im in my late 20s, didn't take a gap year, and went straight working and haven't had any breaks yet ever since. It's exhausting tbh, and i really feel u Linh, one thing that i would have done too, if only i knew adulting was this hard. 😘
Same here. Straight up went to working full time in the government after graduating, then enrolled to grad school. It was exhausting and.... expensive. I didn't get to explore and be genuinely happy of what I am doing. Now that I have took a break in grad school, I felt so comforted and relieved. I was able to travel and meet new people. I am in awe of Linh's maturity and willingness to take initiative when she knows it's time to put herself and her mental health first. We love you and are so proud of you, Linh, and we can't wait to see where this next year will take you! Ps. congrats on 1M subs!

@@CozySage so why perpetuate it @_@ gap year = dropping out. dropping out is you don't finish your degree and continue your education. gap year is a break from school before you complete your education

I just graduated and loved school but daaang having sincere time with myself is something I want to build on, Thank you Linh ❤️✨all the loves
I feel like she’s just using the shock factor of “college drop out” in elite higher education as a sort of click bait. She’s definitely perpetuating some “drop out” stigma in the process which doesn’t sit completely right with me…
@@crftieph Nothing at all. People should do what is best for them regarding stepping away from college or continuing to take courses. However, there is an unfortunate and untrue stigma (especially in elite academia) that choosing to leave college or "dropping out" is a bad thing or a failure.
Hi Linh 👋🏽🌈I know how important school is to you so I want to applaud you on your decision as I can imagine it was a difficult one for you to make. it’s so sweet hearing about your family and brother and your intention behind it all 🫶🏽✨sending you all my love 💕
Ah, the eldest child burden. Somehow, that burden gets heavier when that child is a girl. Being an eldest child of an Asian family myself, I feel you Linh. Self care is very very important to avoid resenting your family and the people you're taking care of. Enjoy your gap year!
Hey Linh, it's very awesome you are taking a break and able to graduate on time! However, I wouldn't say “dropping out of college/college dropout” because that would mean you are permanently leaving the institution and that's a completely separate path then what youre doing. Just think it's a bit misleading to say is all But aside from that I hope your gap year goes well!
I think she is aware of this, she just decided to stick to the confusion anyways. “Dropping out” was only mentioned at the beginning of the video, after the advert, she mainly spoke of “taking a gap year” I am surprised that lihn is now chasing clout on TH-cam with deliberately misleading title.
It's true but she used it in the title too and as a cliff hanger from the last vid :P I think she's aware of the clout but she should change it- The news is big enough on it's own
Linh, as another Vietnamese eldest daughter with a younger brother with a disability, I have to say I relate to all of your feelings here. As someone who is slightly older, I just wanted to say, you’re doing fine, take some time for yourself, you can be a bit selfish sometimes 😇 Good luck on your gap year
As someone who is also Vietnamese American the emotions were felt through the screen. SENDING YOU A BIG HUG!!! EXCITED TO SEE WHATS NEXT ;))) REMEMBER TO BE KIND TO YOURSELF and BREATH!!
Took a gap semester and honestly, the gap is so worth it. I wish I could’ve done a full year but even with just that little semester I know I wouldn’t have been able to finish college without it. Here’s to you and future ventures!
Congrats! Im sure it's well needed. I'm also taking a gap year. It's kind of crazy because I'm literally a senior and have only 2 semesters left. I feel like people will say tough it out, but I've been at it for 4 years straight and my depression is killing me right now. I'm exhausted. I just need a break. Everyone needs time to recuperate and relax no matter when that time comes. I also want to work towards having my own personal space like my own apartment.
I've always been a firm believer in gap years and finding ways to save money while going through school - GOOD FOR YOU! Thank you for opening up and sharing with us all, Linh! You got this.
