ThankyouThankyouThankyou, for posting this! New to quadcopters and loving it, I quickly discovered that many experienced flyers find this Tx one of the most confusing. I pretty much can just turn it on, change flight mode (Walker Ladybird and Walkera Infra X) and struggle with indoor flight. I am so excited to find this! Now I am off to your Part 2 and then it's study/fun time!
Yeah this one is counter intuitive, though it's packed full of features once you can get past the craziness of it, took me quite a bit to figure it out too... The weather is getting better so i'm busting out my helicopters again and having a great time with them :) Happy flying!!
you'll have to go under the menu, Function, Ptcrv (pitch curve), then Mode Thhld (throttle hold), and set your curve line at 50% all the way across for it to make the blades flat. However i found that setting the pitch curve under throttle hold the same as you have it when you fly (so, same exact pitch curve under both modes) worked the best for me. That way the helicopter didn't do any crazy things in the air if i hit throttle hold and i could still control it normally.
Hi, glad you got some use out of it. I also made a part 2 with this transmitter and covered the timer in that one. If you go to 23 minutes into the "part 2" you should be able to find it. TH-cam won't let me post the link in here but you should be able to find it on my channel by clicking on my name and searching my vids.
Could you possibly tell me how to bind my Devo seven to the CX 33S I bought the drone and it came with a messed up battery and I haven’t flown it as of yet I don’t know whether it’s the transmitter or the drone itself so I bought aDevo seven Weyland in hopes to put a fix on the matter shouldn’t happen again with other drones I bought the Devo seven used and I haven’t used it and it’s been three months as of yet
Hi! I'm a beginner build quadcopter, I use arduino uno R3 and MPU GY-521. I use multiwi 2.4 to upload to arduino board, before I upload its code, I have edit as the instruction of multiwi. After that I run the TX devo7 with multiwiconfig. I saw that Throttle, rudder, aileron, elevator all fine on multiwiconfig test, but when i want to fly, I on the Tx and put the battery on quad that sound beep-beep-beep.... it shows that all motor already to spin, and i set the"arm", stick the throttle down-right side and elevator down at the same time. I try to stick the throttle up slowly, the 4 motors no spin. Could you explain me how to solve it, sir!
I would suggest first go through part 1 and part 2 of the tx setup and make sure you're tx is set up similar. Since it is a different heli, you may need to reverse some of your channels though. Then make sure you have the "training gear" on the bottom of the heli and spend at least a few batteries just scooting slowly on the floor before you get any air. Are you using a mode 2 controller? Is there anything particular you are having problems with?
I got this helicopter from a friend is there anyway to reset to factory end does the transmitter have to be contacted to the helicopter to set the transmitter
Thanks! I ended up returning it. After turnng it on and off non stop for two days I noticed one of the servos crapped. I tried everything I believe the reciever was burnt out from the high draw from yhe brushless motor? But it was new so?
Hi, I Just purchased the Walkera Devo 7 transmitter to use with some drones I’ll be building; still new to all this. In CleanFlight I was able to set the ARM mode to the GEAR switch on my Walkera Devo 7, but I am UNABLE to set any of other switches on the Devo 7 to any other mode like ANGLE or HORIZON. None of the switches on my Walkera Devo 7 respond in CleanFlight, seems like there are not activated. Is there some setting in the Walkera Devo 7 transmitter that I have to change in order to “free up” one of these switches in order so I can assign it one of the modes in CleanFlight? Appreciate all and any help!
I need help I bind my radio to my rx701 for my APM 2.6 quadcopter build but the only problem I'm having is when I push the stick forward but the quad go backward same thing to the other stick where do I go to fix this problem? Thank
Hi could you tell me how to set the servo travel distance for the throttle please? (servo is at its full travel when the throttle stick is only half way up)
Hi. I have a new goggle 4 and I need to bind it whit my devo but how do you know what changer is the transmitter is using . If you have a video showing it I need help. Thanks for your help
hi if I put a model on this radio will it over write a existing model I have a master cp and wont to put it on my v450do3 radio but I am worried it might wipe out the v450do3 setup thanks for your help dean
Just bought a master cp w/ devo 7 and everything works except blades main and tail wont spin. Like its not getting power... Any ideas? Im stumped its brand new.
