To those who get Weak Signal or Transmitter Disconnected I've found a possible fix. When i was trying to connect my devo 7 i was using a stereo cable and that caused the transmitter to not recognize it. What i did is isolating one part of the stereo cable with some fine tape, so the transmitter could see it as a mono cable, no need to tape the other end of the cable that goes into pc. If you want to check if the cable/transmitter is working, go into the recording properties of your mic, enable boost, remove all noise filters and check "listen to this device" and hit apply. If you hear a continous distorted noise it means that your devo is not sending the right signal and the cable is probably faulty, if you hear instead a buzzing repeated sound it shuld work, GL All and thanks for the video.
For the Devo 7e (might work with other Devo) Model Menu > Model Setup: - Model name > "Freerider" - Model type > "Multi" - Protocol : "PPM" (press "R+" button to the end)
AWESOME...Thanks for sharing...Devo F12E works with SmartPropoPlus!!...NOTE: Use mono jack trainer port out the back NOT the mono jack at the bottom of Tx...
Thanks for your video. It worked for an Emax Nighthawk 280 Pro RTF transmitter using a 22-in-1 rc sim cable. I put my mic volume at 55 and hear no buzzing.
Thank you! Your explanation about Crystal Voice really helped to connect Devo 7 to my Creative SB Recon 3D. Before disabling Crystal Voice it didnt work.
Alright After many try this is what I ended up doing. First you need to launch the devo after connecting it to the audio port. You should see a "PC" where "TH". If PC doesn't appear it will not work. Then once PC appears plug it in to the mic port and launch the software and don't forger to erase all noise effect.
On windows 7 press windows button and type "realtek HD" to the program search bar and hit enter. It opens up blue bordered window. Click the microphone icon on top of the window and uncheck noise reduction and the other option below it.
I found out this doesn't work on my iMac nor my daughters chromebook. Now I've got an older laptop running windows 7 and I keep getting something like "unable to calibrate joystick" when I try to calibrate.
For anyone whos wondering, I have gotten smartpropro to detect my devo f7 using a stereo 3.5mm cable. I thought it might work because the mono ends are there on stereo and mono cables and it works. I just havent gotten my aircraft off the ground in clearview but my radio iputs are working in the controller settings.
Hi John, I have the same problem as Carl and I notice you had it too in the video I mean, yaws left - 7:43 and rolls left 7:45 No mater how many times I calibrate it by Windows Game Controller and on mi simulator it doesn't help. Please, can you tell us how you solved the problem Thank you very much in advance!!
+Experimentar En Casa Hey bud sorry but I made this before the WIndows 10 rollout. It looks like it broke something in SPP. Google the SPP issue with windows 10 as their forums would be able to help you better than I can!
i have a problem with the dial .. it blinking all the time, so i cant use the transmitter in simulators , because axis 7 always configurated by himself ..
Oh yeah, got it working with windows 10 using Freerider. Good video. Yes you have to manually install the new version of vJoy for Windows 10. The xbox controller wasn't doing it for me anymore. Happy.... Does the Walkera upgrade cable allow you to backup and maybe edit your configs? Also while you are using your controller like this is it still transmitting?
+Sean Bittner Thanks for the heads up Sean! A bunch of people had issues getting this to work on Windows 10. As far as being able to backup your configs, I dont think you can. I dont know of a software that can download your model profiles to the PC to back up - at least not with this transmitter. And whether it is transmitting RC whilst plugged in is also something I'm interested in finding out!
+John Marchan Thanks for your comment. Do you have the upgrade cable for your Devo 7? Is that all it does for $20? I thought it also was a controller interface, glad I saw your video. By far (so far) the worst thing I find about Devo 7 is programming it with the buttons, how it's done is rotten and not at all intuitive. What if it's flash screwed up and you had 15 models you spent hours tuning in it? Why is it so hard to make a controller that allows you to program it by editing a text file something similar to a Windows .ini file and uploading it via usb? This would NOT be hard to build in, It's near 2016, good grief. I think you can email me via my youtube profile if you want to swap info, I sometimes luck out and discover things.
