- Poly Bridge 3 Part 1 - bridge game 3 is out in a week, and I'm so excited to play the game early! In order to keep the early game fun, I'm challenging myself to beat the entire game, with only half the allowed budget!

RCE makes bridges. Aliensrock makes every effort to *not* make bridges. I think RCE was the real civil engineer 😂
For those that don't understand how the leaderboard system now works:
Each bridge scores on all 3 leaderboards at the same time. One of your bridges is optimised for cost, other one of your bridges are optimised for stress, and your 3rd bridge is optimised for weight.
So we will have multiple bridges for different leaderboards on the same level.
It works just like any Zachtronics games' leaderboards.
On the 1st level for example, the dangling road was 90+% maximum stress, but his proper trussed bridge was 30.74% maximum stress. Therefore, his position on the stress leaderboard didn't change since he scored the trussed bridge first, but on the cost (and probably weight) leaderboards, he did improve his position.
Do you do dev work on PB or something? I'm just curious since you seem to know exactly how PB programmed their leaderboards...
@@Bama_Boy No I'm not. I just reckognize this type of leaderboard from Zachtronics games, since I played all of them in the past. :)

Yeah it works the same way in PB2. Only difference is there's 3 instead of normal and unbreaking.

I bet you how the lowest stress works is your average stress overall, so high spikes increase it but don't ultimately kill it.
It may also be resting stress with no cars on it
what I want to know is how HIGH can you get the stress while still completing the level?

My understanding is that out of all successful bridges (under budget), it takes the one that had the lowest maximum stress.
This will often be different to the one with the lowest budget.
The leaderboards work exactly as in any Zachtronics game.
So we will have multiple bridges required for acquiring leaderboard positions on different leaderboards in the later game. (probably... Im thinking of you, falling road)
After weeks of worm rockets and numerous pegging sessions, I am excited for more bridge game. Hell fucking yes.

Loving the return to Polybridge, it was one of the first series I watched on your channel. The changes so far seem good. Would love if we could see more replays of the top bridges of different leaderboard sections. Helps those of us who don’t own the game to be able to see them.

I like how the materials now have some elasticity to them; the bridges sometimes sag under weight.

Poly Bridge 3: Where's Your Dangling Road Bridge Savior Now?
The picture of the chick popping up on screen when tyler said "cheap cheap" genuinely made me laugh out loud.
Fun Fact:
Dangling road is mostly known by another name . . . whitch is "Rope Bridge"
because in most cases and aplications the road is suspended by hanging ropes
Will watch these more generally when I play the game some. Though excited to eventually watch you on this.

Especially on the Boat Bridge level, I think further gains can be made by not making the bridge symmetrical. In general the downhill part needs less support.

The lowest stress (1:50) is the bridge's initial stress before any force is acted on or towards it i.e. the vehicles weight or hydraulics or the stress at the midpoint of the bridge.
And i guess its for the most stable or strong bridge
no it doesnt seem to be that on the later bridges
@@benismann it might be the stress if the bridge when the vehicle enters and or exits the midpoint of the bridge
@@notad-class3899 idk, "lowest stress" seems like just a category name to me, and the other time it showed the stress shown at the end of the level

I’m pretty sure its bugged currently since its early access, I don’t buy that that many people have the same stress, even if it is the resting stress.