A gap year changed my life! When you have open time to sit with life rather than be rushed through it, it opens up a whole new perspective. Best of luck :)
hi linh, i also took a gap year…two actually. i needed time to focus on my mental health, and now i’m better and back in school. it was definitely worth it! such a great experience of self-discovery and betterment. good luck on your journey, and i hope you find what you are looking for! ✨✨✨✨
so im four years behind you in school- so you're going into junior year of college, im going into junior year of high school. ive followed along your journey ever since my 8th grade year, and ive seen so many changes in our lives that have paralleled one another. my biggest fear was that i would never be able to take care of the ones i love doing what im passionate about- music. but you have inspired me so deeply, pursuing art and making your own business. as an 8th grader, all i cared about was how cool your clothes were and all of your cool prints you had on your wall. now, i see you as an inspiration to hopefully be able to follow in your footsteps and be able to make it on my own. thank you for being a role model i can't wait to see where you go next.
I already loved you personalitywise but hearing all of the things you plan to do for your family I have nothing but the greatest respect for you.. you are such an amazing person and I am so happy to be able to follow your journey
Linh!! I just want to say thank you. As a low-income, first generation student about to enter her second year of college as a transfer I felt so seen by everything you were saying. I have been having so much anxiety with this process but feeling like I’m not alone in this roller coaster of academia and life makes me feel seen. I wish you luck and success on your gap year! I will be here supporting🙆🏽♀️💕
I graduated from college a year ago (your vids kept me so positive for senior year during a pandemic omg 😭) and have been working for abt 7 months and I can say you ABSOLUTELY need to take this time for yourself now. I was super hyper competitive and driven in college like you, but it has been reallly tough to make that transition to the professional world. At this age, we need time to focus on what our core values and beliefs and self is/are in order to navigate the world. I really launched into the working world without that, and it’s been a rough go. But now I’m working to find that core self now, and I hope you will too!! We will have an incredible summer ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
As a person who's well into her late 20s and still problematic af, I actually find it very insane how life's so difficult but you still manage to work around it. it's seriously impossible to not be so amazed by you. I hope you have a wonderful gap year and more success in the near future
i took a gap year after highschool and before starting college, it has been the best decision i have ever made and now i feel like i'm now a much better person and i finally know what to do with my life, i'm so so proud of you linh !!
I love how you worded experiencing life in a different way. We as a society always speak of romanizing your life traveling loving being spontaneous doing what ever you want. When there are plenty of people who can’t do that and don’t have that option. You can enjoy your life in all it forms that it comes in wether ideal or totally in unexpected.
taking a 6-month "gap year" last year was one of my most favorite experiences. looking back at it a year later I feel nostalgic at the personal & professional growth I was able to make and I honestly miss having all the time to plan whatever I want. wishing you THE BEST linh!!! love you & your content, I'm so excited to be consuming it all (not you... just the content haha)
I can safely say that taking a gap year was the BEST thing I could ever do for my mental health, my wallet and my future! Not only do i feel 10x better about returning but I feel so well nourished, grown and excited to return. I feel like I avoided the crazy amount of burnout I would've caused if I just kept trekking through without taking a break to figure out who I am and what I really want. So excited for you!!
hey linh! im not usually one to write comments but when I heard you talk about having to be there for a sibling with a disability it really hit home and I started crying from shock lol. I have never EVER seen any other piece of media address the stress and anxiety about having to be the legal guardian for a sibling (for me, its going to be my sister) and I've been watching you for a while and it literally made my day 100x better hearing you're going through something similar. thank you so much for addressing this, you don't know how much it helped. love ya!
girl yes!! as a college student and asian american i totally feel how much courage it must have taken to dedicate this time for yourself and exploring less (conventionally) stable pursuits 💛
I'm so happy that you're talking about this. I also took a gap year after my first year of college. Sometimes people ask me why I did it but even I don't know. I just wanted to do it. I felt like I needed it. It was the first time I was not studying for so long. At first it felt weird. I remember there were days when I was doing literally nothing, and some people told me I was just wasting my time. At first I thought the same as well, but at least I was enjoying it a lot. Now I'm still studying and I'm finishing my degree next year. However, I think that the gap year helped me a lot to feel more comfortable with my degree and also my life. So yeah, I definitely don't regret it! Greetings from Spain :)
I want to let you know how special these videos are to me and a lot of people. I’m about to leave high school, so having you for advice like an older sister, means the world. As another person looking to go into design as well, these help on a whole deeper level
From someone else that will eventually take care of their sibling, I am glad that you are doing what’s best for you now❤️ and for not letting it stop you from pursuing your dreams💕💕💕
as someone who is graduating this year after taking a gap year, i hope you take this time to rest and find out a lot about yourself! you absolutely deserve this time off and the decision to take the time off probably wasn't easy. so i'm very proud!
