Just 3 weeks ago I sold my 2013 GMC Duramax dually with 250k miles. Only problems I had were related to the ridiculous emissions system. Otherwise it was a great truck that I used as a daily driver and to pull a 5th wheel toy hauler. I decided to get a 2024 AT4 HD but went with the gas for a few reasons: 1. $10k less, 2. It’s now mated to the Allison, 3. I sold the camper and not towing anything heavy, 4. not having to deal with DEF and the overly complicated emissions system. I’m happy with it so far. I hope you get your issues worked out. These new trucks have the potential to be really good.
@@JasPlun not sure what you’re talking about but my 2013 had all the emissions systems that give diesel owners fits. DEF tank heater, filter, EGR valve, etc…..
The reduced power mode issue happened to me on my 2022 Silverado High Country. It ended up being a loose pin on a connector. Took the dealership 3 days to fix and never had an issues after that. I replaced that truck with a 2024 AT4 HD3500. It came with some pretty big issues about a week after I bought it. The upper glove box latch has a service bulletin repair that you need to have done. Exhaust leaking into the cab, cracked manifold tube, trailer brake controller malfunctions (discovered this while towing a trailer through the mountains - not fun). And now I have read that there is a service bulletin on the roof cracking. That one's a HUGE repair.
Did the exhaust leak stink of def? Been noticing that every regen the cab fills up with terrible exhaust gases.. haven’t had any more issues for 3k miles but suddenly the other day it said front end impact detected after hitting a small pot hole in the road again.. starting to think it’s a loose connection like you said.. I’m scared the air bags will deploy
@@Doingitwithcharlie just smelled like straight diesel fumes. Every time I came to a stop sign, I'd get a nice whiff of it. They changed an 02 sensor first. Then about a week later, the fumes started back up along with the check engine light. That's when they found the cracked tube.
Call GMC and file a case to replace the or buyback your truck. I just returned my 2021 2500 duramax through their buyback program. Be sure to have the dealer diagnose the problems as a matter of record. I had no problem with GMC taking back my truck. Albeit, I am assuming you live in a state that has a lemon law.
@@vinnie8495lemons have always existed you just never heard about it back then becuase social media wasn’t a thing. My dads 2001 was a piece of shit when new blown transmission electrical issues water pump etc all under 60k miles. His new 2017 was great so was his 2020 2021 and now 2024 they have never broke.
I bought a new 2023 GMC Sierra HD Duramax in November. Rear window leaked, after fighting the dealership service department it was eventually replaced just to have the new rear slider window leak as well. At 1500 miles began hearing a distinct irregular tick from the lower back of the engine. Dealer service tech claimed not to hear anything unusual. The park assist randomly shuts off while driving which disables the sensors. It would only come back on after shutting the truck off and letting it sit for a few minutes. Noticed gear oil leaking from the pinion seal on the rear differential. Just shy of 2800 miles, traded it for a new 2023 Ford F-350 PSD. Not saying Ford makes a problem free vehicle, but I’ve never had a list of issues like that with any of my past Ford trucks. That GMC can be someone else’s problem now.
You just went into the frying pan!! Debating to go back all dmax. My 2022 ford f450 lariat has had 3 sets of tires in 9k miles (finally got that fixed), fuel tank leaked at the seams, lower oil pan leaked, now its in for a upper oil pan. This Isa 10-15k job, you have to remove the cab, transmission and motor to do this. Only at 22k. Priced it at a small shop for out of warranty work and it's 8k to replace the gasket. Probably the worse designed truck on the road! Also, my transmission will get hard downshift and put in limp mode. Forgot my rear door started binding as well so that's getting fix now as well. My 2022 f350 with 8k miles driven as a car has a weird vibration in the gas pedal like something is loose. Also felt in the steering wheel. My f450 has been at shop now for 2 weeks, they say it will be another 5-6 weeks till its fixed. Then my f350 goes in.
@@krice24 i cant speak for f450, but my uncle's 2021 f250 7.3L has been problems free (knock on wood). that 7.3 is a beast, and im currently driving my 2017 f150 with 110000 miles now. problems i've had with my f150 was warped front rotors at 55k miles, bad front wheel bearings at 70k, and doors closing after the first year of owning it in 2018 (warranty). And the reason that I'm here is researching for major problems in the early stages of the sierra 2500, im in the market for HD trucks and it's only GMC vs f250.
I bought my 24' GMC Denali Ultimate in August and ive put 7k on it with no issues and I began towing with it right out of the box. Driving between Phoenix and Flagstaff. No lights or any leaks that ive noticed. Hopefully it stays that way.
I bought the 2500 Denali Ultimate. Its been in the shop 3 times in the first 3 weeks of ownership for the same issue. FCW light always come on within the first 50 miles of my trip. Yesterday all of the warning lights came on and reduced power mode kicked in. luckily I have video of all the warning lights and was able to drive it directly to the dealer with active codes.
