What's the scenario with respect to CS students, I'm currently 28 and will go for MTech admission this year. I have approximate gap years of 5.
It's absolute gap or u have some authorised work experience during these year

@@loveyezir7634definitely 5 year gap is bit more long gap but for cse branch you can manage it by having some extra effort during your m.tech course like you should try for internship whether it be through campus or offline on ur own...and also you will have to prepare your curriculum bit seriously and you can add more and more skill in your cv so that your strong point dominate on your week point..and prepare your gap justification in a matured way so that it look like a genuine concern and advantageous in your professional life and be updated in new advanced technology as per current demanding situation

Yes ofcourse you can prepare for vlsi profile and you will be eligible in most of vlsi company.it will not be much difficult if you will start your preparation from early phase and definitely power electronics project will help you but to be more effective you can also have vlsi project already available on different platform.
And btw Texas instruments analog profile mainly recruit from electrical branch.

I am 2020 passout and got average rank in same year (nearly 1000) in EE. But I didn't join any mtech that year and join an IT company. Now I am interested in vlsi. My question is if I leave my job and prepare for next year for gate EE for mtech, will vlsi companies allow me to sit in placement or is there age criteria in companies while shortlisting?
As you are a 2020 passout student and also have job experience.. you can prepare for vlsi stream but if you can manage gate preparation along with your job then that will be a safer side for you

@@Srajit978 pahli baat gap criteria hota hai naa ki age criteria..gap year and age both are different thing.your job experience will not be counted as gap year. and for vlsi profile all these don't matter a lot. jaada se jaada interview k time m they will ask what did you do during these year. vlsi,semiconductor profile sbme ye sb itna matter nh krta hai..

No it will not be counted as your gap year..

No 2 year gap for cse will not matter a lot... there may be general questions like what were you doing these years at interview time and you can explain it in positive way.

dont worry about your 12 or btech perecentages - once you get into top iits or iisc - no company asks for those percentages
Just foucs on mtech and score good percentage in mtech - only mtech cgpa matters for mtech placements in iits or iisc
give your best in gate exam - leave your past about your 12%
