I was a Mormon for 32 years and the ONLY thing that opened my eyes was hardship. I was in a horrible marriage and had to get out, I was kicked out of my home and my community (Mormon “friends”) I lost everything including time with my children which KILLED ME. I had to hit rock bottom. My ex then hurt my youngest and the courts did nothing to protect her and I as her mother could legally do nothing. I really had to hit absolute nothingness. I had to know that no amount of “works” on my end could save me on earth or in heaven. I had to give myself to God and I didn’t know how. After I had fully left the church 3yrs later and I felt spiritually lost. I thought I knew EVERYTHING! Mormons really do feel like they know all when it comes to spiritual knowledge. Now I had nothing and I knew nothing and no one could help me but God. A friend across the street shared her Christian faith with me and sent me info from Mike Winger! I had no idea! Mormons DON’T KNOW what they don’t know if that makes sense. They have no clue that they aren’t following Christ’s word. They are so convinced. My point is that it has to be the right time for them spiritually. Just like everything else God is the ONLY one who can change their heart. You must pray to know when is the right time and then act accordingly. Don’t force, just do what God tells you to do in love and he can do marvelous things with you. Thank you for wanting to help your friends ❤️ I think if there is something we can do FOR God, it’s share his true gospel with his other children. I am eternally grateful for my sweet friend across the street and for my God who saves me. Mormons believe God loves us but it’s on condition. IF ye love me keep my commandments = he doesn’t love/save you unless you keep his commandments. This Christian God is endless love! No conditions! He just loves us! Such love boggles the mind. I feel so happy that I know ❤️
Watch Brad Wilcox’s talk “His Grace is Sufficient”. It absolutely changed my view of how Christ saves us. Mike misreads that scripture about works. What it is saying is that after all we do to try and save ourselves it’s never enough and Christ is the one that saves. Our works are simply how we try and be more like HIM…not to save ourselves. I know you posted this 2 years ago but I still recommend that talk with everything I have
That's not an easy task, but with God, all things are possible. Bless you, and may the truth of His Word permeate your understanding, and may His Spirit guide you into all truth.
Same here! I totally agree. I’m so shocked by how I took for granted that what we were taught wasn’t Christianity. I thought we were being taught the same as Christians. Now I am so glad to be saved and know that God has such patience for me.
I was raised Mormon. I’m now a Christian. Much of my family is Mormon and they call themselves Christians. I often engage them and have discussions about the differences in our beliefs. Thank you for this channel. I’ve learned so much from you and pray that one day God will open my family’s eyes to the Truth
not sure you'll read this after 2 months but: there is so much power in persistent prayer. My sister prayed for me and my friend to be saved for years while we were living in sin, and we both are strong faithed Christians now. Keep praying God will work in their hearts and that they may see the truth. You never know when it may happen. I will pray for your family as well, this is a terribly deceitful cult to be deceived by.
There is a lot of 'Christianity' that is a bit at odds. But most of them affirm at least the basics and don't add greatly. They devil is more in the detail with them. Mormons are just an extreme example of having added a lot. Lot's of "main-stream" Christianity is carnal as well and that's why Mormons, who often lead more exemplary lives, are immune against evangelizing.
Yes I’m in the same place, I’m still trying to unravel all the things that were drilled into me as a kid. But we aren’t even taught the real doctrine which is crazy for me to understand. The truth behind Mormonism and Joseph Smith is so wild and I was completely blind to it. After leaving the church, the concept of the trinity was difficult to comprehend, but it is the absolute truth of God. There is only one God. Thankfully I’m now Christian but it’s a difficult journey and honestly at first it was nearly impossible to know what was actually real and actually true. Jesus saved me and my relationship with God is literally my whole life. Since I really became Christian and accepted Jesus as my Lord and my Savior, I felt real clarity for the first time in my life. Thank you Jesus 🙌 I wish you well and you got this. God has got you ❤️
You say that you are now a Christian. Then you must belong to one of the thousands of Christian churches with differing doctrines of salvation based on their interpretations from the Bible. The nature of God, and whether we are by grace alone or by faith alone or by works alone or a combination of two or all of these have been the cause of disagreements in the churches for many centuries. Would you agree that if all interpretations from the Bible were the same, there would only be one true church? What is the name of your Church? Is it in any way similar to the Biblical church which Jesus built through his apostles whom he ordained and guided by revelations; a church in which believers of Jesus were baptized by immersion for the remission of sins and received the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands by one authorized to do so, and members were called saints? (See Acts 2:38, 8:14-17, Ephesians 2:19-20).
Hi Mike. I am a current Mormon who has been having a faith crisis the past year or so. My husband and I have been learning to value truth more than feelings. We are transitioning out of the Mormon church, however, my family has NO IDEA. I think it might just kill them. We are working on how to break the news, plus are still trying to navigate the truth ourselves. You hit the nail on the head when you said that we value our feelings more than truth. We are 100% taught to trust the feelings of the spriit to know what is true. And if we don't know if it's our own feelings or the spirit - we are just told if it is good it is the spirit.... So hard to discern! I really loved your video. My jaw dropped at your definitions - they are completely different. I didn't realize that learning Christianity after Mormonism is going to be like learning a whole new language. It's a lot. A couple comments, first, yup I totally finished your sentence "we are saved...after all we can do." We are taught that Christians are wrong for thinking they don't have to do anything to earn eternal life. It's a new perspective to realized actually we are wrong for thinking we have to do ANYTHING to qualify for Christ's sacrifice. Finally, to your question what can we do to help Mormons realize the truth...honestly not much. Continue to be loving and accepting. Show us that there are good people outside the church (we are seriously taught that we have a monopoly on happiness, being good, and having strong families). I can't really pin point to 1 thing that helped me "wake up", but definitely had to allow myself to even consider that the church may not have 100% all truth. Maybe ask your Mormon friends "what would happen if the church wasn't the only truth? If it wasn't true, would you want to know?" just to get them thinking. In the end they have to step away themselves. No one can "teach them out".
Ex Mormon here, now Christian. Before I had become a Mormon, I had seen an ad of how the Mormon church offers comfort and that praying to God for new scripture is alright. They had convinced me to sign up for missionary work. And they came to my house and gave me a Book of Mormon. I had thought that it could be another piece of God's Word. (before this, I read the Bible, but it was the King James version and was really hard for me to understand so when they showed me this, I didn't know enough scripture to refute it.) I had joined the church for a few months. Meeting new friends and what I had thought was studying God's Word. The night of Christmas Eve, I had saw a video from Allen Parr which said, "are Mormons Christian?" I found the title interesting and decided to look at it. When he went over that Mormons believe that they can become gods, I was shocked. I couldn't believe that since they didn't tell me about it. Thankfully I knew enough of the Bible to know that we won't become gods. I basically went down a rabbit hole of videos for a few hours. They went over Christianity and Mormonism differences. I couldn't believe it and decided to leave the church. There are still missionaries that try to talk to me and convince me to join the church back, but I have actually shared the true gospel with them.
I grew up as a Mormon until I just turned 29. I had doubts my whole life. It’s weird when you’re so young, you doubt your faith. Having grown in the church, everything is expected of you. I never went in a mission and that instantly makes you the black sheep. When I told members that through conversation, you could see how surprised they were without outright telling you. I finally took the leap after reading the CES letter that solidified my doubts in the LDS church. Before actually leaving, I did my research, real research. I would real exmormon blogs, I read the CES letter, watched videos like yours, and talked to family and friends that had left the church and their reasoning as to why they left. I would cross reference information, making sure the things that I read and heard were from legit sources. I left the church and then, I left left. I removed my name from the church as well as my wife. When my wife and I talked about leaving, the questions she asked was, “Do you want our children to feel what your feeling right now?” I wanted my kids to be out of that church before they were really involved in a way that would make it hard for them to really understand something else other than LDS doctrine. I’m still on my journey to fully understand the truth and I’m sure it will take years to overcome the things I was taught in the LDS church. Right now, the Bible based church I’m attending right now is involved in doing daily scriptural study of the New Testament. I’ve read it before but I’m REALLY reading it now in a way that after reading the first 15 pages, have totally caused me to understand that the LDS church is totally wrong. One thing I noticed the most was that they spent more time reading about past prophets and comparing Joseph Smith to Jesus. Knowing many Mormons, trying to convince them into your thinking and to try to tell them what’s wrong with their religion will cause them to shut down and not listen. Or they’ll tell you that we won’t know all that is true until the afterlife. Asking questions to my parents, who are still fully involved, would just say, “we don’t know that yet” or “we won’t know that until we see Him again” or my favorite “You’re thinking way too much about it”. Anyways. Thank you for your video. It really helps me on my journey to know the truth and to expand my knowledge on the truth. I’m loving learning about the REAL Jesus and God and learning through reading the Bible.
Burt, This will help me more than you can know. There are children in my family being raised LDS when one parent is a former or ex-LDS. It is hard on the children and breaks my heart. I listen and don't judge so they have someone to listen to them.
I have a good friend that is Mormon and her husband, son, and all the family is. To be honest I wouldn't know what or how to start a conversation such as this.
I can't imagine you feel much different than I do about having family members who are still devout Mormons. My ex-wife, 2 daughters (whom I have a fantastic relationship with as their dad), my dad, and most of my siblings are still in that Church. I'm praying for the best ways on how to reach them as individuals. Distance in where we all live doesn't help. But I'm certainly in a similar boat as you and just wanted you to know, I hope they see who God says He is!
Yes, brother I want to know...l have heard of the detractions of Mormonism. Having tried to learn about what they believe, I am trying to know why other Christians think that way. Thanks for the way you are offering clarity.
listen people, the relationship with the GOD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST is a personal one. you can have one with out an organization feeding or filtering their doctrines true or in error. The gathering together "church" is for corporate worship and fellowship with fellow believers. The Gospel is learned in the WORD guided by the SPIRIT. Church is for a joyful noise, sharing love and charity with the congregation while breaking bread with brothers and sisters in CHRIST. I can go into a Lutheran, Baptist or any other sound doctrine church and worship my GOD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST amongst my brethren. You can't do it in a cults church. Wheresoever two or three are gathered in my name I AM there amongst thee. HIS name is WORD YHWH, nothing less. ✝❤
Left the LDS for Presbyterianism. I even went to the MTC. They told us to either lie or misdirect people when they asked about one of the controversial beliefs. Being asked to lie was one of the things that started my movement to leave.
Did they ask outright? Do you know with certainty that this is systemic throughout the church or was it localized? What exactly did they tell you to lie about and how were you supposed to respond?
@@blusheep2 They definitely did ask us to lie outright. Our local mission president even lied to someone to their face when asked a question about some of the weirdest beliefs of LDS theology just to keep that person from leaving. I'm only familiar with the LDS Church in Mississippi, but I've met missionaries from all sorts of places, such as Utah, Colorado, etc. I joined when Monson was the President.
@@ianpardue2615 So it might have been localized. I'm not Mormon but when I was much younger... 19ish... some missionaries came to my home. I asked them about the Doctrine and Covenants. They told me that they had no idea what that was. I asked them about becoming gods and they denied knowing anything about that. Looking back its hard for me to believe that they didn't know about the Doctrine and Covenants though I have heard that some of those controversial subjects weren't taught to the youth until they were confronted with it on the mission and only then would the mentors tell them, "sure. Of course we believe that."