Almost a year ago I decided to drop out, cause university made me miserable to the point where I would get a panic attack when I got an email related to uni, I was depressed and constantly anxious. It took me a while to realise that nobody should feel this way in any environment and honestly the decision to take a gap year is one I will forever be proud of. This year has been nothing but a blessing and now despite people telling me that if I took a gap year I would not come back to uni, I feel more than ready to finish my degree. So your decision is amazing and I wish you luck 😊 P.s sorry if there are any mistakes English is not my native language 😅
So happy that you’re prioritizing what you need and want in life, college will always be there! I can’t wait to also watch you lean more into your creative side and take a break after what has certainly been an unprecedented college experience for most!
I am so happy you’re sharing this I wished I would known how to express myself to my parents when I was in college because now I’ve graduated and I feel so burnt out even after a year. I think you’re making the right decision 💜💜
You seemed like you were REALLY struggling last year especially the most recent term. I’m glad you’re taking a second to breathe! You’re definitely not the first to take a break mid way through
So happy for you and thank you for letting us follow this next chapter in your life! I'm finally at stage in my career where I'm able to support my parents, its challenging and I try not to let it burden me. Take care and continue to advocate for your self and your own joy whilst trying to support your family. Wishing you all the best!
Honestly, if I didn’t grow up such a high pressured environment where graduating in the least amount of years was so idolized and turned into a competition, I think I would’ve been able to make more sensible decisions for my future! Each choice isn’t an end all be all, but I def could’ve avoided some academic heartbreaks had I taken care of myself. Best of luck!!! ❤️❤️
As someone who has been working full time since 15 and never took a gap year from school or work and ended up fully dropping outta college (for financial reasons) I say soak up every moment of your gap year. It's truly a blessing to be able to do it. It's not selfish in any way to serve yourself so that one day you can serve others as the best version of yourself.
I took a gap year and go back to school next semester the only difference is im graduating late (which i wouldve either way) it felt kinda bad at first but i dont regret my gap year at ALL. We love and support you linh we’re HEREE FOR YOUUU 💕
Been a caretaker for a family member before. Really hoping the best for you, your brother, and the rest of your family moving forward. Giving of yourself to take care of someone, in ANY capacity, is a truly beautiful thing.
omg this video is such an emotional rollercoaster for me. feeling so much love for you, linh!! excited for your gap year of adventures and space for yourself!
Omg this is so relatable, only that I'm alr on my second year of leave of absence and i will finally be back this coming school year. Taking a gap year was also one of the hardest decisions i had to make, but I'm actually glad I took this option of resting and prioritizing my mental health first. Altho still a bit stigmatized in an academic achievement-focused asian household😬, there is no shame in opting to take a break. We deserve it (but ofc i also understand those who cannot afford to stop bc of certain circumstances). Besides, there are also sooo many things we can learn outside of school, without much pressure. So many avenues for growth🌷. Hugs to everyone, especially you linh.💗
Linh, you are the future I want to see in the world. You are amazing and beyond your years. As an Educator in Special Education, I do admire that you want to be your brother's guardian. I also admire that you want to give back your to parents. It's is truly beautiful as you are. I can't wait to watch your content as your grow in yourself. Go good girl!
