Amazing to think that the cube's designs aren't just random and artistic. There are hidden pictures, meanings and warnings all over it.
That's because they're not puzzles, they're keys, so they have to be labeled.

This is a poor joke but what was the point of the warnings when they weren't obvious :) was it a "Well we did warn you. Glad you opened the box but our disclaimer is, we did warn you. Yes, wasn't obvious but they were still warnings".

Wow, amazing little insight into a fascinating subect. To me anyway. I dream of the day Hellraiser gets a remake with the most incredible effects and directed by someone like Guillermo del Toro with the darkest and most adult oriented treatment.

for my 17th birthday my aunt got me a chinese puzzle box jewelry box where you had to do a few things to open it up back in the 70's from los angeles china town.

Unfortunately, 666 is a typo. It was found a decade or so ago that a monk, when copying a manuscript, either copied the number incorrectly or changed it on purpose. In the older manuscripts, the number of the beast is 616.

awww. i met simon a while back ago. we talked as much as we reasonable could, all the way till the end. our discussions inspired him to mske a box closer to thst of the book. complete with his own blood and bones. they're out there, im not sure how many though. so, anyhow someone out there is willing to take your money to give you, what has always been yours.... mwahahaha.

I used the box as my inspiration back when I was 12 with the combinaton of the Book of the Damned with Phillip LeMarchand....I would wish this was consistent....yeah I was a dark child...!

It's strong. He used gorilla glue brand. It'll hold even the forces of hell.

Im a big fan of the hellraiser and phantasm films , besides theyre occult subject matter these films push the imagination into the possibilities of the unknown worlds of horror
and being a hammer film fan as well , horror done right is very appealing to me.

I always wanted to know what the symbols were all about. I didn't want to think they were just pretty random shapes. Something like the Lament Configuration Box needed to have specific meaning in such things.
The "Engineer" cut by the box "Star configuration?" I need to get a box with moving parts. Note: The "Engineer" from Hellraiser (first movie) not of the "Inferno" movie (? but maybe with no form like that in that movie)!

The Lament configuration wasn't designed by the toymaker. The box was commissioned and designed by Duc de L'Isle (See Hellraiser : Bloodline) It was first opened by Phillip LeMarchand the toymaker. Before before Phillip LeMarchand delivers the box to Duc de L'Isle his wife asks him how the box works and he opens it and nothing happens and she laughs. (why?) There is no way the design could have been in the toymakers blood when it wasn't even his design. He was only the builder. ( Hellraiser :bloodlines plot obliterated) If the design had been in Phillip LeMarchand's blood it would have summoned the cenobites when he opened it the first time but didn't so it wasn't.

In the book, the box is nowhere near as impressive as it is in the film. In the book, the box has a smooth surface, with a very small etching on one of its sides, but shows the faces of its victims when light reflects on its surfaces. In the book, the box is described as being made out of human fat and human bones.

Blaze Sierra. Simon was undergoing treatment for cancer when he found the strength to do this interview. The dry mouth was a symptom of his treatment. Sadly he passed away
