- I've tried to dig out some photos for you from before I got my dreadlocks and how they changed from 2008 through 2014. The dates are probably not totally correct, but I did my best.
I wanted to do a voiceover, but that wasn't possible for me today. I hope this suffices!
A lot of you ask about why they are so thick all of a sudden. If you take a look at 2011, you can see how short they became, because they shrunk sooo much. If you have any questions, please leave them in the comment section below!

Been wanting dreadlocks for like forever now.. and this makes me want them even more.
I'm surprised. I thought they would tighten and get thinner as time went on but the opposite happened. I really liked the way they looked in the beginning. They've gotten so short and fat recently. Your hair is still cool but I liked the way it looked when you first did them.
I did too, but that's not exactly something you can control (maybe it is to some extent, but I wouldn't want to)
Good point. If I may ask, why do your ends look so loose now? Usually the ends tighten and it's the roots that are loose.
I brushed them out on purpose. You see in beginning 201 they are just a little bit brushed out, 2013 more and I did some more this year. I like the look of loose ends far better on me :)

Ah, that's cool. I just was curious in case that was something that naturally happens to dreads sometimes.
I like the way they look now. I don't like when they're so small, And I love how you brushed out the ends, it looks amazing!

It's interesting seeing freeform locs in different hair textures. This looks wayyy different from those who have hair like mine (curlier-kinkier hair textures). Our hair would shrink up first because of the matting of the hair process then it would start to have hang time after a couple of years in. Then not only does it shrink up, it congos up too (Bob Marley locs for example). I just like seeing the differences throughout the different hair types. I don't have locs, but I'm interested in locing and going the freeform route.

I love how her dreads now aren't full head, she's got just a chunky bit in the center of her hair and the roots and ends are still loose. Does anyone know if she combs out or brushes the ends because they look really really soft

I personally like dreads more when they are tighter and neat. Otherwise, I feel it looks like you just didn't brush your hair for a week or two (like you had them near the end of the video) .

Hey Anna. Thanks for the uploads - super helpful! I just made my dreads 2 weeks ago (yay) and some of them are a bit loose in the top/middle. I noticed that you had some rubber bans in yours. Is that to keep them together? And I have lots of hair sticking out everywhere.. what to do about those? Much love!!

It looks like she already had dreads and then put synthetic ones in outside of her existing ones...hard to explain what I'm getting at....like not attached to her already existing ones, but somehow got them into areas where there wasn't one already existing. Like she used loose hairs to braid them in or something. I can't find any tutorials on how to do that. unless I'm just not seeing it right and she just wrapped the yarn around existing dreads

As I write on the picture, they shrunk a lot in 2011 and got very short of unknown reasons. Of course I didn't cut them.

Hey Lady, hope all is well. Do you have a set goal for your dreads, like having them for 10 years or a certain length? If they get too heavy are you going to remove them? Or are you just letting them do they're thing and want them as long as possible?