Respect!!!! I think taking a gap year is a big decision especially when you're almost half way on your course!! I am very excited for youu!! Aaaa good luck with your journey this year Linh!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
I understand, I took a gap year when I was transferring to a different college in the fall and then another one when I was diagnosed with a very rare autoimmune diease and I kept going in and out of the hospital, it helps a lot with your mindset and knowing what you wanna do and save money. I'm so happy you're taking the time for yourself, I feel we all need that once in our lives.
so excited for you!! I had a semester off due to graduating early too and I just stayed in my college town to enjoy the full 4 year college experience and I can't recommend enough. I hope you stay connected to campus and are able to explore the local area even more too!
i’ve never commented on your videos before, but I just felt like I had to express my gratitude. you’re such an inspiration to me, and i taking this gap year for yourself to grow and do what you want to do is just what you deserve
Linh this is such an important video!! Also the eldest daughter of an immigrant family (eldest of six) and I’m so proud of you for taking a gap year! I went through a really tough and rigorous uni experience working 2-3 jobs and then straight to a community organizing job and let me just say…I am burnt out. The filial piety is super real and the selflessness too - you owe yourself all the good you emit to others 🤍 so excited for your gap year!
Went to college straight at 17 after my high school. Quit after a year, worked for 2 years, went back and STILL didn’t make the right choice. NL doesn’t let you switch college that easily (we don’t have ‘majors’, just very specific routes), almost always you need to start the 4 years all over again. I’m 24 now and next year I’m finALLY starting the college that I want to do, I have a great job as social media manager for a tiktok influencer and for the first time in my life I’m feeling like things are going right and I’m at the place where I need to be 💖 You’ll be fine, thanks for sharing your story and thoughts ☁️💜
This whole family-centered thing and how having a career that doesn’t fit the ‘narrative’, i feel you linh😭 glad that you are taking time for urself! All the best to your gap year!!
this was really inspiring linh, it was really amazing to see you open up about your struggles and how much you want to support your family. all the best in your gap year!
Me too , im on my last year now on college which is my internship but i decided to skip for one year and applied for a BPO company to save money and go back next year. Some ppl might say its such a waste but for me its not coz I still have my goals despite being alone and broke
man i havent seen ur channel in years and youve changed and grown so much! i hardly watch youtube, i graduated college last winter. and im in the same boat as you, refocusing on creative and personal goals. i miss school, i wouldve taken every class if i could, but i decided to graduate early with CS and art studios and i ended up droppin wgs minor, math (one class away :') ), mech engineering major. i realized that i dont need school to learn these things, its through action and work that can still make me very credible through utilizing art and computer science. doing all this too to pay off my parents' mortgage and help my brother get through school, first generation eldest sibling "responsibility/burden" i feel. good luck out there linh! its scary, but know youre not the only one experiencing the same rough journey as you.
hi linh, being the same age as you and really really struggling with my life right now, you truly are my biggest role model in terms of how you work towards your aspirations, having so much dreams while being real about them to balance them with your own life and just having the biggest heart // i truly wish you all the best and i know good things will come your way to someone who is so lovelinh (badam tush)
You’re so sweet to think about your family and it’s amazing that you give time to do whatever you want and enjoy life and chill out a little more, not everything is work or studies… you’re so young and you have time to take risk and be creative… being adult sucks sometimes cuz we get more responsabilities in life but let’s enjoy the moment, family and life more… family it’s the most important thing 💕 I know you’ll be fine you’re so breave for doing that
Good for you! I would just like to add that you need to take care of yourself not just to give back to others, although of course this is a kind thing to do, but also just because you are a person and you are important enough to take care of in your own right. Wishing you luck on your journey!
You are such a wonderful person. How you care about your family and understand your responsibilities in such a healthy way is so inspiring and I feel like I learn so much from you everyday. Love you and I'm so excited for this phase of your life!
Man, people needed to hear this. Lihn! Thank you for showing the world how important responsibility is, and how it isn’t a burden to take responsibility. You are so mature! It’s so refreshing to see!
