I have been using the Pixel 8 for a couple of weeks now in the US. It has a few drawbacks, like it gets warm quite quickly, fingerprint scanner isn't great, UI could be more stable. But the fact that you can get it for $550 and still have iPhone like picture quality, which is $800+, makes this a great buy.
I am using P8 in Bangalore and since it's release I've seen improvements in 5G connectivity and less number of connectivity issues. I am using an Airtel sim only. After this recent December update, I am getting good 5G connection at almost all places which was not the case before. So yeah substantial improvement specific for 5G connectivity.
@@sornasundaram8217 If you're a pixel UI lover then only go for it. It's because all the AI features which are there in P8 series are cloud based. Recent S24 series and other phones with SD8 Gen 3 have on device AI. So, better to go with Samsung if you want a phone with a beast battery. I personally love the Pixel experience, that's why anyday I would go for this one only. PS: This phone comes with 7 years of Software updates which means it has a potential to perform much better and till now, Google is also delivering it. So I still hope this device to compete with Apple and Samsung's big dogs.
Hey Rohit. This video couldn't have come at a more perfect time for me. Was thinking about the pixel 8, literally saw you posted this video half an hour before. Awesome video as always. Currently making my mind up for my next phone. Currently on an iPhone 13, and am looking at either switching to the Pixel 8 and try android again or the iPhone 15 Pro (not the regular 15 because I'd like usb 3.0, AOD, and 120hz). I was wondering how you're experience with the iPhone 15 Pro (if you are still daily-ing the phone alongside an android phone) is going alongside your Pixel 8. Any thoughts or recommendations on which one you prefer if you had to choose one to use?
iPhone 15 pro is nearly a perfect phone. I have no complaints from the phone this year (except for the price). If I have the money I’ll pick iPhone 15 Pro. It is more reliable and stable.
Hi rohit i am confused between edge 50 pro, S23FE and pixel 8 in BBD sale. My priorities are camera, display, software experience, good connectivity and prefer not too much heat, or phone leg. I am moderate user, using currently s20fe. Please suggest.
I lovee my pixel 8.. No complaints... Absolutely brilliant all rounder... The cameras anyday make this a better deal than any other phone in its price category... 👍
I found 2 main problems in Google's - Pixel 8. First is lowest Screen Refresh Rate & Second is worst camera resolution as compared to the pro series smart phones in Google or competitor ones. I would suggest don't go for buying Google Pixel 8 phones as i have spent & experiencing the problems.
After the december update pixel 8 that I have is really good running smooth good cellular signal connectivity and more it's feels smooth to use than before.
I have asked someone from my family to buy this phone from the USA for me, so I actually got it at a great price in the black Friday deals, however, she will be back in January, and I'm very excited to get my hands on it and these reviews have helped temper my expectations. I used to own the Pixel 3 xl and even now when I look back at the photos I took with it I'm impressed by how good they looked, that's still the main reason to get a pixel phone in my opinion, I only hope I get decent battery life, and I'll be set
Getting SOT of 8hrs+ daily in wifi use for my Pixel 8. Had heating issues when used camera for almost 30mins. Also gets hot while charging. But hey, I never got this phone for gaming. My requirement was a stock android and a small phone in todays world where phones are literal bricks. Pixel 8 is a great phone for me. Only 1 problem which isnt much of a problem but optical fingerprint was not necessary for such a costly phone. Its fine overall. Cool phone and great camera if all you want is a small phone in todays world.
Have the Black Pixel 7 Pro. Absolutely love this phone. Ngl my S22 Ultra destroys it in every aspect imaginable, but it is the Software and the looks [Burgundy S22U is beautiful as well] that wins me over every time. I live in Gurgaon, and have Airtel SIMs for both my phones. 5G issues on Pixels is a real thing. Miss a lot of calls, call quality is mid, and even in my own room, my Pixel can miss a call or two, and I have to step out in the balcony to take calls, whilst my S22U receives and can make crystal-clear calls from anywhere. Was thinking of getting the 8 Pro, but if that phone is riddled with similar issues, why would I splurge so much money, more so given the insane price hike. Hope the review for that phone is also coming.
