    Please try to explain in details, so the students can get it easily. You only said in time distance relay, deflecting torque becomes higher than that of restraining torque and aluminium disc starts moving in either direction. I'm saying try to co-relate it with torque, force applied to spring and then theta (angle). So as theta overcomes restraining torque produced by PT, upper spindle moves and NO becomes NC and Distance relay operate and sends tripping signal to circuit breaker. So the system is isolated from the fault.
