to be fair they didnt call it descendants 4 either
fr like even if they are planning to make a second movie they should have still made sure that the first one had a satisfying ending but with room to build off of it for the second one so the sequel doesn't feel unnecessary instead of being lazy and making it so you need to make the second movie for the first one to be worth your time
The ending felt so rushed, also if Merlin put that protection spell on the book how were they able to pull the prank in the first place?

I’m still sticking to the theory that Chloe breaking the vase was actually what changed the timeline cause the VK would be frozen anyways so WHO PULLED THE PRANK?! Did they originally trick Ella into helping them but since she’s grounded they didn’t get to her like what happened?!
I had to go fact check the scene at the coup, but Brigitte said "a girl humiliated at her first dance turning her into a monster well that's just cruel and you didn't care you were off with your prince" and in the movie you learn Brigitte and ella were going to the dance together even though cinderella was grounded. (like the story cinderella, more likely a fairy godmother, snuck her out to the dance and back before midnight). I think she got there with Brigitte, then ella and Prince Charming got caught up and went off on their own. Ella left Brigitte, and so she is on her own where the park was pulled on her. I think Brigitte was mad because her only true friend left her, and she had no one to help from the embrassment, and maybe she thinks ella might have been a part of it, I'm not sure. I think, though, she is just mad that she was left alone when ella was off with Prince Charming when they came together.
Random funfacts! Audrey wanted to throw away the crown so nOone could be queen, but the staff was literally calling her name 'pulling her in' like a 'magnet' just as the lyrics state. The staff hypnotized her, making her evil thoughts stronher and stuff.
And the reason they had to call Hades was because she DIED, he's the god of the dead, remember? So yeah, she was dead and they got her back to life-

Agreed, descendants 4 could have been really great if only they advertised it as a part 1 or made it longer because it does feel awfully incomplete. Also, the plot was resolved way too easily. I was waiting for a twist, a "Cinderella was actually the one who played the prank on Bridget" or something. (Actually, I hope they still go that way in the second part, because otherwise why would Bridget hate Cinderella so much? She did nothing wrong as far as I can tell...)

Also, since it was so quick, I feel like we barely got to bond with any of the new characters also speaking of the characters, the only villain character that was actually doing anything in the movie was Ursula‘s sister literally all the other villains were just yes men following her around, that would’ve probably been the most boring acting that they ever did because they literally never did anything the entire time

For some reason, I like to imagine that if they broke up, they would continue to ask Mal to take decisions instead of Ben. And that it was the plan all along : dating the king, making people think you have a voice in the decisions cause you could marry the king and become queen (even if you should not), and once people are used to ask you what to do, you break up with the king and people still come to you because they see the king as useless and you are the boss. That's the way for the coup d'Etat ! It only works in the Descendants universe, though.

My theory is that Cinderella might've done that prank and if u remember, when the book is in bad hands, the VKs freeze, but it's fine when in good hands. But then if u also remember, in the past Cinderella never breaks the vase and so never gets grounded meanwhile, Red and Chloe changed the past by getting her grounded, so she wouldn't be able to go to the party and with the VKs frozen and in detention, it means the prank never happened.

I watched this the night it came out. The actress and actor who play Cinderella and king charming are who played Cinderella and Prince Charming from the Rodgers & Hammerstein Cinderella! It’s a good movie but nothing will beat the first descendants movie. I feel like they rushed this movie tho. I do love the time travel aspect of the movie! With the way they ended it with zooming in on uma I’m hoping that they don’t make her evil again bc we’ve been there been that already. That’s if they even make another one to begin with. My favorite character from this is the pink happy kind Bridget from the past when she was a teen. Love the videos! You do an amazing job!

2) Cinderella didn't come to her aid when it happened
All we know is that she did something to make Bridget feel betrayed but we don't know what because we don't know what actually happened. All I know is that it's probably got something to do with he fact that Ella was humiliated, belittled and treated like she was nothing at school and at home every day of her life and that she didn't want that anymore. And that what needs to happen, is that Ella and Bridget need to talk about it. Get everything on the table, start fixing the wounds, work their way back.

I love jatp, the songs are still stuck in my head, and one song specifically (ni spoilers) makes me cry like a baby every time. Its such a shame it got cancelled, it totally deserved another season. It would be amazing if welchy did a reaction to it!

