Well I bought this right after seeing this episode. It has 63,000+ miles on it and I’m on my 4th set of tires, it’s so easy to wear out tires because your always taking on & off ramps on the limit not to mention a good Mountain road. You can get up to 260 hp with just Bolt on’s & a tune, I have many Mods and it’s a good looking car as well, I get compliments on a daily basis, there not a dime a dozen, so you don’t see them every time you turn your head around like you do with Honda Civics. It’s great on a long road trip and at 80 mph you’ll get 32 mpg 39 at 65. Best bang for your buck, Drive one I guarantee it’ll put a smile on your face.
The front turn in on this car is simply amazing just look how the inside rear tire comes off the ground during the emergency Lane change. Most other front drivers just understeer when pushed hard.
My first car was a '79 Ford Fiesta. I regularly visited the local junk yards looking for parts for my '65 Mustang project. One time I came across a left-hand drive imported XR2 Fiesta. My dad and I removed every engine, interior, suspension and exterior part that we could and turned mine into a XR2 replica. That was a fun car for a 16 year old. Too bad someone t-boned my car not too far away from my neighborhood.😢
Same here, I keep looking at other cars to buy but then I think about how little I paid for my Fiesta and there is nothing else I could replace it with for the price
@@spamcan9208 Tuning the Fiesta is super easy. You would need a Cobb Accessport which runs about $500 new. It comes preloaded with tuning maps out of the box that will change the characteristics of the car tremendously. As for running E30, you would need a custom tune for that. Companies like Stratified or tune plus can help you get the results you're after, and those run between $150-$300 depending on your options selection. I too have a full bolt on E30 FiST, but looking back all you really need is an Accessport, upgraded intercooler and a rear motor mount upgrade. Everything else is for noise/prep for going big turbo.
Why do people in the US complain about not having a two door option. We only have a two door option here in Australia and the point of this car is it's a use able every day car as well as a lil rocket. Two doors make it much less functional especially if you have a family, I'd much rather the 4 door but that's just me, either way I don't mind.
+lalala kieran I agree, lalala. We Americans can be whiny. I'm just glad Ford brought these hot hatches to the states. I enjoy they 5 door functionality.
I LOVE the Fiesta. I haven't driven the ST yet but the amount of fun I've had in the base engine, 6 speed dual clutch auto makes me wary of test driving an ST, for I would probably buy it on the spot. However the biggest complaint I have is the interior. I'm 6'2" and when I adjust the seat for my size, my left elbow is well beyond the door's armrest and into the B-pillar. I think a 2 door would give my elbow a place to rest on long highway drives.
Owners and testers loved it. Me too. But Americans only saw a little car for little people. The average 250+# American just walked on by and plopped into a Tahoe. Ya need that 4 wheel drive on the way to get a superbag of wings at Costco.
I love MW. Grew up watching it. And I realize this is almost a decade late, bit they tested the car with regular. With premium fuel, I'm confident that the performance numbers and mpg would increase. Just a nit pik, but worth mentioning. I am biased, as I own a fiST, but this car is fantastic. If you have the chance, try to drive one.
Glad to see Ford and so many other companies doing this. Honda/Toyota really fell out of the market for small sporty fun cars in the early 2000's. The void was there and Ford and others have really stepped up lately to fill it. OH well Honda/Toyota, your loss.
WSKRBSCT Plus, there are a bunch of different factors - driver, surface, atmospheric conditions, etc. That said, it is possible that if going by speedometer, 60 mph in many cars isn't quite 60. By law in Europe, speedos are calibrated to read high. I imagine that is so you can't say you were doing 60 when they clock you at 70. Don't believe me? Drive around with your phone's GPS and see how it compares. More info, google it or peep this: www.caranddriver.com/features/speedometer-scandal
I own one so I'm biased. Mines black and I think it looks better in that color but it does look a little cut off or too shortened. Either way it's a great car especially for the money.
Looks exactly like mine did. It was fun but not as great of fun as so many like to say. It was quick but nothing to write home about in the handling. And had some quality issue. Still I miss it
@@thisisrob8750 I just want to be clear. I love my FiST. It is the greatest car I have ever driven. I'm in disagreement with OP. I can imagine my wording made it seem otherwise.

he did mention that they got 29 mpg "on regular". no sure if that means they were filling it with reg the whole time they had it. if they were, then they probably ended up with performance results that weren't up to the cars potential.
Too bad this car rides like crap and the Recaro seats are terrible. I'm only 5' 6" and weighing only 130 lbs and I couldn't get comfortable in the damn thing; it's that small.
Unless you're close personally with the person in the passenger seat, you're going to rub elbows. The ride in everyday is atrocious and unless your passengers in the rear have no legs, you're not going to fit them there or any of your stuff in the trunk. Fun car, but don't make it a daily driver.

that car is slower compared to this car plus this acts better to mods than the frs and its cheaper
Right. It doesn't help that most Honda products since that time-frame have been beaten with an Ugly Stick too.
The 7.1 is a bit wrong; I get 0-60 in 6.5 sec.
Motorweek uses very highly calibrated and expensive equipment to do their instrumented tests. I'll go with their numbers.
