I am Papua, and bird of paradise is a symbol of our pride, really we really appreciate the team that has documented the beauty of the bird of paradise, thank you for saying good luck always.
It's very honor to your region. I'm also Indonesian. And I know some bird in Papua that like paradise bird, it is cendrawasih bird. I hope Papua is always luck and always be beauty of diversity in Indonesia.
Beautiful and fascinating birds. Loved the explanation of the court needing a horizontal perch, and the efforts made to get the female POV.
8 years? That's a true labor of love. Kudos to you guys!
Wow. Nature and its mysterious beauty! I hope these birds are still around for future generations to marvel and appreciate. Thank you nat geo
Really awesome 8-year works by dedicated team members
Best 28 minutes of my life!!!!!!! Never though ornithology was a thing, and even more so that I would be so thrilled about it!!!!🐥🐦
Greeting from West borneo
EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL BIRDS.
Evolution is amazing and you can see it everywhere you look.
This is why we subscribe to you NatGeo! Not because of 3D animations! More videos like this, and get rid of the 3D rendering.
Is that all animations?
@@geigergrow6702not cgi thats pure NATURE

What a joy to watch! Unlike some, I appreciated both men explaining what was being filmed. There are lots of photos and videos that just show 'pretty' shots but for us truly interested in learning more, it's equally important to be able to read or listen to what we see. It definitely enhances our enjoyment of the film.
I wondered too about the pins they had on until I saw that one male bird displaying. :) Cool pin!
Watched the whole thing, amazing talent with all these images and tremendous patience
Truly incredible. Words really can't express how amazing and wonderful these birds are. I do wonder why the female birds care so much that the males would have such extreme and unique adaptations.
amazing. thank you guys Tim Laman & Ed Scholes for your hard work.

The Ed and Tim Show! Good stuff, and I like their Superb bird of paradise pins on their jackets! The feathers and colors, the songs, the dances/displays, the otherworldly sounds...Birds of Paradise are kind of INSANE!! (Plus, those ground-displaying birds are better housekeepers than I am!)

With this kind of videos I think that is the time to sort them out to enjoy a part of what our beautiful world can to offer for us! .
I was lucky enough to travel to West Papua, New Guinea to Scuba Dive the Raja Ampat Islands January, 2016. That was an incredible experience in itself. One of my goals was to photograph the Red Bird of Paradise. It was in Besir that we anchored and procured a guide from the village to take us to a place high up in the forest before sunrise to see this spectacular bird. Unfortunately the bird was back lit and pretty far away and no female came. So, this one opportunity that resulted in mediocre photos even though I used a Canon 70D and a 300mm telephoto lens, the backlight skunked me. I certainly appreciate the efforts and research it took to take these amazing photos and video. I loved watching this video and learning a few facts about this bird and other majestic Birds of Paradise.
do u have any tips we wanna go dive there too and i want to photograph the six ploamed bird of paradise
Dam
Did you took a photo shoot in there?
West papua is Indonesia, not New Guinea