+Sean Bittner I dont think you can bud. I did some research (you can find a YT vid on it) but it looks like to do that, you would actually have to purchase the USB cable to backup and modify configurations in the controller. I can't see the mic cable working since that sends out analog data only.
+John Marchan Actually you can dump, modify and load configs. I did some digging around. You have to buy an 'upgrade cable' it's 8mm stereo to usb around $20. I don't know if that works as a native controller cable though but..... The Walkera software lets you dump and load configs. I found a website out of Germany called 'Walkera fans' or 'Walkera friends' or something close. A guy had posted to it an app he built to edit those config files. That website had the upgrade/backup and restore app posted as well as the most recent updates. They don't seem to be on Walkera's website. I have not tried any of this yet because I need to order that cable, uhg this radio should have a usb interface. Anyhoo, if you are interested let me know.
Good to know! I knew there was a USB cable alternative, but I didn't know someone built an app to help with backup and configs! I have passed down my Devo 7 to my brother ;P - Am now a Taranis jockey.
When I try to calibrate my devo 7 in the vjoy properties and also when I calibrate in the mr drone simulator the left throttle stick is very slightly to the left and the right sick is slight above center. Also cant fully go down or fully right with both sticks, only to about 80%. May someone please help me with this problem.
Did you have to change any settings on the devo 7 or do anything special to make it work? I've been folling along with your video but the status always says Transmitter disconnected and it does nothing.
Philip Borg Alright, here's what seemed to work for me. I'll assume you're using Windows. Right click your speaker icon in the right hand corner and go to "recording devices" The default was set to my headset microphone, I didn't realize that before. If you set your default to whatever input you plugged your controller into that should work. For me there was only one other option.
Oh so the game controller window is installed with SmartPropoPlus all as one app right? ..because I have the download it but I go search for game controller and no window pops up like yours... Is it not installed properly... So I'm just missing the game controller window app...
jggraphx No, the Game Controllers window is part of Windows so every PC has it (just do a search for it - press the Windows Key, and start typing in "game controller" and it should come up. It shows up as "Setup USB Game Controllers". Click and and you will see that screen. SmartPropoPlus is the app you use so that your transmitter shows up as a game controller so make sure you have it installed, otherwise you won't see your transmitter show up as a game controller on the Game Controllers window.
Thankyou so much! I tried it on a windows 10 laptop which has a combined mic\audio port and it didn't worked, but I solved everything with this little device: www.banggood.com/External-USB-2_0-for-3D-Virtual-Audio-Sound-Card-Adapter-Converter-5_1CH-p-1011122.html?rmmds=search I had no problem at all with the Vjoy, everything just worked at the first try. cheers
I'm trying to setup my devo 7 on a windows 8 and I think I do everything right, but when I open the app, on the Transmitter tab all the readings of the channels are constantly flashing and moving.... any ideas what might this be...? It happens with all the PPM settings, standard, Walkera...
Your sound card might have some kind of filtering or sound effect applied to the mic port (for sound clarity, boost volume, etc.) Those must be turned off or those signals will interfere and give you issues like you see now.
+daniel austin Daniel - do you have a dedicated mic port on the PC? (Some PC have a single port for both mic and audio, this won't work!) If you have a single mic port, the next thing to check is to see if your soundcard is adding any kind of effects or enhancements to mic-input audio. I know SoundBlaster soundcards do this by default and you have to find the options to turn that off otherwise it throws off the signals going into the PC. Try that and re-do the steps to calibrate your transmitter.
+John Marchan nope.... still nothing. I have 2 mic inputs. one on the front of my case and one on my mobo. both act the same. green bars move ok and red ones don't move at all.
daniel austin Daniel - try this link and read up on the discussion: www.smartpropoplus.com/site/index.php/forum/support/33-vjoy-inputs-not-working-red-bars?start=16 I made this video a while ago and your issue might be Windows 10 - OR you might need to upgrade SPP. Looks like folks are having issues with vJoy requiring new config files as they don't install correctly after updating to W10.
