I have an Alienware R16. Since it was my first pc and did not know much about computers I got the cheapest version, which came with a fan and an air cpu cooler. After doing some research on how to potentially upgrade my PC since it got very hot, I came across a reddit post of an user who upgraded their R16 with a CORSAIR H100I ELITE LCDXT 240 BLK AIO. I decided to buy the CORSAIR - iCUE H60X RGB ELITE to replace the rear fan and the air cpu cooler. After installing I noticed that the fan and pumped work properly but I had nowhere to connect the RGB cables. So I got a COMMANDER CORE XT. After this my fan and pump's RGB turned on white. The iCUE software has not been able to detect my Commander XT (neither my pump or fan), neither my Windows Device Manager. So far I have tried getting an USB 2.0 Hub (since the Aurora R16 itself does not have any....) and a USB 2.0 to USB-C adaptor, just like the reddit user recommended on his upgrades. So far nothing has worked and I have been very seriously thinking about returning everything I bought and just get the Alienware hardware instead.
5 hours of non-stop software diagnostics and debbugging later... I was on the verge of ordering a new Corsair ARGB contrroller when I found your video and followed your "simple things" advice. Lo and behold, it turned out to be a PSU cable issue. I dind't think that would be the issue as I hadn't opened my case in 6 months. Solved it in about 17 seconds. Thank you sir!!
Hi Wynand Murray! Thats awesome you got it figured out! Those sneaky little PSU cables can drive you crazy for sure. I've been there, done that! I'm happy the video was helpful to you! Thanks for the feedback and for watching!! Have Fun!!!
Good luck even getting the software to open and work. For such a big company touting RGB, lighting etc you'd think their software would work. Just stay away from this brand.
Swapping the SATA power to a different cable worked for me. Thank you for this guide. I work in a lab breaking into electronics and for the life of me could not get these to work. Thank you again.
I did a system restore that knocked out my commander pro. Simply reinstalled icue and it fixed it. Would have been stuck for a minute without this video. Thank you!
Problem I've been having is that the commander core disappears randomly while running apps like Davinci Resolve or Unreal Engine, it's no longer listed in the devices in windows either. After a reboot it tends to show up again, I've no idea why.
Odd behavior: Running two commander XTs, just unplugged the fans off one commander to clean up some cabling, replugged everything back in and now that commander and my H150i LCD both arent being detected in iCUE. Both were recognized prior to messing with things, but now they arent. The LCD and screens are working, just not being detected.
I recently installed 2 new fans into my case, and now icue does not detect any of the fans. The day before I installed the new fans, i cue picked up the 3 fans i had installed just fine, now it doesnt pick up anything after I installed the new fans. I already checked and have made sure there is no issue with cables or power or anything inside the case, the fans still spin and my 3 original fans still have a static purple color but the 2 new ones are white. What do I do??
@@spamurai565 Yes but im sorry bro I dont remember what I did, i will tell you if I ever remember but I am fairly certain it was a software issue, and I didnt have to physically do anything to the fans or rgb controller
Thanks for the info. The Corsair commander pro and AIO cooler won't both show up in iCUE at the same time. How do I connect the rear exhaust fan in the Corsair 5000d Airflow case?
started playing cyberpunk and noticed how hot it was getting so decided to check the fans and noticed that the commander core wasn't detected by icue. They still spinn and im able to control their color but not their fan speed.
I'm not sure what the maximum number of fans would be, it would vary of course depending on the fans. I've never hit it though. The CORE XT and CORE should have similar specs in that they each will support 4.5A total across 6 ports and 1A per port. This is much more than adequate for your 10 fans. The QL Fan draws 0.30A per fan, perhaps a bit more on startup. So each port easily supports 1 QL Fan. 10 fans will be no problem on a single SATA power cable. Good luck, have fun, thanks again for watching!!!!
Just built a new pc and the Commander Core XT is not showing up in the icue. My fans are running but just with a white color. Tried moving the usb. Has latest driver
Hi aztecace, make sure you have version 4 of iCUE. If you have version 3 and update it to the latest version, it still won't work and doesn't automatically update to version 4. I found this out the hard way after taking some time with it. Uninstall version 3 and download/install version 4. If you have version 4 and it's up to date, then try another power cable. I'd suggest removing all fans from the controller and remove any other controllers as well and see if it will detect it. If not, make sure your bios and chipset drivers are up to date. Then try a powered USB hub or the adapter cable usb 3.0 to 2.0 I showed. Let me know if you get it working! Thanks for watching!!!
I use Coolermaster Masterfans with the Commander to control fan speeds. I have two commanders and both of them show up under software updates but I can't control the fan speeds
I just moved my PC from the floor to a table. Then my fan RGB went out. Corsair iCue only sees the cooler and memory. Fans are working but no lights. it was working fine until I moved it and now it's not. But the main problem is Corsair iCue doesn't see the fans at all. The iCue software has no way to add the fans again.
I came here after seeing the title. While it wasn't exactly what my problem was, this did start me on chasing the issue. I eventually worked out what fans I had and after RGB auto detect only finding one fan, I decided to add the fans in the Wizard, manually. Now all RGB is working fine. So auto detect doesn't work on SP140.
My fans are spinning perfectly and I see them on Icue app but every once in awhile when I’m gaming my rgb tends too turn off and turn back on any suggestions why this happens?
