Roxie leading her babies to the house looks much like one of us taking our kids out to see wildlife. Now kids, these humans seem TAME, but they need to spend most of the day in their enclosure.
😂
I had the same thought haha like a introduction "These animals are called 'humans' and these subjects are very friendly, but still need to be treated with caution. Most of these creatures are dangerous and you must run from them."
I love it!!!
@@davidgreg6907You should come to the real US! Texas is our nation’s halfway house.

Roxie probably: "Only one in your litter? Hope you have a better luck next year." 😄
Oh, I can so see that! “Tough winter, huh?”

LOL😂
They can be so sweet. Many years ago, we heard a scratching at our back door. Opened it to find a young, pregnant female raccoon who had obviously seen some rough times - she was blind in one eye and had several visible scars. We fed her - she was asking for help. And when the babies were born, she brought them to us as well. For about 6 years, we met each new brood. They would come and sleep in the sun on our back deck and made us laugh so often with their wrestling and tumbling about. We missed her so much when she didn't return for a 7th year. We never names any of the younglings, but we always called her our Bebe.
Aww. 🥹
Bebe 🦝🐾
This story tugged at my heartstrings. 💘✨
Such a sweet story 😊
that was kind of you.
Saying she shouldn't feed then gives it a 5 course meal 😂
Wait til it's got rabies
Those racoon's hands on the glass door..so precious ❤
🐾
0:45 Her dog: You never give me grapes. 😢
Owner: For good reasons.
Isn't it poisonous for them, in large doses?
Yes, grapes are toxic for dogs! Never feed them to your dog!
@TalEdds Oh I didn't know that! I never gave them to my dog, but it's good to know! Thank you! 😊❤💯
@TalEdds yes they are. But not only large doses. Any amount can make them unwell. If a dog eats even one grape it's advised to call the vet.
@@IshiyAnime Dogs won't eat grapes, animals avoid stuff that's harmful to them, that's how they've survived.
What an amazing friendship! One you don't hear of everyday. Thank you for taking care of this racoon and her family. If everyone could be like you, the world would be a better place for the animals.
I love that they share and appreciate each other's children.
Raccoons can be very sweet and trusting animals.
I believe most "wild" animals can be this way if they are treated with respect.
Raccoons did not occur west of the Rockies prior to westward expansion. The raccoons followed the pioneers west because of the vittles.
@@eugenedanker2377 With respect... and food.

We put food out for the feral cats in the area, and the wildlife eat whatever is left overnight. We had two raccoon moms last year. Always curious how many families we'll see each spring.
In the case of the cats you can actually do something about that though wildlife is wildlife so raccoons stay outside but “feral” cats can be turned into regular cats and you should definitely do that loo
Cat rescue people told me you cant do that with adult feral cats..i did catch like 9 males including 3 young ones and got them fixed. They fight over females, food and territory. Those young ones i kept in my front yard. I have dogs so i cant bring them in, but i provide food and shelter for them. They trust us now but won't let us pet them. They run away @pavloszimbrakos4410
They will continue to come back, especially knowing there is food!! That's awesome you do that
Awesome about the wildlife not the feral cats, we have issues with that in my neighborhood. Feral cats everywhere having litters all over yet people keep feeding them….
@@diazce95 Does your Town/County not have a TNR program?? That can be controlled.
Natures way of reminding us it is ok to have a heart.
Plus a family of Racoons to bond with. How lucky. There's a video roughly the same on TH-cam but it's Roe Deer that come to the door. See if you can find the video where a Golden Retriever befriends a Red Squirrel l. That's the best one I've saw yet.
When I rented a house, there were 3 raccoons that would come & peer in the windows..I called them Peepers, Jeepers & Creepers. I'd feed them & then they brought their babies to visit scampering in & out between my feet. It was so cute to watch them.
okay but the names are so iconic omg
Wow that is a very special bond! Rosie knows she is safe there so she will continue to stay there, and her babies will end up staying around that area❤ Her daughter will grow up and appreciate our wild critters in a special way