So I got to the Game Controllers part but then when I went to go calibrate it, It wouldn't recognize any movements.. I have a TH-9X (Turnigy) Thoughts?
+Ryan Jeffcoat you might have the wrong SmartPropoPlus version installed for your OS. Uninstall and try reinstalling the most updated one. If you can't see the Tx under Game Controllers, it is usually because SmartPropo was not configured properly. (OR your soundcard is applying effects to the mic-in)
Been 2 weeks and still can't get it to work! Controller keeps connecting and disconnecting and when trying to Vjoy it is completely random with no response to the controller I've tried using both USB splitter and audio jack splitter to isolate the microphone input as well as removed all audio effects on my laptop! (Using windows 10 on Asus laptop)
Okay, so I downloaded the programs, installed them, then hooked my Devo 7 to the pc by aux cord that came with it. Looked like it was working followed the steps. Went to liftoff and tried to calibrate and the controls were all over the place. Decided to hit the hay and try again this morning. Now when I plug the transmitter in I get a messege from smartpropo saying it has been disconnected? The status also remains disconnected? I see one green bar elevate every so often. it shows PC and throttle percentage on my devo screen and flashes back to f210 and then back to PC and throttle percentage in a loop. The option to calibrate in vjoy also has vanished. Ive trialed and errored everything I can think of so I thought id ask YALL! please help. Could it be an audio channel? when I used to plug in the devo 7 an audio channel select menu would pop up. Not knowing what to do with this annoyance at that time I disable it and cant seem to find those option anywhere on my pc. I have windows 10(preinstalled on this comp)
+J Leak you might have an audio card or its set to add processing effects to the mic port. You have to turn that off because the added effect changes the signal which then confuses the input. Look around your setting to see if there's any being added to your audio. I have a feeling that's your issue.
+J Leak check out this thread: smartpropoplus.sourceforge.net/site/index.php/forum/support/11-futaba-tx-disconnects-on-turn-on . There's a guy that had the same issue as you - try and see if his solution works for you.
+John Marchan unfortunately his solution was not mine. I appreciate the help and speedy responses! his connected for 2 seconds then dropped. My Devo 7 when plugged in is already disconnected according to SMartPropo, i think that made the difference. Again i appreciate the help!
J Leak ah man, sorry. I had to reread your comment. If you do get a popup from windows, try selecting Mic. Are you on a laptop? People are finding dual purpose ports (mic or headphones) are having issues. I know my desktop PC this trick works nicely,, but on my laptop with just 1 audio port the transmitter is unusable.
+Luke Campbell -Works on my iMac. Use USB connections. Sticks are reversed though. Need to configure in the DEVO 7 first then calibrate using the game's calibration tools. Was working perfect before I restarted then tried again a few days later and had to reset all calibrations in the game. That's when the throttle and yaw on the left got switched for some reason.
Most likely not - these signals depend on the analog inputs. You'll be better offjust buying the $2 USB cable that let you hook up the transmitter directly to your pC :)
Do you guys know if it will still work if I have a combined mic and audio in port, not two separate ports for each like normal pc's, dammit HP. I feel like its calibrating fine and then when I try to play in the simulator I just spin in circles and fly to the height cap. I tried disabling my laptop built in mic and the realtek sound card. If you guys could let me know what i'm doing wrong that would be awesome
John Marchan , I was on vacation for the 4th, I'll try that when I get done flying after work today! If it doesn't work I'll go ahead and order that cable. Just to make sure is the 3.5mm mono female to USB male? or should I just try and buy that but the walkera version that's made for this? Thank's for your help.