Ive been looking everywhere for a video on a pc that boots but the rgb hub isnt working. Im worried because of this my aio isnt being detected and overheats fast
I have the issue of the fans are working all fine no issues at all with temps ect, rgb are also on but stuck in 1 colour. However they will not show up in icue even after updating the icue to latest? Any ideas?
Hi josh_6c241, what model fan do you have and what controller? I'd start with removing all the lighting layers, and run through the lighting setup again. If that doesn't help, I'd power off your PC, physically remove power for a minute, reconnect to a different power connect if possible, but either way, power up and try again. If the issue remains make sure iCUE is up to date. Update the firmware on the controller (I'll even force an update if it's already up to date). If that's all good, uninstall/reinstall iCUE with the latest version and try again. If that doesn't help, let me know what controller and fan you have. Thanks for watching, good luck and have fun troubleshooting!!
I fixed it, you need to uninstall both headers' drivers in Device Manager. They are called "Generic USB Hub", it is shown in the video. After uninstalling them, you reboot the system and pray for the best. Mine show up in ICUE as my h150i pump itself, apart from my other Commander. Hope this helps.
My commander pro and light node did work for a long time. Then I had to update Icue and they no longer showed up on the list. Tried to install an older version of Icue, but still nothing. The fans are running and the lights work. I just cant controll them. Some days it suddenly works again, but the next day its gone. Dont think I will by Corsair hardware again.
Hi RobbCabaian, If I determined another software was interfering, I'd start by making sure they are up to date on both of them. Beyond that, you would have to troubleshoot further if there is a way to configure them to peacefully co-exist. That might be difficult to do. I'm not aware of any specific issues with the CAM software, I have used both at the same time, but I've mainly used CAM as a monitoring tool, not for RGB control at the same time....Although i've used that too, but maybe not with corsair. I do have a NZXT controller I could test with if you're having a specific problem, let me know. Great question, thanks for watching!!!!
Thanks! This video has helped with troubleshooting, but I think I have a unique issue, essentially my H100i suddenly stopped being detected by the iCue software. Strange thing is when I disconnect the ext cable from the AIO to the commander pro, then commander pro is detected by iCue, but once I plug the ext cable from the AIO back in iCue can no longer detect commander pro. Any suggestions?
Hi Piers Yem, That's a great question! It's always a bit of a concern when a device being plugged in causes an issue with another device. Here is what I would do. Let's start by making sure the commander PRO is still working normally, I'm assuming when you say ext cable, you mean the USB cable. Since you're experiencing this issue, i'd excercise caution and power down before connecting and disconnecting each component. You don't want to be connected things, even usb, with power on if there is something flaky going on. Unplug the AIO from commander pro obviously and make sure the PRO is detected in icue. Plug another device into the same USB header on the commander PRO that the AIO was using and see if the PRO still works. If that causes it to be undected by icue, or the newly connected USB device isn't detected, i'd suspect a possible issue with the PRO.....In that case, I might just use a sata powered USB hub for now. If the PRO works at that point along with the newly connected device, i'd assume the PRO is ok. My next step would be to try connecting the AIO pump to a different SATA Power connector. I would also try a different USB header for the USB cable. Since I can't say for certain what the issue is, I might be a little hesitant to plug that into an expensive motherboard, since it's possibly causing the PRO to not be detected. So I would recommend using a sata powered USB hub to try it on. - Personally, i'd probably just try the motherboard, but do that at your own risk. If the AIO doesn't work with a new SATA PORT and/or USB connection, I'd at least check to see if the PUMP is getting power, you should be able to hear it running to ensure it's cooling for you. If the pump is running, you should be able to at least for now control it if you plug in the tach cable to the pump/cpu fan header on your motherboard. To troubleshoot it from there, you'd have to look to look to see if it's showing up as a USB device at all in device manager. I'd also try uninstalling/reinstalling icue as a troubleshooting step. Beyond that, I'd have to research if you can reset that controller, or it may be bad. If the PRO has a problem, try connecting it to a new/different USB header on your motherboard or a sata powered usb hub. try a new SATA power connection for the PRO as well. Good luck, let me know how that works, hopefully your PRO isn't bad, but let me know what you find. Thanks for watching!!!
Yep, Icue is not detecting my Core Pro or XT. Trried the different SATA and USB headers. Installed Motherboard Chipset drivers. No problems in Device manager, eno exclamation marks. The only thing iCUE sees is the ram sticks and the motherboard temperature and fan speed sensors from UEFI bios. No Corsair Controller boxes or fans are showing up. AMD motherobard and latest bios. Are there USB drivers for these things I need to install? Ist here some kind of auto detection button I need to click in ICUE? I've used Wireshark before to capture DDOS attacks, when you got down to that point to diagnose the USB bus traffic I was like holy sh1t! Too blind to do that now, so not going to happen. At this point I'm going to try to get iCUE to just detect eithe rthe COre or XT in the software with nothing else connected, one box at the same time, different USB and SATA ports. I'm thinking they probably both are bad. Or the USB motherboard headers just will not talk to them or vice versa. I assume they are suppose to show up in ICue as a big icon like the ram sticks do... if they are detected. I have no idea. Very na5ty first experience iwth Corsair RGB lighting. If I get this oorking, I'm never buying into it again that's for sure. This is just not worth the long protracted stress and headaches. Have not tried the reset buttons yet.. ----- Nope still not seeing either box, in ICue 5.3 I'm temtped to mail these two dmmn useful things to you to see if you can get them to work and add to your wall, because they are useless junk to me at this point. First time installing this stuff, and it has never ever worked. I mean the Commander Core displays the RGB rainbow puke on anythign plugged into it... by default. The CORE Xt doesn't display anything on anything plugged into it. Standing alone plugged into their own individual motherboard ehaders, not daisy chained (like I tried when I first set them up).