@@RexLown yeah man I’m seeing a lot that are fine in the groups but the people having issues are identical to mine .. makes you wonder if a bad batch of ecm or wiring harnesses got into production
I bought a 24 AT4 3500 two months ago, also blacked out edition. Mine has been great so far, 5,000 miles, towed plenty of things love how it drives. Traded my 17 Denali in for it, that truck was a disaster. I was looking forward to a warranty. All these negative comments are worrying me though about this truck.
My 08 Duramax has 265k no problems so far. I had Ford , Front end death shake, then Rear oil Seal leaking, traded it on a Dodge.oofff! Transmission, front end, windshield. Back to GM. never any issue other than maintenance. I'll stick with my 08. It will outlast me and it's paid for!!
My 2024 gmc I bought in may has 1900 miles on it and has a major oil leak along with other issues. It's been down for about 2 weeks now waiting on parts but at this point, I'll probably just trade it in since the parts I need are on back order till the end of September. GMC says it is not eligible for buy back since it is just a parts delay. Its a Denali ultimate needing a new steering wheel, oil cooler, it had a paint issue, tailgate speaker issue, and went into limp mode.
That's awful. I have the 22 at4 gas roughly 6000 miles. I tow about 3500 lbs daily so no need for diesel. Mechanically great so far, but computer glitches weekly. For that kind of money I wish I found an older truck and did a crate motor! Recently had it in for oil and chip shit that I've been waiting for, only to get it back with the horn honking at me every other time I close my door ffs...so thanks for the effin update of a headache
I almost bought a 99 dually f350 7.3 manual but the guy lied about the miles it said 140k on the odometer but the carfax showed it was reset because when he bought it it had 286k already and he wasn’t the 3rd owner but the 9th
Was really considering leaving Ram for GMC. The 3500 SRW Denali Ultimate was going to replace my '20 Ram 3500 H.O. SRW since it is taking Ram forever to update the truck. But I've heard so many concerns with the 24+ Chevy/GMC HDs. Leaks, electronics, build quality, etc are major concerns. For $90K+...this shouldn't even be a thing!
As far as I can tell Ram is the only one out of Americas big 3 that hasn't gone fully "woke" the fact that they are still intent on producing big block internal combustion asphalt rippers speaks volumes. I am no financial expert, but if I were a gambling investor I would focus on Ram for the long term. Tge only way I see Ram faing is if they follow in the other big 2 footsteps and sell out to off shore doctatorial nations.
The transmission is not normal. But the upper oil pan leak is. They will have to drop your transmission and front end. And reseal the front timing cover and upper oil pan. The lower oil pan will be replaced. Jim doesn’t use enough silicone at the factory and it’s very common to have this issue. Your truck will be in the shop for a week. 95% of all L5P’s have to have that done.
Damn I know this one leaks tf off of the back of the trans where it connects to the transfer case and the engine oil seems to come from the oil pan itself… I will take notes however.. I’ve been wrong before and would like to see this truck make a flawless trip to Colorado soon and back 😂
Bar's Leaks High Mileage Power Steering Repair, 16 oz.; 12$ on amazon. Worked for me when I attempted 3 other products. an LBZ stock standard 2500. I had a stream of red fluid staining my driveway. This bars product (I believe walmart stocks it as well) worked perfectly. Did not change hoses or tubes. Nothing. I now use the best quality PS fluid I can get. No more leaks.
Search for AT4 issues on the front wheel well. There is supposed to be a wire harness that is too tight and it cause the wires to tear apart and you would get all sort of codes.
That is incredible news! This is the first time I’ve heard about this honestly… I will check it out tomorrow… it doesn’t seem to like rain and I feel like I am driving my old 300k work truck with all these odd issues
I have heard several people that have had trouble out of the GMC serra AT4 model. One guy said its been in the dealership garage over half of the time that he owned it.
Purchased a 2024 GMC 2500 with the Duramax in Jun '23. Had been a Ford guy forever but liked the look of the GMC's. At around 1,000 miles the check engine light came on. Soon after that the airbag warning light came on. We were just leaving on a trip to Colorado with our RV. Dealership had me come in and they cleared the codes and said must have been a "software glitch". While on the trip the warning lights came on again. Not a good feeling so far from home and pulling an RV in the mountains! Long story short after three trips back to dealership and almost a month total in a loaner vehicle they finally got it ironed out. Service department claimed to have found where a battery leaked into a wiring harness. QC is not what it used to be, and I'm hearing similar stories with a lot of new vehicles, not just GMC. Truck now has 10K on it and (knock on wood) has been mechanically sound - runs, drives and pulls great. There are some quirks with it though, including a rattle/ vibration behind the dash that's very annoying and I can't pinpoint. Turning up the radio is the only fix at this time. Outside mirrors rattle bad on a bumpy road, the Alexa app talks to us unprompted, and don't ever forget to take your hitch out if you use that Multipro tailgate step. What idiot engineers designed that? Hope you get your issues lined out.