Hades and Maleficent have been canon as a couple WELL before this series; in fact I believe they became canon in House of Mouse Season 3 Episode 23 which was the 49th episode of HoM, called "Halloween With Hades" where they are on a date

I admit… the 3rd movie wasn’t THAT bad but I think I was more disappointed that the main focus wasn’t about Dizzy going to Auradon😅 I feel the kids cast were pointless (except for Celia) and made no contributions to the plot (ex. The Semee twins🙄) the songs were a bop and so was Audrey, BUT NOTHING COMPARES to the 2 movie😌♥️🐙

Brandy (Cinderella) and Paolo Montalban (Prince Charming) did the Rogers and Hammerstein Cinderella in 1997. It was produced by Whitney Houston and was really popular. They aren't connected to the Disney Cinderella story, but having them come back for this movie was a big deal when it was announced. I hope you'll do a reaction to it one day.

WHOLE TIME OF DESCENDANTS 4 I WAS THINKING “oh Cinderella played the joke on her and Bridget probably took it to seriously” BUT NO. Tbh it probably would have been a better plot also, I’m so mad we didn’t get to see the ball scene which is literally what they were hyping up the whole movie. ALSO LMAO the songs were forgettable and the only good one was the sweeter one besides the jalladin part 😭

21:36 Hades knew Mal was gonna make things right. Even, Ben didn't want The Isle of The Lost to be sieged off of Auradon, after Mal agreed with Ben's parents to bring in The Barrier.
Because I didn’t pay attention to the trailers I went into this expecting the girl in blue to be related to Alice and we were gonna get some cool Wonderland nonsense.

D3: the whole point of these movies is redemption and second chances, hence Audrey. Closing the barrier was because of the fear and prejudice of the villains.. They were accepting a few of the children at a time as a controlled integration thing. Going to the Isle this time, Mal saw that some of the villains *do* love their kids.. They settled in and made a life.
Plus, in a real kingdom/government, even still presided over by a monarchy, there's a process to making a big decision like basically tearing down the prison wall. The red tape would've been MAD.
And Uma and the other kids DECIDED to go back.
The last part of the 4th movie doesn’t even make sense like if the book was gonna freeze Uliana anyways how did the prank happen? Them going back in time wouldn’t have changed anything like it doesn’t make sense
I agree that doesn't make any sense, but i heard a very good theory abt it. It basically says that they found out abt the spell on the book (by just one being frozen for example Malificent) then they chose to force Ella to open it with a threat on Bridgets life or smt. Then they reveal that Ella helped and Bridget feels even more betrayed and well the rest is history.
That would also explain the weird times with Ella (like "Ella is my only friend" and then Ella's weird look).
So yeah this could technically still be true and i do hope that.

I just think it's that they obviously thought of the original Disney movie for him in the trilogy (which makes sense because it's Disney), where they decided to do the Rogers and Hammerstein Cinderella with Brandi for the new movie. Descendants 4 made it clear that the high budget was spent more on the effects than on writing a complete story that doesn’t rely on a second part to make it feel complete. The previous movies all work as stand alone and in general a good prequel should be able to stand on its own without relying on a second part to complete it.
The songs tho, literally every song slaps. Especially Red from rise of red

The rise of red was very interesting in its own way and I’m glad they went with a different storyline. ❤ it will never be the same, but the cameo that Cameron received was still amazing. And I’d like to think that uma wasn’t the one talking during that scene it was china Anne Micklane (sorry spelling.) because you could tell in her eyes that she was genuinely hurting

New ending to Decendents Red: Despite Red and Blues girls attepts to stop the prank, it happens anyway, the clock sends them back to the present with the Red queen still bad gal (it specifically sends them back to when Red girl had to make the choice about Blue girls mom). Red girl starts a fight by refuseing to do what her mom wants and inspires the other goodie people to fight with her. After a bit of the musical fight scene Red girl comes to a revelation. She realizes that the past can't be changed but the future can be. She fights with her mom but also talks because we need that mother daughter breakthrough and gets through to her. Bada bing bada boom, alls well and someone says "You didn't think this was the end of the story, did you?" And we're done.
Red is a STUPID NAME FOR A MAIN CHARACTER. that’s why I changed her name to Rose.
Hades and Maleficent actually make perfect sense. They're the two most powerful and feared villains. I was shocked too, but I'm sure they were a (toxic) power couple.