I’ve been watching your videos since high school, when I was so excited to find an Asian American speech and debate kid on TH-cam. Watching this video now filled my heart with so much warmth - it was almost a sense of secondhand healing from generational expectations. Thank you for putting a piece of yourself into the world; myself and everyone else here appreciate it beyond words. 🧡
I think taking a gap year is just Great!! I took a gap year while I was in college and it made all the difference in the world, when I returned to back to uni. Sometimes you need that break to rest, to find out who you are, and to plan your next move in life. Like you I took a gap year is to take care of an ailing family member and I couldn’t live with myself is to see other family members pitch in and I not be there to help, so I understand what it’s like to be there for family. I wish you all the best in your gap year!! You are going to be fine!!
you deserve rest and peace in your life so much, linh! i hope your gap year is everything you want/need it to be and so much more! sending love your way
This is such a real and raw video. Online, we see people everywhere who just seem to have endless amounts of money and time to spend but realistically, most of us can't go to fancy cities to study or travel 24/7. Also so inspiring to hear you're taking a gap year to pursue your creative/job passions. I'm considering the same but don't know if I have the guts to go through with it...
go linh! your heart is so caring and considerate and don't think for a moment that your decision is selfish. i hope it'll benefit you in ways that you never imagined. enjoy your year
yeaaaaaaaaaa girl 🥳 cheers to working smarter than harder! the ability to break from the doctrine of what’s expected of a young successful individual needs to be normalized, especially if it leads to other avenues of success i.e. financial savings, rested minds and souls, etc. i plan to take a work sabbatical soon and it’s boggling everyone but it’s happening!!!! 🧚🏻♀️
linh is the only youtuber i think i can trust 100% because she is GENUINE and you can watch, all of the amazing things she does SHE PUTS HER SOUL AND HARD WORK into it and ofc generous sprinkle of LOVE. it's been more than 3 years since i have been watching her and i have never felt so connected to a person on youtube who is so so kind and thoughtful. I WISH ALL THE VERY BEST FOR YOUR FUTURE AND ALL THAT THE WORLD HAS TO OFFER. yes things can get tough at times, but just be proud of all the obstacles you have faced so far you are an inspiration, yes you really are🌸😭🥺
Good for you for taking this leap of faith, also congrats on a million subscribers! Your videos are always so beautifully made, hope you reach 2M soon ❤
Linh, this is amazing! I've loved watching your videos these past 3-4 years and seeing you grow into such an incredible individual! You know how to make me cry, laugh, and feel chaotic/calm at just the right moments! I had a similar experience to you - where because I did Running Start in Washington state, I was able to finish my degree program in 3 years instead of 4 and walk at commencement with my friends. Although the reasoning is much more sad - as my dad was going through chemotherapy when I was a rising senior.... can't wait to see all the crazy and fun shit that you get up to in your year off, and I hope that it's restorative and re-energizing for you to find your center again and get some deep rest! You deserve it. Life moves too fast, if we don't slow down. Your evolution on this channel and as a person has been a gift and a joy to witness. I can't wait for us all to continue growing together with you!!! Hope you see this!!!!
i'm currently 21 years old, took a gap year last year but not to do shit that i love nor take a break. i took it because i have to stop school because we have no more money to fund for my education. i was forced to look for a job and now i work as a call center agent. could've been fun finishing school or taking a gap year to take care of myself. i am really happy for you linh!
Thank you for being vulnerable with us Linh. I've been watching your channel since you were in high school and I'm so proud of your success. Keep up the amazing work and I appreciate you so much
i can FEEL your contenment and excitement thru my bones! and it makes me happy too seeing you happy. i hope you can do everything u want to do, you are such a lovely person and u spread positivity. im wishing all the best for you, linh! looking forward to your journey!
So excited for you!! That’s always such a tough decision to make, but tremendously proud of you for doing it and putting yourself first when for so long it’s been about others. Growing up, being an adult, and being a *mature* adult takes a lot of time and energy so wishing you luck ˙ᵕ˙ I’m looking forward to what you do and wishing you the best ♡
I actually didn't have an opportunity to take a gap year or to go abroad during my studies. We were a little group and it was the last time they are doing that line of study. So I couldn't take a gap year because I wouldn't be able to come back to it, and I couldn't go abroad because it's either all or no one (and there is always this one person who doesn't wanna go). And I needed at least that gap year so bad. For me and for my mental health. Safe to say my grades went down and my attendance went down because I was burnt out and overwhelmed and I couldn't take some time to readjust. I am so happy to see you acknowledge that you need time and have the ability to take that time for yourself. I completely understand you and I hope you find yourself, get your mental health in check, rest and let your creativity take you to places during this year.
