Just picked up 2 for $20 each at Home Depot after watching your video, if it was 7-8" and had a more rubberized TPE handle to absorb shock it would be perfect, honestly. The titanium coating helps make it slick, which helps it slide through the wood. I'm glad they used a Mora type plastic sheath instead of a crappy nylon one that always gets cut up and frays. A saw, Machete, a mora, and this, and you can do all you need with wood bushcraft wise. I liked your idea of using the rasp on a mag bar. It would good to fill up a plastic match box with mag powder to put in your bug out bag.
I just got the latest variant with a slanted chisel end. Im loving it for prying and scraping at work as a building maintenance and repair technician. Great beater. Works well for processing branches into fuel to fit my little rocket stoves, when combined with a Bahco Laplander. Good for small stuff when my Estwing camper’s hatchet feels like overkill.
With a point on it, it would be excellent. I saw them on clearance for 8 bucks yesterday but my wife was with me so I didn't buy one. Going to try to get back there tomorrow and see if any are left.
They’re pretty robust for a Walmart knife if they would just make one with a good tip and sell them at the same price range I think they would have a great budget blade and I think it would sell a lot
It’s not a file. The rasp side is to keep the wood from sliding off while batoning. But hey you can use it for whatever works for you. Try rasping your hemroids.

I bet it’s much more used with the chisel end on it I’ll have to pick one up if it’s a new variant