@@blusheep2 I don't think that it was a local practice, since my bro was nearly converted in Colorado, until I told him what was in the Book of Moses, the Book of Abraham, and the Doctrines and Covenants. He asked them about it, and they misdirected the question. They would never answer the question. They were basically like a politician. On that other thing that you said, they were probably misleading you. I say that not to be judgemental, but for a few reasons. The first is the Doctrines and Covenants, like the Book of Abraham, is included at the back of their Bibles. The second is that the Gospel Principles book, which I still have, quotes from and references the Standard Works. The third is that the biographies of the Presidents, which includes selective quotations from them, also quotes the D&C. I was taught from one of thkse books, as God once was, we now are, and as God now is, we may become. So it seems highly unlikely to me that they didn't know the controversial doctrines of their religion.
4 years later, this is as enlightening and relevant, as fresh the day it was recorded. Thank you Mike, for being intentional in finding Truth and expressing it so all can understand.
Yep! I didn't really need this 4 years ago. Catholicism & JW, yes! But now I'm onto having Mormon friends and in my community more. So thankful, so I can be more prepared when discussions come up.
John Lee, I believe you’ve already told me “good riddance” and I was “dead weight anyway.” If this wasn’t you, my apologies. Much better to bear the mocking words, “thanks for leaving...and taking your idolatry with you!” from men, than to hear the Lord say,‘…I never knew you; depart from Me, you worker(s) of lawlessness!’ Mt 7:22,23 The idols I speak of - and trusted in - were men; the leaders of the church. Any member would know full well what I mean by that. As an apparent enemy, I forgive and bless you anyway and. pray you will seek and find the LORD as I did 33 years ago. 🕊
@@texascove2339 He explained it in his next comment: "The idols I speak of - and trusted in - were men; the leaders of the church. Any member would know full well what I mean by that."
As a mormon, I wanted to be an advocate for plural marriage, and share with people the good in it, as long as people lived it right with God's help. I have a wonderful polygamist family, but it took work and God's help for me to love them all which I do very much. So I talked to many people in the comments sections of many utube videos. There were some Christians that told me the error of my ways, and most of the time I felt like they had no proof for their claims in scripture. I would ask them a verse in scripture to support their belief. Many times what they showed me didn't prove anything, like it was taken completely out of context and stuff, but then a few people started showing me passages of scripture that definitely supported the idea that there were major differences between the bible teachings and the mormon teachings. As a mormon, we always put more trust in mormon teachings, because the prophet Joseph Smith said in the articles of faith: "We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. We also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God." So basically, when in doubt, go with what Joseph taught, because he brought us the restored true gospel of Christ, or so I thought. When I read some of the things that people pointed out to me in scripture, I started to realize they were not just translation errors, but actual direct contradictions. One of them had to be not true, but which one? After much battles in my mind, I decided I could not give up the words of Jesus in the bible. My husband told me to quit reading the bible. He takes it with a grain of salt. He said he would never read it, and that it would just confuse me. I was upset. I could not except this, because I knew the words of life were in that book. God gave me a testimony of Jesus through the words of Jesus in the sermon on the mount. I prayed for truth, and when I read those words, I knew I found it, so I can never give it up. When I read it, I knew it was true. It was beautiful. My words can't describe it. Jesus was everything. So, for my husband to try to make me give up the bible was like him trying to make me give up Jesus, and I couldn't. Since then, I have found many more truths in the bible, and with help from good Christian channels like yours, I have come to believe that mormonism is not true. I'm no longer an advocate for plural marriage, but I know God helped me in mine. Many years ago, I realized that as long as I couldn't forgive or love many of my family members, I was not going to make it to heaven, so I asked God to help me forgive and help me love them, and he did just that. It was a giant weight lifted off my shoulders and instead of only seeing the bad in them, I could see the good, and I was no longer crazy jealous and desperate for affection, but more content. I try to have more compassion for others. I know now that plural marriage was not God's design to qualify us to go to the highest degree of glory on the Celestial kingdom and then become Gods and godesses of our own planets. One woman, one man, was God's design and belief in him that we might be saved to everlasting life with him. I don't want my own planet. I just want Jesus. I just want truth.
That was powerful. Wow. There is a common theme with all who leave a system of belief/s: they read the Bible. I know it sounds strange, but I hear it over and over. I pray that GOD continues to Bless you abundantly and that through those Blessings, you may show the truth of the gospels to your friends and family.
I want to relate and empathize with you, but I just can't even imagine a polygamous marriage so I will just say "praise Jesus that you found your way out"
Praise God! The truth shall make you free! Whom the Son has set free, is free indeed! Glory be to God in the Most High! You humbled yourself and sought God and the Holy Spirit met you in your quest! Praise God and be blessed! Thanks for sharing your powerful testimony✨✨✨
I'm so sorry you had to go through all that. It must be terrible to share your hurband with another woman or women... Stay strong and pray... I hope you're soon freed from this ungodly marriage...
My family is mormon I was baptized so. I can't say I ever bought the whole life. When I was told that I was working to be a God myself I knew it was all wrong. The mormon people are wonderful people but have been misled. I don't buy what they teach and have not for sometime. Your videos are great to watch and full of good true information. Thank you T.S. Jones
Saying our parents copulated and creative children is just nonsense. In the sense that we don't know how they did it so this is just reaching and speculating.
If you read the Bible you will find Matt Christ had to go from Grace to Grace as well as we do. And that he did not become perfect until he was resurrected. All of this can be found in the New Testament.
When a Christian which I am I just happened to be LDS at the same time. And a Christian that is a Protestant or a Baptist or Methodist or whatever flavor of Christianity that you want to have says that something about Jesus and we say something about Jesus we believe in the same Jesus there is no other Jesus there is only one Jesus there is only one son of God there is only one son that was resurrected there was only one person that was born of Mary. There was only one person who turned water to wine. And it goes on and on we believe in the same Jesus don't believe in that red herring.
If you are a Christian just with a LDS flavor and I am a Christian with a Lutheran flavor can I ask you why your church calls me a gentile? Why would I have to be rebaptized? My baptism isn’t good enough? My Jesus was present at the beginning when God created heaven and earth, God the Father, God the son, God the Holy Spirit. Three persons in one God. If you don’t believe that then we are not believing in the same Jesus. If we don’t agree on these points then one of us are not a Christian. My Christianity is 2000 years old, doesn’t make it right but thinks it gives us the right to being called a Christian. How much do you spend reading the Bible? Do you really think scriptures have been corrupted? One of my prized possessions is my Tanakh. I am amazed how closely my New Living translation Bible is word for word with the Tanakh. Praying God will open your eyes.
@@lasalletxnurse1I’m an exmormon, but I think many mormons still study Jesus well enough. The statement “Mormons do not know Jesus” actually reminds me of the narrow mindedness of mormon church members…
I am a former mormon. Full activation, temple attending and always truth seeking. I didn't find the truth within the walls of church or the temple. I found it after a dark night of the soul (which lasted much longer than one night). I was torn between realities in grief and pain. My Christian friend asked me if I wanted to know Jesus. I pleaded with her to teach me what she knew about him and we prayed together right there in the car. I felt something deeply moving within my heart. Two years later, I connected with my pastor neighbor who explained the real Jesus Christ and the principle of being saved by grace instead of works. I had not been taught that concept in my life as a mormon. How crazy! 30 years and I never knew that. It is truth. I've been studying truth from each religion and Christian spirituality speaks the deepest to me. I am not as much a literalist, but I believe anything is possible under the omniscient God. Love is the answer. Hatred is not the answer. I really enjoy your videos and I trust your sources of information. You are teaching the true doctrine of Christ using logic and reason, which is valuable. Thank you SO MUCH!!!!!! I will share your videos once I feel it's safe for me to do so. I'll start by sharing truth in person. I pray for God to give me more skill and wisdom as I continue in my journey as a born again Christian.
Your knowledge of the scriptures, and also of Mormanism, just has me in awe. About a year and a half ago, I started to watch a Morman video on you tube, and got interested in what they believe and where their origin came from. I bought a few books and some Morman missionaries came to my door, and I wound up with a BoM, also. I was brought up in the Lutheran Religion, but as I got older, slacked away from going to church. After a year and a half of reading and learning about the biggest fair-ytail that has been ever written(Mormanism), my faith has grow more and more, in the good old Christian Scriptures! These poor people are walking around, with blindfolds on, and cannot see the truth. Maybe more of your exposure of Morman Doctrine, will bring more of those lost souls to Christ. God bless your efforts!
Ironically enough, Islam considers Christians to be polytheists because of our belief in the Trinity. When you look at Mormonism you have a solid case because Joseph Smith in his human understanding decided the Trinity didn't make sense and simplified it into there being three distinct gods instead of one God. If Mormons get to use the label of Christian it is a major problem because these really are polytheists in so many ways. The idea of becoming a god is absurd and certainly blasphemous.
I really like your videos. I'm a Christian and wish to help these people who come to my door. Mormons in particular are such hardworking and good natured people who have been misled. God bless you for what you are doing to help them, and for the info you provide to everyone.
I’m sooo grateful for the grace of God. We shared about grace with some Mormons at came to our doors. I asked them to explain their kind of grace and I explained the grace of the Bible. It’s such a freedom. I told them that exact verse with them that you said. No one can boast.
Thank you for this video. There are two young ladies who have been coming to my door for the past few months. Yes they spoke exactly as you said. I knew nothing about The "Mormon" religion.they claimed they are Christians, very sweet.. However after they left I have had a heaviness in my heart for them, The HOLY SPIRIT was letting me know this is a false religion.. I invited them back every week to come and talk.i talk to them about Salvation and The Gospel. I told them I love them and do not want them to perish, GOD has a message for them both ,so now after hearing you speak about their beliefs , THE LORD is leading me to show them The TRUE GOSPEL. Thank you for posting .I know now what GOD wants me to tell them. GLORY TO GOD!!! GOD BLESS ✝️🙌🙏
Hey Mike, my first encounter of ever hearing that there was a group of people out there called Mormons was when Joel Osteen was asked in an interview if Mormons go to heaven or hell. Joel obviously dodged the question and said he’s not God to judge anyone and he slightly gave the impression that if they believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior then he sees no reason why God would not save them. So I payed little attention to it because I had never researched their theology and took it on the word of Joel Osteen that they believed in Jesus. However, it wasn’t until my sister in law became a Mormon about 5 years ago that I became interested in learning about them. And boy, to my surprise, how different they are to historic and biblical Christianity. I have taken the last 2 years to learn their language and really know the differences we have. In the last year I have had several missionaries come by my house and we spend hours talking about these differences. It is a really rewarding experience every single time. I hope that God uses me to plant seeds in the hearts of these brothers, and my sister in law. Thank you for sharing this video and helping me in my research. Teachers like you and Durbin, and the God Loves Mormon channel have been a huge blessing for me in learning how to defend the Christian faith while also, and equally as important, being loving, gentle, and hospitable to the Mormon community. Blessings!
Mike, thanks for clarifying these definitions. From time to time, I've met Mormons, and knew that they embrace a false doctrine, but wasn't really aware that they also redefine Christian terms. It can lead to a confusing conversation. I recently met a couple of Mormons who would like to talk with me more. I'm Evangelical and I share the gospel regularly, although this is a tough group to reach. I believe that prayer and the Word of God, which is the Sword of the Spirit, are most effective. We may not see the results right away, but God waters the seeds. Thanks once again!
So far I haven't had any Mormon visitors but it's good to know what to expect. And it's refreshing for someone to say they don't know all the answers. I love your videos by the way.

