Half the fun of doing this type of work is the discovery process as far as whats wrong and how to fix things. If we were all motorcycle genius mechanics, life would be kinda boring. Rock-on TGR!

Absolutely and can agree! If we were all wiz technicians, there would be no need for us 😁

Had the same bike, last oversize on the piston + basically no compression + only moved in first and second gear. Your best bet will be to find a spare motor and make a good one out of the two chasing individual gears and shafts will likely cost you a small fortune in time and money unfortunately. Good luck with the project mate, still definitely worth saving👍🏼

Howdy! Thank you for the insight. I would hate to see this classic go to the scrap yard. There has been some serious parts hunting going on thanks to the TGR Team and a new engine and gearbox is certainly on the table but results from the hunt is showing promise!

What did we learn here? Nothing

From the video, here is what we learned.
First, we learned that the paint on the motorcycle was not originally yellow but a sparkling silver. Then, once the motorcycle was brought into The Garage, we learned that the Kickstart shaft was not broken, but the output shaft was. Last but not least, we learned that the engine was not sized and had compression. Through diagnosis of the root problem (no engine rotation via kickstarter), we learned what the problem was and the steps needed for repair. A follow-up repair video will be up to show the next step in our restoration process.
Thank you for watching and for commenting your thoughts.

What I mean by that it maybe better prepared as to identifying what is really the issue at hand to resolve what parts need be ordered and the know how as to what is the plan to make the necessary repairs to get the bike repaired. I trust that you will get near future videos in better preparation before presenting the videos to your audience. Thank you for receiving my constructive criticism which is not to bring you down but indeed to get you at a higher greater level that you are able to reach. God has given you all the potential to achieve all you set your mind to get in all goodness. 👍

@user-ol5zr3pb9n Hello, this video was recorded in a way to bring you the viewer(s) along for the ride, giving a first-person point of view of the diagnosis part of an overall repair. The knowledge gained from the processes, as seen in this video, was done together. Both host and viewer(s) of this video diagnosed the problem and came up with a solution (part replacement). A walkthrough video of the replacement process will be posted.
      Thank you for your feedback,
      - The Garage R&R Team.