Hi papaberto9699, Sorry you're having issues with that. with the AIO connected to the commander core, it will show up as the AIO and not a commander core. Assuming that it's not showing up and you have tried changing the sata power connection. Do you have power to the controller? are fans running and can you hear the aio pump? Try a different USB port, preferably a powered usb port if you have a usb hub, but at least try another usb header on your motherboard. If that doesn't do the trick, uninstall and reinstall iCUE and make sure you have the latest version. Beyond that, I'd try tremoving everything from the commander core except the pump, remove all fans from pwm and rgb connections. Remove other USB devices as well to see if something is conflicting with it. Try just the CORE on another PC if you have access to one to see if it's the controller. On occasion I have to disconnect it from power complelety and from the sata connector and plug it back in. Let me know what you find, thanks for watching and your support!
Just recently i had my rtx3090 and motherboard drop from the icue software but i still have access to my h150i elite capellix, and lighting node core. any ideas on how to bring them back? Thank you!
Hi Yummy! I would first rule out the splitter. Connect a single lighting node core directly to your motherboard's usb header just to ensure the controller is good, check both of them. Assuming they are detected at that point. I would try them one at a time on the splitter, try each port on the splitter seperately to detect if the splitter has issues. I would check, if you can, if any other usb device works on this splitter. I don't know what model your splitter is, but if it appears to be bad, try a powered usb hub, such as the nzxt. I would also uninstall and reinstall iCUE and ensure you have the latest version on version 4. That should be a start, let me know what you find. Thanks for watching!!!
Good day mate! I've installed the H100i elite icue cooler, but for some reason when I shut down my computer the cooler and fans still stay on! ? Any ideas what may cause this ?
Hi John Kouros, I've never personally encountered this condition, except in cases where the system didn't properly shutdown all the way. I do see other reports of certain bios settings and motherboards causing this. I can think of many things to try here. when you power off and your fans are running, check your keyboard, see if you still have activity such as caps lock, num lock, indicating power and activity, indicating maybe the system isn't full powered off. from there, if you hold the power button for 4 seconds, do the fans go off like they are supposed to? if not, remove your power cord, wait a minute and then plug it back in? do the fans run? Regardless, i'd ensure your chipset drivers are up to date and perhaps update your bios and reinstall icue. Double check your power connections and possibly move the sata power to another port on the h100i. beyond that, look at settings in your bios, anything to do with power, including fast start, etc, try one at a time making a change and seeing if it fixes it. there are quite a few possibilities in there. Check out what power settings you have in windows and possibly look at the windows event logs during shutdown. I hope that gets you started, good luck, have fun, I like troubleshooting! Let us know what you find! Thanks for watching!
So I just built my PC, and I installed a commander core xt. Problem is? iCue isn't detecting it. The rgbs are just solid white (basically no color), and the fans are basically on full speed with no way to turn them down, so my PC sounds like a jet engine. So it's functioning, but I have no way to control or it or make the RGB's work. Gonna try some of the tips in this video before I throw in the towel and just connect them all to the motherboard.
Hi MetalGaiden96, sorry to hear you're having issues, it happens to all of us. Definitely work through the steps in the video. Start with making sure you have the latest iCUE version installed and reinstall it if you do. Then, use a USB header on your motherboard or a powered USB connection. Try removing the fans from the RGB ports and PWM headers if you can to see if it's detected, if it is, add one or two fans at a time (powered off of course). If it still won't detect it, power off your pc and physically unplug the power to the core XT and try another sata power port (i've had to do this a couple of times) and then check again. Make sure any other RGB software is not installed (or running) and try again. Good luck, let me know what you find! Thanks for Watching!!!
@@HardwareArtisan Hey! Thank you for replying. I eventually figured out what it was and it was something relatively simple. I plugged the usb header into the wrong port. Once I swapped it to another one, it worked immediately, the fans began to function properly, and the RGB'S came on along with it. The woes of being a first time PC builder I suppose. Lol. But it seems to be working just fine now.
@MetalGaiden96 that's awesome! I'm happy you got it figured out and that it wasn't serious...that stuff happens to all of us....keep having fun with it!!!
I can’t get my fans to spin no matter what I try. I have the Corsair commander core XT the rgb works but the fans don’t spin, the fan speeds / cooling also don’t show up in icue. Can you help me out?
My corsair Hub only 1-3 slots works and 4-6 not works Leds not showing up.. fans spinning all.. is my hub broken? i have corsair commander pro and linked corsair hub..
I'm assuming you have a rgb fan hub connected to the pro, if only the first 3 work, try moving another fan into port 4, and swap a good fan into port 4, I'd also try swapping fans into the 3rd port...that hub requires device to be in order...meaning you can't skip a port. It's possible the device in port 4 is the problem causing issues down the line...but test it. Do try another power connection as well...also, ensure all fans are selected in icue....I would also power off, remove the power cables, wait a minute, reconnect and power back up. Reinstall icue and force a firmware update if the issue persists...could be a bad hub as well. Good luck, let me know what you find! Thanks for watching.