Former mormon. Took myself off the roles in 2008 after nearly 20 years of being "inactive". Last year I got to know Jesus and was baptized as a Catholic. it is my joy to know Jesus and love Him and serve Him. I remain stunned that the mo's never told me that there were multiple gods. My childhood was an experience of never ever being good enough...still disabling at age 53. I attended my younger brother's funeral last Friday after he was killed in a terrible motorcycle accident. I was horrified to experience a chapel that had no evidence of Jesus in the chapel. Then, the time for us to memorialize my brother was used to teach mormon theology. I started looking into mormonism because I want to rescue my mom and dad from this horrific, made up church. Thanks for the video.
Barye Bluth, condolences on your loss. Thank you for sharing. There is another video you might enjoy. "Mormonism Refuted in 4 Points" by Dr. Taylor Marshall. He is a Catholic convert from the Episcopal church. I am Catholic. God tried to prepare me by putting a small library of Mormon literature in my path to read when I was studying. Several people close to me joined the LDS church. All I can do is pray for them and hope. Those who come out are heart-broken by the way they are treated when trying to leave.
@@Charity-vm4bt something else to be careful about in regards to us "Mormons" as I have experienced it myself before and know of quite a few others(a couple are close friends of mine). I am concerned if those who were born M will have difficulty if they choose to leave. I learned as much as I could about M beliefs. You are correct. It is not my place to judge. The door is always open for them to discuss these topics with me.
This man is truly edifying me! I've learned so much from just a few videos I've seen. I'm looking forward to more! Thank you and may God continually bless you!
Thanks Mike for taking time and bringing bible teachings to the forefront. For Mormons, I hope they find the truth and have the courage to step away from the cult.
Ex Mormon raised from birth. I always saw "God" as a "title" when I was in Mormonism. You know, the way you'd say "Mr. President" to whoever was in office at the time.
@@Volleyball_Chess_and_Geoguessr I took what they meant as, the title of God could be given to multiple humans over time. Like presidents change every four years.
@@Marlaina but WORD YHWH is eternal. Men are not gods and to believe so is not a title but a form of worship. Biden is not my President and does't claim to be. He is president for the left and NWO, maybe elected by the 50%+ majority of the people but doesn't govern for the people. Maybe next election it will shift back the other way. Comparing GOD to a President is close to blasphemy.
people always go to works based righteousness because it removes God and promotes self. when you have works you can legitimately be proud and self righteous. you can impress people with works and also it suits people who want every aspect of their lives controlled for them.
*GodsWordSaves7 says:* "people always go to works based righteousness because it removes God and promotes self."* *JediMormon corrects:* LDS don't. Besides which, according to Paul in the Bible, faith _without_ works is dead, being alone. (James 2:17)
JediMormon we are not saved that is we are not born again and given the Holy Spirit because of anything that we have done. Salvation is a free gift but once you experience a true conversion you should start to produce tangible fruits of righteousness. that is appetites change, we feel conviction over sin and increased desires for the things of God. Faith is actions based on a confident expectation therefore belief is not enough , true conversion leads to christlikeness and godliness in a practical way.
We are to do works quietly. Bible says don't tell the right hand what the left is doing..or praying in public so others can see you. We still have to help those in need 💝
"you can impress people with works" Such as ridiculing your enemies via TH-cam comments. Much virtue signaling! Jesus said to do your alms in secret. There needs to be works; but they are not virtue signals.
Thanks Mike, for this. I wish that when I was dwelling amongst them for so long that I could have gotten through. I tried. I brought my Bible out and showed them all these key differences. But, one against 6 or 7 was always so rough. I grieve to know that my "second family" is all comprised of Mormons. That they will, maybe, never know the truth of God's love and grace that has so boundlessly filled me throughout my life. I forget to pray for them sometimes, but I find solace knowing you are praying for them and you're spreading that call to love and pray for them. I used to feel like such a failure being unable to convince or even get them to feel pause. I hope that the stuff going on now in their church will slowly cause them to remember our discussions and my earnest in trying to bring them to God's truth.
P.s. they are still, to this day, some of the most loving people I've ever known. They try so hard to please their Heavenly Father and be good. It's so upsetting for me to know that it may be all for naught. I love my Mormon brothers and sisters and I sure hope they will soon know the real Gospel.
1st commandment broken: jehovah the god of the old testament, said, thou shalt have no other gods before.me but the mormons have a god before jehovah which they call the father god. it all makes sense when you consider they are blessed with further enlightenment thru the church. mormons disavow further enlightenment of the church: mormons are told to pray "heavenly father, we yuda yuda yuda. in the name of jesus christ amen." does that mean they are praying to heavenly father god, and accessing the father thru the son? mormons can't keep up with mormonese double speak themselves. it's kind of sad to listen to mormns bearing their testimony and saying two different mutually exclusive things in the same breath. they sound like mk ultra mind control victims.
We ran into one in Topeka, showed us his garden. It was a nice visit. Not interested in what we had to say but definitely more pleasant than when we ran into run-of-the-mill pastors
The Jehovah's Witnesses occasionally stopped by, and we had some interesting conversations. I liked reading their magazines. I don't expect them to have the same beliefs.
@@mswriter3612 Personally, I think the evidence of Jesus being Jehovah is rather hard to ignore. First of all, not once is Jesus ever called the son of Jehovah. He is never called the son of the Lord. He is always called the Lord, which is what the Jews called Jehovah. In addition, he forgives sin, when only Jehovah can forgive sin. Also, Jesus never addresses his prayers to Jehovah. He doesn't pray to himself. In the Book of Mormon, an early prophet named Nephi had a vision in which an angel asked him if he knew the condescension of God. It is a very curious question. Nephi responded that he didn't know all things, but that he knew the God loves his children. The angel goes on to explain the condescension of God, by showing Nephi the birth of the savior. Remember that Isaiah taught that Jehovah was the one and only savior. "“And he said unto me: Behold, the virgin whom thou seest is the mother of God, after the manner of the flesh." (1 Nephi 11) This one verse caused confusion among the members, and Joseph Smith later changed it to "mother of the Son of God", but to the Jews, Jehovah was their God. Their God, who ruled in the heavens, was condescending by coming down from heaven to be born a helpless baby. That strikes at the heart of the great divide, over the nature of God. It changes everything. The early church fathers didn't know how to reconcile the two beliefs, that Jesus was eternal, and that he was a baby. They finally opted for a nonsense statement that simply defined Jesus as a part of a triune God, saying that he was eternal, equal to God, and only a son in title. That was the day that Christianity rejected Jesus as the son of God. Jesus taught that he was the manna that came down from heaven. The Jews understood this to be a reference to God and started to stone him. He was born of Mary, how dare he say that he came down from heaven! Jesus tried to explain by quoting Psalms 82. Psalms 82 is about the Divine Assembly in heaven. "God presides in the divine assembly; he renders judgment among the gods" (v.1) This isn't a typo. The Jews would have understood this in the same way that we would: a god is a god. In this case it is Elohim that presides over the gods in the divine assembly. The Jews were trying to give up their former traditions, and were leaning heavily to monotheism at the time of Jesus, but they too didn't understand that God was a title that could be shared. "I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High." (v.6) So Jesus is explaining that God was calling the other members of the divine council "gods", thus making "god" a title. The implication is that Jesus was a member of that divine council, a son of God, and that he literally came down from "heaven" to be born. The Jews didn't understand, and still tried to stone him. Or perhaps they did understand. It is the modern Christian who is suck with this bone in their throat, because they have been taught repeatedly by their pastors that God is not a title, and that there is only one God.
Hello. I just wanted to say thank you for making this video. So informative and also I can see the kindness in your heart. Please keep up the good work and please keep making videos
I grew up LDS. I had a friend and roommate who challenged me in my faith. The church teaches about modern-day revelation. As I looked into things more. I realized that the leaders of the church have never actually prophesied. When the City Creek shopping mall was built with high-end retail stores. I saw that as Babylon. It was one of the church's investments. That's some of what started me down the path away from Mormonism.
I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I really appreciate this video. I've been a member my whole life, 48yrs. You've given me a lot to think about and ponder over. Just one thing, we don't parade our children up to the pulpit to bare their testimonies. Children will go up when they are ready and want to. Also, we are very reverent during our meetings, so you would never find us cheering or clapping after a child finished baring their testimony. We don't even clap after someone performs a musical number. We believe the chapel is the house of the Lord and treat it as such and are always very reverent when there. I appreciate your video and have subscribed and look forward to watching some more.
@ Beckie Christensen - my wife is Mormon and my kids go to both churches. Although you are correct about the no clapping. I think Mike misunderstood what happens when someone explained it to him. BUT you are very deceived if you think these kids are making their own decision to bare their testimony that the BOM is true, or that Joseph Smith is a true prophet. They’re not even old enough to investigate the fraud behind the BoM and/or Smith. They are pressured, maybe unintentionally but non the less pressured, to public ally bare their testimony. Maybe the clapping doesn’t happen at church but the praise from family, friends, and members come shortly after. Kids just want to please their family and will say anything to make mom/dad happy.
@@zmig7793 Actually, the kids are right and you are wrong. Jesus isn't impressed by men who rationalize what is true. He is impressed by faith. Faith is when you know something is true because you trust God. When children bear their testimony, they are not claiming years of study like a Pharisee. They are claiming to recognize the spirit of the Holy Ghost, which testifies to the truth of all things. A two-year-old can have a testimony of the truth. Think about the Day of Pentecost. Where the new converts claiming to know it was true because of years of study and rationalization? Or were they merely witnesses of the Holy Spirit? Which testimony do you think God prefers?
@Shane Stephen The real Jesus never acted like some side show charlatan, trying to win a popularity contest, nor did he charge for teaching the gospel. The Mormons have it right. Ministers should not be paid according to their popularity.