Nick Moore Thanks Nick! The reason I asked you to try was because there's a possibility it could work IF you can somehow disable the audio-out portion of the port. That cable needs a clean, unprocessed mic-only connection or the interface won't work correctly. For example, I use a Soundblaster sound card with a separate audio and mic port. However, the card 'enhances' my mic input to make my voice clearer but that changes the original mic signal and my controls were all wonky. For me, all I had to do was turn off the mic enhancements and I got mine to work. I would fiddle around with your settings first if I were you to see if it can be remedied before putting down some money on the USB cable. If not, then the cable you're looking for is the "UB-001" cable by walkera which you can pick up on hobby shops or on ebay. Good luck bud!
John Marchan hey man, I couldn't figure it out but I went ahead and bought a UP01 but I can't figure out how to connect it, if you could be of any help let me know.
jggraphx That 'controller' is a transmitter - specificaly the Walkera Devo 7. You can use this to fly RC aircraft models OR hook it up to the PC so you can practice worry-free using simulators like the one I used on my video :)
I did this, and worked fine. but now when i try to fly the walkera f210 it is causing trouble. when the trottle is at like 4% it is auto accelerate higher and higher to max on the throttle.until I move the trottle all down. then they stop spinning. also the diods in the rear sommetimes work and sometimes does not. And I also think the walkera answer slower to commands than before. the mix switch was also switch to the gear stick. what have happend? have the devo 7 been damaged because of this`? I have tried resseting the settings and so on but it did not fix the problem. I used a second extension audio cable. May that have damaged the devo 7?. Please anyone who can tell if you think the devo 7 is broken? or what may have happen to it. =(
+guuuuustaf I doubt this damaged your Devo 7 - maybe your Devo 7 had an issue already? Also, this might be caused by your sound card. For this to work properly, you have to make sure your sound card is not applying in audio processing effects or it will mess w/the input signal from the Devo to the PC.
+guuuuustaf -Did you also make a separate Flight file in the DEVO 7? Did you keep the supplied file that was included in the DEVO7 when you bought it(if it was RTF)? Which one were you using to fly in FreeRider? Curious because I've been training a bit before flying my F210 3D. I made a new file for gaming. Using this to train in FreeRider. Too expensive to practice on the real one.
ken pleil Ken, then you can't use this method, although are you sure there isn't a port? :) - the other option you have is to buy the USB version of this cable if you want to be able to use them w/a sim. You can find these cables on ebay. I believe they are the "UB-001" cable but I have not used them myself so please double check that they're the correct ones, although I'm almost sure that they are. Good luck bud, hope you get your sim working!

Blackout FPV how do I do the mic part
@@minonim8749 did u solved it
For the Devo 7e (might work with other Devo)

AWESOME...Thanks for sharing...Devo F12E works with SmartPropoPlus!!...NOTE: Use mono jack trainer port out the back NOT the mono jack at the bottom of Tx...
not working on mine. did you set soemthing different?
for some reason it does not recognize the Devo 7
Thanks for your video. It worked for an Emax Nighthawk 280 Pro RTF transmitter using a 22-in-1 rc sim cable. I put my mic volume at 55 and hear no buzzing.
Any way around having a combined mic/audio port?
Works with devo 7 and win 10 for me. Many thanks!
Yeup, no mic port, I never realized it until I needed it lol I found a usb on ebay for 15, from cali, thanks for the info dude!
Thank you! Your explanation about Crystal Voice really helped to connect Devo 7 to my Creative SB Recon 3D. Before disabling Crystal Voice it didnt work.
It works using Windows 10. Just need to update the vJoy with the latest one. Thank you very much! :)
+Sen Malones how do you do that¿
Just the follow the video and re-install the updated vjoy if not successful installed.
+Sen Malones PLS make how to video!
this system with audio cample (devo 7) working the lap top????
Alright After many try this is what I ended up doing. First you need to launch the devo after connecting it to the audio port. You should see a "PC" where "TH". If PC doesn't appear it will not work. Then once PC appears plug it in to the mic port and launch the software and don't forger to erase all noise effect.
This fixed my connection problem. Thank you!
REALTEK HD USERS: disable all microphone post processing. It messes up the signal.