Thanks for these videos! I had issues with this a few weeks back with my Commander Core. I noticed the usb detection beep from Windows happened when you moved the usb header cable slightly, turns out it was defective. The replacement was actually detected by Windows but still didn't show in iCue. The software update within iCue itself looked like it was working but it wasn't actually uograding anything! Had to uninstall first, then it was finally detected. Phew...
Thanks for the report Paul F. I didn't touch on that in the video, but those wires in the usb connector could be a weak point for sure. I'm glad a uninstall/reinstall did the trick, that's often the cure, haha. Great work, thanks for taking the time to tell us your issues with it. Thanks for watching!!!!
I try the first option and it works. It seems like it was not recognizing the Node Core due to Armoury Crate was the one controlling it, i uninstalled both, reinstalled icue and is all working perfectly
The corsair fans i purchased from you are still holding strong! i live it! there is a lighting in your corsair case i noticed and am curious about. the look like wire leds with brakets that light up. im not sure how to explain them lol. but id like to know more about them.
I have a curious toddler in the house and I stop the PSU so he does not start the PC, the only problem is that after I did that most of the rgb in the case stopped working, the triangles are not being detected or the GPU
Seriously thanks, I've been trying to figure out for about 2 days why I couldn't see my commander core in my icue and I did notice there was one device in my device manager that wasnt working, turns out it was the commander core so I do think I need to go ahead and order a new one now
Hi 313aak, i'm happy you found the video helpful. It could be you need a new one. I'd try all the tips in this video including using a powered USB hub, remove the power cable to it and try another sata connector. Reinstalling iCUE is also a must if you haven't already. Good luck, frustrating when these don't work, but keep having fun with it!!! Thanks for watching!!! Let me know what you find.
I fixed my issue by uninstalling both headers' drivers in Device Manager. They are called "Generic USB Hub", it is shown in the video. After uninstalling them, you reboot the system and pray for the best. Mine show up in ICUE as my h150i pump itself, apart from my other Commander. Hope this helps.
Hello i nade help i have icue and all fans working but 2 of them lighting and 2 of them dont lighting they are lighting all, but when i one time go in icue to costumize my light they are shut down and they dont work sometimes when i turn up my computer they work all but when i put comp in sleep mode and turn up him the are shut down like its glitched or something 2 work and 2 dont work..
Hi Adem Sepic, I would suggest you try the following. The 2 fans that aren't working, take those fans and try them in other ports to verify the fan is good. Also, try known good fans in the 2 ports that currently aren't working. This should help you to determine if the fans are good and if the ports are good. I would double check in iCUE that you have the "All Fans" selected in the quick lighting zones at the bottom. If you're certain that your settings in icue are good. I would suggest making sure your firmware is up to date.....and if it is, force a firmware update. You will need to go into device settings, and to the right of check for updates, you have 3 dots, click that and force a firmware update. I've had to do this a couple times for oddball problems. If that doesn't work, try another power connection/USB connection. I am working on another troubleshooting video for issues like this. I hope that helps, let me know what you find! Thanks for watching!
@@HardwareArtisan hey man i replug all fans in comander pro but not comander pro second one smaler for led and they work now all of one that last one work but not corectly just mid lighting and on outside of fan in one space light maybe 5-7 cm in diametar and thats it can i fix that maybe? All fans work ok but that one is work half half xd can you have some isues??
Hi wayt7792, unfortunately the h100x AIO is not supported in iCUE, the pump has no connectivity to the USB bus so iCUE will not see it, you control this one manually through the PWM headers on your motherboard or your fan controller. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching!!!
My issue is with the RGB Strips. Bought the item twice from amazon, and both times they are not working with my commander core xt. Newest iCUE software Current BIOS and Chipset for my MOBO Tried connecting them together at first, then individually (powering my machine each time) to Commander Core XT directly, nothing happens. Uninstall and Install iCUE, still no action from the strips. I got a case, headset, fans and keyboard from Corsair and they work fine. I can control my fan settings with XT. However, the RGB strips plainly do not work. Currently having a email session with Corsair now, but if anyone have any tips, let me know.
Hi myoung2484, I'm assuming these are corsair RGB strips, either the internal or external ones. Make sure your CORE XT is at the latest firmware. Go into iCUE and select the CORE XT, then select the 3 pin lighting setup and select either the RGB strip or the external strips if that's what your using and then select the type and number of strips. From there you should be able to goto lighting effects on the 3 pin lighting and modify the RGB lighting. If it's not working. Check your extension and maybe get rid of it as a test, just plug a single strip into the RGB port on the CORE XT. If that doesn't work, try powering off, unplug the CORE XT from power physically and try another sata power connection if possible, but at least unplug it (that's fixed weird stuff like this), try another USB port as well, a powered usb header if you have it. Then retry, if it's still a problem, uninstall, reinstall icue. If it's still a problem, perhaps the port is bad. As you stated, it's not too difficult to get them working, but you may be working with a controller with a bad port. Let me know what you find, good luck and keep at it!! Thanks for watching!!
