@@maxxyian2yt243 Yes exactly! People don't understand this, the first ever scene was a truck that said Rogers on the side full of electronics and the guy telling the crew on the phone which truck it was and not to forget his cut basically showcasing it as a movie about crime.
How it should be also if u wanna see good car action its made by the director or writer of 2 Fast the original one and Tokyo Drift its called Overdrive from 2018 one of my favorite "true" car movies of all time

I've heard that everyone involved are the most wanted in their field and studios are in hot pursuit to get them in to other productions. They really put up some high stakes to get them, even going so far as to put people undercover and go unleashed. I want to really work in two more titles in to this and then make a nonsense sentence, but I'm not sure how to do so I'm just gonna end this with carbon.
and thus need for speed peaked, never to return to the height of those two amazing games.

More like the other way around though… The Need for Speed series started in the mid-90’ while Fast and the Furious didn’t come around until early 2000’s.

I have owned several imported Nissan's and let me tell you a gtr is not shit compared to the technical marvel that is an Agera R.
The Agera R became my favorite car after I played Most Wanted '12. Seeing three of them in the theater when I was like 12 years old was the best thing ever. Dope ass ride.

This movie is what fast and furious should've been. Real stunts, simple story, and good acting. Aaron Paul's face after seeing his friend die is genuine, way better than a stony faced smoulder stare followed by some generic crap like 'words ain't been invented yet' or 'something something family'

Still the over the top stunts and turning from a movie about street racers to a borderline spy flick has killed the franchise to me. It’s just generic action at this point. Yeah, they unfairly sinned this movie hard. The movie explains almost everything properly, has practical stunts and many awesome scenes, but they gave it multiple sins for the smallest of things, and never took any away.

Yes they've heard of power to weight ratio, and that's why the lambo shouldn't be catching up with the koenigsegg. Matter of fact, the agera r has 1140hp/2900lb, sesto elemento has 562hp/2200lb. Do the math with power to weight ratios it aint hard.

Nevermind, let's look at facts. From the koenigsegg's spec sheet:
Turbo: 1.4 bar boost pressure, 0.5 bar boost pressure @ 2300 rpm, Full turbo spool up @ 2700 rpm
1.4 bar = 20, lets say at most, 21psi.
21psi spooling up at 2700rpm means that theres no chance that while they're shifting gears well above 5000rpm, that our main character here is facing turbo lag. I already incorporated the fact the lambo is 700lbs lighter (25% lighter or only 75% of the koenigsegg's weight) but it doesn't make up for the fact the koenigsegg has double the horsepower.
Your comment is invalid and childish. Throttle response and turbo lag won't matter while you're ALREADY at 5000+rpm holding the accelerator down. And even if it did, this car is making DOUBLE the horsepower... It won't be caught up to like that in any way...
If you do want to get hung up on small insignificant technicals. The sesto elemento has a poor slow auto-manual transmission while the agera uses the fastest type of transmission in the game, a dual clutch.
You can not argue with physics and energy. The koenigsegg outputs DOUBLE (2x) the horsepower while only being 1.3 times the weight. Power to weight is SHATTERED. Disregarding their vastly different top speeds of 200 mph and 279 mph respectively. I hope there won't be another reply to further embarrass yourself.
Best thing I can say about this movie is that it was refreshing to see a simple racing car flick in the void left by the increasingly outlandish F&F at that point. And Michael Keaton is always a treat.
12:57-13:08 Now hold up. It's true the driver doesn't look like Sandra Bullock, but I would vouch for him looking like the stunt driver we would see on occasion when Sandra would suddenly pick up a few pounds in certain scenes in the film, so maybe it's just simply a deep cut, ha ha.

Saw this movie at least 50 times back in the day. Good entertainment. And now, because of it, 'do a Dino Bambino' and 'dirty PIT maneuver' means the exact same thing for me and some friends of mine.
On most Canon cameras it uses the Red Circle to indicate its on Standby and a RED SQUARE to indicate that it is actively Rolling
And many other software too, since a square is the "stop recording" button, it often indicates you actually are recording
Having ambition is all it takes to make a videogame adaptation work
That's why most videogame adaptations in the past failed, because the studio hired people that didn't understand videogames or filmmaking
That's why recent adaptations like "Detetive Pikachu", "Sonic The Hedgehog", "Arcane" and "The Last of Us" worked, because the people behind it understood the games and the media

Street Fighter: The Movie
The last of us is dog shit, and three episodes in… RELAX.
Not just that but they work because they're faithful to the core material (to varying extents) while still adding a unique spin and exploring the finer details in ways that a video game just can't. The cinematic work in Arcane and TLoU is phenomenal to boot (havne't seen the other two you listed).
Bonus sin: When the Ageras were shown, Dino said they belonged to his uncle but when the race ended the one Tobey used was registered to Dino.
This movie is what Fast and Furious SHOULD'VE been. About cars, not mission impossible/Avengers type movies

I met my girlfriend the night i watched this movie. It was two of my buddies and i just sitting around watching this when this girl my friend knew asked us to come swim. We finished watching the movie and went over there and hung out. That was almost 10 years ago, and had it not been for us deciding to watch this horrible movie, i wouldnt have an almost 3 year old boy and the best family i could ask for

There was an altercation between him and Jeremy Clarkson (another polarising figure) where Clarkson punched Piers. There are several reasons why Clarkson is divisive in people's eyes but punching Piers Morgan, even to this day, is definitely not one of them.