I'm so happy for you and also, thank you because this video made me feel like I'm not alone in worrying about eventually giving up traveling or studying or working in places really far away and being very career oriented but also having this feeling of responsibility towards my family, in my case because I'm an only child.
I LOVE U LINH!!! Definitely relate to being the eldest daughter of an asian household. I just want to say that I'M SO PROUD OF YOU. even though i'm just a subscriber, pls be reminded that we love u and will always support u!!!! ALWAYS!!!!! 💙
You are doing great! Take all the time that you need - I can only imagine all the thoughts circulating in your mind as you navigate adulting and figuring out what you want to accomplish. Sending much love and support from NYC~
People don’t understand how hard it is to take this leap of faith and going with their intuition. I’m so proud of you for sticking to your guns and doing what’s best for you 👏🏽💛
I’m so excited for you! Thank u for sharing and taking us along your journey. I’ve learned so much from your reflections and I am reminded how important it is to take breaks no matter where you are in life. Even as we take care of those around us, it’s important to pursue what we want in life too. Thank you again and hope you have a great gap year!
I’m amazed at your very thoughtful decision that considers not only your health and growth, but also setting yourself up to care for your family. Definitely not a light decision to make - you are so brave! Thank you for sharing your thoughts behind choosing a gap year and I wish you all the luck!
Not gonna lie, I started watching you last year and I am so happy to be a witness to this new chapter in your life. Your content has always been an anchor when I was having a difficult time and I hope that my support as a viewer will help you as you navigate this new journey!!!
its so fun to watch u grow, as a person and... not as a "brand" i guess, but watching your fanbase grow ? ive been following you since about april 2020, and it BLOWS my mind that your getting crazy sponsorships and making these gorgeous gorgeous videos on the reg !! your such an amazing, mature, and wonderful person. so proud of how far youve come 💕
Linh makes me not ashamed to wanna take a gap year, to take that time for myself and focus on my needs and my wants. You create such a safe and positive space on this platform and it truly makes my day when you post
im in my late 20s, didn't take a gap year, and went straight working and haven't had any breaks yet ever since. It's exhausting tbh, and i really feel u Linh, one thing that i would have done too, if only i knew adulting was this hard. 😘
That’s also really admirable of you! Hope you get some breaks ena! You deserve it 💕
I’m in the same position right now babes :( 💖 hugs
LITERALLY SAME
sending lots of love your way!
Same here. Straight up went to working full time in the government after graduating, then enrolled to grad school. It was exhausting and.... expensive. @@sarahcoreas3147 what's wrong with drop out?
@@crftieph Nothing at all. People should do what is best for them regarding stepping away from college or continuing to take courses. However, there is an unfortunate and untrue stigma (especially in elite academia) that choosing to leave college or "dropping out" is a bad thing or a failure.
Hi Linh 👋🏽🌈I know how important school is to you so I want to applaud you on your decision as I can imagine it was a difficult one for you to make. it’s so sweet hearing about your family and brother and your intention behind it all 🫶🏽✨sending you all my love 💕
I completely agree with you! Also big fan
Just think it's a bit misleading to say is all
But aside from that I hope your gap year goes well!
It's true but she used it in the title too and as a cliff hanger from the last vid :P I think she's aware of the clout but she should change it- The news is big enough on it's own
Not me not trying to cry in the middle of my school library because of this ugh I just love you so much ! Wishing you only the best during this time !
