    Yes examples on the board are a good way to show how a character is supposed to be used. Just reading what the character's abilities and stats are doesn't always explain how useful the character is. I did not know how the weak rats were supposed to be used for blocking the opponent's characters from moving towards your ranged characters.

      Basically Heroscape figures are separated in 8 categories:
      Bread and Butter (ex: Marro Drones, Romans Legionnaries, Marro Stingers): Your main common squad attacking force, they are cheap, and as you took a big numbers of squads, they will ensure you that you have max activations per turn, and hance you are sure to roll a decent nuber of attack dices every turn. You will place a big majority of your orders markers on them.
      Bonding hero (ex: Grimnak) A hero that you will never put order markers on, but you will activate a lot throught bonding both for combat and/or aura purpose.
      Shooters (ex: Q9, Nilfheim, Krav-Maga agents), high firepower figures with range, usually requires a lot of order markers to be effective so they are better paired with blockers than with "bread and butter" squads.
      Blockers (ex: rats, gladiatrons) Figures used to block opponent from getting to your key figures, blockers have the avantage to be effective while not using a lot of order markers.
      Aura (ex: Raelin) A passive figure you just place around your army to give you a bonus, same as blockers they do not need orders markers which is their main strengh.
      Sharks (ex: Cyprien, Sgt. Drake V2, Fen Hydra) Assassins or very high-firepower units used to take down opposing key unit (usually shooter or aura figure). Usually countered by blockers.
      Tool (ex: Sonya) Units who just sits in your startzone just to give a passive bonus to your army.
      Clean'up (ex: Isamu) Units you take to "fill your points", you let them in the strartzone until the endgame when they can clutch a victory if the game is close.
      Main mistake beginners do when building an army is they take too many different "OM dependant" figures (bread and butter, shark and shooter categories) you need to take only 2 or at the very maximum 3 of those units or your OM management will be very difficult and your opponnent will take advantage of that. Only very experienced players can play an army with like 4 cards who takes OMs vs an "all OMs on one card" army, without getting destroyed, OM management is by far the most difficult part in Heroscape so you want to reduce the hassle of that to the maximum, especially when you are a beginner.

    Is there a list of figures with adjusted point values? For example when I play Raelin is op so we adjust her to 100 (still op lol) but is there a more official balancing of cards anywhere? Thanks love the vids!

      @SirHeroscape  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There's nothing official that I know of...but there is a group that has tried to "balance" less viable units. The group is called the Competitive Unit Congress (CUC). They can be found here: www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?t=27657 and the download file for their changes can be found here: www.heroscapers.com/community/downloads.php?do=file&id=3198
      Hope that helps

    When you roll for stinger drain and get it, the card says add 1 to the attack value. Does that mean the attack stays higher for the whole game?

    • @SirHeroscape
      @SirHeroscape  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope. Just +1 attack for that turn
