is this aid supposed to show what the club looks like or should be pointing at at point of contact or the downswing, or even at the right hip before releasing the club?
I could listen to Leadbetter on golf swing all day, just simplifies things perfectly. None of the bullshit you hear from so many coaches now who seem obsessed with the need to spout fancy words and descriptions to prove how much knowledge they have. Leadbetter is the OG - you can see how much he has influenced Piers and Andy in their coaching! Class.
This was my first purchase when I really started teaching myself how to swing. It works and is a great tool to teach what the takeaway should look like. I just have to keep myself from reverting back to old ways from time to time, but this is the best way I have found to start the swing. If it doesn't start correct, then it is hard to finish correct. Just love when the coaches seek coaching for themselves and share it with the rest of us. Thanks guys...
Great video! Andy was mad to go to Foley instead of Lead! Unrelated to your channel, but I thought the video lesson which Garrett (Good good) had with Lead was a masterclass in how good a coach he is - simple & incredibly effective.
I’ve come back to this video several times now and it’s really helped me to tidied up my takeaway. Ball striking is much more consistent. The drill of starting the swing ala Moe Norman is fantastic. Thank you and Mr Ledbetter for the video.
Mr. Ledbetter is a master of the golf swing. Everything explained so simply, easy to understand, and impossible to argue against the results. That one simple little change took Piers' already good swing to the next level. It's amazing how much one tiny change can have such profound effects on the swing and, therefore, the ball and it's results.
Excellently concise instruction from DL the explanation of the tempo fault that occurs on the downswing is helpful to know and reassuring when practicing to know why this happens, thank you .
i tend to go too inside on the backswing and i've been working on making it right. i've been putting a stick on the ground like you did and try to feel and visualize the correct way. thnx for the help.
Stumbled across this vid and hey, I've got direction problems like the next guy. Hit to a 6 GHIN @ 67 yrs old. Watched the vid yesterday and went out to shoot 73 today. Some of the straightest irons I've hit in a long time. Might spring for the gadget.
Last week, I felt like driving my golf buggy into the lake as I couldn't hit the ball straight. After seeing this and practising out of pure desperation, i am back to smashing them straight down the middle. Thanks heaps, awesome video. Brendon
Awesome video. I have been working on my take away with Kevin Hale and this is amazing video that will definitely help my game. Also proves Piers is human just like us.
A brilliant video. DL explains everything so simply, and the questions Andy asked were very helpful as well. The only things I wasn't sure about were Piers' socks 🤔
Seems like a good drill. Shure I'm gonna test & feel this on the range. Since many years, I'd rather talk about my "Upswing" instead of my "Back-swing". This drill works exactly on that!
I guess I still don't understand the completion of the backswing from this point. Is it simply holding the hands in that position and just rotating around the body or am I missing something else? Seems like that's all you do and et it collapse a little at the top as you change directions of the rotation
Love when David talks about teaching people to be their own best coach. There are so many people these days that waste so much money on instructors.....and learn little...because they are still far too new to golf to use coaches in any kind of intensive way. Good money for instructors, though....lol. It's a goldmine these days. And even better when people get addicted to instructors, rather than to thinking through their own game.
This is a great place. Have played the courses there, except the Nicklaus course. Used to be the Annika Academy. Looks like it is in good hands. As for the device, I was at a driving range and someone was using the Straight Away. One of the things I noticed was that the golfer seemed to be concentrating too much on keeping the wrists too rigid. Therefore the golfer’s swing looked too stiff and his shots were not good.. In my opinion, looking at this video or combine it with a lesson with a golf teacher would make this product work.
Great video, I had a lesson recently and this is what my pro encouraged me to do. Felt so different but after a while was getting more distance, height and carry. Piers black socks are a no no, white socks!🙄😂👍🏻
I have always had a wacky dress sense Ken and unfortunately it will probably continue😂 However great to hear the work you have done to your swing, sounds like you have made good progress, keep it up👌
The contrast couldn’t be greater than with some of the modern TryHard coaches… the comparison between Lead & Foley is just Night & Day. I know which one I’d go to given the chance!
About time that golf teachers started offering the complete (including equipment changes) alternative swing style / system of Bryson DeChambeau. Most normal humans just can’t or have the time to master the traditional lower hand multi plane traditional system. Many older golfers are better off sacrificing some distance for more accuracy to enjoy and compete.
Does anyone ever actually hit a golf ball in a Leadbetter lesson? Just Leadbetter shilling his latest gadget. Oh he did eventually, hit it poorly then Leadbetter spent the next minute explaining why the new move made him hit it poorly until he gets used to it. 😂 SMH.
well, no. looks terrible. at address the hands are on top of the club and if they are not on top of the club when the club is parallel to the target line the clubface has closed. the old idea of keeping the butt end of the club aligned with the belly is wrong and leadbetter's method is wrong. the heel pad of the left hand should press forwards- just as it does in the waggle- when the club is parallel to the target line. as hogan says in the 2nd of five lessons: "the backswing does not alter the pattern of the waggle"
He's all over TH-cam telling every player , no matter who they are, exactly the same thing to sell his product. 🥱 He asks you what you're working on, but he doesn't actually care. He's just gonna sell his takeaway product. He taught all the Good Good boys exactly the same thing, it was embarrassing 😅
$70 for something you can make with a golf tee and some tape... this "world's best golf coach" has done more harm than good for a lot of professionals. I'm afraid this training aid may come with some Lead poisoning XD
ohh yeah - Leadbetter. The funny old guy with his pants close to his chest and still teaching very steep backswing. And seriously - this aid seems somehow he need.a way to make money after all his earlier training aids swingsetter, boomerang etc.