Same girl! Wishing you the best as well!! 💕
Linh, as another Vietnamese eldest daughter with a younger brother with a disability, I have to say I relate to all of your feelings here. As someone who is slightly older, I just wanted to say, you’re doing fine, take some time for yourself, you can be a bit selfish sometimes 😇 Good luck on your gap year
Yess to all of this 💕
As someone who is also Vietnamese American the emotions were felt through the screen.
You and me both😭❣️
what did you do in your gap year?
@@user-mn8hb2dh2q i went to therapy lmao
so im four years behind you in school- so you're going into junior year of college, im going into junior year of high school. ive followed along your journey ever since my 8th grade year, and ive seen so many changes in our lives that have paralleled one another. my biggest fear was that i would never be able to take care of the ones i love doing what im passionate about- music. but you have inspired me so deeply, pursuing art and making your own business. as an 8th grader, all i cared about was how cool your clothes were and all of your cool prints you had on your wall. now, i see you as an inspiration to hopefully be able to follow in your footsteps and be able to make it on my own.
thank you for being a role model i can't wait to see where you go next.
That was so beautiful and so encouraging to hear! 💕
@@_dearolive aw thank you ! you're so sweet :)) ive been following linh for a long while now so thought id share what i was feeling 😌
I already loved you personalitywise but hearing all of the things you plan to do for your family I have nothing but the greatest respect for you.. you are such an amazing person and I am so happy to be able to follow your journey
Someone with your wisdom and understanding of sacrifice is SO noble and SO rare. I love your positivity and drive. Keep it going!!
Excited to see all the amazing things you do for your small business and in general what you end up exploring in this time!!!
I love how you worded experiencing life in a different way. We as a society always speak of romanizing your life traveling loving being spontaneous doing what ever you want. When there are plenty of people who can’t do that and don’t have that option. You can enjoy your life in all it forms that it comes in wether ideal or totally in unexpected.
i’m so happy and proud of u linh!!! cannot wait to see you grow even more 🥹🫶
taking a 6-month "gap year" last year was one of my most favorite experiences. looking back at it a year later I feel nostalgic at the personal & professional growth I was able to make and I honestly miss having all the time to plan whatever I want. wishing you THE BEST linh!!! love you & your content, I'm so excited to be consuming it all (not you... just the content haha)
I'm so happy you're taking things at your own pace! (Also, respectfully, a gap year is not the same as dropping out.)
I’m so happy to see that you’re taking time out for yourself and your dreams/goals. It takes a lot of bravery to go against the expected/norm
CRAZY SCREAMING AND INTENSE EMOTIONS
So your decision is amazing and I wish you luck 😊
P.s sorry if there are any mistakes English is not my native language 😅
So happy that you’re prioritizing what you need and want in life, college will always be there! I can’t wait to also watch you lean more into your creative side and take a break after what has certainly been an unprecedented college experience for most!
I am so happy you’re sharing this I wished I would known how to express myself to my parents when I was in college because now I’ve graduated and I feel so burnt out even after a year. I think you’re making the right decision 💜💜
i’m taking a gap year too! this made me feel better and less guilty about it, it’s very needed and it’s okay to continue education at your own pace!
yes! i feel like gap years are still stigmatized in the US :( im so excited for you!
I can relate this because year I'm taking a gap year tooo thanks being there with me lol ❤️
College sucks the soul out of all of us, both literally and figuratively, take the time to grow for yourself and rest, you deserve it Linh ⭐️⭐️
So happy you’ve found stability + joy in your years off :) excited for your future hehe I’m glad u took that leave of absence
@@withlovelinh Awe you too, linh! Always wishing you the best🥰
I’m 24 now and next year I’m finALLY starting the college that I want to do, I have a great job as social media manager for a tiktok influencer and for the first time in my life I’m feeling like things are going right and I’m at the place where I need to be 💖
You’ll be fine, thanks for sharing your story and thoughts ☁️💜
This whole family-centered thing and how having a career that doesn’t fit the ‘narrative’, i feel you linh😭 glad that you are taking time for urself! All the best to your gap year!!
this was really inspiring linh, it was really amazing to see you open up about your struggles and how much you want to support your family. all the best in your gap year!
