    I have a 2019 ftr1200S model had cold starting issues stalling out at times no gray area in the throttle, sent my ECU to Ryan Lloyd’s in North Carolina Indian dealership and I have no issues at all and it runs oh so much better and no hot motor issues either I did remove the catalyst converter and installed a S&S pipe but went back to stock pipes, just was too loud, but I’m having so much fun riding this things, everything that people complain about I love it makes it special, I rode from Maryland to Arizona and back with only 2 problems, the seat sucks but I bought an airhawk to sit on and the gas tank is so small and takes forever to fill but other than that it’s perfect

      Ya I wish the tank was bigger! I know it’s not meant to be long trips but ya would be fun.

      I don’t know about yours but it takes me awhile to fill the tank just really slow and my seat sucks real bad

      I haven’t minded the seat but I’ve only done like 120 mile days on it.
      If I was keeping this loaner I would be doing a saddlemen like my other bikes.
      It doesn’t take too long to fill up for me o think it would be easier if I wasn’t in Cali our pumps here suck

      Yeah just riding local is a pain to fill it up have to do it real real real slow and like I said the seat sucks and I’ve tried them all , I just installed a sattleman seat but haven’t been riding yet , just sitting on it feels so much better, like I said I rode it across country once just because everyone said I couldn’t and after sitting on the air hawk I didn’t have any issues,I installed a tail rack and bungee corded my suit case to it , I love this bike

    Great Review. I've had '22 Carbon for 9 months now. I've done every mod you mentioned, and the bike is amazing, The tune and decatted exhaust make the torque and sound addictive. When the Metzlers wore out I put Michelin road6 tire on it, and it feels like a World Class Motorcycle.I Run in Sport mode always and I'm too old to ride wheelies so I scoot way up when I get on it. Makes this old man smile like a teenager every time I ride.

    the general rule is to drop your left foot so you still have rear braking if you need it. This means you have to stop in gear. I always stop in gear due to the fear of soccer moms rear ending me.

    I've read about people having trouble with the battery on their FTR. I've been lucky. Mine's been strong for the two years I've had it, not a single problem. I've got the Rally version and love it. Taking it to The Dragon tomorrow.

      That’s awesome. Ya a big issue for me is I work only 8 miles from home so it doesn’t get that run time it would like. I’ve been using a charger at night and she’s been golden. This bike is so much fun. You’re gonna have a blast I bet!

    Stumbled across your channel today, and love seeing the Redlands and surrounding areas, as I live in Redlands and grew up in this whole area. Thanks for sharing this "day in saddle" type of review. I fell in love with the FTR a couple years back during a demo day, but haven't been able to own it yet. Appreciate hearing the info about the battery and cold start issue too. That's the main issue I've seen discussed with the bike, so it's nice to see it happen live, and know that it hasn't been a detrimental issue for you either.

      Awesome! Ya I’ve had the bike like 6 months now and it’s been fantastic. It’s not mine so it’s still stock. When I only get a little ride to work in I will put it on the trig-gal charger and that has made it where I don’t notice an issue.

      @@TheBeardedBobber Honestly, my Sportster prefers being left on the tender too, especially in the colder weather. Could probably use a stronger cranking battery for it even.

      I will say I still have it and it’s been great. The battery tender helps so much. If this was mine I would’ve made a few mods but it’s a great bike still!

    The exhaust welding is the new laws in California and indian changed it for all states

    Great preview and honest apinion of this bonkers bulletproof motorcycle,... I purchased my FTR Rally in 2021 and immediately modified it for reasons that you have mentioned, EU regulations have ruined the performance, sound and looks of today's bikes, we don't have emission tests here in the UK so the first thing I did was to bypass the cat and change the exhaust, this allows the fuel to pass into the engine quicker No Longer Restricted plus much better performance, before I made these alterations it reached 130 mph before the fuel regulator kicked in, now not only does it ecellerate faster but the fuel regulator doesn't kick in until 140 mph,...As for cold starts the early models have problems if the temperature is below 12c, all you have to do is push the start button and quickly turn it off after the engine has turned over a few times, repeat... During the summer my FTR gets very hot and although the auto fan kicks in it gets unbearable stuck in traffic so I designed and fitted a ram-air collector to the left side of the engine and amazingly it works a treat,... My only dislike is the small 12 litre fuel tank, However I now see on the new FTRs tanks are much bigger,... I have made so many modifications to my bike that it is no longer recognisable as an FTR, very similar to EVEL KNIEVELS Stunt Bike, to much to mention, as pictured in my profile pic above,..I absolutely love it, Oh and of course I do run a well known German motorcycle during the winter months,... Hope you keep the FTR and enjoy it as much as I do, OAP Wales UK.

      Unfortunately, the 2024 FTR's have the same size gas tank :(

      @@brettavery7463 Thank you Brett for taking the time to read my long message,.. I should of known better than to take any notice of a preview that was posted on the new FTR by someone that just took it out for a spin on a sunny afternoon, these people don't read up on the specs beforehand and give false information,.. In the 3 years that I have been riding my FTR I have not yet met or seen anyone else on one in the UK, It pulls a crowd where ever I go so more than compensates for having to put up with a small fuel tank.

      Hey sorry. Ya this one is a 23 and ya I don’t think they have any plans to make a bigger tank.
      I agree with you wish it was bigger. I’m still daily driving the ftr. I love it but another 1/2-1 gallon would be so nice.
      Even the new scout they only added .1 gallon. So 3.3 and now 3.4 but I definitely think that little bit if it was on the ftr would help for sure

    I hope the aftermarket finds a way to slightly relax the foot position i test rode one at a demo truck in Idaho and it was a blast and i want one lol

    Man if you like this FTR then you need to try sport mod on the S

      I have for a short ride on the demo truck. Had the wheel come up a few times. I’ve done that now with this one too but the sport mode made it just always wanna happen lol. I have a buddy that said I could ride his and he has a few things done to his. Fingers crossed I get to ride it soon

    How tall are you? I'm looking at one of these but I'm 5'7" and unsure if I'll be able to flat foot it.

      I’m 5’7” 28” inseam I can flat foot one foot at a time but both feet is more like 3/4 foot. It has not been an issue. I actually just rode it to bike night and back.

    how many miles on this bike?

      Like 500 I think during this video. Currently at like 1200. Since it’s not mine a battery tender has made it way better. If I owned it it would have a tune for sure.
      Biggest problem for the battery is I only work 8 miles from home so it doesn’t always get a good drive for the battery.
      But she’s been great with a tender. All winter she started just fine.

      I’m getting like 40mpg but I’m ripping and mainly taking back roads and streets with it. Definitely is a little higher when just cruising

      @@Dooby0071 80 before the light comes on. Light comes on with 1 gallon left. That’s when I’m out ripping and not cruising
