    A million resin pros out there and you have the best and only ideas, I've used the Vaseline on my wood resin art, and works like a charm. Thank you so much

    I love using liquid latex! I use a silicone paint like brush. It's easy to clean too and can reuse it. Thank you for you're videos 💜💜💜

    I use Vaseline on top of the tape. It makes it easier to peel the tape up with the drips

    I use the heat gun with Vaseline, comes off so easy. Your the best

    Thanks Sheri - haven't used Latex before. I use blue painters tape from the hardware store - it works really well. Although, a bit tricky to apply to round boards - maybe the Latex would be easier.

    Thank you, thank you, thank you Sheri. . I've been searching to find out what some resonators put on the back for drips. I thought it was "liquid silicone" but no details found. Never heard of using Vaseline. Tape would be a nightmare to use on irregular edges, like on geode coasters. Thank you again.

    You can also allow the resin to fully cure when using tape …then use a heat gun to the drips …and it comes off extremely well. Will try the latex 😃

    Oh why didn't I watch this video first? I had a really gorgeous piece for a friend that needed a top coat and got the drips... I managed to remove the globs with a cutter but there were still marks... I have leftover latex from last Halloween, that would be great then, how long do you let the resin cure before removing the latex? Do you let it cure completely or do you do it when it's still softish like the tape method?

    How do you clean up the side edges from resin drips? Everyone has videos on tricks to clean underneath but what about those stubborn sides?

    Thanks Sheri...I normally tape & have used vasoline before but found it very messy & if you get it anywhere on your piece it repels any resin but the latex looks great & although you have to wait for it to dry between coats looks the easiest to apply, so I just may have to add this to my materials 🤗

    Thanks for doing the review of the three kinds of protection for the back of a resin pieces. I think I would use the latex way, because I mainly do jewlery. It would work better for small things. I tried tape and it was a headache!! Thanks!!

    I use electronical tape instead of masking tape it comes off better. Especially if you forget it and it sets fully it is so much better than masking tape or painters tape

    Thanks for the video! Have you had issues where your latex leaves a mark on the resin? I had that issue with my coasters and the Latex left a mark on all of them because they had a clear section of resin and that’s where the mark is

    • @sherivegasartist
      @sherivegasartist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven’t had that issue before. I always make sure I do really thick layer of latex and wait for it to fully dry before pouring my resin

    • @joycezavala3803
      @joycezavala3803 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sherivegasartist Thanks, it’s the first time that ever happened to me. I left the latex to dry overnight and did the pour and the next day when I took off the latex off I noticed that on the middle of all my coasters which for these particular ones was clear the latex left a mark. So I was just wondering since I can’t take off. I’m going to try to put resin on the bottoms to see if it hides it. Thanks for your response, appreciate it.

      Thank you for this comment. I'm making cutting boards from misc wood. I'm doing a paint pour. I've already painted the backs black and applied resin there. I was going to put the latex on that then or the top and sides. Guess I'll do the tape. Thank you!

    So far, tape seems to be the best for me… but, you do need to be right there in 1-2 hours to peel it off.

    • @sherivegasartist
      @sherivegasartist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      for under he board you can always wait until the next day to pill it off. Sometimes you might get a drip or 2 sticking to the tap. which you can you a heat gun to heat the drip up and it should then just peal off.