I remember a little over a year and a half ago, I was in conversation with an ex-mormon turned atheist and I didn't know much about Mormonism at the time, and at one point he was trying to explain to me how different mormonism was, and he said, "We believed God was a man!" And I said so do I, and He's still a man! (I thought he meant Jesus) It was a few confused minutes before we got the whole thing cleared up.
Hey Mike, This is so great. My wife and children left the lds church after studying the historical and scriptural problems with the church. This is a very simple yet comprehensive video to help people distinguish traditional Christianity and mormonism. Good work.

I've found with Mormons and J Whiteness, that just asking questions makes them think. Like what they believe words like "gospel" mean, or who Jesus is. Then telling them what we believe. It's a friendly way to start the conversation.
I would like to see this as well. I had a calvinist call me this once. Haven't seen a good concise video like this on it. From what I've seen im not but I would like to see a video of it being explained.
I had a Mormon boyfriend, even as a Christian, and he asked me to marry him, but I knew, from Walter Martin, that they “added” to the Bible. So I told him that. He got his church elders to “talk with” me. We broke up. But his church has followed me ever since, to use me for “ prophecy “. This has been going on since 1984.
Thank you so much for doing this! I’m exmormon and have been trying to explain all this to my family and it’s near impossible. They won’t listen without interjecting and denying what they believe. I can’t get (I grew up 22 years Mormon, I’ve been through the temple, I know the doctrine) they deny all of this when I’ve had discussions about gods god and worlds without number with them before I left. Now they act like they never said that. I am going to sit down and watch this with them next time! I appreciate the sources given and level headedneas🙏
Hey man, do you mind doing a sermon on defense of the Exodus? I really really benefited from your Daniel defense video. Watching your videos has given me a ton of joy and love for the Lord.

