Hi Steve! In regards to the pva glue please try mod podge! I actually did the same method with it and it peeled right off but you need 4 thick coats instead to the point that you can see a thick residue even after it's dried. Afterwards, dig your finger nail into the center of the glued piece (of course when the piece is rock hard) and pull it like you would a mask as it won't peel from the corners adhered to the resin. Also coat the side of your piece to avoid the resin from pulling apart your wood.

I use latex on resin pieces with irregular edges that are very difficult to tape. I do several thick layers. If you are thinking of doing an experiment in the future I will just say this. There are videos of people ripping latex off the back of their resin in one piece with a flourish. You can, of course do this if you so wish, but don't be surprised if the latex takes the resin off the sides of your piece and even chunk out of the resin piece itself 😂😂. I heat the latex up gently and prise up a bit to get started with before removing slowly little bit at a time. Be careful not to overheat the resin with your gun. I tried but could not get cold latex off resin.
I use masking tape on wooden boards and MDF . I didn't think latex would stick to MSG as it won't stick to my wood boards. You have consider less drips than me 😂😂😂😂😂😂.
