Karl Pilkington is not a comedian but is a natural funny man. Nothing is scripted, he is just funny and a national treasure. You should check out The Rickey Gervais show, which they put an amazing cartoon to the podcasts that they were doing on XFM radio.Please please react to this show..
This is so true. I used to listen to that podcast on long drives and I swear to God I nearly crashed my car once laughing so hard. Completely unscripted and one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard in my entire life.

Karl was a radio producer that worked with Ricky and Steve Merchant. They found him hilarious and decided to bring him on their show.

Kes is a very common film shown to english kids in school, we had to write essays about it and basically pick it apart.....A working-class English boy spends his free time caring for and training his pet kestrel.....lol
Awe I couldn't understand that part. I wonder why It was only taught to English kids? Maybe we had a Scottish equivalent, I dunno?
@@dicem8977 Well, certainly not as standard I'm sure, I was never taught with it. I'm wondering what lesson it would have been, I guess Eng Lit, though I only ever remember being taught using either plays or books, though often a film adaption would be used to compliment the text (To Kill a Mockingbird and An Inspector Calls for examples).

Ricky Gervais , Stephen Merchant & Karl Pilkington is by far the funniest comedy trio in modern times . They have quite a few shows " The Ricky Gervais Show " is an animated podcast ." An Idiot Abroad " is pure genius ." The Moaning of Life " is hilarious & their most recent show " Sick of it " is funny too . Americans might remember Stephen Merchant in " The big Bang Theory " were he dated Amy for 3 episodes lol .
Carl is Ricki's life long friend, he's not a comedian. Ricki made a TV show where he sent Carl and sent him around the world to experience different cultures. It's a classic, "Idiot abroad"
True about him being a comedian but they were only really friends from about 2001/2002-2014
Learn English with Ricky Gervais and the interview meet Karl Pilkington would be a good place to start to get to know his character. Great reaction never seen this interview before but I did know that the Freak book was Karl Pilkington favourite book from the meet Karl Pilkington interview.

Yes just check out episodes of The Ricky Gervais Show. It started out as a podcast & became so popular & downloaded they made an animated TV show of it! It also features Stephen Merchant who wrote The Office with Ricky & is equally funny in pushing Karl's buttons....

Glad to see your introduction to karl pilkington, i suggest you youtube the xfm series its from when ricky and steve merchant was on the radio and karl was their produces and you can see from the very start of something special and can peice it all together from how karl even came aboit into the public eye a true diomand in the rough and then watch the actual ricky gervais show and watch karl slowly come out of his shell it really doesnt disserpoint its just gets better and better, and then once you watch idiot abroud you can really appreciate karl for who he is
Karl's favourite film "Kes" was a favourite of teachers in the north of England in the 70s and early eighties, we read the book "A Kestrel for a Knave" in class then watched the film. It was famous for its realism and brutality about a kid growing up poor, in third rate school with a neglectful family. Then he found a kestrel. You should definitely watch the Ricky gervais show with Karl Pilkington and Steve Merchant it’s all on TH-cam I believe and non copyright too.
Karl was the producer on Ricky's radio show and he simply decided that he was an idiot. Everything they've done since has basically been Ricky either in conversation with Karl or sending him around the world taking him out of his comfort zone because he knows he hates everything. Probably the best thing to watch first is The Ricky Gervais Show, where they've taken the best parts of the podcast and turned them into a cartoon in the style of The Flintstones to illustrate everything they're talking about. It may well be one of the funniest shows ever.

The Elephant Man is a heartbreaking movie based on the real life Joseph Merrick, a disfigured man who lived in 1880's London. An awesome movie but hard to watch

You'll have to check out 'Kes'. Shot in Barnsley, South Yorkshire in 1969, the film has become a cult classic. Barnsley has a very unique accent, even by Yorkshire standards, so good luck understanding what is being said.
This post was 2 years ago so you may have watched “The Rickey Gervais Show”….Frankenstein’s Lab channel has all of series 1,2 and 3 on playlists. I can’t stop laughing because the cartoons bring the podcast to life….its soooo funny.

Ricky, Karl & Steve are so funny together. This is not the best thing to watch to introduce you to Karl.
Karl isn’t a comedian, he’s just naturally funny, he thinks differently. He thinks literally. He’s a national treasure, this probably wasn’t the best introduction to him. You need to watch the animated Ricky gervais show on xfm and an idiot abroad.

Karl's outlook on life, on everything really, is very simple: I don't mean he's simple because he isn't - he's always thinking about stuff, inventions & what have you. He's done a couple or so series with Ricky Gervais and the other other called An Idiot Abroad, where they send Karl to the ends of the earth and experience life before he dies. my super power would be the ability to make people shit themselves. I can control the contents and density. Imagine someone's trying to rob you and suddenly they start exploding with spicy diarrhea, or one of those massive, rock-solid poos with jagged bits of peanut in it.
I don't think dolphins have many aquatic threats, I think humans are more of a threat than sharks in any case. I think they hold their own against sharks anyway!
I think most (certainly in Britain) know 'Pet Hate' as a general annoyance. I think Pet Peeve is used, but I feel the former is more common.
Sausages in a toaster is a bit doubtful.