+zaqwsx28 thanks for the heads up Zaq!
how do I do this?
On windows 7 press windows button and type "realtek HD" to the program search bar and hit enter. It opens up blue bordered window. Click the microphone icon on top of the window and uncheck noise reduction and the other option below it.
if you still have interference click default format and choose a higher quality.
I found out this doesn't work on my iMac nor my daughters chromebook. Now I've got an older laptop running windows 7 and I keep getting something like "unable to calibrate joystick" when I try to calibrate.

I only had to reload the model so I can confirm that if you have a spare 3.5mm stereo cable lying around this should work fine.
Awesome after 2 restarts it's working.
thank you so much forthis video. It helped me a lot!
hi man, im trying to get this to work but when i throttle up on my devo7 it yaws left all the time. do u have any clues on why? regards Carl
+Carl Fredriksson you might want to do your calibration both on the Windows Game Controller and on your simulator.

I know my desktop PC this trick works nicely,, but on my laptop with just 1 audio port the transmitter is unusable.
the transmitter must be switched on ? :D
yeah I understand that.. But the window game controller I don't have that..is that a download app
Yes. It's called SmartPropoPlus. You need that installed on the PC to use the transmitter as a controller.
mine says cannot feed position to vjoy device??
havng problem installing it on.win 10
hi john, is there a version or similar compatible for Mac??
no Luke, sorry. None that I know of. You might be better off using the actual USB cable if you have a sim in your Mac.
+Luke Campbell -Works on my iMac. Use USB connections. Sticks are reversed though. Need to configure in the DEVO 7 first then calibrate using the game's calibration tools. Was working perfect before I restarted then tried again a few days later and had to reset all calibrations in the game. That's when the throttle and yaw on the left got switched for some reason.
does devo7 have usb port? nope :)
Thank you
My laptop doesn’t have a microphone port alone, does any body know if a usb external sound card audio adapter would make my walkera devo 7 work
Most likely not - these signals depend on the analog inputs. You'll be better offjust buying the $2 USB cable that let you hook up the transmitter directly to your pC :)
Can anyone tell me why vjoy wouldn't recognize my devention 7 controller? I'm running windows 7
+David Rahming Set a new Model as PPM mode?
Do you guys know if it will still work if I have a combined mic and audio in port, not two separate ports for each like normal pc's, dammit HP. I feel like its calibrating fine and then when I try to play in the simulator I just spin in circles and fly to the height cap. I tried disabling my laptop built in mic and the realtek sound card. If you guys could let me know what i'm doing wrong that would be awesome
Probably not. On our FB group those with that setup couldn't get this to work correctly. I think your only choice is to go for the USB cables.
Actually, try disabling the headphone channel on the soundcard if you can. I don't think we tried it yet.
I don't have game controller what is that?.. and how do i get it ?
jggraphx That 'controller' is a transmitter - specificaly the Walkera Devo 7. You can use this to fly RC aircraft models OR hook it up to the PC so you can practice worry-free using simulators like the one I used on my video :)
i tried to download it and i did't give me a .exe file it agve me a zip file
Thx
when i go run SppConsole.exe the program dont open...
+Rubén Jurado Dueñas Right Click and Run as Admin
+guuuuustaf
found the "problem" put on the props and the accelerating stops when you lift upp a few mm.
Glad you sorted this out buddy!
+Dave Silva I just plugged The devo 7 in. with mode f210. but now i Change to mod 2 soo i dont mess up some settings. duno If it helps or not.
What if you don't have a mic port on your laptop :(
ken pleil Ken, then you can't use this method, although are you sure there isn't a port? :) - the other option you have is to buy the USB version of this cable if you want to be able to use them w/a sim. You can find these cables on ebay. I believe they are the "UB-001" cable but I have not used them myself so please double check that they're the correct ones, although I'm almost sure that they are. Good luck bud, hope you get your sim working!
site not exist any more T_T
hi man , got other game for free ,play for devo 7