@@HardwareArtisan Thank you. I did try out their directions you gave, but come to find out it was a bad port. I reached out to corsair and they provided a solution to fix my issue. The lights work now.
My controller is visible only in software updates (on iCUE), and I cannot get it to show as a device to tell it I want to control RBG on port 5 & 6. Does anyone has a solution? RGB on fans 1-4 work fine.
Hi spamurai565, I'm assuming you are using a CORE XT? I would start with swapping fans around to ensure the lighs work on the fans currently connected in port 5 and 6 and see if the problem stays with the port. Assuming it does stay with the port, when you select a lighting type, do you see rgb port 5 and rgb port 6 in the 'quick lighting zone' section? It's possible you have manually selected indivicual fans, make sure port 5 and port 6 fans are selected, or ALL. If they are not there and still won't light and you know the fan is working, then rerun the wizard from the lighting setup function and see if it detects them, if it doesn't and you've verified the fan does work in other ports, id suggest power off your pc and physically remove power to the controller, actually disconnect it, connect it back after a minute to a new connector if possible, if not just reconnect it and power it back up and retry, this has solved problems like this for me. if it's still an issue, try forcing a firmware update on the device in addition to uninstalling and reinstalling icue. Beyond that, could be an issue with the device itself, try it in another pc if you have access to that, if not and it's under warranty contact Corsair or the vendor. I hope that helps solve it, good luck, have fun (troubleshooting is fun, right!?) , let me know what you find! Thanks for watching!
Hello everyone, to whom can give me a solution: I've had issues for like 2 weeks now with iCue on my pc; all my cooling hardware (including the case and the PSU) is from Corsair. The iCue software started to not detect the AIO cooler or any of the other fans, but strangely enough it still detects the RAM DIMMs. I tried everything in this video and even got a new Commander Core thinking it would solve the issue, and nothing changed. It is worth mentioning that prior to using the new commander core, I sent it to a PC repair shop because my computer wasn't even loading games or even normal apps like Zoom (it has a Ryzen 7 5800X, RTX3080, 32 GB of Vengeance RAM, and 850W of PSU). The PC runs normally but even after doing a clean uninstall and reinstall of iCue COUNTLESS TIMES, and even updating my Motherboard BIOS, it still won't detect anything other than just the RAM DIMMs. I guess I'd still need to try another whole new AIO, but I am not planning to spend money on another AIO cooler. I am beginning to think it's either the PSU, the motherboard (Gigabyte B550 Vision DP), or even the fact that I am running windows 11. I am at the verge of formatting the PC to factory settings, and still I am afraid it won't work. Any other suggestions? Thanks.
Hi Samir Ali, i'm a bit late getting back to you, You may have tried this already, but I would simply the problem and isolate the hardware. Start with just seeing if you can get the Commander CORE recognized in icue. Disconnect the AIO from the 24 pin port....when the AIO is connected, it will detect as your AIO, when the AIO PUMP is unplugged from the 24 pin port, it should detect as a Commander CORE in icue. If that works and is detected, make sure all the fans work on it, both RGB and speed control, just to 'prove' that the CORE is good. Then reconnect the AIO, if it all disappears even using your new Commander CORE, Id suspect the AIO PUMP, but I would definitely try a new SATA power connection on a different cable. If you have one, try a powered USB hub as well, at least a different USB header, on your motherboard, simplify as much as you can. If you can get the core recognized by itself, i'd update the firmware, even force the firmware update if it's up to date, i've had to do that a couple of times. And, a couple of times, i've had to simply unplug power from the controller and let it sit for a minute or two. I recently had a Commander CORE go bad on me, after doing this video....it damaged a little chip on the board, i'm not sure how....i'm going to do a follow up video to this exploring the CORE a little more. Sorry your having trouble, it can be very frustrating...We've all been here. Let me know where you end up with it!! Thanks for watching!!!
@@HardwareArtisan Hey there! I haven't tried the 24-pin port thing, but I did try a different SATA PSU cable with the new commander core Corsair sent me and nothing changed. I also tried changing USB headers in the MOBO, nothing. And just to confirm, you're suggesting that I try unplugging the thicker cable that goes from the pump into the commander core with the PC still running? thank you!
Hmm, I've been dealing with the fact that my iCue software isn't detecting the H150i ELITE LCD XT components connected to the Core that came with it, but this video did make me think about the fact that I am using that Y cable that came with the AIO. Right now, the Core and my O11 Dynamic EVO's Case RGB header are connected to that Y-cable. I'm going to have to give that a try. My motherboard happens to have two available headers, so I hope this has been my problem. I guess I'll update this comment if that was the case. UPDATE: Well, I gave it a "college try", as my High School baseball coach used to say... I disconnected the iCue Commander and the O11's USB headers from the Corsair supplied Y cable, and plugged them directly into the two available USB 2.0 headers on my CrossHair VIII Dark Hero motherboard. No dice. I even tried swapping ports between the two, and still nothing. The case's RGB works and can be configured under Armoury Crate just fine, but iCue just does not see any sensors, the LCD, nor the motherboard (which it did at one point). I might end up trying an internal powered USB hub next (like the ones offered by Corsair or NZXT), which is likely my final hope before throwing in the towel. I mean sure, I could try poking around with Wireshark, but I've used it to track network traffic, and it can be a handful to get a good grasp of what's going on as it is... I can't imagine trying to track USB traffic. Anyway, my only other suspicion would be the Commander module itself, but the pump and LCD otherwise works fine, albeit with the default display and transitioning rainbow LCD pattern, so the module is getting power through the main harness. Bah, at this point, I'm just a little frustrated, considering that up until a few days ago, it was working/not working occasionally from power sequence to power sequence. 😩
Thx for video, Dude my problem is also same as uour topic. H150i doesnt detect from icue. Lcd shows liquid temp. Fans are spinning but no rgb light. What should I do? I readed all corsair helper still same
Appreciate this post. After watching this video and other forums, I did what I could and sadly, I still didn't get things to work. I purchased the Corsair 4000X Case which came with the Controller. Fan is working and RGB is working. The problem I still have is Windows gets the error code 43 Unknown USB which means I can't control my fan RGB :( Troubleshooting: - Reseated USB 2.0 header connection, Switched to other USB 2.0 header - Reseated SATA power connection, Switched to other SATA power connection - Used USB 3.0 to 2.0 converter header - Went from Intel Motherboard with Core i7 9700 to AMD Motherboard with Ryzen 5 2600 - Tried installing and reinstalling the various iCue software - Changed Power options to high performance and also configured in regedit.
