Hogan dressed up like 'hello fellow up-and-coming, young wrestlers!'
Great steve buscemi reference
They say Konnan was nowhere to be found, I think Hogan stole his clothes
Lol his jealousy of the popularity of the red and black and forcing himself into it helped further the downfall of WCW. I stopped switching back and forth at that point n kept the channel on Raw
I’m surprised they didn’t come out to the low rider song.
Hogan waited for future GTA games to drop :D
5:48 Hulk Hogan living in 3023 with that style
Still live by that style.
I'm surprised he didn't make Konnan go back to the tin foil.
What about 4Life did you not get?
That Harley Davidson hat is dope tho
Hulk Hogan with his new look: “Let me tell you something, Vato!”
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
We did it! We've made it to the dark years of WCW.
I’m so excited😭
Berlin (Alex Wright) was the best thing about the latter days of WCW Imo.
Yeah, i wasn't watching during these years. I briefly began watching RAW instead, but not too long after, lost interest in wrestling altogether, & instead turned to music. Particularly the NU Metal bands that were coming out at the time.
@vincentprice9156, yeah, but it sucks that Berlyn didn't dance, lol.
Konnan not wearing an NWO shirt, but a shirt with Konnan wearing an NWO shirt is peak branding
Maybe representing that KDawg represents himself rather than the new evil Wolfpack.
I thought my eyes were deceiving me... A reliving the war on a Sunday YAAAAY
He mentioned it in last Thursdays episode.
@@StageRight123 I must've missed it. And I'm glad I did because it made today special lol
Can't help but feel the words of Tenay, Tony, and Heenan resonate a lot even though it's entirely kayfabe, given the domino effect that would affect WCW.
Wouldn't be surprised if Bischoff simply told them "Just say how you really feel about it".
Great day of Irish wrestling content. This is a great video to watch before a new osw. RESPECCCC to wrestling bios
I love you make a Coca-Cola joke and the next shot is Nash in front of a Pepsi machine. That’s unintentional comedy gold right there
Announcers "The worst thing to happen in WCW"
Russo "Wait until they get a load of me"😂
and next to him is a bucket of fake blood
That was the Atlanta Falcons team that went to the Super Bowl a month later (and lost), so it was a big deal at the time, especially to the crowd in the Georgia Dome.
They lost to the Lions today lol pay back for beating my Packers
20 to6 lol
Paul White having that real weight issue even at this time. Scott hall looks half there, really is sad knowing how Hogan made the whole wrestling scene in Atlanta. With that roster, and just a little less politics. What could've been...
Thursdays are gonna start getting a little more pivotal, especially with SmackDown getting ready to debut. I appreciate the work you've been putting in lately.
You know, it's not too much longer until Big Show leaves WCW for WWF.
Yeah only a few days and if I remember correctly he came out a month later on WWF at the st.valentines day massacre ppv
Yeah next weeks nitro is the last appearance of the Giant in WCW. It's going to be weird to see him as the Big Show again, since for the past almost 4 years, he's been the Giant to me thanks to RTW.
Extremely underutilized.
Imagine not knowing how to use a 7ft, 500lb giant that's athletic. Both WCW & WWE dropped the ball with him. Maybe he was the problem.
@@PancakeProductYeah especially when WWF loved to push the big guys to the moon. Maybe Show just didn’t connect with the fans.
his last match is on Nitro. once his contract was up he wound up signing with WWF as big show
This is just an aside, but I think putting Smackdown on network TV on a non cable channel was an underrated move in the war. A lot of us didn't have cable and getting that was killer.
I was in my early teens during these years and I remember not having cable in my room. Having a family that didn't care much for wrestling, I'd be able to catch Raw every other week but then Smackdown I was always able to catch thanks to the good ol bunny ears antenna. I definitely agree having SD on a basic network was a big deal.
Absolutely. A ton of exposure.
@@zacharyscott6779and on top of it, those first three or four years (especially when Jericho, Guerrero, and company got there, I'd argue it was the best damn wrestling show on TV.