Such a compliment from Mommy Raccoon to her human pals to show off her babies! So Precious🐾🐾💞
🦝That little nose scrunch when she chomps is freaking adorable🦝😍❤🧡💜
I was extremely lucky to raise 4 baby raccoons when their mother died. It was the most amazing experience of my life. Bottle feedings teaching them to climb trees. Watching videos like this brings back fond memories for me. At one point they knew it was time to leave and explore the world. I grew up in a 500,000 acre ranch. So no local police or nosy neighbors complaining.
They were incredibly smart and they LOVED vanilla wafflers. They would dip them in water. And afterwards they would wash their hands in water like humans do. They figured out how to work through locks. They saw how we used our hands and did the locks in the same way. Raccoons are extremely intelligent. If I could raise another set of raccoons, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
I understand completely, I miss my babies to this day. Dan
Yes! Unfortunately they have short lives, can you imagine if they lived 60-80 years😱.. I'm waiting for mine to come up on my deck
.
Raising your baby in a wonderful way - brilliant!
This is just amazing. Two mothers introducing their babies and spending some time together. Nature is beautiful :D
Yea until it goes rabid and starts attacking your 2 year old 🤦♂️
exactly
at least part of them always knows their true origin now
imagine this keeps on going for generations
This is so fucking dumb. She had a chance to simply not interact with the raccoon and scare it away to teach it that its source of food is no longer from human hands. Now she's taught generations upon generations of raccoons in that area that it's okay to approach humans and see them as safe. That's _not_ good for them and this shouldn't be encouraged. Not only that, you don't let your 1 year old child hand feed them. They are still wild animals and a baby's behavior can startle them for whatever reason. One of them could be in the early stages of rabies or distemper and after the baby hand feeds the raccoon, its saliva is now on the baby's hand, and then the baby puts its hand in its own mouth. It's just so, so irresponsible. People _have_ to stop treating wild animals like pets, and at the very least, stop subjecting their children to the dangers of them.
@dismalrealms3587
I was looking for this comment, I came across a rabbit skunk few weeks ago. Took abt 4 shots before it stopped running. Pretty rare in my area tho.

She's building an army.
Thank you so much for continuing to feed her. Beautiful story!!!!!
I love Racoons. Had 1 fall through a hole in my ceiling in the kitchen where I had not put a new vent hood up yet. Heard one night a sound in my kitchen went in there saw a bread pan on the floor that fell off my stove. So reach down to pick it up and it moved so I moved it a little and a paw came out. Pulled it off and picked up a baby racoon. Got a baby bottle out and fed him til he was able to eat solid food. So I let loose out side. Now he comes up every night for food I leave on a table . I see him come up with 3 to 4 more at times. I just watch them through my window. Wish he still came to me but glad I let him go.
👏😻👍Good on you for not exploiting the situation! I'm very proud of you for doing the right thing & not keeping them/ using them to make a "funny video" for attention online 🥇🏆🥇
You're very sweet to do that.
Thank u for keeping Roxie safe and for continuing this amazing friendship 🙏🏻💙🎗️
What a cute raccoon. And this lady trusted the raccoon and was always there with her child and I think it's a great way to teach kids about nature

What a wonderful thing to watch. Just 2 mums sharing their babies with eachother. It doesn't matter one is human and one is an animal...being a mother is the same. All of your babies are so lucky to have you as mums ❤🙌🙏
We humans are also animals that share our mammalian genes with other mammals even marine mammals. I once visited a marine mammal rehab center and held flippers with a seal, I could feel it's human like hand under it's skin covering. All mammals including us, share an ancient common ancestor. 😀
Aww so sweet 2 moms hanging. Out ❤❤❤
What's remarkable & beautiful is how the raccoons demeanor changes & becomes parental & maternal when the baby feeds the raccoons!
Not all that remarkable since all mammals have similar caring instincts
Roxie is a baby making machine 😮
I had always heard negative things about raccoons and their ability to get in where they aren’t wanted. Just goes to show, it’s always good to get another opinion, first handed! Thanks for sharing. They are cute, aren’t they? I hope they stay well behaved!