Hi Jotaro, It sounds like you've tried all the basics. I'm going to assume other USB devices that are using the internal header work ok. You tried the 3.0 to 2.0 header which should help with any power issues, but if you can, try a powered USB hub. This device in the 4000x is a lighting node core, I wonder if perhaps it's just a bad controller, the 43 error may indicate a hardware error. I would try removing all other USB devices and their software, leaving only a keyboard or mouse connected, but it sounds like you've tried that. At that point, I would have to try another controller, Corsair may send that to you, but the lighting node core should be easy to find, check FB marketplace, ebay, etc. I hope that helps, keep at it and have fun with it!!! Thanks for watching!!!
Hi Stanley Perez, I've had that issue before, and it can be hard to nail down what is causing it. There is a way to tell windows to not notify you of changes in USB, but that's just a mask for the problem. I had to resort to removing all usb devices and add one at a time until it started doing it, and try a powered USB hub internally. I found that it was a USB HDD causing the issue last time, moving it to another port helped, but it still does it every now and then. I've had to leave it out a few times. Start with simplifying your setup, make sure all drivers are up to date and work back to adding everything. Good Luck, thanks for watching!!!!
Thanks so much for your posting all these great videos. You are my "go to" source when working with multiple Corsair fan configurations. Your in-depth / how to presentations are VERY helpful!
go into device manager > corsair commander core > uninstall device > unplug/ re-plug usb cord and it should install fresh again same problem i was having and i spend hours googling without luck this is the only method that fix my issue hope u fix yours
My Fans and Lights were working PREFECT (6 Corsair Fans and Pro Commander)... I installed iCUE updates from 3.38.61 to 5.16.75 ...........FAN LIGHTS quit working... I tried EVERYTHING for 8hrs... After HOURS of ^%$^%$*^ing around I noted I still had iCUE-Setup 3.36.61 in Downloads... so I uninstalled the current iCUE for the 20th time and installed the 3.36.61 and the FAN LIGHTS came back ON :)
ya nothing worked for me first bought new corsair hub then found this tried all this only 1 out of six fans light up been to long to return anything this just sucks. First time using all corsair
So my fans stopped blinking red when I disconnected one of my HDMI cables that connected to my 2nd monitor can someone tell me why that happened? I’m scared af to use my PC now 😂 last night Elden Ring played like a champ and this morning the RGBs were all blinking red my Corsair fans didn’t show up in iCUE app either now they are all there does having two monitors really cause this issue?
Corsair iCue is absolute mess. I couldn't even install it because their next button didn't work and no messages were popping up. So after Googling I had to change my locale and it went through. Then I booted into an empty application and my very expensive high end Corsair keyboard and mouse were not detected... I'm now into hour 3 of trying to get this thing to work...
Hi Lubos Maly, I'm sorry to hear the troubles with iCUE. It's mostly stable when i've used it, although i've had some hiccups with it at times. Some really basic suggestsions would be to disable all other rgb controlling software, uninstall icue and reinstall it. There was a recent update to ver 5.0 of icue, if you haven't installed that, try uninstalling, reboot and reinstalling the latest version. Let me know what you find, thanks for watching!!!
Hi Mikey Waite, thanks for the heads up, I haven't messed with wallpaper engine much, I'll have to try it and see if it breaks things, I could see that. Did it cause your controller to not be detected? Thanks for watching!!!!!
Yes. That's what seems to happen. After more tests I don't think it's a problem with Wallpaper because I still get issue and now I've purchased Scuff Envision Pro which is alsoset up via icue and giving me all kinds of issues.
Yay, I finally got ICUE to detect an LC100 controller. So my motherboard USB headers are fine. On the other hand, only the Master triangle lights up, the other 8 slave triangles do nthing at all. I think this thing died within the first 30 seconds of me hooking it up. I saw two other triangles light up and that was the end of that. No matter how I reconnect them, rearrange them in the software, switch channels, etc... I can't get anything but he Master to respond. The Master is responding just as it should. Just the rest of them are getting no serial RGB signal from it... at all. It's fried like your dead master triangle is fried in your other video. What am I suppose to do with an LC100 kit with just one triangle lighting up. Is this suppose to make me.. happy? is this suppose to be.. fun? This swwcks... chunks. All of Corsair RGB... swwcks chunks. Everythign else in my new PC I put together is running great and working.. except the Corsair RGB which is a hot defliected mess sh1tsh0w Next to the TILE location devices (100% useless) and AXIS flying box (shipped alpha non-working product to customers), Corsair RGB is one of the 3 worst product I've bought in the last... 3 years. As son as I get my never video card, I'm making a video about just how bad this crrrp is.