@@zacharyscott6779I had small VHS/black and white tv😂. I not only caught that but real late at night on weekends I would catch USWA or some other second hand wrestling show on a secondhand local reject station.
I was really into wrestling at this time and Smackdown was the only way I could watch it regularly. What's funny is that by the time Smackdown became a regular show, WCW was garbage.
The return of WCW Blunder. Time to get my laugh on and see how things panned out
Thursday Blunder
Monday Bittro
&
Raw Is Bore
Imagine if Nitro would have started '99 with WCW all banding together after the finger poke of doom, and the veterans going to guys like Booker, Jericho, Malenko, Rey, etc. saying "We need you, it's now your time." and having the young blood beat down the nWo over '99 finally killing it and heading into the new millennium with the young guys taking the reigns.
The problem is that would be smart booking that would benefit WCW in the long run. And thats the exact opposite of WCW’s booking mindset.
@CardinalsLetsGo, that would've SO much better, & entertaining, than what we were actually "treated" to, instead!!!
That didn’t work for Hogan brother
Didn't VInce Russo try to do exactly that a year later? Didn't work so well.
@@martyklestadt6766 For a few reasons: 1. Russo’s an idiot. 2. They never had it happen organically. They just lumped all the younger guys together and said ‘you’re all working together to beat the older guys’. 3. The face/heel alignment shouldve been reversed. It wouldve made more sense from a booking standpoint to have the older guys be the heels (especially if youre going to call them something like The Millionaire’s Club) and align with Bischoff and Russo while the New Blood shouldve been the faces and trying to earn a spot for them and their generation.
Two episodes of RTW in one week? The wrestling gods doth smile upon us!
Hallelujah
Oooooooh yeah!!!!
He’s an animal
You mean jbl 😂😂
@@Hilversumborn AN ANIMAL! AN ANIMAL!!
@@HilversumbornAN ANIMAL! AN ANIMAL!
Me and my brother always laughed at that back slap by sandman and Kenyon taking that exaggerated bump into the pool
this Raven segment is incredible!
Also, props to Konnan for wearing an nWo Wolfpac shirt of himself wearing an nWo Wolfpac shirt
That pool bump from Kanyon was tremendous 😂
🤣 I honestly thought Hogan was just trolling Konan. Take the Harley Davidson toque out for a bandana and it looks like Wood from the Hood is in full effect.
Awesome to see WCW Thunder covered as well this week.
Best wrestling talker on TH-cam
12:39 This was a way of writing Eddie out after he was involved in a real life car accident
I posted this on the RtW this week but again big thanks to Wrestling Bios for doing this video on top of the regular episodes. You're the man!
I've said it before, but RtW has become as entertaining as the war itself. Being able to rewatch all these old matches, and relive the storylines, along with the rest of the channel... it really takes me back to the days of watching these shows each week and talking about them with friends.
Perry Saturn is so under rated
100% agreed on that !!
Hope he's OK, times have been rough on Saturn
@@ravinraven6913 * Underbooked, *under utalized *untapped
Happy?
@ravinraven6913 ,
He was totally heavyweight gold capable. World champion? Probably not, but things like US or the tag title stuff that came about for many in 1999 was certainly right for him.
Saturn had major skills.
His matches with Goldberg were some of Goldbergs most impressive.
Now he did lack mic skills, so that's a factor.
There are other smaller heavyweights who no one doubted could wrestle with the big dogs. Like Ric Flair, Bret Hart, Chris Bensnot, and Eddie Guerrero.
hope this kind of video can continue whenever an episode of Thunder or Smackdown airs that plays off of the previous Raw/Nitro
Or the very least the pivotal ones
Man 1999-2001 is gonna be rough for WCW at this point lol
Aside from the cruiserweights WCW had been getting rough since late summer 98.