on so many levels
Feeding the first raccoon was already not necessary it seems like, but teaching multiple generations of its offspring to rely on and seek humans out for food is going to create future problems.
@@robertsimon-kroppmanns7287 Except we do far more harm than good to nature, so the least we can do is feed its creatures. Might as well say not to feed homeless people.
Shove off. We constantly destroy nature and nonhumans. The least we can do is feed these animals, especially when they lose much of their natural food sources because of us.

This is so sweet n beautiful. Thank you so so so very much for this..
I love feeding raccoons they're so amazing, always feed wild life, always, survival is hard as it is
As adorable as this may appear, this behavior is extremely irrational and dangerous. Those raccoons are not kittens. They are wild animals governed by instinct survival instinct…. Those animals could possibly have rabies or ticks that carry Lyme disease or could behave violently by what they perceive his threatening behavior…. Even people with veterinarian knowledge or veterinarians themselves wouldn’t advise this behavior nonetheless have them around the children babies actually.😢
I love all of this!!!! And I love that Roxie's Grandkids have been brought for a visit!!! What a fun dynamic!

Having lived in the mountains for a lot of years, I became acquainted with many wild animals including raccoons. It's not wise to feed them or to allow young children around them. They can be very vicious and destructive. They are really cute to watch BUT they are wild animals! ❤

That is the CUTEST thing EVER !!! oh MY GOODNESS, lol she comes with her babies and then she meets your child, so adorable !!
“You really shouldn’t feed wildlife.”
-Proceeds to feed wildlife.😂😂🤣👍
"You shouldn't feed wildlife, but it's okay for me, I have special reasons." Here's the truth: It's okay to feed wildlife. Just remember that as you befriend an animal that you also know that you are partially responsible for it too. Just like with pets which require almost 100% human care, a wild animal you befriend will trust you and you have a responsibility for that trust. Notice it's always those people who are actively interacting with wildlife, feeding and petting and so on, who will tell everyone else they shouldn't. It's hypocritical and a form of superiority. It's okay to feed wildlife, just be aware of their needs and the dangers - like getting bitten. If you feel it's wrong to feed or befriend a wild animal, don't do it! But let everyone else make up their own minds.
I've got a wildlife degree and wouldn't advise to feed wild critters, but sometimes circumstances arise that you do. It's not always hypocrisy to tell people not to do something you do. Sometimes, it's experience. I have raised Guinea pigs and horses and told people not to get those animals because they take lots of work, time and money, and a myriad of other reasons. I've advised certain people not to get a cat or a dog for some of the same reasons. It seems only Roxie and her 1 daughter are visiting, not a hoard of raccoons, so the majority are retaining stay away from humans, and no property damage is seemingly being done. So enjoy the video and stop preaching. Sometimes hypocrisy is fun.
What if you know it’s against the law to feed animals? This lady said she is feeding the raccoon because “the raccoon has already become dependant on humans feeding her”. She said it clearly and she seems to be doing a great job.
At this point , humans had messed up so much animal habitats that we NEED to help them now.
This doesn't actually help, even she literally said, "You really shouldn't feed wildlife." It desensitizes them to humans/ pets & can be a death sentence. Feeding inappropriate/ contaminated food can cause illness or even kill them. We transmit diseases/ illness to each other. Habituating them to people can cause them to approach unsuspecting people looking for food/ attention & they may think that they have Rabies bc of their unusual behavior and call the authorities to deal with them (read: murder them to be on the safe side). This is why it's federally illegal in the USA.
Another beautiful story between human. and animal this is another one to go down on the books. God bless be safe ❤
Those littlest babies certainly will depend on you for the lack of food in the wild. Those little one's certainly would make it without you. Blessings✨to you for taking care of Roxie and her babies.
