    Definitely talk to your doctor about when to start feeding your baby solids. Most people start around 6 months old but some babies are ready a little sooner. I agree it's easy to forget what you did with previous babies -- I couldn't remember a lot of things I did with baby #1 by the time I got to baby #5!

    Do we feed our baby the rice cereal 🥣 first and then their regular bottle right after?

    What no one seems to answer for me is how often in a day should your baby be eating food? Twice a day? I'm stuck on this one. My daughter is only 3 months at the moment but will be starting solid foods next month. I want to be ready with all the information I need to know. Brilliant video, by the way. Very informative. I just need to know how often the baby can have food. xx

      4 months is really too young to start solids. talk to your pediatrician.

      @Whichofthefavors 8 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      +G La Doctors advise to start solids at 4 months for formula fed babies and 6 months for breastfed babies. Since breastmilk is way more healthier than formula, solids can be delayed past 6 months. When the baby is more hungry, start solids. One has to use their initiative and go by the babies cues.

    how often do you feed them? I'm a breastfeeding mom and just gave my son his first food. How many times. a week or day should I be giving this to him?

    • @Whichofthefavors
      @Whichofthefavors 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      As the Mother... you decide what schedule is best for your baby. Don't go by what someone advises on a youtube video. I was confused too but I just used my own initiative. Try giving your baby a small portion of fruits or vegetables perhaps once a day. See how the baby likes it. Then go to two times a day and then three. Always give your baby breastmilk first and then after 30mins - 1 hour, try giving the baby some food and see how the baby goes. I have just started solids with my 10 month old... yes 10 month old. This is my first baby. I have kept her on breastmilk all this time and would give her banana/strawberry etc every so often but not everyday. She has never spat up the food. She is content. You decide what you want to do, you carried the baby for 9 months not the doctors. You know your baby better than anyone else. You know whats best and I trust you will make the right decision. All the best.

    Hi Melissa! thanks for all the very informative videos especially for new moms like me. I just want to ask how you heat up the defrosted foods. Do you use the microwave or steam them again? Again, thanks and keep up the good work!

    • @cloudmom
      @cloudmom  10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      ***** HI Florence, I love your name -- is it French? I never used the microwave for my babies. I put the frozen food into lukewarm water and let it defrost. You can also take it out of the freezer and put it in the fridge. I think if the water is too hot that, as with breast milk, the food can loose some of its nutrients. Thanks for watching!

  • @deeplydeepali
    @deeplydeepali 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello, I have a question... I want to make my own baby food, and I've been told that you can add breast milk. Can I add defrosted bm to pre-puree food, and then freeze finished puree? I ask because I thought that once breast milk is defrosted, you can't freeze it again.

      💕Presouz💕 great question!! Get a blender or nutribullet and buy veggies from the store and purée them up with breast milk or formula until they’re basically soupy and it works great! You can make a weeks worth of food in 30 minutes. Bonus points if you grow the food in your own garden! Hope it goes well

      You should definitely check with your doctor, but a lot of doctors say they don't HAVE to start eating solids until 6 months. Also, I would just take your baby's cues, and just make sure they are getting lots of breast milk or formula - that's where they get most of their nutrition for the first year.

      I just started my baby today on solids. Her pediatrician told me to use Gerber and only get her rice because she needs the iron in it. She refused to eat it so I blended up some fresh peas and put a small spoon full in with the rice. This was a suggestion my pediatrician gave me. She loved it and I play to keep doing this for the next few days to be sure she has no allergies to the rice or peas. My pediatrician also said fruits are the last thing you want to introduce a baby to. Get them started of vegis first other wise they will not want the vegis because they will want the sweetness of the fruit instead.

      I perfer making homemade. you can make a good amount and store the rest with the fraction of the price you would pay buying jars and pouches. And preparation is easy. Peel, chop, steam and smush. and thats it. One veggie or fruit makes multiple servings.

    • @darussianping61
      @darussianping61 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Dramia Chalmers home made is better girl dont believe for 1 second that jar is fresher or healthier than freshly prepared at home. you know what goes in your baby foid but jar is actually pumped with stuff to keep long shelf life. its like comparing frozen ready meals And we all know how thees are bad for us. its just lazyiness when people want to use jars. but eatch to their own.
