My son was 6months old and we were 2 months from our 2nd year old deployment, and my husband was also active duty so I said duck it!! 15 years later and I’m a RN and dad still serving❤️

once you join, your life belongs to them, its the mission and vehicle maintenance is more important than family maintenance🤷 the reason I got out after 8 yrs....because if something comes up you dont wanna do or have to rotate to a place you dont wanna go, you cannot just quit like you can a regular job but thats just what it is, but it has its benefits and negative aspects
@@whitleywhitley2280tell us more. Would she be able to leave at any point in time? i travel for a living as well. But hearing 6-9 months is wild for me. Even 2 weeks is a lot. I go in spurts of a few days at a time. The good part is she gets some time to herself altho she is still wrapped up in work.

I feel for you Mel. Had a sister in the military who had to leave her children behind for service in the Middle East. A brave face she had when she had to leave. Only the peace of God got her, husband and the kids through that day and that period of service. May you both have the peace of God to guard your hearts and mind always.

Family dynamic is key❤️ yes five months is long compared to some that get 6 weeks so I was grateful lol🫶🏾
@MelnMo I'm so glad you got 5 months. Wow - I'm Canadian so here we take between 12-18 months that can also be shared with your husband if that makes sense.
Mel'nMo, this was a beautiful but emotional video. Mel, it has to be hard to separate from your children and husband. Even though you know he got this. I'm sure you're counting down your final years.
Mo, you're a great Dad. Sometimes, it will be challenging. But keep trusting God to get you through it. Thank you both.
This was such an on point comment sometimes people look at it like oh it’s okay it’ll be fine. Yes I understand my career and know that at times I’ll have to leave but that emotional separation is very real. I’m blessed to have a husband to step up in the times when I can’t be there to tag team this with him but I’m secure in knowing he’s an amazing dad. I’m absolutely counting down these last years. Thanks for your prayers and understanding ❤️🙏🏽

I felt so sorry for Mel when Mo drove off. Her face said she didn’t want to leave her family. Being in the military requires sacrifices that take a strong person like Mel to get through. Mo, you’re a wonderful Dad who will handle the responsibility of parenting alone while Mel is gone with grace & prayer. I have no doubt Cairo and Cree will be well taken care of by you, with the support of GiGi. I pray that God will bless you with everything you need to endure while Nel is away. Being a parent is quite sacrificial. The two of you are doing an excellent job so far. Mo enjoying single fatherhood is an awesome experience. Mel being away from your family for any length of time is very hard.

Leaving our babies, spouses and loved ones is never easy whether at home or abroad. But, Melissa and Mo, you all have the anointing of the Holy Spirit over your lives. Everything is going to be alright. Mo, you got this! Thank God you have Ms. Gigi there to assist in the process.

This brought back memories. I was in the Navy( USS Yelllowstone-decommissioned )and had to go on a ship out to sea when my daughter was four months…I miss her first words, first step, and first birthday 😢. Military families 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I remember when my dad was in the army and he had to leave for training I would cry everyday until he came home.
