samsen201 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Mine is exactly like this and dam thing sending error message once in a while in middle of driving with very annoying chime and zero oil pressure. But comes back to function later on.
    Too much work for lazy me. Is there a way to go directly from above and without removing the intake change the sensor ?
    Otherwise what do I lose if I continue to drive as is, knowing its only a false alarm? Will I hurt anything else?
    Thanks,

    Is it possible to get a list of all things to replace while the manifold is off besides the gasket?

    • @robertowen1648
      @robertowen1648 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it ain't broke don't screw with it. What the hell would you need a list of things to replace that aren't broken just because something specifically needs replacing?

    Literally took 10 minutes, do not remove all that stuff, reach around back or use your phone to find it, I used the deep 1 1/16 socket, a swivel and a 8” extension and had it done in 10 min

    Why would you remove all that to remove the oil pressure sensor

  • @Poncedeleon84
    @Poncedeleon84 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    This is why mechanic shops charge an arm and a leg because of all this unnecessary work, I changed mine out all I did was reach through the back and only took me 5 minutes and only $40

    You got to be kidding me! All that had to be done after removing the engine cover was remove the primary fuel line that feeds the fuel rails! All those wasted steps and time plus risk of potentially damaging the intake manifold and crap getting into it after pulling it out just because of not wanting to reach back to get to the sensor and working in a little awkward position. Wow.

      You can work around the intake it just sucks. Just did one and be sure you have at least 2 6 inch extensions.
