To watch a 165lb dog get down on his belly to play with a 2lb ferret and let him eat and drink out of his bowls was amazing. Hobbes would throw himself into Diesels mouth like he had a death wish or harass him until he laid down so he could climb up and ride and then pass out together in the sun. One of my fondest memories of them was seeing Diesel, with Mr. Hobbes on his back, towing my 16yr. old on a skateboard, just cruising around on "a walk" 😂 We have adopted 3 dogs since Diesel has passed, but I haven't had the heart to get another ferret. He was my emotional support animal before it was a mainstream thing. He went almost everywhere with me. He and my Dumbo ear rat before him, Ray Ray, back in the early 90's. She went everywhere with me except on military deployment, if I was home, she was in my hoodie.
