Fantastic , tried this at the range today. Started playing golf, last year. And have been strugling with a fade/slice. Today implementing this stuff, made me hit baby draws. This is going to change my golf game. Thanks Marcus.

In this video you’ve answered all my questions and I genuinely feel this has provided more insight into my swing than any lesson I’ve ever had. You deserve an MBE !

You're my new favourite golf coach Marcus, this makes so much sense. I've always set up straight to the target with driver with a forward ball position, could never hit a draw club always exited miles left, this set up and swing direction to the right with a free release is key.
Can feel this is gonna be huge for me in solving my driver. Hit every club straight and my 3w off the tee with a small draw yet try as I might I hit slices and push fades with my driver. When I try to hit a push draw, i hit a straight push or a snap hook.
Thank you first of all, I'm loving everything your saying, you know why it makes sense, because it's True, somethings jump out at me right away ,and this video grabbed me the whole way, outstanding knowledge, Thank you again for speaking my language! Awesome!

I agree please come to Florida. I need a lesson from these guys so bad. Or at least start a training school and certify some teachers in the Zen way so they can come here
Have been taught to keep the club face square to the path, that it was too difficult to time the rotation of the club to hit a good shot. I absolutely hate the way I hit my driver. I will be going to the range and work on this method. This makes so much more sense to me. Thanks!!
May I suggest you use the yellow hoop to show the movement around the ball of your feet to show the placement for the driver draw fade etc, visually easy to see and understand.
Marcus I’ve been watching your channel and really like what I’m seeing. I have ordered your training aids and hope they come soon across the pond. I use to play professionally back in the nineties but I’m 63 now and some things have changed physically 😮. Can you comment or do a segment on how the club length particularly for a driver can affect these motions. Drivers have become so long these days and I’ve shrunk to 5’-6” it seems when I choke down to 43.5” I can get around much better. I see a lot of lpga players doing that. Your insight would be appreciated.
watched 1,000 videos but this was unique and very very informative. Thank you, now off to get my driver and starting setting up to draw that ball or hit it straight!
I have been practicing zen the last couple months. I like the rotation of the rib cage technique. You really need to get in their especially with driver. Now I just need to work on my putting...
I've always said, and glad that you've confirmed it, that pulling the right leg back, effectively moves the ball more forward - a lot more forward so god knows why people are told to do that - seniors or otherwise.
We are not all pros ... and having had a lot of golf instruction, still this has never been well explained, so most "common golfers" are at a disadvantage since they don't know what they are doing and then when the results are not what they expect to see based on a faulty concept they get frustrated 😇
Just so much information. The D plane was really well explained. But the best info was if you’re all rotation and no arms, it’s impossible to get that path going out for a draw. Too much rotation will cause the club to swing back in left too soon.
This is amazing explanation that I havent seen anywhere else. This entire time my brain and my body have been trying to make everything square (stance, clubface, swing) - and now Im afraid Ive even tried to adopt an extremely strong grip to adapt for "being square" not working...lol. So how does grip relate to all of what you just described to this video? And yes Im about to go to the range now and experiment. Thank you for all you do!
Just an update - hit a few balls last night at Top Golf with the intention of trying to “not try” and hit a draw to explore the possibilities of movement . Good news is I hit a draw almost every time , albeit it was more like a hook , but still …had fun with it
@@GRFGolf maybe you could combine it with how the wrists cock during the backswing? Great video Marcus. I don’t think I freewheel the club head at all and thus struggle with an open club face yet am too afraid that if I do freewheel it, it’s going to duck-hook massively left! How do I get past this? Is it a feeling of the hands/wrists “rolling over” and how early in the downswing should we try to feel this happening? I noticed Matt Fitzpatrick last week in a slow motion swing that I paused (from down the live), that the palm of his trail hand was facing down the fairway when his hands appeared just above his lead shoulder in the follow through.
This is an amazing golf lesson & light bulb moment. Just one question you are squaring the club face essentially with the rotation of the trail hand. Are you pulling the club through with your left side or does it feel like you are throwing with your right? Can you go over the feeling of your wrist at impact? This is the area where I struggle with inconsistency.