Oh No! I'm sorry to hear that AnbuRain! I understand your frustration though, it's not a perfect solution thats for sure. Thanks for watching, let me know if I can help!
@DaRealKing303, that sucks, i'm sorry you're having issues with it. Do hit me up on email if I can help, andrew@hardwareartisan.com. Good luck!!! Thanks for watching!!!
Hi henrytoler5023, it sounds like you've had some poor experiences with iCUE. It's certainly not a perfect piece of software. I've had more luck with it than any of the other RGB/Device control software. But....I've sworn at iCUE more than one, haha. From that end, I can't argue much with your sentiment! Are you having a specific problem?
@@HardwareArtisan Yes it stops recognizing the AIO pump and 1 fan . I have updated uninstalled reinstalled re updated all components . It mostly happens when I have to do a system restart . Most times from a cold boot it works .
I opened my case and turns out that the USB header was behind the motherboard after I upgraded it😂 in such case just find the pins labeled as JUSB 1 or 2 or sometimes just USB 1 or 2
I have an Alienware R16.
Did you solve it? I don't have the liquid cooling but the comander core xt is not recognized, even though the fan and rgb lights do turn on
5 hours of non-stop software diagnostics and debbugging later...
Yeah, it's a joke!
Swapping the SATA power to a different cable worked for me. Thank you for this guide. I work in a lab breaking into electronics and for the life of me could not get these to work. Thank you again.
Hi Basically Bane, I'm happy to hear you got it working, good work!! I'm happy the video was helpful, thanks for watching!!!
Find a resolution? I’m having the same issue
same problem here
Same any luck ?
@@janaydaniels4573 For me it turned out i didn’t plug one of the intertwined usbs to the motherboard form the commander. fixed it
I have a question about my corsar sp 120 RGB fans, the white does not look good, it looks like yellow, could it be that the LEDs are already bad?
I recently installed 2 new fans into my case, and now icue does not detect any of the fans. The day before I installed the new fans, i cue picked up the 3 fans i had installed just fine, now it doesnt pick up anything after I installed the new fans. I already checked and have made sure there is no issue with cables or power or anything inside the case, the fans still spin and my 3 original fans still have a static purple color but the 2 new ones are white. What do I do??
Same issue! Did you fix it?
@@spamurai565 Yes but im sorry bro I dont remember what I did, i will tell you if I ever remember but I am fairly certain it was a software issue, and I didnt have to physically do anything to the fans or rgb controller
Thanks for the info. The Corsair commander pro and AIO cooler won't both show up in iCUE at the same time. How do I connect the rear exhaust fan in the Corsair 5000d Airflow case?
Here's what you can do on ICUE
Can do: Nothing
Can't do: Everything
started playing cyberpunk and noticed how hot it was getting so decided to check the fans and noticed that the commander core wasn't detected by icue. They still spinn and im able to control their color but not their fan speed.
Should I use the USB power or SATA power cable to connect the iCUE box? I was thinking, does the software detect the box better through SATA or USB?
How many fans can you power from a single sata power cable? Installing 10 QL with a core xt, and core controller that came with the AIO cooler.
Bout Hi170 elite lcd Fans spins but no RGB. CC not showing up in icue…this is crazy!!!
I use Coolermaster Masterfans with the Commander to control fan speeds. I have two commanders and both of them show up under software updates but I can't control the fan speeds
I heard that fan control does work with third party fans
Thanks for watching, good luck and have fun troubleshooting!!
so, ICUE sees my commander core in the software update, however it does not show it on the dashboard or in the firmware update section.
Same issue here
I fixed it, you need to uninstall both headers' drivers in Device Manager. They are called "Generic USB Hub", it is shown in the video. After uninstalling them, you reboot the system and pray for the best. Mine show up in ICUE as my h150i pump itself, apart from my other Commander. Hope this helps.
My fans spin for 5 seconds when I turn the pc on and then they stop. Fans and AIO not detected in Icue. I’m not able to figure what the issue is
My commander pro and light node did work for a long time. Then I had to update Icue and they no longer showed up on the list. Tried to install an older version of Icue, but still nothing. The fans are running and the lights work. I just cant controll them. Some days it suddenly works again, but the next day its gone. Dont think I will by Corsair hardware again.
If I figure out that another RGB Cooling software is interfering with iCUE, what would you say is the next step? (I also have the NZXT CAM software)
-----
Nope still not seeing either box, in ICue 5.3
I'm temtped to mail these two dmmn useful things to you to see if you can get them to work and add to your wall, because they are useless junk to me at this point.
First time installing this stuff, and it has never ever worked. I mean the Commander Core displays the RGB rainbow puke on anythign plugged into it... by default. The CORE Xt doesn't display anything on anything plugged into it. Standing alone plugged into their own individual motherboard ehaders, not daisy chained (like I tried when I first set them up).
i have the h150 lcd elite xt and neither the commander pro or the lcd screen apear on icue i tried changing sata idk didnt fix
i also have a lightning node pro im thinkink to disconect
Thank you!