I absolutely love this movie despite its flaws. If you think of it as a continuation of Cannonball Run, it seems better. I had an opportunity to have my copy of the movie signed by Aaron Paul, but I forgot the disc at home and didn’t get to the venue the night before

I just realized some of the interior shots from Tobys point of view are a reference of some of the shots from various need for speed games. That iconic first person view i know other need for speeds have it however i think most wanted has the most first person shots
This movie is seriously underrated...
This video was interesting for me because I've been to a couple of locations seen in the movie. In the scene with the Mustang on a racetrack, it's at Road Atlanta, turn two where I've raced both IRL (Panoz racing school) and virtual (iRacing). The lighthouse at the end of the movie is one I ran across in Northern California at Point Arena. It's the same lighthouse in the Mel Gibson movie "Forever Young".
I went to see this in cinemas when I was 15, and I had been binge playing need for speed rivals at the time. Let's just say it was like the BEST thing ever! Now I've seen it again I can see the many issues and plot holes, but at the end of the day it's still a cool movie and reminds me of the fond memories playing the nfs games as a kid.

i know ive watched this movie more times than i should have but i just enjoyed it that much. Sure the story has a lot of cracks in it , but its still a really good watch.

I remember paying to see this movie almost entirely due to them filming for a day or two in Columbus,GA where I was in college at the time. It was used for the bridge crash scene at 9:40, and I still find it funny that everything leading up to the bridge was edited to look like the backwoods so that it didn't show them driving through the former "Sin City" of Phenix City, Alabama.
Either way I have a lot of nostalgia for this movie and I still love it maybe not completely as a nfs movie but one in general
Let’s also acknowledge the fact that this was a Disney Movie.
Trips to Home Depot are absolutely exciting! Look at all the types of carpet and blinds! And the paint…don’t get me started about the paint section.
4:30 likely Dino gave Tobey the job because he never intended to pay for the work - he intended on ripping Toby off by offering the 25% upfront then after making a bet where Tobey would give back up that 25%. The restaurant scene explains that Dino isn't making profit in his dealerships and is in need of investment, so he was after whatever extra he could get his hands on. He likely knew Tobey would take up the bet by playing on their rivalry. The bet worked out in his favour as he got to pocket 100% from the Mustang deal with Inghram.
Non car guys failed to realize that they were driving Road Atlanta in GA (backwards half the time) and called it their own track. Also, the grasshopper scene had the car magically on shitty base wheels when he was in the air and somehow the car wasn't scratched despite crumbling on the landing.
296 sins and it's STILL one of my fav car movies! Sometimes you just need to turn your brain off, but awesome video, I laughed my ass off.

This is a nigh perfect movie. I really love it. Real cars, real sound, natural vibrant look and a very likeable cast. Can't complain.

Biggest sin for this movie, for me, was that there was nothing in the film that actually tied it to the franchise that gave it its name, like you could have called this movie by a different name and it wouldn’t have made a difference.
The NFS series doesn’t have the deepest lore but it’s there. Throw in some mentions to locations or characters from the games…
I've seen that said so many times and it's utter horseshit. If people racing 3 Extremely expensive hypercars with the cops chasing them on public roads full of traffic including drivers jumping over the central reservation and driving head on into oncoming traffic before wiping out opponents is NOT Need for Speed then you have clearly never played the games.

That's kinda funny, considering the franchise ITSELF takes on entirely different identities every few entries.
90s - 2004 was arcade with one simcade (Porsche Unleashed) in the mix.
BlackBox (2004 -2008, 2011) went from tuner culture (U and U2), to police pursuits (MW), to crews and canyon duels (Carbon), to race festivals (ProStreet), to crime thriller (Undercover), then went cinematic (The Run).
Slightly Mad was sim (2009, 2011), Criterion (2010, 2012) was full arcade, Ghost (2013, 2015) was also full arcade before erroneously going back to Underground-style (Reboot), then badly done F&F-style plot (Payback).
Mentioning a few characters is welcome, but the overall premise is very NFS.

I unironically enjoyed the hell out of this movie. Really wished it did better in the box office. And I thoroughly appreciated all the hard work they put in to make the stunts practical

I learned about Imogen Poots from this movie, and I remember quite liking it.
Underrated movie
It's definitely not a perfect movie lol, but from a gearhead's pov these are some of the best racing scenes in recent movies, respect for that, and deserves a sequel
Fun fact, the order in which the racers started in the first race was actually done using playing cards. For whatever reason, theY cut the scene from the movie which is a sin.