A questioner asked Mike in this video why so many cults change the doctrine of salvation through grace. It is my firm opinion that it is because the Gospel is founded upon the supreme power of Jesus Christ and the sufficiency of His grace to save us. Heresy that seeks to undermine salvation by grace is really to dispute the authority of Jesus Christ Himself - which automatically damns all who believe it. Satan sows the same seeds of rebellion in men’s hearts that made Lucifer try to overthrow his Creator. The reasons why Satan seeks to make us, like him, reject and challenge God’s authority are threefold: 1) he wishes to continue to defy God by making His image bearers, human beings, defy God, 2) he wishes to punish God’s image bearers, humanity, out of envy and rage that God gave us authority on Earth before the Fall, and created us to rule and reign with Jesus Christ as B’nei Elohim, part of the heavenly host in the world to come and instead send us to the Lake of Fire, the place God created for Lucifer and the fallen angels, not humans, and 3) because he wishes to turn humanity toward doctrines that extract worship away from Jesus Christ as God in the flesh and towards himself. I love Mormons but I believe that Mormonism is nothing less than Lucifer worship in disguise. Joseph Smith was guided by Satan, and Mormons are in danger of eternal damnation because they do not place their faith in Jesus Christ as God in the flesh to save them. I pray this video helps turn many Mormon hearts away from damnable heresy and to the truth of salvation in Jesus Christ.
+Hale Hafa *It is amazing to see the effort and time that people are setting aside ....* Look how much time you are setting aside to post all that garbage. No one is reading it. _I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ that was promised to Peter would be built on His rock and would never be destroyed._ (Matthew 16:18)
+Hale Hafa *in other words it makes no difference for me* you admit that you don't mind accepting a lie, you admit that you won't try to comprehend the contradictions that reveal the LDS lie you admit that you rather follow Joseph Smith rather than Jesus Christ you admit that you don't truly care about what the Bible TRULY teaches you admit that you don't care about your salvation you admit that you choose man-made religion instead of Christ inspired faith What do you gain by choosing something that leads to death instead of wanting eternal life? why? I am not calling it what I want .... I am giving you the tools to be free of a burden that so many have already learned but you have chosen to ignore, I'm sorry that your destiny will not be one of happiness and will be driven toward where Joseph Smith dwells now for all eternity with the demons and those without faith in the JESUS CHRIST who is the only way, truth and life. Call LDS what you want my friend, but you can't call it true.
Hale Hafa Yes, effort and time, because we love others and want to spread the true Gospel, one that does not attempt to demote Jesus Christ to a subordinate “god” rather than the eternal, unchanging GOD. I am always willing to spend effort and time to try to save brothers and sisters from damnable heresy and the eternal fire, because I love you and because I love our Savior and want you to truly know Him and worship Him for who He is (who He always has been and always will be) rather than a fictionalized version of Him (created by a known conman) that is criminally, wickedly diminished and who cannot save you.
@Hale Hafa as you can see, we are not trying to agitate you or make you feel bad. If you went to a good restaurant or watched a good movie, you often want to tell others of that good news despite not receiving any compensation or rewards. Also, if you discover a bad restaurant or really bad movie or book, you would also want to warn others again without reward just out of compassion and care. None of us gets anything for warning you about LDS. So why would we invest our time and effort to lie to you? Just like the restaurant or movie, we need to share our compassion to help you. If someone was involved in something that would hurt them, would you not help them understand? Many smoke cigarettes or do drugs despite the warnings and evidence of the problems. LDS has evidence of problems and contradictions but like the smoker, alcohol abuser and drug user, you must understand and want the truth. Otherwise, those man made things like drugs, alcohol and LDS will harm you.
Hale Hafa Personally I love Mormons. I work with many and have many close relationships with Mormons. It is why I am all the more pained that you are deceived by a doctrine of demons. You sign off with a quote by known conman Joseph Smith - this says much. We should rely on the Word of God Himself, not a flawed, misguided and possibly knowingly Luciferian man. Does it not give you the slightest pause that your faith has many parallels with Luciferianism? Does it not raise a red flag? I say this out of genuine love and concern for you, not any animus or sense of superiority. Far from it!
When I first encountered Mormonism, I didn't know what they believed. I wish that I had looked these things up before I went to high school because I think that I might have been a much better witness. Thank you for teaching this stuff-- it's helpful. P.S. There are some guys who do street ministry to Mormons in Arizona and put the conversations up on TH-cam
if you are witnessing to mormons, thank you very much for your time and efforts. there are people i would like to see free of the curse of mormonism. as far as being a more effective witness: the greeks demand logic, and the jews demand sacrifice, but god has chosen the foolishness of preaching. so if you were preaching even if it was foolish, the rest is up to god.
Thank you, Mike. I was, raised Christian and many of my classmates were Mormon. I still, live in Idaho and care a lot about the many friends and co-workers, I have. My, mother was from Ohio. So, she grew up having knowledge of their bitter past. Now, that I am almost sixty the whole history is intriguing to me. It is, wonderful to have these studies to navigate and put it all together.
I was raised mormon and I'm currently working out if I believe in God and all the celestial beliefs (not due to anything other than my thinking) and I found this really interesting. The only main thing I noticed that isn't necessarily true is that being saved by his grace isn't because of our works like you said. It is fully from jesus, they just believe that you have to show that you believe it, accept, and you're heart truly is towards God. The acts part talked about is more of us showing we've had that change of heart and are trying to show that we've accepted him into our lives and his grace since we're sent down here top use our agency and choose him again
Hey, I’m LDS and believe essentially all the orthodox Christian statements; there are people the church who pervert the gospel and people who dislike the church that make up rumors about what we believe. There were a lot of points in the video but the big 3 I’ll say is that: we believe God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, salvation is completely through faith- works are an essential expression that are a mirror demonstrating you really have faith (“by grace are ye saved by through faith” but “faith if it hath not works, is dead” Ephesians 2:8, James 2:17. We do not believe we can become gods of our own planet, and the 3 kingdoms of glory are a places where people would be most comfortable- for to put the wicked in the presence of the most righteous would only make them feel out of place. The highest level of glory is attained through truly living the gospel, it is freely open to Catholics, Protestants, LDS, even those such as Marcus Aurelius will have an opportunity to accept Jesus (we believe in the spirit world before judgment, that everyone will have an opportunity to accept Christ even if they didn’t get a chance in this life) and go to the Celestial Kingdom.
Bro stop. In order to be with Heavenly Father and exalt you have to be married And sealed in the temple. Within the celestial there is levels. Those sealed and endure till the end you Will be exalted to Godhood.
@@jonycruz2430 While the doctrine of exaltation is true, temple ordinances like sealing will have an opportunity to be done during the millennium before the judgment; if those who didn't complete those ordinances during their life are locked out of the celestial kingdom because they never even heard the Word while on Earth, how would that be fair for all of God's children?
@@dylanzywicki bro if I my suggest reading to an advance brother in the LDS what you’re writing. It isn’t the fullness. The celestial kingdom has levels as we, levels for those who are single and never married, and those who are married to become Gods. Other denominations can not enter into the celestial kingdom cuz in order to do so you must acknowledge that Joseph smith is the prophet and that it’s the true church. Joseph smith will have a judgment seat at judgment day. And yes the part about being Gods On another plant is true. It’s how Heavenly Father became a God and came here. And his father before him and so on. This is always why women are sealed by heavenly mother in the temple, to bless them as they become mothers in another world.
@@jonycruz2430 In the spirit world all people will have the opportunity to learn of the Gospel and accepts all its beleifs/ordainces before the judgment, so other Christians, like people who never even heard the name Jesus, will have the chance to enter the celestial kingdom. If that were true, God would not be the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow; the same from everlasting to everlasting. Where does it say that in the scriptures?
💯! being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I can 100% attest that this is true. It can be so confusing talking to someone using the same language and terminology that I am and finding out halfway through the conversation that were talking about completely different things!
I know right! This sermon is one of the reasons Joseph Smith is a prophet. He told the truth regardless of how unpopular it was with the rest of Christianity.
@@robertrosskopf4641, some Disney movies really make me feel good, so they must be true and doctrinally sound (even though the Disney presentations are typically much different from the Brothers' Grimm version.)
Hi there. I am a former Mormon and in the video, you asked us to share with you what brought me out. I would love to share it with you but I would prefer to email my story to you because its kind of detailed. But I left because I didn't want to be a hypocrite but I honestly thought the problem was me and not the Mormon church.
I had two mormon missionaries with me because I invited them. I wanted to help them see how you can actually be saved by accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior. I explained a lot about it, and they seemed to accept everything I said. One thing was very important to me and that is one of them said that they believed totally in the virgin birth, in other words that Mary was overshadowed by the Holy Spirit, and not the terrible thing they really believe about Mary. Also, they never tried to bring the book of Mormon in the picture and also they did not give those pamphlets about Joseph Smith to me. I keep on praying for them that they will REALLY accept everything I shared with them and that they will in the end leave this false church.
When it comes to the Trinity, I love what my husband shared with me once. God is like the states of matter- specifically water. There is a solid, liquid, and gas. They are different from one another, yet they are the same! Of course, God is not literally those things, but it's an awesome analogy, no? 😊
I get it, but that analogy really teaches modalism, which is heretical. God does not manifest in different modes like water. I prefer to use the analogy of time. The present isn't the past or the future; the past isn't the present or the future; and the future isn't the present or the past; yet all three are time.
As a Trinitarian, I like to think God is a ventriloquist. According to the Bible, he threw his voice at his baptism to fool everybody into thinking they were separate beings. He loves to fool people apparently. This three-headed Trinitarian God even prays to himself and asks things of himself...amazing! Wow!
@@johnlee1352 Only to those who try to limit God. But that is what Mormons do. You believe God isn't eternal. That God had a beginning as a mortal man on a different planet. That God served his God. An infinite regression of Gods. Polytheism is what Mormons teach. The deification of men into gods. Pagans taught that too. But unlike Pagans, Mormons teach that humans will become almighty Gods, rulers of universes. Sounds just like what Satan wanted.
Great message Mike. I wish this would have been done a few years ago. I will be using this and studying it again to be a better witness. Great work pastor Mike.

