If you can't immediately tell something is Disney faking being "woke" with 100% certainty then chances are they're just being lazy some other way.
I guess it's not so much of a ''woke-ification'' but an actual attempt to give it some kind or development arch to Mufasa instead of ''yeah he was always meant to be king and that's it'' but more of a ''yes he was the undesired underdog and you will see how he overcame everything and transformed into king that you love''. It's actually kind of impressive that these movies haven't beaten Adum into complete apathy. Like, I no longer have the capability to give a shit about these movies. I won't see it, and that's where the conversation ends.
When adam is higher resolution than the trailer hes watching lmao
So... what, Scar gets his scars from Timon, and the reason why Timon and Pumbaa don't like carnivores isn't for like, the food chain reason, it's because they had some kinda fight with the lions?
And then they’re too stupid and face blind (like myself lol) to recognize him during the scene they return to pride rock??
Lmfao alrightyy
Adam how am I supposed to know its snow the lions are walking on if no character wiped it with their paw, put it in their mouth and said "Snow."? Youre assuming a lot about this movie right off the bat here.
It sounds like they're retconning the absolute hell out of the Lion King lore. Scar and Mufasa are going to be adopted brothers cause Mufasa will be an orphan, and Scar will already be in line for the throne and I guess be replaced by Mufasa? Very weird.
I ONE BILLION PERCENT guarantee that scene with Timon and Scar at 8:00 will be the scene where Scar gets his scar. YOU KNOW that I'm right. It's the most 202X Disney thing ever.
Naw, it'll be a "And then we fought and killed Scar and were big heroes!!", and Simba will smack them down saying that's not how it happened.
@@Eidlones that would imply this movie giving 0.01 shits about its characters. I'm putting my money on Scar's scar origin story
It pains me the "live action" Lion King made over a billion dollars. Just why? Hopefully this one flops.
Why? Nostalgia and live action. Easy peasy money. But this one lacks that comparison value to the original, so it won’t make as much cash.
Might still make money though, animal movies have universal appeal world wide.

Judging from the trailer, it seems mufasa will be placed in many life threatening situations which is an interesting choice considering we know for certain that he will survive each one - bravo disney
"Introducing Blue Ivy Carter" you gotta love that blatant nepotism.
Also sad to hear about the health issues Adam is suffering with. I hope he can get things sorted out and be able to find a much more comfortable way to work.
They are making a “LiVe AcTiOn” origin story around Mufasa?
My god they really have no fucking ideas do they?
Prediction: Their mother will tell Scar “you’ll be a better king” or something on her death bed & he’ll resent/blame Mufasa for her death after she gets stampeded by elephants or something.
If you read the trailer’s description on TH-cam, it claims that Scar was originally the intended heir, and his family took an orphaned Mufasa in. The trailer itself claims Mufasa doesn’t actually have noble blood in him. Needless to say, that’s a BIG retcon to TLK lore.
@@BrandonPilcher then Scar is completely justified! Why do they keep justifying the villains 😂

Disney have turned off the comments on the trailer. That's fucking funny.
New low for disney: Both an unnecessary prequel AND "live action" in one.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN WITHOUT A DROP OF NOBILITY?
He descends from a line of kings. You know, the kings of the past in the sky that look over the members of the ROYAL FAMILY?
WHY, DISNEY? WHY? What is the purpose of this retcon? It's "woke"? I hate the way that word is used with all the fibers of my being, BUT it does read like an attempt to "woke-ify" Mufasa. If Musasa isn't descended from a dynastic line of kings, what does it change? Does it make him more good-er? He's so much better-er because he's not from a royal family see??!!!!????!!!?.??!!!???! He's morally betterrrte, he's not like the Winsdor or whatever the fuck HE'S STILL A KING THAT WAS CHOSEN BY WHAT THE FUCKING GODS IT SEEMS I DUNNO WHAT ARE YOU DOING WHAT IS THIS WHY IS THIS HOW IS THIS
Uh............you good man?
alternatively: they did it because they're lazy and having a character fight to be king is an easy way to create a story with zero effort. not everything is an attempt to "woke-ify" shit, the assholes at Disney are just lazy, hence every attempt they make to "woke-ify" something is terrible instead of actually thought out. If you can't immediately tell something is Disney faking being "woke" with 100% certainty then chances are they're just being lazy some other way.
@@waterloggeddoggo Yes.
No.
Not that it makes it less of a senseless retcon, they just didn't think it through I guess.
It’s 100% to affirm that Mufasa would be nothing with the matriarchal lionesses making him into what he was, and not any patriarchal-related lineage (aka, a KINGLY dynasty)
It’s just more of the same, pompous and repetitive
And Beyoncé’s daughter is in it 🙄