You will face it in some beta versions as well. It comes and goes with every update. As of now beta is quite stable but you never know what will happen with the next beta. And you won't be able to roll back until march without formatting. So make sure you think about that.
Thanks for your review. I always love the stock android experience and I like small phones like you. I currently own an iphone 12, I have been thinking of upgrading to either iphone 15 or pixel 8. I also checked out the nothing phone 2, moto edge 50 pro, only problem with them is a 6.7 inch screen which I dont like. Its bad that all the phones do not get launched in India. Anyways I think I will have to wait for a price drop for iphone 15 or may be wait for the next iphone SE or pixel 8a if google fixes it. Any suggestions?

I bought a Google pixel 8 with in 2-3 weeks. I observed that there is a scratch below the display panel. However, the phone is not been dropped anytime or there is no physical damage or mishanding. I was surprised to see this scratch when I took it for the service center to get it checked and the worst service center in India - Bangalore which they denied saying that it's physically damaged. Surprisingly, how can someone go below the display and damage it and it's not a crack? It's a scratch which is visible only when the displays off and viewed from a particular angle. I tried explaining them and even to the Google support team which do not have physical access to the phone, they were just sticking to physically damage term, Surprisingly they are also depended on the local third party vendor who has taken the Google phone service, I am totally disappointed please don't buy google phone until they have proper service setup in Indian. Hey Rohit! I just wanted to ask you, the US version of the phone seems to be getting much more positive reviews compared to the Indian variant. If we buy the US unit and use it in India, do you think some of these problems like network / heating issues will be mitigated considering it’s got Wi-Fi 7 etc?
I confirmed with Google's customer service and they said all units are manufactured in same unit and you can avail warranty only in the country of purchase
Your viewpoints are heavily centralized within your region specific reasonings, the value is still good else where around the world and it still offers for the most part better value and experience compared to its rivals be it the S23 or iPhone 15, not to mention both the QPR1 stable and ongoing QPR 2 builds are doing wonders to these models, only to get even better.
Isn't that true for everything. When someone from the US reviews this phone, it will be the best value phone for them with no issues. They can't review based on my region and I am not complaining. And it's not great value around the world just some specific parts of the world.
Which is a good thing isn't it? Very surprised seeing youtubers from US / others praise pixel 8 so much. I love MKBHD's video but for the first time I was disappointed that he gave pixel 8 the best phone of the year. I don't blame him because he wouldn't be aware about what's going on outside the US. Rohit presented a fair view and clearly presented the problems that could come for Indian users.

Hey there! I know it's a bit random, but do you like using different launchers and icon packs on your phone? If not, what's the reason behind keeping it simple?
Really loved the review.. straight and honest.. I need honest and detailed opinion on the pixel8 and thanks to you, I got your review.. I need good camera quality and I play more arcade type games which are like 50-100MB data consuming apps.. Use more for surfing and social media apps like insta..I also checked s21 ultra, but looks it has heating issue compared to pixel8.. I am thinking to go with Pixel8 after your review.. please correct me if am doing a mistake.. :)
Hi Rohit, Could you recommend one among this?. I know these are not comparable since they belong to slightly different segments and price points. 1. iPhone 15 pro. (reasons, Never experienced an iphone, compact size). 2. galaxy s24 plus. ( QHD display, looks, doesnt feel bulky despite the size) 3. pixel 8. ( Overall reviews look good, compact size). Highly confused. Also, is exynos ( s24+) a deal breaker for basic things like browsing, youtube and kindle?
Don't buy pixels in India unless it's your secondary device. You can deal with heating issues for once but network reception is pathetic you can not travel with pixel anywhere it'll lose the network as soon as you'll move out of cities. Experienced it with both 6 and 8 series nothing has improved, better to go with apple or samsung
I bought one 2 days ago. I live in Belgium you can't even get Gemini here on your phone thanks to EU privacy laws. Well you can get it if you pay for it and it's not cheap.