Ex-Mormon here, just want to clarify a couple things. Around 23:00 you make a remark about mormons believing in "working hard and burning off sins in hell to ascend into the telestial kingdom". Actually, this concept doesn't exist in mormonism per se. When I was on the mormon church I was always taught that no one goes to Hell, no matter what they do, unless they have committed the sin against the Holy Spirit. Joseph Smith actually says this in the very sermon you cited. Unsurprisingly, their meaning of the sin against the Holy Spirit is tinged somewhat by their meaning of salvation and other mormon doctrine. It's a thing that makes me relieved that their lies are untrue, because as an apostate from the church, even if I was Christian, I'd still be going to Hell for rejecting the Mormon Jesus and his plan and doctrine.
I was born into the Mormon church and left when I was 18. I'm now 50 and I honestly don't remember a lot of this stuff. I went to the 4 year seminary during high school. My mom went back to the church and I have cousins and aunts and uncles still in the church. I pray for them to be delivered daily. My mom will be coming to live with me and I'm working up the courage and my knowledge to speak to her about this. It's definitely hard when they do shut you off when you try to talk to them about this. Please pray for me to have the wisdom and words to speak to her.
@@jimbomanzano4785 I left because I became rebellious and was kicked out of the house. My step-dad was already in the process of having the family leave the church. I didn't go to any church for years. I lived a very sinful life and then found Jesus when I was 43.
@jimbomanzano4785 I had family praying for my salvation and basically one night, I found out my grandmother was dying and I was tired of drinking but couldn't do it on my own, so I broke down and prayed. I was saved that night. I've been going to non-denominational Christian churches.
I’m sorry about the circumstances in your life. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints may not be for you, but I had found happiness and a good life with my family for being faithful members of the restored Church of Jesus Christ for 48 years now. Which non-denominational church are you attending? What is its name?
I would recommend starting with the new testament. I would also recommend supplementing your study of the new testament with the writings of St Thomas Equines and Kierkegaard.

I am a born again Christian saved by Gods grace. I am so grateful. I was raised Mormon, generational Mormon, meaning everyone was and still is and if they aren’t they still have Mormon lens guiding their life but don’t associate with the religion. Thank you Mike for taking the time to articulate the extreme differences of Mormonism and Christianity. Absolutely everything you shared was true and there was a time I believed “their truth” not Gods’ Truth. By choice, and brainwashing of testimony and pushing things to the side, justifying that I’m not like the other Mormons. Anyways I could tell my entire story but that’ll get lengthy i simply want to comment on the question you asked. “what shook me out of it?” Answer: an earnest desire to know the truth. All I wanted was to know God and to follow him. So I needed to be sure that what I clung so tightly too was truly from God. My eyes being opened was purely from God, all glory to Him. There was absolutely nothing anyone could’ve said or done to change my heart only he could. I share this for anyone that has friends, family members, anyone you know that is Mormon this can’t come from a place of convincing because it won’t work. Logic is pretty much out the window with this cult. (and all for that matter) the change of heart is from God alone. The best thing you can do is PRAY for them and if fitting share Gods message. (Verses from the Bible.) and be patient. This didn’t happen instantly there was a lot to process, re-wiring everything I thought I knew. It’s a very humbling process.
Hi Pastor Mike, Thank you for posting this video thought provoking video. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and because of this video, I have been able to share my religion with a good friend. This video enlightened him to ask what we believe and if what you said was true. I hope I am able to share with him a Book of Mormon that he may know for himself, if the teaching are truly inspired from God. Great work and keep up the discussion! God bless, my friend!
Dear Rascal, I feel the Lord put on my heart to let you read this. I do know you know some of what I am about to say, I am only in hopes of you being able to see the correlation. In the beginning Satin came to this Earth because he had sinned against God, he tried to make himself above God so God cast him out of Heaven. Then when God made first man the Devil talked to them in the Garden and told Eve a lie and Eve believed it, so sin entered all man. Satin has continued to Deceive man from that day forward. You see Satin hates God so much; he also knows that in the end he will be cast into Hell forever along with his demons. He is working hard to take as many people to hell as he can, and he can only do that by deceiving us. Here is the Point I hope that you will be able to take to your heart. If I am lied to or deceived by someone no matter who it is, it is going to take some time and maybe even never that I will be able to trust that person again. If I am lied (deceived)to I for sure will not be going back to that person to get some truth because that person has lost my trust. So here Joseph Smith said with the very first version of the Book of Mormon, that it was the most correct book in all the Earth because it was Divinely Inspired. (The Bible (KJV) is correct, the meanings of this Bible has never needed correction. PERIOD!) This is Joseph word which should mean something to everyone that listens to him. I can show you verses in that original 1830 version that he changed some most important attributes of God Himself. I am going to show you only one verse and this should make you see that he lied to us even from the very start, He tells us most correct book and that it was inspired by God. Please tell me how God who knows everything from beginning to end would not know His nature, in that He would have to give joseph another vision to correct His mistakes in the first version? Original 1830 Text (1 Nephi 3, p. 32): “These last records … shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that the Lamb of God is the Eternal Father and the Savior of the world.” Current, Altered Text (1 Nephi 13:40) “These last records … shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that the Lamb of God is the Son of the Eternal Father and the Savior of the world.” Here is my point what will you do? Will you keep going back to the people that have lied to you in the first place (your churches so-called prophets and Joseph books) and you will think that maybe this time they will be honest with you and that they will now tell you the truth. If people will lie to you about something that is so very important as where our souls will be in Eternity, they will certainly lie to you to explain why these verses have been changed, when you come back to them and ask about these mistakes, asking them why did they change something as important as to the Deity of God? Do you really think now they are going to be honest with you? Of course not. They lied to you once because they have been deceived by the god of this World in the first place and so therefore, he is not going to tell them the truth now because even they have believed in a lie, they are not going to say okay this time we’ll be honest with you, they can’t do that because they too have been deceived. If they have deceived once they will deceive over and over, that can only change when they realize that they to have been deceived, only until they also see the truth in Gods Word the Bible because the Book of Mormon has proven itself to be false in so many places, and yet you are so willing to keep going back to the Mormon church and it doctrine, so they can explain, how can they explain honestly if they themselves don’t know what honest or the truth really is. Every time that you have a question and go back to the books of the Mormon church or to go to the Apostles of that church to explain what certain things mean they will give you whatever it takes to make it sound okay in your ears to make it sound satisfactory and you buy into it. What you need to do is go outside of your church and the books of the Mormon church, to get answers that are true and from God Himself and that place is the Word of God the Bible, it has been the same yesterday, today and forever. God clearly states that His Word WILL NOT pass away. There is NO corruption in Gods Word because it is the true Word of God. I am so thankful that I found the truth and it did not take a man to tell me his truth, which was only deception from the very beginning, and I have given you only one verse out of Book of Mormon showing you the falsehood. What the Mormon do not realize that the Devil is alive and well today, the same Devil that deceived Adam and Eve is the same being that is deceiving those today. When Satin tried to be above God, God cast him out of Heaven. Satin hates God so much that he is trying to deceive as many people as he can before God puts him away forever, he is constantly starting new religions with falsehoods, and each one of these new belief systems that start up, will say that they are the one and true church. The Mormons are no different, do you really think that because they say they are the one and true church that that is true? The only way we can know if it is of God, we must check it with Gods Word the Bible because it is the only accurate Book. We cannot take any other book to see if the Bible is true because they are not Gods Word. Other books can only be tested to the Word of God the Bible to see if that book is accurate, not the other way around. Religions such as Jehovah Witnesses, Atheism, Scientology, New Age, Mormonism, etc. Jehovah Witnesses - believe that Jesus is not God. Atheism - Don’t believe in God. Scientology - belief in God is not necessary. New Age - believe we are mini gods. Mormonism - believe man was before God. Hutterites - they don’t believe Father, Son and Holy Spirit are equal in nature or substance. May I ask you what do each of these beliefs have in common? They have taken the Deity out of God! Again, I will reiterate the god of this World (Satin) so hates God that he wants mankind to not give Him His place of Preeminence. I hope that this will strike an accord in your heart so that you can lead your family and many others to the true Lord Jesus, they cannot find him in the doctrine of the Mormon church but a good God-fearing Church.
It really does create a major culture of shame or extreme pride in yourself. It is not a good place to be in my opinion. We are taught to only listen to our feelings on "Gospel" things. It is a hard core push to "know" that the church is true. There is no evidence and it really surprised me to learn that Christians do have evidence for the Bible and the stories told in it.
Hi Mike, Keep this up. as an ex-mormon , I have to say that there is not enough exposure into the specifics of their doctrine from the outside. As an atheist, there is few things i enjoy more than watching religious people attack each other. Maybe you can do the Jedi next?
I spent several months last year talking with Mormon missionaries. I was truly aghast the deeper we delved into Mormon teachings. My heart went out to the very young men, whom to me are just boys, yet classified as "elders"(you may get to that in this video) as they are separated from family, with only emails on Sundays, and if I'm not mistaken there was one or two phone calls allowed in the entire 2 years away from home. Then they have constant and continual companionship of another "elder". Never out of sight from one another. They have super strict rules, some make sense and provide safety, etc, but others in my opinion, are domineering, controlling, mentally & emotionally manipulative and abusive. Interesting how the Mormons project a wholesome, honest Christian belief publicly, but behind that curtain is some dark juju.
I have liked every LDS member i've ever met. I went to a thanksgiving at this member's house, it was awesome...friendly people, lots of food and great company.
Mike, I hope more people can truly see this especially our Mormon friends. I hope you can change/ add to the title (later day saints) so more of the Mormon members can see this. 🙏 (Since they recently changed their names and refuse to be called Mormons.) Honestly, I think the reason the Mormon leaders decided to do that is so their members stop googling "Mormon" and find truth.
Can you tell me which verses support the trinity? Also, why would Jesus say not my will, but my father's will be done? If Jesus is God, then he is saying not my will be done, but at same time, my will be done.
Me. I was Mormon. My family was Mormon back to Joseph Smith. The thing that shook my mind free the most was the Abraham scrolls and when I watched 'the Prophet' (President now) lie on national TV about beliefs we had been taught and were told was from God my entire life. I got angrier and angrier as I watched the church practice deception and their logic was spinning. I had learned to hate deception in my life and I knew what it looked like. It helped that I was always a truth seeker. I was always in the Bible and writing and trying to know God better. But I was still trapped in the feeling thing. And the giant fear to doubt it. It appeared so big and so strong and everybody said it was true! I thought the sheep's clothing was proof enough... Eventually the wolf was so clear to me, that I saw what the Mormon church really was. If they could see that what they are calling 'fruit' is only sheep's clothing, they would see how big the lie is. It's a gloomy world out there without this big, worldwide family that God is watching over, with powerful people watching over you too, it's hard to leave that. Unless truth is all that matters, and you realize that the church produces closet sinners, you'll think their apparent righteousness and goodness proves it's true. That's why all the pornography, all the power Trip narcissists, the suicides, all the unloving worthiness interviews etc etc are eating away at these people. They don't have Christ to cover their sins, they are all suffering so much under that load (Families can Be Together Forever!* IF you can quit sinning!!) It's a hidden terror they all carry. Tell them it's ok, we're all family if they think about it. Think that through!! Anyway.... Sorry so long. It's a brutal journey. Be happy if you plant seeds. This is a step by step journey. It takes time.
"when I watched 'the Prophet' (President now) lie on national TV about beliefs we had been taught and were told was from God my entire life. " Please give us the link to the EXACT QUOTE where he did not tell the truth. Not the antiMomon version of his words. Thanks.
Eric Davis yes, the first Stone was cast at me when I was 14…pulled out of my class at young women's, and interrogated about my worthiness. I was asked explicit sexual questions with an older man behind closed doors, who said he needed to8 know if I masturbated. I didn't know what that meant, so he explained in detail. Then he asked me if I touched other girls, I said no, he explained in detail what that was. He traumatized me. He stole some of my innocence. Telling people that something is a lie is just telling the truth. The Bible says test the spirits to see if they are of God. But Mormons use gaslighting and ad hominem every single time I've interacted with one of them . It's a tired argument to attack me instead of coming up with a substantive rebuttal. My husband came out by the grace of God but simply reading the Bible with me. I would just ask him how that lines up with his theology when it came up with conflicts and discussed what the Trinity was since there are so many misunderstandings around this doctrine. After he read the Bible, he read the Book of Mormon and that solidified the fact that Joseph Smith was a false prophet for him. When witnessing, I show them bible verse and try to ask only ask questions about scriptures because it is not attacking that way.
I couldn't agree more! If mormons really believe they are christians, then read the Bible, they will actually find that the Bible contradicts the book of mormon to it's very core.
@@all4jesus594 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1... You said that this explicitly said that God jesus Christ and the holy ghost where one being... I don't follow
Mike, Your about the only guy I now first go to for some clarity- my pastor isn't available for long lengthy talks like I get here..you cover it really well. As a single man in his sixties, I still feel like 27 .. I was more patient then than now and in certain cases I can be patient..but I don't feel bad if a JW gets offended by my biblical knowledge anymore..it's their choice to not listen to reasonable doctrine that they never got.
Met the two most adorable North American missionaries today, two young men, all the way over here in England! 🇬🇧 Their mouths fell open when I told them I love Jesus Christ; they were so gosh darn sweet, but I politely told them not to waste their time on me 😂
As a Mormon and former evangelical Christian, I can relate. An outsider may wonder at these terms used by evangelicals: 1. Non-denominational 2. Born again 3. Saved 4. I Gave My Life to Christ 5. Grace 6. Spirt of Promise 7. Trinity 8. Speaking in Tongues 9. Prosperity Gospel 10. True Christian 11. Jesus of the Bible 12. Married for Time on Earth Only
My wife is a mormon, and with a thumbnail with mike making that face towards the book, shes going to say," well he's obviously bias, what's to stop him from spouting misinformation?"
And that's how cults keep members. The thing that was so crazy to me when I left the mormon church was everyone would want you to ask questions, study, voice your doubts, etc. It was so different from the "doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith" sentiment I had been taught.
I’m so glad it’s ok that I feel burdened, I’m talking to this older woman at my work lately who is Mormon, well at least she says she’s Christian, but she’s really Mormon. It just breaks my heart feel like I’m gonna cry all the time, I really do wish that they were saved and she knew the truth, but it’s just so hard to watch someone, on the brink of tears because of how hard their life is and then believing that they chose that somehow, but then try to ground themselves in false teachings, then say to me that I’m wrong, that God isn’t quite enough and that there’s three of them it’s just hard. It’s just so sad to watch her struggle, I can see a small fragment of her looking like a child that needs a hug and to hear Jesus say that he loves her unconditionally. And then in an instant see a prideful woman who thinks she’ll be a god. It breaks my heart! It doesn’t help that I’m probably 20-30 year younger then her so she see me as naïve. Please pray for her!
You mock the sacred things of God. Matt.7[6] Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

