It's that kind of thing that makes old cars have so much character because the designers actually gave a damn.
My grandfather was a radio lab engineer for Chrysler during the 50's. One thing he couldn't solve is the skipping due to bumps or lateral g-forces without damaging the record itself. This is why the option was extremely short lived, 55-57 if memory serves. By the time this 1966 Chrysler Imperial came out, there was no record player option. OP's comment is correct, just not for the specific year this car was built.

Regarding that scene where the front end of the car is driving through the office building with no rear end..... That should not be possible, as it was a 1966 Chrysler Imperial, which was REAR wheel drive! To the best of my knowledge, nothing in the movie indicated that the car had been specially modified to be front-wheel drive.
It cracks me up that Hollywood has been fu**ed up enough that Seth Rogen gets/has gotten serious, non stoner leads. You can really see how much better the Asian dude had to be in order to compensate for how hilariously Rogan struggles in the action scenes.
Watched this when I was 12, and I enjoyed it. Now, I've realized that this movie is so freakin' exhausting and Christolph Waltz totally carried this movie. This was my first movie of him, and Seth Rogen, Cameron Diaz, and David Harbour. I watched this basically because of Jay Chou, I had seen him in Initial D movie.
I just wish Jay Chou had actually composed a song for this movie instead of just using his "Nunchucks" song which came out 10 years before this movie did.