Me too , im on my last year now on college which is my internship but i decided to skip for one year and applied for a BPO company to save money and go back next year. Some ppl might say its such a waste but for me its not coz I still have my goals despite being alone and broke
As someone who also has a brother with disabilities, I feel you. Traveling is my dream but I know deep down in my heart that it is not for me. Hugs!!!
man i havent seen ur channel in years and youve changed and grown so much! i hardly watch youtube, i graduated college last winter. and im in the same boat as you, refocusing on creative and personal goals. i miss school, i wouldve taken every class if i could, but i decided to graduate early with CS and art studios and i ended up droppin wgs minor, math (one class away :') ), mech engineering major. i realized that i dont need school to learn these things, its through action and work that can still make me very credible through utilizing art and computer science. doing all this too to pay off my parents' mortgage and help my brother get through school, first generation eldest sibling "responsibility/burden" i feel. good luck out there linh! its scary, but know youre not the only one experiencing the same rough journey as you.
hi linh, being the same age as you and really really struggling with my life right now, you truly are my biggest role model in terms of how you work towards your aspirations, having so much dreams while being real about them to balance them with your own life and just having the biggest heart // i truly wish you all the best and i know good things will come your way to someone who is so lovelinh (badam tush)
It’s so refreshing to see!
you are such a strong person. with all the love and vulnerability you‘re able to show, and with all of the choices you make in life.
congrats to the 1m subs, that's amazing
I'm considering the same but don't know if I have the guts to go through with it...
go linh! your heart is so caring and considerate and don't think for a moment that your decision is selfish. i hope it'll benefit you in ways that you never imagined. enjoy your year
your excitement is so pure! i'm so excited as well to be able to join you on this journey (esp after just hitting 1M subs! so proud
yeaaaaaaaaaa girl 🥳 cheers to working smarter than harder! the ability to break from the doctrine of what’s expected of a young successful individual needs to be normalized, especially if it leads to other avenues of success i.e. financial savings, rested minds and souls, etc. i plan to take a work sabbatical soon and it’s boggling everyone but it’s happening!!!! 🧚🏻♀️
linh is the only youtuber i think i can trust 100% because she is GENUINE and you can watch, all of the amazing things she does SHE PUTS HER SOUL AND HARD WORK into it and ofc generous sprinkle of LOVE. it's been more than 3 years since i have been watching her and i have never felt so connected to a person on youtube who is so so kind and thoughtful. I WISH ALL THE VERY BEST FOR YOUR FUTURE AND ALL THAT THE WORLD HAS TO OFFER. yes things can get tough at times, but just be proud of all the obstacles you have faced so far
you are an inspiration, yes you really are🌸😭🥺
I’m so proud of how far you’ve come, Linh! Here’s to this next chapter. I can’t wait to see what you’ll get up to next 💕
Congratulations on one million!!!! I knew you would hit this back when I found you!! You’re vibes and editing are top tier
So excited for you!! That’s always such a tough decision to make, but tremendously proud of you for doing it and putting yourself first when for so long it’s been about others. Growing up, being an adult, and being a *mature* adult takes a lot of time and energy so wishing you luck ˙ᵕ˙ I’m looking forward to what you do and wishing you the best ♡
thank god the kind goddess put this video out so soon and didn't make us wait after cliffhanger
ALWAYS!!!!! 💙
thank you too Linh, you're such a genuine and safe space here on the internet and I appreciate everything you do especially for your family.
You are doing great! Take all the time that you need - I can only imagine all the thoughts circulating in your mind as you navigate adulting and figuring out what you want to accomplish. Sending much love and support from NYC~
People don’t understand how hard it is to take this leap of faith and going with their intuition. I’m so proud of you for sticking to your guns and doing what’s best for you 👏🏽💛
aaaaaa i m crying so hard because i resonate with you a lot. i am so proud of you, Linh! i will forever stay with you!!!! 🥹🥸❤
Congrats on the 1 Mil girl. You deserve it
I’m so excited for you!