This prequel is not beating the kimba allegations.
i honestly kinda hope that the plot is just an actual kimba ripoff. that would be funny.
Ever since getting on ADHD meds I finally had the ability to work on long term projects. They're nothing too ambitious and it's stuff I know I can finish however, there is no worse feeling, no feeling more demoralizing than having to put a project on hiatus because of life being too much especially when it comes to health issues. And every now and then I'll get DMs from random people on reddit asking if the project is out yet or if they can see a demo and it just breaks my heart because it's something I'm passionate about that I know I can do but my body and life situation is holding me back. I wish Adam all the best and I hope they get through all the chaos and return to a stage where they can do what they love. Not just with big work projects but also with music and anything done in their free time. I don't know what it's like to have my work be viewed by millions and I don't know what it's like to have people's income depend on it. That must add so much more pressure and I just want to offer my sympathy and moral support.
You can't rush art. Or life.
Something Disney no longer respects as common sense, and thus we have this trailer.
I'll be back in 3-5 years when the part 2 is released.
Every single trailer has now comments turned off LOL
PR going into overdrive.
I never saw the trailer, so I legitimately thought the Lin-Manuel Miranda was a Hamilton joke from Jack. Good Lord, they just hire people solely because they're popular.
He's the biggest Broadway guy working right now.
Hamilton in many ways is what started Hollywood's new obsession with trying to dish out musicals
Nah they hire lin because he's the ONLY songwriter who will work for them. They can offer money but that's not enough if they're not even gonna let the writers write.
@@ursidae97 even though they have a device of reputation now, many people will still work for Disney because of the credentials it brings.
@@desdar100 not songwriters apparently

Paperwill just posted a 6 hour long video on Korean Propoganda after working on it for 11 months, and the comments were all just happy with his piece. I see the Lion King video going over in a similar way, especially since you are so passionate about the subject. And even if it ends up hella long, i will watch the whole thing twice

i'm genuinely astonished at how ugly this movie is. modern video game cutscenes look better than it.
Is it bad that I thought it looked like a modern video game cutscene…?
There's a good reason you feel this way. The 3D modeling engine the film utilizes is based on Unity, which is primarily used as video game design software.
I cannot stand the direction Disney has gone. They took EVERYTHING that made Disney successful and loved and THREW IT OUT THE WINDOW! Why do they obsess over trying to make everything Realistic yet it makes everything AWFUL! I can't stand it. Bring me back to the 90's.
I'm convinced this film will be a huge circle jerk to Beyonce again. It's shameless.

I've heard Beyonce's daughter is voicing Kiara, Simba's daughter from The Lion King: Simba's Prime. Are they making a sequel or a prequel? Is there going to be a scene where Mufasa is looking down on everybody that's alive and they say a couple lines?
I looked it up and apparently it’s going to be both. Rafiki is going to be telling Kiara the story of how Mufasa rose to power, with witty commentary by Timon and Pumba, and that’s the framing device. So like a bad version of Lion King 1&1/2

The major studio trailer videos aren't in 4k because they haven't finished the final renders on the CGI (which there is always a ton of on major studio releases), so they are hiding that lack of detail with a lower resolution.
It looks ugly now lol, let alone in 4K
Why do they say blue Ivy like she’s important she’s just her kid . Not to be mean but
Right no one’s looking at that and being like “woah blue ivy’s in this?!”. It’s more like “oh Beyoncé’s daughter”.