For some reason i tried rolling/twisting the grip in middle of a round a cpl of years ago.It instantly gave me a 50yd hook like the ball was on a string! Frightened me so much I never tried it again!
Great as usual Marcus. Does at least part of this also apply to long irons and or hybrids and fairway woods or should they be treated like irons with a downward angle of attack and less extreme body set up to get the draw?
Marcus, do you have a video somewhere that takes about low point with the irons? I really struggle with getting the low point out in front of the ball.
I have the opposite issue with most golfers, low hooks, or low and straight but that dive into the ground after 100 yards. Do I just work the other way around the wheel and work on holding the face open? When I swing 60% I hit it well. Thanks. great video as always.
How would you start to explore the fade space, given you start with a fade biased path? Closed face to target for a pull fade or is it better to seek a push fade in your opinion?
what about the irons ? you mentioned if you line up straight the hit is to the right. do we need to make adjustments in the set up or just line up straight to the target ?
Hi Markus. I bought a magnetic golf aid for my driver like yours. Then when it was delivered and I tried it I realised my face on driver wasn't magnet lol. How did you get yours to stick
If your driver has enough loft you can get good distance hitting down on the ball...you only need to swing up on the ball if you close the face dramatically at impact and likewise swinging up with a high-lofted driver or a driver with an open-enough face will accomplish very little but a push-cut Whether you need to swing up or down completely depends on the attack angle at impact and the desired shot-height. For a given clubhead speed every shot with a driver can be played like a fine instrument by varying the attack-angle and dynamic loft. it's not a matter of taking more lessons. It's a matter of actually making good use of the lessons that you've taken.
great video again been range today hit a full basket off balls trying to hit massive draws and fades from one side of range to the other a lot more fun the hitting straight shots balls split between wedge 7 iron and driver
Question: At minute 6:30 you are explaining the correct ball position in relationship with the whole body in order to create a swing path to the right, and that simply moving the right foot back does not accomplish this. Once you correctly do this will it feel that you are massively aiming to the right?
Thanks again Marcus! I have a question about adjusting the driver head (TM): If you were to set the head to a lower loft setting (-0.75º), the head effectively opens 1.5º. Would this have the same effect as moving around the ball as you demonstrated? I play my driver head open and never understood why I hit it best in that position. I can't believe how well you explain things and I can't thank you enough!
If your driver is set up open or closed, ultimately it shouldn't matter as where the club face ends up at impact is what counts! An open face wouldn't adjust the path (which is what moving around the ball effectively does) but whatever works for you, ultimately!
Marcus in this explanation of both swing path & hand rotation how do you at set-up address the clubface?...square to path intention (out to the right which is also square with the body alignments) or square (but closed to body alignment) to the actual target?.
Is this the reason why the ball looks to be in the middle of the stance for tour pros when you see them head on? Also, does the face stay square to the target at address?
I found Marcus last week; and said he was my last ever hope, and if he didn't work, I was sworn off TH-cam: TH-cam has turned me into a basket case. Well thanks to Marcus' simple philosophy; I have found my golf swing: and it ain't rocket science. Thank You Marcus.
Bonjour Marcus, la face de votre club au départ est elle dirigée sur votre objectif, c'est à dire le centre du fairway ou bien on s'en fout ? Hi Marcus, is your club face at the tee aimed at your target, i.e. the centre of the fairway, or does it matter?

appreciate your vids - i understand for demonstration purposes you are using a hula-hoop, but the club head moves more in an elliptical shape, the best players in the world elongate that flat spot in the bottom of the arc thru various methods but most commonly they stack the left sternum on top of the left hip joint prior to impact so that they can rotate their mass around virtual line. you can get on track man all day and night and match the patch, face and AOA but if you don't organize those joints, you really are handicapping yourself.
Where you intend the ball to start but it's not that important tbh. As soon as you move the club away from the ball it's not relevant to the target anymore so don't worry about it.