No other Gospel Galatians 1 Paul : if I or an Angel preach another Gospel it is a Curse Mormonism is a false religion
@ cdowis - read Matthew 22. Joseph Smith mocks the sacred words of Jesus. Jesus says - you and I will not marry nor be given into marriage when we are resurrected, but will be like the angels... Joseph Smith says - don’t listen to what Jesus says, you will be married in heaven and you won’t be like the angels ... you can actually become a god. Who is mocking who?
Mike, have you covered the doctrine of the openness of God? Also, have you discussed the similarity between Mormonism and Islam? There are a number of very troublesome similarities. Hugh
Thanks Mike for a very enlightening and educational conversation on Mormonism vs. Christianity. It really clarified a lot of fuzziness I had about Mormonism. It’s no wonder I have never vibed with Mormonism. As a born again saved Christian I would consider Mormonism a bastardized form of Christianity and heresy and thus not really Christianity at all. Your discussion of the two dictionaries really helped me put this puzzle together and to connect the dots. Mormon theology is totally anti Christian although the vocabulary is similar. This is personal for me because I was gaslit by several Mormon missionaries who tried to convince me they believe about God and Jesus as I do. But they don’t! They were just trying to trick me into getting baptized even though I explained to them I was baptized as a Catholic infant and then much later as born again adult Christian. It didn’t matter to them. They said my baptisms didn’t count because they weren’t performed by the Mormon priesthood . Mormons falsely believe you are saved by water. As a born again Christian we are saved by the Spirit of Christ through the Holy Spirit. For us Christians our salvation is not dependent on water baptism. It is only done as public display of one’s New Life as a New Man in Christ through Grace. Baptism is seen as a confirmation of an inner transformation. Baptism didn’t save Jesus. It was just an outer symbol of his mission as the Messiah and the Christ or Son of God. Mormons view baptism much differently than evangelical born again Christians. I feel Mormons are trying to gaslight Christians to get them to convert to Mormonism so they can harvest that mandatory 10% tithe money. Money seems very important to the Mormon church worth $245 billion dollars which also makes it anti Christian. Jesus was an ascetic and taught asceticism and simplicity and admonished against riches. Mormonism seems very materialistic and even their God is anthropomorphic, not truly transcendental. I find the irrational Mormon teachings a complete mindf*ck and I find the Mormon religion a complete clusterf*ck! Thank you Mike for clearing up some confusion I had and shining a spotlight on a few of irreconcilable differences and inconsistencies between Mormonism and Christianity. It really helped! I hope active Mormons will hear your podcast and question the Mormon religion as many other Mormons have done including yourself. I see Mormonism as a very cult like religion and far more pernicious than I ever initially suspected. It’s right up there with the Church of Scientology and that’s not verbalized as a hyperbolic statement. ✨☀️✨ ✨☀️✨🌘🌞🌒✨☀️✨.
I feel so happy that I know ❤️
Awful , experience in your past marriage.. glad you are free. .
Delighted to hear you came to know the one true God. Praise be to him!
I know you posted this 2 years ago but I still recommend that talk with everything I have
So happy for you, I left also, very sad what happen to you, but God rescued you and that is amazing.
ExMormon here. I'm trying to purge myself of all the indoctrination and this really helps clarify what Christianity is.
As if this video wasn't indoctrination...
God Bless you! Heaven rejoices at your entrance to the kingdom of God!
The purging takes years but is worth it.
God has got you ❤️
I feel ya! I'm pretty much in the same boat
God speed sister 💕
Thank you for sharing your experience. Praying that the Lord continues to lead you 💗🙏
@shayla
Thank You for answering Mike's question of how to reach our LDS friends!!
I’m thinking about and praying for you!
I will be praying for you, it's not an easy thing to take up your cross and follow Jesus ❤