Hi, my best idea is that maybe you have either your throttle hold on (it's possible that it can be activated on a number of switches), or your throttle curve is set to 0 across the board, giving you no throttle. On part 2 of this video, at 9min 45sec, and at 10min 50sec, I talked about throttle hold and throttle curves, so start there I would suggest. Another possibility is that your battery doesn't have enough power, i know that sounds simple enough, but make sure it's all the way charged.... cause that can also cause the symptoms you are describing. Let me know how it goes. And if you aren't familiar with 6ch helis, go easy at first, i learned that the hard way ;)
I need help please! I just got my walkera mini cp.. and when I hover, it tilts right away and falls.. it does not go up, but it drifts very strongly to the left.. how do I fix this?
Hi, if you set up everything the way I had it in the transmitter, it could be a problem with your mechanical setup. Check that your swash plate is level when you are in a neutral mode (just sitting still with the power on). The swashplate is the little thing that your blades are connected to, and you might have to change some of these links. If you are not sure what a swashplate is, there should be plenty of videos out there on this. It should remain level with the ground throughout the whole range of pitch.
dilbertoheli Thanks for your reply.. I actually have another problem now! I reset all the models, and now I can't bind the TX to the RX.. I have tried all kind of things, but nothing seems to work.. I noticed my package came with something called "Bind Plug" and I saw a video here saying this is used to remove any previous setups. How do I use it? Do I connect it to the battery plug coming out from the heli? I really appreciate your time
when i hit the throttle hold switch on my devo 7, the blades turn to sharp down position. i would like for them to go level. do you know how to achieve this ?
Hello, Randy. I received my V450d03 with Devo 7 five days ago, and I’m still trying to bind or connect both !! Could you help me, please ??? Could you send me a video explaining how to do it ?? Thank you !!!
I need help with my Devo 7 setting it up through the trainer port for head tracking with my FPV goggles. I have the round plug that fits in the trailer port but it has three poles on it not two. Do I have to buy an adapter the switches from stereo to mono or vice versa?
+Dale Bergeron I never got an answer so once I figured it out and made my own video check out my TH-cam channel. not sure exactly what the name of the video is but if you go to my video uploads and scroll down you will see one explaining how to hook up to Devo 7 for fpv with head tracking
You will need to look into the settings for Mixing, and there you should be able to combine two channels to different degrees. Sorry I can't tell you exactly, I've never messed with that because I usually just let my fingers do the mixing for me. But hopefully that will help point you in the right direction.
can some body tell me how to conect the reciver to the qrx350,or a link of a video that explain it, when i turn it on left light on the drone does not stop blinking, im desperate pleaase Help i will do anything im ready to break it in half,in the name of jesus christ this is an SOS
hi there,,hope you can help my frustration please… i watched your video but i still have some doubts , i have a master cp ands seems that my devo 7 setting are not right ,, i have tried to put them all good but still the heli does not take off smoothly and crashes all the time i have spend a lot of money trying to fly for first time and i cant…. i have experiance flying 4 channels want to upgrade a 6 channels but its been just so hard ,,, i have seem videos where the heli takes off very nice and smoth ,, i am not sure if the option 3d is on or off,,, its suppust to be off but now i am just so confuse ,,, what shuold i do with the devo,?, what setting your can suggest me to put just to fly in a normal way,, no 3d fly just normal fly i can not even do that,, its just a pain.. thanks for your videos … i keep watching them over and over,,, to see if i can find the problem,,, well i will really thank you if you could give me some help regards javier
hey, i can understand your frustration, it took me quite a while when i went to 6ch also. From what you describe, it sounds like you may need to increase the gyro compensation on your actual helicopter. Most of the settings that I had on the video could also be used for somewhat smooth flight. However, on the actual helicopter itself, there is a flybarless system, and it should have a little knob on it so that you can adjust how sensitive the gyros are. Try turning that up a little (not too much though, or you will get some bobbing in your helicopter). In general though, 6ch helis are a lot harder to take off than 4ch. If you have vibration in your helicopter from a bent shaft, etc, that will also make it much more difficult.

What is the max range of the devo 7? People recommend me to sale it. They say it is not good enough for fpv.... What range do you get?
pitch is actually the right stick up and down (elevator). you were calling the throttle your pitch, but otherwise this is a very helpful video
Also does d evo 7E also fly all the walkera cp heli's? thanx