It's sad that Google just can't make a well-rounded phone that can be wholeheartedly recommended. If the processor has so many issues, what's the value of 7 years of software updates, and that too when many of the software features are locked by region? This still makes Samsung's base S series the default recommendation if you want a compact and powerful phone.
For normal usage of everyday social media browsing, watching content on YT and ott apps and calling features is this phone a good buy in Feb 2024 if I'm getting it under 50k ? Also it supports 30W Fast Charging if I'm not wrong. So from where can we get the original adaptor for this phone? Currently I am oneplus 9R user and after 2.5 years I am still getting screentime of 4-5hrs, can I expect the performance of tensor G3 Chip on par with oneplus?
This phone does have network issues so you might see some call drops. You don't need official charger just get any pd charger that supports over 30w charging. And the performance is good but on mobile data it can eat battery faster than other phones.
Tensor G3 or G1 all have heating issues this is just exenos processor done by Samsung and Iam using pixel 6a and could you suggest to upgrade pixel 7 as it's cheaper now bro or pixel 8 or nothing phone 2? worth upgrade pals suggest bro😊
Got s23 on your recommendation and honestly have got zero regrets...though i do feel that that updates are making it sluggish, not sure if its just me. Coz the phone gets slow whether you update it or not:/
i been looking for buying pixel after 3xl nd 2xl but processer is big deal for me as had very bad experience with exynos note line up nd then got the test of onepluse still miss the pixel's camera and ui a lot
If i have to rely on a phone for nxt five years with decent camera, performance, battery and software under midrange, which should i choose. I've Motorola in mind!
What is the logic behind call screening not being available? Is it tied to the indian models only or to our carriers? For example, if i get a pixel from the US and use it in India, would i get the call screen feature?
@@_arorarohit_ If this is the case. If I bought a P8 Pro in India and had reason to move to the US, do you think the call screening and other region locked features become available there?

I'm not a Heavy gamer but not a casual gamer too i play bgmi for about 1-1.5 hours a day and Other than it I don't care about the extreme performance as it's the Pixel's software which is buttery smooth in day to day tasks. Turn off the wifi scanning.. Also keep background refresh only for necessary apps... And notifications as well... Mine lasts 2 days sometimes... I can have 45-47% charge and it'll still get through the day...
Iphone > videos & portrait photos pixel > overall pictures but there is a amount of user preference in it, since iphones produce a warmer tone on photos while pixel do a colder/ more neutral tone. with pixel have technically better quality if u count pixels to sharpness on photography but iirc only the pro with the 50mp mode on all back lenses & if you dont apk rip the pro_camera app

@@darshdaney yes bro. Now I'm using P8.
Used an iPhone XR for almost 6 years now I am planning to buy a phone . Iam looking for a good display , day to day social media performance with out any lag , good camera and sometimes normal gaming . Shall I go for pixel 8 or iPhone 15 .
It is hard to recommend pixel. It has alot of issues and poor service.
I Need help please i have a pixel 7a but i can't riproduce Vocal messages of whatsapp with the screen blocked how i can resolve??
Hey there! I know it's a bit random, but do you like using different launchers and icon packs on your phone? If not, what's the reason behind keeping it simple?
I am old now. I don't customise my phone anymore. I also prefer stock launchers as they are more fluid.
I avoid using 3rd party launchers as it doesn't support gesture controls and it kills the animation
Pixel 8 or Xiaomi 14? Thanks
HI Rohit. What matte skin did you use? Looks good :)
got something from local market.
Pixel 8 is better
Hi Rohit, Could you recommend one among this?. I know these are not comparable since they belong to slightly different segments and price points. 1. iPhone 15 pro. (reasons, Never experienced an iphone, compact size). 2. galaxy s24 plus. ( QHD display, looks, doesnt feel bulky despite the size) 3. pixel 8. ( Overall reviews look good, compact size). Highly confused. Also, is exynos ( s24+) a deal breaker for basic things like browsing, youtube and kindle?
15 Pro > S24 Plus > Pixel 8
Exynos 2400 is showing some promise. But still wait before deciding.
I'm getting it for 49k rs after discounts. Should I go for it??