@@PhenomsServant4 yeah I'll give you that lol
The fingerpoke of doom RTW episode is one of the episodes we have been all waiting since the start of the series no matter how much it backfired on WCW
@@ravinraven6913 wcws mistake was adding way to many ppl to the group and not coming up a game plan to watch them slowly dissolve another WCW mistake that backfired on them
Perry Saturn was so underrated. I feel like if the NWO wasn't so overbooked and more cruiser weights or midcard guys had a chance he could have been a top guy, super talented.
One of my favorite guys in WCW.
The first Thunder aired on January 8, 1998, so this was the 1 year anniversary of Thunder.
Watching this and thinking about how you talked about how wcw’s ratings stayed strong for the rest of the month, I wonder if fans thought Flair and Goldberg would crush the nwo and finally turn a corner for the show, only for things to remain as they ever were at that point and then the fans gave up and started to walk.
Wow thats a great point I dont think was ever brought up
Cause, sadly, WCW stories went no where
That's EXACTLY what we thought at the time. I was in 10th Grade. And most of my Classmates were WCW fans. The Fingerpoke of Doom sealed WCW's Fate. I returned to school the Next Day and saw students throwing away WCW T-Shirts and some of them saying they'd sell them and NWO shirts on eBay. Goldberg and Sting were OVER with fans and NOBODY liked Hogan at that point in time. He was a REVILED Heel in 1998-99. We were ALL SICK of the NWO by Early 1999 and wanted the Angle to DIE. And WCW Management refused to let it die. Alot of us were personally disappointed in Eric Bischoff for agreeing that NWO continue.
i hope you continue to cover Thunder and Smackdown if the episode is too important to just recap quickly. You always make us happy.
The Thunder/Q Tip remix is fiya! Was not expecting this video but thanks Wrestling Bios.
Bit of Sunday Bios, great way to finish the weekend.
Just finished watching the last episode when this one got uploaded. Had to take a bit to prepare myself for it, it was like going to a funeral.
Hogan dressed the way he was was hilarious as he looked like that dad that tried to dress cool and be apart of the in crowd.
Paul wight debuts for wwe feburary 14th😮
I was always a big fan of WCW Thunder. I watched it everytime I could.
A nice surprise to be sure.
RTW on sunday is great. thank you Wrestling Bios !
Apparently Hogan has just been seething with jealousy at Konan’s sartorial style for all of 98.
Ms. Judy Buffy wuffys proudest is when her baby boy got selected for elite and not B team
Apparently Kevin Trash was upset that Konnan was thw coolest Wolfpack guy.
Great video Bios. Your commentary gets better every year.
Hogan looks like an undercover cop with that new look 😂
He sure does look like one!! Who is he gonna arrest lol
5:57
On Joe Rogan, Tony Hinchcliffe said hanging out with Ric Flair even at 74 is like a movie. Women all around at the bar, 17 vodka cranberries and he's the same in real life as he is on TV.
Did you watch the episode tony and joe did with hogan?? It made me wanna puke . Hogan couldn’t help but make his usual sideways insults through compliments . And obviously rogan knows nothing about pro wrestling so he couldn’t call him out
What exactly is the problem here with any of this?
I miss the 90s
Me too
I love in the aftermath of the finger poke, the only guy excited in the hardcam shot. NWO shirt, black and white face paint, grabs his buddy or kid all jazzed. Good for that guy.
Seeing Hogan in Jncos and a flannel is priceless.
Whatcha gonna do

Your intro/editing? *mwah* chef's kiss!! Sooo polished I love it! Keep it up. I know it's said every episode. But by gawd I live for these uploads!
Can't wait to see a couple dozen more of these, as WCW spirals into madness. Thanks for another great entry, WB.

The best perspective of the Monday Night Wars on TH-cam Awesome content
Time to trim the fat
Made my Sunday. Bonus reliving the war.
You watching Football?
Great coverage man thank you for your work
The Fingerpoke of the doom was terrible funniest part of that was Kevin Nash's selling that was hilarious great video.
I was there for this! Thanks!
That impromptu “Thunder game review”in a nutshell was excellent 😂😂😂
This is a nice treat getting a bonus episode.
"How does someone like sandman fit into wcw"?
