    I have said this to others, I would be very interested in getting a Velomobile like this. Sadly, I am only getting little over $800 a month because of being on Disability Income. I do not have much more the $20 left over after my bills are paid each month.

    It's a really nice bike. I rode in this exact machine back in June. Handles really well, beautiful build quality and it feels tight and firm.

    My opinion is : This vehicles are PERFECT ! A most beautifull form, best streamline. wonderfull vehicles. This cars , in combination with an electric helpmotor would be the best vehicle for every person in a town. Couse, the little Batterie you cane take at evening home , loading in the night and and the place for parking is better to find for this as for an great E. Automiobil. For me this could and should be the future, thats my opinion ( naturally not for all, but for mutch people)

    Wow, John! That Quattro Velo is stunning! It's great that you and Stuart got the opportunity to ride one. And that Duo Quest looks to be the perfect family car. Wonderful and great good fun. Thanks for letting those of us on the other side of the pond come along with you. Cheers!

    I SOOO love the Quattro!!! My favorite comment of your in the video “DF or Quattro which one do I want?” I am not sure that I could make the choice. BTW, it is great living vicariously through your videos!!! You are getting to do exactly what I dream of. Visiting the factories of these amazing vehicles

    I am an experienced Quest rider from New Zealand. See "Planet Pride in the south pacific" for my velomobile journeys. I think the 4 wheeler makes real sense. I used to ride my Quest on a stretch where the tar seal road had a steep camber. I found myself going right up close to the centre line (near the traffic) to avoid the worst of the camber as I felt I was at risk of tipping. (You have limited ability to lean obviously).
    On another occasion, I got out of the Quest to park up with the bike on a slight angle and it actually did tip over which was embarrassing.
    That was more my fault however as I should have chosen a flatter area to park. Nothing against the 3 wheel Quest though as in 99 percent of cases, they are an absolute joy to own. I'm just saying the 4 wheeler would correct the 2 problems I raised and I'm guessing thats why they were designed. The 4 wheelers look stunning too!

    I might have to come up and visit you guys soon looks like hpv's have come a long way over the last few years since I moved to Cornwall. Good to see Stewart and yourself looking well, did see him briefly in Penzance a while back. Great looking machine did you try any with a power meter would be interesting to see some figures given the extra wheels and body width. Compaired to other combos. Couldn't help thinking it could do with an elasticated cover that extends a little closer to the your face for wet weather.

    Thank you for posting this! At present I am using an ICE Adventure 26 for riding to work, but want something for the rain/cold days of winter. I fell in love with the lines of the Quattro the first time I saw one on the 'Laidback bike report', and after reading Allert Jacobs' blog, (on the velomobiel nl website) recording how it was designed and built, (well worth reading!), I have decided to order one. I am just waiting for the £ Euro exchange rate to improve a bit, as it is bouncing around like a pogo stick at the moment.
    What I am stuck on is weather to get a mountain drive, or a standard 3 chain ring/10 speed then fitting a Bafang pedal assist later. I live on top of a hill; after 16.5 miles and a night shift, a steep climb at the end is not pleasant :-(.
    Your video does confirm for me that getting one is a good idea though!

    • @johnwilliams3067
      @johnwilliams3067 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Con Cahill my mate John Highhet owns the blue and yellow Quattro in my Vlogs, and he has a mountain drive. He has never found a hill too steep to climb on numerous tours around France even on gravel so I would definitely advise you to go for it, and then you would not need the bafang.

    • @coniow
      @coniow 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for that sage advice John. I know Joseph Janning (aka Rhein 228) has a mountain drive as well. I suspect that the problem would lie with the worn out donkey that would power it, IE me :-).

    It's great to have such a detailed series of videos about this debated and very interesting machine, thanks a lot.
    By the way, if you ever came to Italy in vacation one day please contact us, we'll let you test our "F1 a pedali" cars (formula 1 on pedal) if you like riding on four wheels! I think that there are some points in common with the QV, especially the lots-of-fun side. We don't manufacture or sell anything though. I also know that in the UK there's a similar kind of championship, called the BPCC or similar if I remember well.

      MINO73 thank you and yes I will definitely look you guys up the next time I am in Italy. You are right, there is a series of races run by the British pedal car championship. They asked me to race for one of the teams last year, but unfortunately I didn't have enough time.

    Even with the visor down, it seems like that piece over and behind your head would act as a scoop or trap of the wind, slowing it down. Where does the air travel over the body? Does the front end direct the wind up and over the top of the head?

  • @klerkan

    • @velo-ads4206
      @velo-ads4206  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      klerkan it's pretty impossible to find any hills in and around Dronten unfortunately. But my mate has one in Hertfordshire and he has no problems with traction up the super steep climbs around there.

    Now that you have ridden the DF and Quad. Which one do think is better?

    • @velo-ads4206
      @velo-ads4206  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are both stupendous Machines,the Df is a fast day tourer/racer/commuter.While the Quattro is a supreme touring machine,they are both top notch but made for different purposes.If i could only have one i would choose the Quattro as i would be able to carry my son with me and it is more stable,plus the option of a drag brake for mountainous decents is very appealing.

    Second or maybe third time I've watched this video and I have to say that is one beautiful machine and looks perfect for long distance touring. So as this video was published in Nov 2017 did you buy one in the end? and if so how is it performing? I would love to see if I can arrange a test drive somehow. Can the public go to they're factory to have a go or is it through dealers in this country?

    • @velo-ads4206
      @velo-ads4206  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have one on order, there is a one year waiting list. You can go over to the factory and test. Call them in advance, I will be reviewing mine as soon as I get it.

    Well, I love the Quattro Velo! I think I'd really like that secure feeling that you reported about riding it. Did you mention if it is driven by two or one wheel at the rear? Two wheel drive with differential would make it really good for keeping traction on steep hills.

    • @velo-ads4206
      @velo-ads4206  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      brighton dude yep its two wheel drive

    • @coniow
      @coniow 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      + Brighton dude, if you read Allert Jacobs' blog
      velomobiel.wordpress.com/
      about the design and build of the Quattrovelo, he covers the drive and suspension. It IS 2 wheel drive, but does not use a differential, rather 2 free-wheeling hubs, so the drive is to both wheels on the straight, then to the 'driven' wheel on a curve. Keeps it simple, reduces cost over a diff, and works well. His explanation is better than mine!
      Well worth a read, but with 2 years of designing, there is a lot of it.