Sir I'm confused 🤔 which one to buy Pixel 8 or S23 i need a android compact flagship so, what's your opinion regarding this?
For cameras, haptics and better software experience - pixel 8
For everything else - S23
I bought one 2 days ago. I live in Belgium you can't even get Gemini here on your phone thanks to EU privacy laws. Well you can get it if you pay for it and it's not cheap.
As they say a great hardware can compensate for subpar software but a great software can only go so far without good hardware
They can and they have. People just want to complain on TH-cam because anything "ant i- iPhone" will get clicks and views.
@@anthonywilliams9415 bro this channel is legit.
I have pixel 6 pro no issues with processor. Only some things to improve on camera
Hi, I have just bought my Pixel 8. Can anyone suggest some good chargers for it? It would be helpful.
You got the amazing voice 😊😊😊 Pixel is pixel love it 😍😍
Tensor G3 or G1 all have heating issues this is just exenos processor done by Samsung and Iam using pixel 6a and could you suggest to upgrade pixel 7 as it's cheaper now bro or pixel 8 or nothing phone 2? worth upgrade pals suggest bro😊
Pixel 8 is definitely better than 7. If you are okay spending that much get pixel 8
The selfie looks out of focus on the Pixel 8. In 3rd party apps like Snapchat it looks really bad.
Got s23 on your recommendation and honestly have got zero regrets...though i do feel that that updates are making it sluggish, not sure if its just me. Coz the phone gets slow whether you update it or not:/
its not just you
@@_arorarohit_ and if we don't update it feels even more slow XD...but nonetheless, just for the sake of hardware and experience..it's awesome.
Any overheating issues?
i been looking for buying pixel after 3xl nd 2xl but processer is big deal for me as had very bad experience with exynos note line up nd then got the test of onepluse still miss the pixel's camera and ui a lot
thanks bro for this review. now i am sticking to ios .
If i have to rely on a phone for nxt five years with decent camera, performance, battery and software under midrange, which should i choose. I've Motorola in mind!
motorola should be your last choice . Samsung/Apple should be your best bet then pixel/OnePlus.
Pixel 7 pro or Pixel 8 on the same price in bbd sale, pls reply
@@techbro3085 It comes down to that telephoto and size. I would choose Pixel 8.
Hi Bro
i need suggestion on which one to buy Pixel 7 Pro or Pixel 8 ?
In india both are same price(year end offer time)
If size is not a problem and you want telephoto lens then pixel 7 pro otherwise 8.

Okay,
i am using Jio sim if i change it as e-sim will there be network issue ?
in my area, airtel network is poor
@@RagulSA-j8s It is hard to tell. For some people jio works better. So whichever network is better in your area should work better.
I never had any heating issues with my Pixel 8. Must be that I live in Australia and the weather is not that hot?😇
lucky you

What is the logic behind call screening not being available? Is it tied to the indian models only or to our carriers? For example, if i get a pixel from the US and use it in India, would i get the call screen feature?
No you won’t. It’s tied to region.
@@_arorarohit_ If this is the case. If I bought a P8 Pro in India and had reason to move to the US, do you think the call screening and other region locked features become available there?
Ideally it should. Even if it doesn't you can flash the US software version.
I use my phone only for social media and calls. Can I go for Pixel. Is call quality that bad on this?
I have seen people complaining about call drops. I mostly do whatsapp calls so I don't face these issues.
Hi Rohit, your reviews for the Moto Razr 40 ultra? Will appreciate your honest feedback.
I tried it, I found it too tall and the cameras were weak for the price. I just didn't think it was worth it.
@@_arorarohit_ Thanks buddy :)
Which is best for buying Samsung S 23 or Pixel 8
S23 is an overall balanced phone
Would you consider this phone an upgrade to the s21?
yes
Hey Rohit
I want to buy the Pixel 8 .
I'm not a Heavy gamer but not a casual gamer too i play bgmi for about 1-1.5 hours a day and Other than it I don't care about the extreme performance as it's the Pixel's software which is buttery smooth in day to day tasks.