😂
He doesn't
Thank you for all your hard work we appreciate it more than you could ever know long live the king
Two things just want to say real fast one is thank you for the extra work avoiding my giving us the half episode the beast show whatever you want to call it but I think it's a big part of reliving the war and I know it's more work for you but I love how you did this and I would love it if you made a part of the series
I love the Sandman 'Jim' bits, so glad you covered this!!
I loved Hogan dressed like a Cholo.
It’s still amazes me that this series doesn’t get millions of views. Easily the best out there, it’s fuckin phenomenal
167.5 love it! By far my favorite youtube channel.
Always a great day when WrestlingBios posts! 🎉😊
Hogan wit da fit is insane
Always a good day when you upload a video
Totally re-watching this before today's episode of Reliving The RawNitro War.
😄👍
The aftermath of the *SMELL MY FINGER POKE OF DOOM*
We missed out on Hulk asking the LWO, "Que vas hacer, Hermano!?"
I agree with most that say the 'Fingerpoke of Doom' was beginning of the end of WcW, but as usual, let me play Devil's Advocate. It COULD have worked if they had Flair make a much bigger impression as Commish, such as he would the permanent CEO now of WcW as Bischoff gets permanently demoted to gopher (a staff member who fetches people and things) and Flair FINALLY gets his revenge on Hogan with some angle that cracks the NWO and maybe have Bret turn on them due to the pathetic match
OK, so Flair did have Bishof do a lot of humiliating things. I don't remember exact details. But I think had they done more it would just take away from wrestling and promo times.
Which was sometimes a blunder for WCW. Once they followed Flair outside for 30 minutes.
I agree on they should have had the war with the nWo come to some peak. Instead the nWo faded away.
The angle they went with for Flair was basically power corupts. He became the villian and Hogan became a wannabe Stone Cold.
If anything, the only real end of the nWo was when Flair beat Bishof on Nitro to become president.
Another thing that WCW blundered was letting Hogan stay champion through 2 PPVz. Flair should won in February, not March.
DDP should have been champion longer and passed it to someone new...and eventually back to Goldberg.
But the direction they picked was....Hogan & Sting....again. 🥱
This is so crazy. This was my first wrestling event as a kid. The only one my family could afford 😭. Brought back so many memories thank you 🙏.
JR: "Buster! Buster! Bah-Gawd! BAH-GAWD!"
I can't see The Giant leaving the NWO twice if anything they will apologise to him and put him on a major event
The next holiday is Valentines Day I can see him having a Big Show on Valentines Day
I think on that day, he'll feel Wight at home where he'll be.
Yes, Very Much enjoyed this and would love a way to see more.
😄👍
Haven’t been this excited for wrestling on a Sunday since SUNDAY NIGHT HEAT!
Great video as always dude! Take care!
Reliving the War covering an episode of Thunder? It's Christmas in September.
Loved the intro !
21:20 We've seen a lot of this DDT moves and selling in WWF Smackdown 2 : Know Your Role.
Sir, I must insist that your intro music does not forget the lies or the money because we're in this together and through it all.

The day of my 13th birthday!
Best channel on TH-cam by far love your content thank you so much
Giant's last match n show on Monday nitro. He doesn't resign n winds up signing w/ WWF as the Big Show.
Instead of Metallica's "Enter Sandman", WCW Sandman's theme song is "Mr. Sandman" by The Cordettes. 😆
Anyone else notice that Hogan unironically dressed up as Poochie from the Simpsons?
Booker’s face 😂😂 . TELL ME, You DIDN’T just DO THAT! 😅
Nice gynecomastia, Scotty Flamingo! Apparently Mommy Raven made sure her boy took his _vitamins_ to get big and strong...
Nice bonus video
I will never complain about an extra reliving the war, the reason could be anything
Honestly, I look way more forward to these episodes of R.T.W more than anything going on in the current wrestling landscape. Long live R.T.W. 👑
That intro 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I went to this live. It was my first wrestling show.
Nice little bit of Q-Tip in that intro!