Thank you for all the Corsair content
Thanks Vanhelsingle! Thanks for watching!
i have 2 lightning node core I connected them using a usb 2.0 header splitter when I installed it wont detect anything, any ideas?

Make sure your fans are connected to the motherboard fan headers

My corsair Hub only 1-3 slots works and 4-6 not works Leds not showing up.. fans spinning all.. is my hub broken? i have corsair commander pro and linked corsair hub..
Powered sata cable.🤔🤔
Thanks for watching.
my fans work but i cant change anything on the screen of my aio and the fans will not light up but they do spin

The usb hub method worked for me I think the splitter they included was causing the problems thanks
Hi Dylan, I'm glad to hear you got it going, nice work!!! Thanks for watching!!!
I try the first option and it works. It seems like it was not recognizing the Node Core due to Armoury Crate was the one controlling it, i uninstalled both, reinstalled icue and is all working perfectly
Hi AngelHurtado-ez1wx, that's good news! I'm happy you got it working! Thanks for watching!!!
RGB hub connects to SATA and what???

MY h100x AIO is not detect on Icue iel why
Hi wayt7792, unfortunately the h100x AIO is not supported in iCUE, the pump has no connectivity to the USB bus so iCUE will not see it, you control this one manually through the PWM headers on your motherboard or your fan controller. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching!!!
My issue is with the RGB Strips. Bought the item twice from amazon, and both times they are not working with my commander core xt.
Newest iCUE software
Current BIOS and Chipset for my MOBO
Tried connecting them together at first, then individually (powering my machine each time) to Commander Core XT directly, nothing happens.
I hope that helps solve it, good luck, have fun (troubleshooting is fun, right!?) , let me know what you find!

fixed my fans after 4 years of neglect. lol. Thanks Sir
I have it hooked up the same way on my other pc. Fans and rgbs work at turn on. This pc the power and rgb won’t even turn on
Hello everyone, to whom can give me a solution:
I've had issues for like 2 weeks now with iCue on my pc; all my cooling hardware (including the case and the PSU) is from Corsair.
Thanks.
Same issue, just ram, frustrating. Send to corsair nothing change.
same issue here, everything was working fine then today after reboot iCue only sees my GPU and RAM but my AIO will not get detected!
Any uppdates? Is it work? I have the same problem.
Thx for video,
Dude my problem is also same as uour topic. H150i doesnt detect from icue. Lcd shows liquid temp. Fans are spinning but no rgb light. What should I do? I readed all corsair helper still same
I'm having the same problem
@@mrkmh1 😔 maybe cc is not working cuz we saw lcd screen and spin fans. Tomorrow I will buy it. I hope it will solve it.
I have icue h150i cooler show up but no RGB work. It works in previous 3 icue software . I have an Intel Mobo.
@@MetalliacFeather I solve it. My CC is not working properly. Then I change it. Now it is working. there is no problem.
Appreciate this post. After watching this video and other forums, I did what I could and sadly, I still didn't get things to work.
I purchased the Corsair 4000X Case which came with the Controller. Fan is working and RGB is working.
The problem I still have is Windows gets the error code 43 Unknown USB which means I can't control my fan RGB :(
Troubleshooting:
- Reseated USB 2.0 header connection, Switched to other USB 2.0 header
- Reseated SATA power connection, Switched to other SATA power connection
- Used USB 3.0 to 2.0 converter header
- Went from Intel Motherboard with Core i7 9700 to AMD Motherboard with Ryzen 5 2600
- Tried installing and reinstalling the various iCue software
- Changed Power options to high performance and also configured in regedit.

I keep hearing my pc usb connection sound and is happening after I updated my pc
My fans spin but have no rgb. Pls help
go into device manager > corsair commander core > uninstall device > unplug/ re-plug usb cord and it should install fresh again same problem i was having and i spend hours googling without luck this is the only method that fix my issue hope u fix yours
You missed writing the controller a Manifesto..You know its always the last thing you try that fixes it too...
lol, Those are true words for sure!!! Thanks for watching ones1xty!!!
ya nothing worked for me first bought new corsair hub then found this tried all this only 1 out of six fans light up been to long to return anything this just sucks.
@@HardwareArtisan I had to get rid of my Express VPN to get steelseries detected so these apps seem all busted up
I'm pretty certain that wallpaper engine interferes with this Icue.
Everythign else in my new PC I put together is running great and working.. except the Corsair RGB which is a hot defliected mess sh1tsh0w
Next to the TILE location devices (100% useless) and AXIS flying box (shipped alpha non-working product to customers), Corsair RGB is one of the 3 worst product I've bought in the last... 3 years. As son as I get my never video card, I'm making a video about just how bad this crrrp is.

It’s poor software plain and simple.

Yes it stops recognizing the AIO pump and 1 fan .
I have updated uninstalled reinstalled re updated all components .
It mostly happens when I have to do a system restart . Most times from a cold boot it works .
gays problem, they leave without Telling people what they want 🤣
I opened my case and turns out that the USB header was behind the motherboard after I upgraded it😂
in such case just find the pins labeled as JUSB 1 or 2 or sometimes just USB 1 or 2