The thing with the book makes no sense, because it was going to happen the same way both times, so I feel like the writers are a little bit dumb here, they said that the prank would turn Bridget into the queen of hearts and you know is why she's evil, that was the explanation at the beginning of the film, but then at the end of the film all of the villains touch the book and freeze and get given detention but the book was sped by Marilyn so what happened to them at the end of this film wouldn't that have already happened in the past anyway because the same thing would've happened since it was Already activated like red and Chloe did nothing they just took the book so they couldn't do another spell from the book, but they couldn't even touch or get into the book anyway so they would've had to have come up with another solution to get revenge on Bridget without the book so wouldn't that still happen? Plus it would've made more sense to not be spell and just be within the reach of the villains maybe with some sort of enchantment on it and they break that enchantment and then they steal the book and the enchantment is to they're able to take the book, but in class when red and go back in time they figure out a way to Enchant book themselves so it's not Merlin who did it it's them and so that's how they defeat the villains and stop the prank from happening, I think that would make way more sense because otherwise the same thing that happened would've already happened anyway and at least if it was them who enchanted the book, you know that that consequence would make more sense because otherwise what is even the point, I feel like that whole thing wasn't well thought out because there's no way that just stealing the book would stop it from happening they would've thought of something else anyway, not mention the fact that detention isn't really that bad of a punishment so they just be sitting there upset probably thinking of more pranks or more ways of getting back at Bridget anyway, also why does Bridget have pink care as a teenager and then red hair as an adult when she's both good and bad that makes no sense either, but anyway I think the whole plot really affected me, although this movie doesn't fit with the original Laura established in the previous three films and has a lot of plot holes and things, I feel like it would have less mistakes a story, even if it did break all the preestablished law like this film did, if they'd actually made the story make more sense, which it started out good and had a lot of promise but then the ending didn't make any sense at all, and I know there's gonna be a fifth film but why couldn't they have had things be a little more cohesive within the actual film itself, if you want it to be a standalone film and not fully can into the other three you still have to write a good film that actually has a good ending and makes sense and can stand alone without the fifth film, because it still needs to make sense before that film comes out but it doesn't even do that and there's so many inconsistencies with just the prank itself, which really bother me, also when it comes to the villains there are so many inconsistencies there too, also why not make it about Wonderland and have the kids from Wonderland come like why was it just red, why wasn't it Alice and the son of the mad hatter and the white rabbit like first of all the pocket watch was the white rabbits not the mad Hatters and they never explained that he got it from the white rabbit just that he made it so that makes no sense, second of all wouldn't it have been more interesting if we followed along with all of the Wonderland characters and like you Alice's daughter or son or going to the school because Hoshi obviously would be good like Alice and then you know that's how the red queen was able to take over because Alice wasn't there and all of that that would've made more sense and then have the kids in Wonderland be like three kids who follow the preestablished like we could've had for kids coming to the school and all of that stuff and then two could've stayed behind and could've gone back in time we could've had one of the princesses like we do but it could've been that go back in time so it could've been like the sun order of Alice and then red and then someone like Tiana's daughter or you know something like that instead of Cinderella's daughter because we've already kind of seen that with Chad and everything and it didn't quite make sense there, especially if you wanted it to be kind of woke or inclusive or you know a person of colour habit be like Tianna's daughter or daughter or son of Aladdin and Jasmine because then that reference would've made more sense or a number of other characters that we haven't seen yet, I just think that would've made more sense and I feel like this film didn't really care about the previous films that came before in terms of keeping it cohesive and then it also didn't make sense in terms of the film itself and that is also what really bothered me, because it felt really unfinished it felt like watching a film that had been split in half but it hadn't been altered, like the first book that comes to mind is the seventh Harry Potter book, that was split into two films and could easily have not made sense because when you split a book in half you are gonna be left with a lot of inconsistencies, but they were able to move things around so that the seventh film still had an ending before the eighth film came so it felt a little more standalone then if they hadn't done that, like obviously it's a two-parter and everybody knows that, but it's still standalone, where is this film is clearly a part with the fifth film that hasn't come out yet, but it doesn't really work as a standalone film and that's also what really bothers me

what is actually the “climax” of descendants 4 feels more like the small fight before the big buildup to confront the big bad. I genuinely had to take a walk and process the fact this movie feels that unfinished.

I feel like rise of red was super anticlimactic. I wanted them to go back to the future and her still be evil and then realise that it was accidentally Ella who did it instead or something and have to right the wrong at the homecoming dance. They could have done an amazing ending with more drama but fell flat because of timing I guess?

This is a great time to recommend Rodgers and Hammerstein's version of Cinderella. It was made in 1997 and it's a musical (same creators as Into the Woods). This is the version of Cinderella and Prince Charming you see in the fourth movie!! Cast includes Brandy, Whitney Houston and Whoopi Goldberg.
