a great radio if you use the model editor from walkera-fans germany (search devo7 modell editor). The editor is in english an you can set up all your models on PC. You then need the UP02 to save your settings on the radio.
+watchanddiscover you can set up mixers, DR/Expo, Switches, Trimm, etc.. You will be amazed when you see in a graphical interface what the devo7 is able to. As an example you can set 4 different DR/Expo which is almost impossible without the GUI. It's free. Download the editor and see for yourself when you just play a little. If you like it, then buy the programming tool.

Basically as I see it the Devo 7 is just a cheap option Walkera is offering, equivalent to the WK-2603 Tx and is not meant to be of the standard of the Devo 8 or 2801Pro. Personally I'd always spend the extra and get the Devo 8 but I guess not everyone is in that position. As for functions the Devo 8 as far as I can see has nearly everything the Spektrum DX7 has but in terms of quality and reliability I think we have to wait and see, these are still too new to judge on that.

Im on a low budget right and looking at the devo 7 and devo 7e. Everybody seems to dislike the devo7 because of its programming which seems better in the devo 7e. Which one would you recommend, why? One thing I havn't been able to get an answer to as of yet is what kind of range can we expect from the Devention 7. I have a Walkera 2801 Pro that I was using for a Storm 450 collective pitch heli sold by Helipal. That was more than I could handle so I sold the heli but kept the radio. I am considering a Drone 6 GPS which a RTF hexacopter and is also sold by Helipal. It comes with the Devention 7 radio. My 2802 Pro is the 100mw version, not the 10mw version. I don't plan on using it for the hexacopter as I would never be able to set it up but can I expect similar range from the Devotion 7 as the 2801 Pro?

It looks like it and it comes with the Devo 7 I think. This will be my first CP, I have been flying 4 channel for a while now. +Denys Kryvo not that much compared to others, the antenna is crap, highly suggest upgrading your antenna, by modding it yourself of course, if youre on a budget, or get a better TX :)

@Atomicskull Is it not only the elevator/Aileron gyro that the program mix switch regulates.
Devo 7 works fine. Basically you setup a heli once. I can't imagine people using a Walkera TX on their whole fleet.

For the devo 7 is it ok to use a lipo 2200 mah 11.1V 8C battery. If not what please recommend. Tq
