      However if someone is in this situation, it is up to them to break the cycle. They have to understand that if you don't want it done to you, don't do it to someone else.

    • @ChantillyLace1018
      @ChantillyLace1018 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      But neither of them sexually abused the kids and that's what they're being charged with. The mother seemed low-functioning. The physical abuse is deplorable in and of itself, and they should serve time for that, without question. However, once kids are taken into foster care, additional allegations often come about. Sometimes I wonder if it's coached by some people. I've worked with families for many years and closely with foster care. Some of those places are scary. I've reported several foster care providers for things I've seen go on in their homes with my own eyes. In a few situations, children were removed from their parents while false allegations were being investigated and then deemed false. The foster homes the children were in were definitely worse than their biological home environments. It's a sad state of affairs. The foster care system in the US is dreadfully broken. Sometimes people are railroaded and their kids are taken when they really have done NOTHING WRONG. Steve has shown this to be true on multiple occasions. His show has helped some people, innocent of child abuse, get their kids back. However, these people do not deserve to have the children with them. Maybe if that mother had gotten away from her father and the cycle of abuse, she would never have hurt her kids and she would still have them.

      I'm not sticking up for them at all, but, I will say that sometimes lawyers or public defenders actually do try to make it seem like you don't have a choice....for example I seen one where the mom was saying that her public defender told her it was in her best interest to NOT go to trial...even though she did nothing wrong and she would lose her kids forever if she rolls the dice....so not only would she go to jail but she would also lose her kids forever...but if she doesn't roll the dice she won't go to jail and she will have a possibility of getting her kids back in the future...and the test came up that she was innocent...so there's one example of the legal system taking advantage of people and their kids...tragic

    They wouldn’t have arrested both of them with no evidence of abuse. I’m sure they asked the children and listened to what they had to say. The bruises being in different stages of healing speaks for itself. I’m commenting this before I am hearing the results. I hope they are innocent but I have a feeling they are not.

      @@kristiemurray7730 if a 5 and 3 year old can’t talk, something is wrong. That’s usually seen in abuse (sexually, physically, mentally) situations. Also neglect is another major one. It’s not everyone else’s fault that you were dumb enough to expose yourself for the vile creatures you are on National tv.

    I'm sorry but out of all the things there are to agree with, I will never agree to taking a plea to anything I know I didnt do period. I dont care what it is and I'll be damned if I let the state take my kids over some stupid allegations and ill b damned if I let a lawyer who supposed to be representing me convince me to sign away my rights. Yeah I knew she was lying. I was kinda believing the dad but damn they both liars taking pleas, deep down you know u guilty and taking a plea is always the easy way out, that way u dont have to face a jury or anything like that...

      Not to mention pleading "no contest" means you don't have to allocute (admit) to what you did; it basically means "I did it but I'm not saying anything". Only plea I HATE in our system, because like a lot of other people I think if you did something wrong you should have to admit what all you did no matter how graphic.

    This ordeal reminded me of an Urban Legend regarding a court case. This woman was being put on trial for child abuse, specifically spanking her child. The prosecutor asks her if she hit her child. She said "No, I murdered my child." She was let go, because she was only on trial for child abuse not murder. While that shit wouldn't fly today, this case reminded me of that.

I broke the cycle. My Son and I have a great relationship. If you abuse a Child, that Child will hate you. Love and Protect your Children!!!

    I married young and had 4 children. I had no idea how to fight for custody and my attorney, whom I could not pay, did not advise me. I was scared and clueless. This is pretty ugly because I know what the end result will be, a damaged relationship or even severed for life from this mother for which the child will grow up with deep wounds. She may not be abused again by grandpa, but the wounds will still be there into the next generation. FYI the question of “hit, strike, punch, kick” could be misleading simply because a spanking is striking and could have led to the “did not tell the truth “