They did NOT tell you to lie. That is a lie, liar.
Who else ran to the comments section when he said “there will be comments in there of Mormons saying ‘we don’t believe this’”

When I look back when I was a mormon, I’m amazed at how much idolatry was in my heart.
Thanks for leaving...and taking your idolatry with you!
John Lee,
I believe you’ve already told me “good riddance” and I was “dead weight anyway.” If this wasn’t you, my apologies.
Much better to bear the mocking words, “thanks for leaving...and taking your idolatry with you!” from men, than to hear the Lord say,‘…I never knew you; depart from Me, you worker(s) of lawlessness!’ Mt 7:22,23
The idols I speak of - and trusted in - were men; the leaders of the church. Any member would know full well what I mean by that. As an apparent enemy, I forgive and bless you anyway and. pray you will seek and find the LORD as I did 33 years ago. 🕊
Behold His Glory Amen to your prayer . May the Holy Spirit minister to brother John.
@@beholdhisglory1657 what kind of idolatry??
We also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God."
So basically, when in doubt, go with what Joseph taught, because he brought us the restored true gospel of Christ, or so I thought.
I want to relate and empathize with you, but I just can't even imagine a polygamous marriage so I will just say "praise Jesus that you found your way out"
Amazing!!! Praise the Lord!

You hit the nail on the head. LDS market a life style but sell a lie. It cost 10% of your gross earnings to be part of the life style. FOR LIFE.

Your first problem was paying any attention to Joel Osteen. I can't think of many in the Christian sphere as detestable as Osteen.
Thanks once again!

people always go to works based righteousness because it removes God and promotes self. when you have works you can legitimately be proud and self righteous. you can impress people with works and also it suits people who want every aspect of their lives controlled for them.
*GodsWordSaves7 says:* "people always go to works based righteousness because it removes God and promotes self."*
*JediMormon corrects:* LDS don't.

The LDS actually teaches that Jesus is "Jehovah". Imagine a Mormon missionary meeting a JW.
What's wrong with jesus being Jehovah?
"“And he said unto me: Behold, the virgin whom thou seest is the mother of God, after the manner of the flesh." (1 Nephi 11)
This one verse caused confusion among the members, and Joseph Smith later changed it to "mother of the Son of God", but to the Jews, Jehovah was their God.
"God presides in the divine assembly; he renders judgment among the gods" (v.1)
This isn't a typo.
"I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High." (v.6)
So Jesus is explaining that God was calling the other members of the divine council "gods", thus making "god" a title.

Thanks for leaving so we didn't have to throw you out.

Excellent video! I've learned so much through these studies. I really appreciate how you share this information, with love and grace. You don't bash, you just share the truth in love. Thank you Mike and God bless you!
Thanks Mike, I have a Mormon uncle that talks about these same teachings. I now know how to reply to his questions.
Hey Mike,
This is so great. My wife and children left the lds church after studying the historical and scriptural problems with the church. This is a very simple yet comprehensive video to help people distinguish traditional Christianity and mormonism. Good work.

Hey Mike. I love your videos. Please can you do one debunking or refuting “Christian universalism”. Thanks
They won’t stop either, they found me in Afghanistan, and in backwoods Louisiana.
Can you clarify? Do they stalk you guys???

Thank you so much for doing this! I’m exmormon and have been trying to explain all this to my family and it’s near impossible. They won’t listen without interjecting and denying what they believe. I can’t get (I grew up 22 years Mormon, I’ve been through the temple, I know the doctrine) they deny all of this when I’ve had discussions about gods god and worlds without number with them before I left. Now they act like they never said that. I am going to sit down and watch this with them next time! I appreciate the sources given and level headedneas🙏

As a non practicing Mormon, i agree here. Perversion is a innate trait of all humanity.

Hi there.
I am a former Mormon and in the video, you asked us to share with you what brought me out. I would love to share it with you but I would prefer to email my story to you because its kind of detailed. But I left because I didn't want to be a hypocrite but I honestly thought the problem was me and not the Mormon church.
The church of lsd and narcissism?
Wow!

I love hearing more about Joseph's Myth. Thanks,
I was born into the Mormon church and left when I was 18. I'm now 50 and I honestly don't remember a lot of this stuff. I went to the 4 year seminary during high school. It's definitely hard when they do shut you off when you try to talk to them about this. Please pray for me to have the wisdom and words to speak to her.

I think Joseph Smith must have been interested in Greek/Roman myths. That polytheism is similar to the Mormon theology.
His main interest was little girls.
There is a bit more evidence that he was interested in ancient Sumerian which pre-dates Greek and Roman but seems to serve as a basis of both.

“what shook me out of it?”
Answer: an earnest desire to know the truth.
(Verses from the Bible.)
and be patient. This didn’t happen instantly there was a lot to process, re-wiring everything I thought I knew. It’s a very humbling process.
Hi Pastor Mike,
Thank you for posting this video thought provoking video.
How did this video help you keep up the lie?
Dear Rascal,
I feel the Lord put on my heart to let you read this.
“These last records … shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that the Lamb of God is the Eternal Father and the Savior of the world.”
Current, Altered Text (1 Nephi 13:40)
“These last records … shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that the Lamb of God is the Son of the Eternal Father and the Savior of the world.”
Here is my point what will you do?
Truth is very deFINITIVE 😆 You're a good guy Mike. You're doing a very good thing from a sincere heart. I like ya 👍
Josie Smith Yes you are right.
It's the reason why mormon strongholds have such a high rate of teenage suicides.
Zinga Zanga I didn't know that. :(
Until you realize that missionaries serve voluntarily

I have liked every LDS member i've ever met.
I went to a thanksgiving at this member's house, it was awesome...friendly people, lots of food and great company.
Mike, I hope more people can truly see this especially our Mormon friends. I hope you can change/ add to the title (later day saints) so more of the Mormon members can see this. 🙏 (Since they recently changed their names and refuse to be called Mormons.) Honestly, I think the reason the Mormon leaders decided to do that is so their members stop googling "Mormon" and find truth.
Thank you so much for sharing these! I’m a Christian missionary trying to minister to Mormons
Please give us the link to the EXACT QUOTE where he did not tell the truth. Not the antiMomon version of his words.
Thanks.
you still in the dark.
I wish you all the best.
Fabled Creature + He/she who is without sin cast the first stone..............
Protectldschildren.org
Watching this all for the first time. Good stuff, you earned my sub.
Thanks for drawing the deadwood out of our church...we're stronger for it.
Can you provide some verses that exusivly says that god Jesus and the holy spirit are one and the same. every claim needs evidence.

Ex Mormon here. THANK YOU! So true!
Loving your videos recently, really solid teaching so thank you. A request... could you do a video on 1 Corinthians 11 (head covering)??
It’s been 3 years since this comment, but Mike came out very recently with a 6 hour video on this topic
Happy New Year!
Mormonism is definitely an emotional experience, not an intellectual one that can stand intellectual scrutiny. Well said!!
Wow Thank YOU you are a GREAT teacher!!!!
An outsider may wonder at these terms used by evangelicals:
1. Non-denominational
2. Born again
3. Saved
4. I Gave My Life to Christ
5. Grace
6. Spirt of Promise
7. Trinity
8. Speaking in Tongues
9. Prosperity Gospel
10. True Christian
11. Jesus of the Bible
12. Married for Time on Earth Only
Why did you go from Christianity to Mormonism?
Me too!!! I’m so glad I found the true church of Jesus Christ!!
My wife is a mormon, and with a thumbnail with mike making that face towards the book, shes going to say," well he's obviously bias, what's to stop him from spouting misinformation?"
Don't listen to Mike. Read the Bible and learn the truth. "Thy word is truth. John 17:17
Jesus said, "Follow Me."
And that's how cults keep members. The thing that was so crazy to me when I left the mormon church was everyone would want you to ask questions, study, voice your doubts, etc. It was so different from the "doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith" sentiment I had been taught.
He must have changed the thumbnail since you wrote this since it’s just his smiling face next to the title of the video.
Maybe he noted your comment.

Great video I didnt realize the differences so great!

38:51 there is no clapping in the mormon church. The only time they do it is after a baptism, never in church.