Bit of a personal video this week! Have to say my swing has felt a lot easier since this golf lesson and hopefully it can help you guys too👌🏌
Happy Anniversary to you and your "better half" (maybe better third considering Andy!), Piers! 😊

Leadbetter is not a method teacher, but everyone should get the same lesson and do the same thing?

The magic move, great lesson from the swing guru...love it.Thanks guys
The magic move is putting your knees in together
I just started about 6 months ago and David is Awesome. I still working on my accuracy
Thanks for teaching. From Florida Broward USA
This is very helpful. I wish you guys had a top angle view looking down at your knees. I’m still having trouble on exactly how it should be angled
Excellent coaching with the master coach team. Great help from New Zealand. Well done boys
Thanks Henry
Great video...Love listening to Mr. Leadbetter..
I enjoyed it. Do you have a link to the Rory lesson you mentioned from 4 years ago?
I really loved this lesson. Such a great help. Thanks guys. 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Glad you enjoyed this.
1703minute mark statement. Very true. Working on this plus pivot

Well done guys what a ledgend David leadbetter is 😊
Thanks Roy!
Excellent coaching
Glad you enjoyed it John.
i watched your video with Sean Foley. isn't this completely different from what he taught Andy? good content as always guys :)
A brilliant video. DL explains everything so simply, and the questions Andy asked were very helpful as well.

Piers socks ? Its Davids trousers he needs to pull them up further 😂
Glad you enjoyed the video! The socks might grow on you 😂

I met David Leadbetter at the 1992 Masters. He talked to us for about 5 minutes and gave me his business card. Really nice guy.
Awesome. Thanks again. Great stuff
Glad you enjoyed it Gilbert!
I've got a strong grip. Would this still help me? I've been struggling for years but can't seem to change my grip 😢
I got this and really great for helping eye line
Great to hear!
Great content guys!
Thanks Randy. Glad you enjoyed it.👍🏻
where do i find his little tool?
I agree with you. As one of the best current golfers in the world who is almost 80 yrs old

I’ll be here when you come back, lol.

Yes definitely

Has David injured himself? Looks like he was a bit unstable. Either way, great to see the legend on video again 🙌🙌🙌
I know he had a food op and had some trouble with it.
What a big difference from what Sean Foley is teaching. I can see why Sir Nick won all those majors.
you know its good when the guys in the back are listening
Love a takeaway 😋
Is it ok to use this on the driver? ⛳👍
Yes 100 %

What happen with Faldo after he worked with him??
Results with the swing tool speak for themselves.
you cant buy this product in the UK!
It’s been 4 years since you did a video with David Leadbetter
Yeh time flys. We love collaborating with David. So much knowledge and experience and always happy to share
The contrast couldn’t be greater than with some of the modern TryHard coaches… the comparison between Lead & Foley is just Night & Day.
I know which one I’d go to given the chance!
Which one?
My relationship with Nick Faldo has lasted longer than his 3 marriages. 🤣
He’s the king of 1 liners😂

So good I watched it twice but then you go to buy it and they don’t ship to U.K. 😬
This is the only students that talk more than the teacher
You must be joking. Nobody talks more than Leadbetter. Does anybody ever actually hit a golf ball in a Leadbetter video?

Who let him leave the house with those pants?
Your wife.....
Great Video, but the sound is a kind of bad.
Isn't the teaching here of staying centered and not swaying the ball kind of the opposite of the Foley video?
Still trying to correct my backswing from following the butt of club in belly button drill 25 years ago!
Good to see that's been binned!
$69.95 + delivery costs for that piece of plastic !
Is DL still promoting the "A" swing? Lydia Ko gave up on it.
P1, P2......P6 Him and Faldo killed distance
Lucky Piers needed takeaway help at the same time he had a takeaway training aid to sell!
Why is every golf coach who's ever taught a pro the most important golf coach ever? I'm not saying that he's not qualified but seriously?
Piers, you need to hit a bad shot during a lesson to get your money's worth...
He got me at a decent time
Ask why Lydia run away from this guy?
On the basis that he’s ruined more swings than improved..worlds best swing coach couldn’t be further from the truth
I thought impact was kind of important
I've been asking about the takeaway for years and I was told it's not important smh...
