I think if we want ball to actually be good he should be able to deal dmg with a primary fire, not pee shooters that can finnish a 10 hp target. But not too much or you could just be a shoot bot but at least some dmg so he can dive
@@Disappointed_Philosoraptor i just love the fact that Rein skillset is so old in game lore, that just a construction drill can do better than him. He in need of full rework.

They aren't. At least not yet. The current meta has his counters front and center. He can be insane, but he is easily punished in the current meta so even those skilled with him can't take advantage. Once Orisa is nerfed, and hopefully Roadhog too because Orisa is the only reason Hog isn't dominant right now, then maybe dive will make a comeback and Ball will get those nerfs after that happens. Ball is technically ridiculously strong right now. He just isn't GOOD.
No they don't, if you actually played ball, you'd realise that these changes are actually useless in high ranks because you don't have any increased damage at all, therefore you arent actually getting more picks than normal. Skilled enemies will also still shoot and hit you with this new speed, its been happening to me all the time, I've been getting slept and hooked mid air, mid slingshot, it does not matter, wrecking ball is still one of the largest targets in the game.
Sharing shields isn't THAT useful, but there are a few times you can get some value out of it: 1) As mentioned in the video, giving away your leftover shields when your timer is about to end is just free. 2) Sometimes if you're rolling away from your engagement and you pass by your team you can dole them out since you're not using it anymore. I like to think of it as drive-by shields. 3) And finally, if you have a team member (or more) diving with you you can split the shield with them to empower your whole dive. Since there's a cap on how much each team member receives you'll often still keep the majority share of the shields, and they can be BIG value on already hard to hit characters like Tracer or Genji.

2:07 it's not the grapple retraction speed that is giving you the extra velocity per say, it's more so because you are reducing the radius, you can try this yourself spinning around on an office chair with a heavy object, as you pull it in, (decreasing the radius) your rotational speed will increase
That would be the case in real life, with a spinning tethered object. But we don't know if the physics engine in Overwatch is programmed to conserve angular momentum, of if there is some other approximation mechanism for the acceleration observed in game.

I really wish people would explain the slingshot with retract properly through understanding that reducing radius (retracting) increases angular velocity perpendicular to the circle (your release point). This basic knowledge will help players to understand the new tech better and not retract too far and lose momentum by going past the perpendicular point of release they wanted
Well at least now I know my diamond brain does have the mechanics and physical interaction knowledge to have done all these in my first couple games post "rework" without watching any new tech guides, I just still lack the good timing and decision making that I need to really make Ball work lol
And it doesn't matter at all, especially when ball rarely dies and he can't kill anything because they buff/change literally anything but his damage. He's weaker than we was 2 seasons ago, he's just slightly faster on occasion, its really not as strong as you're making it out to be. Ball can get back fast? Okay so? I’ve seen some people asking for the ability to extend the grapple, since we can now retract it. The slingshot effect is exactly why an extension of grapple would be a terrible idea. Slingshotting is because of the concept of Conservation of Angular Momentum. Since pulling yourself in speeds you up, extending your range would in fact slow you down, meaning people would take themselves out of fireball and not understand why.

To explain the slingshot to the people who still don't know why. Imagine two runners on a circular track. Now Let's say both runners are linear to one another yet at two different positions away from the center of the track. Now sense the runner further away from the cent is linear to the inner runner. They must be running fast as they are running a larger circumference. In hams case if that same outer runner was running with the same velocity but now closer to the center.