My Priorities are cameras specifically photography, Good software experience with long software support and good speakers with great Haptics.
I'm a Student and can't afford this at this price.
Will Pixel 8 be available for about 45k after all bank offers in BBD this year ??
As my friend bought the Pixel 7 in 36-37k ( with bank offer) in Last year BBD initially pixel 7 was launched for 60k .
If you read my comment till here thanks man.
I doubt it will come to 45k. I would suggest going to S23 you might get a good deal and can get around 48k with student discount from Samsung.
@@_arorarohit_ okay thanks 👍
If pixel move away from that stupid Samsung chip architecture...they will be the best
How is pixel 7 for 40k?
Hi Rohit, Cheers for your pixel buy. I also own a pixel 8. I am running on the latest software update but still for SOT is around 4.45hrs on 5G and 5.30hrs on wifi with most of the features OFF including AOD. Can you please share the build number you are on now? Thanks
I am on beta
Oh right. Thanks I am looking forward to the GM version.
Turn off the wifi scanning.. Also keep background refresh only for necessary apps... And notifications as well... Mine lasts 2 days sometimes... I can have 45-47% charge and it'll still get through the day...
Pixel 8 vs iPhone 15
Which one is better for photography?
both have their advantages. I have compared them.
Iphone > videos & portrait photos
pixel > overall pictures
but there is a amount of user preference in it, since iphones produce a warmer tone on photos while pixel do a colder/ more neutral tone. with pixel have technically better quality if u count pixels to sharpness on photography but iirc only the pro with the 50mp mode on all back lenses & if you dont apk rip the pro_camera app
Can I signup for pixel beta software, can it cause any major issues?.
Not really but if you want to move back to stable you will lose your data
Either Apple or pixel there is no other choice
IPhone 15 vs pixel 8 which is better camera overall?
already compared them, you can check that video.
How do you see it now with big billion days sale and pricing at 40K?
are you thinking to take it?
@@maybe_harshh yes
@@avinashpankhade8644 what about the network issues that are said in reviews I badly want this device
How can it be one of the cheapest flagship phones without any optical zoom camera? 1:44
Rohit sir, please make the software matters part 3 with the pixel 8....
Who is better in the battery Pixel 8 or Samsung 23❤
S23 overall as on mobile data it performs better and on wifi you can expect similar results.
Hi rohit i want a good camera phone for photos very confused between s23 nd pixel 8 considering value for money since there's is difference of rs 15000
Pixel 8 is better for photos
Is it still having network issues, especially Jio 5G connectivity issues?
yes
Sad...@@_arorarohit_
I just want to buy a new 13 mini
The best small size phone
With the S24 in the corner, of course Tensor chip is not worth it at all now.
Nice review, I am holding a pixel 4 days old, facing network issues with jio sim, Airtel ok ok...Jio sim I am using other mobile working fine and in pixel no signal and mobile keeps reboot.. what to do
to be honest you can't do anything. network is bad on Pixel. So use whatever works for you. In my case Airtel works better and Vodafone.
@@_arorarohit_ 🙏 thank you
The problem its the battery
Is Pixel 7 at ~38k a much better value for money?
it has the same issues but otherwise it is a good value
Is there call recording on Pixel in India?
No
Thanks mate .is it worth for 56k in indian money ?
it is not, it will heat up on 5g very easily and the network reception is not good.
I returned my pixel 8 after 1 day.
It overheared, it would not install 5 of my apps that i use daily, it was far to slippy (nearly dropped it twice) and it was barely smaller than my pixel 4A 5G. Basically, i was not that impressed so I will wait for better phone.
Overheated 😂
Hii can we return pixel in flipkart?
Joke .. Don't buy flagships if you don't understand how they work..!
This phone cannot perform basic thing like 5G network then what’s the point of even discussion..google should kick out inefficient ppl ..
I never get any heating issues at all have my p8 pro since release
Could u tell me pixel 8 pro it's good for vloggers ?
The issue you can face with 8 pro is heating while recording for a long time. Samsung or an iPhone will be a better choice. iPhone will be the best if you are fine with iOS