Any more issues? I'm looking at the new gmcs. There sharp forsure. Owned superdutys my whole life but other then the seats being 10x more comfortable in the superduty. The interior quality is bad imo. And I want a steel truck lol
@@aaronphillips2728 Nothing major. Just got it back from shop for 4 recalls. I’ll never buy a vehicle immediately after a major change. Maybe give them a year or so to work out all the bugs. Especially in this day of so much electrical programming. Truck drives and pulls great! That being said I’m probably going back to Ford on my next one in a few years. I like the tremor packages they have out now.
I am sorry you are having these issues, but this has actually been happening since the 2020 HD diesels. I just traded my 2022 denali 2500 HD diesel for a new gasser. My dealers service manager told me he is frustrated with GM. He invited me to take a stroll through the service department. The service department is full of HD truck diesels in various states of disrepair. Mine was in the shop for 5 weeks. Now back and still runs terrible. I traded it with only 12,000 miles. My sales guy said nearly 90% of the 2024 diesels that he has sold have all been back for repairs in less than 150 miles. How is that for quality. Good luck.
I have a 2024 silverado 2500 ltz duramax, after 450 miles it started having emission system problems, its been sitting at the dealer for over a month now and still waiting for the part, ridiculous!
I have had my 2024 GMC AT4 3500 diesel since April. By far the best HD truck I have owned, and this is my 4th HD truck. The only issue is the tire sensors for my trailer will not stay connected to the truck's sensor module for display. It tows like a madman!! This is the only HD truck I have owned that I would say is a keeper!!. This time around, I looked really hard at the Dodge HD trucks, it just could not compare and the ride was awful, just awful. Very happy with my decision to get this truck.
Interested to see your next video. Sold my 2021 Duramax after 10 months for these exact reasons. Too much computer dependence, and obnoxious emission controls. For less than $30k you can get a low mileage older diesel with fewer emissions. All the cameras and sensors are producing a class of people that can't drive without staring at the screen.
Gotta agree on the camera thing I have been using my mirrors to back In for the month and a half mostly because my dad smashed the fucking screen in because of how slow the response time is and two I honestly need to get good at backing in without the assist camera all the time now I know it's a car not a truck but it's a start I have only been driving for the last 3 month now
I know a guy that bought his diesel and it's been a good 5, 6 years but he deleted everything. He is an industrial engineer and a bit on the spectrum but he said he hated it so much that he could not allow it warranty voided or not.
@@Doingitwithcharlie I restored the interior, About to finish the smog delete and put some 33’s on it. Also clear coat the patina. Besides that she is in good shape for the age and miles.. i do concrete and it was sitting in the field at one of my slabs. Ask the guy what he was doing with it and he said he was going to donate to the church or the high school , asked if he wanted to Donate to me lol. He did. Probably have around $1200 into so far. Last year we had like 4 feet of snow , everyone was stuck and i was smashing buy in that old ford , it was hilarious.
I wish I kept my 99 Cummins it was a beast but I had poor priorities in life at that time .. no rust perfectly mint paid 4500 for it with 139k miles but I sold it because I wanted a dirt bike 😂
Bought one last week. 2024 2500HD LTZ Z71 and it went into limp mode driving at 35 MPH. Same issues you described, minus leaks (so far). I had 308 miles on it with the same issues you described. This thing feels like a LEMON so far. Love the truck otherwise, but can't tow with it with these issues......
I got a new 3500 AT4 Duramax coming hopefully in a month or so...I will think that there is a chance that a truck from any manufacturer could have a issues...hopefully the dealer will take care of it quickly...I am not crazy about all the electronics and computer systems they have on them so a extended warranty is a must...especially if you plan on keeping it for years and years like I plan on doing..
I have a 24 Duramax LTZ with 9500miles on it and no issues to report. Sorry for those that have them, and maybe it’s my turn next but so far so good for me. Fingers crossed.
My turbo went out at 2,100 while hauling my camper. Two months at the dealership. At least they gave me a loaner of the same kind. 2024 2500 Silverado High County
I bought a 2023 1500 AT4 LZO Duramax four weeks ago, and after the first 10 days 400 miles I was left stranded on I-4 heading back to Tampa. The EGT sensor went out and seized up my engine. Had to have the truck towed in and waited a week to get a new EGT sensor. Needless to say I’m very disappointed in this truck so far and have been left a very bad taste in my mouth over the whole issue. I’m trying to be optimistic, but I’m already thinking of either selling to trading this truck. For what GM charges for these AT4’s this should not be happening. Sorry to hear about your situation with your new truck. Hope it all gets better for you.
@@Doingitwithcharlie I had a 22 sierra At4 with 3.0 deisel. After 22000 miles I traded It for ram 2500 cummins. The great gas milage of the 3.0 was not worth the aggravation of all the crap that went wrong with it. It was a covid specialand came with heated wheel deleted , but to be installed at a later date for free. 19 months after I bought it, still no retrofit. Local dealer has 30+ new trucks on lot with heated wheels. Once GM gets your money they don't give a rat's ass about you.
My 22 ct4-v is still waiting while they sell 24 models with them I get it I’m sure there is a 25 on the assembly line with one .. at least the warranty will fix or they will buy back “not including the attorney “
Im sorry to be the barer of bad news but it will continue to disappoint you. You could read my comment it this feed. I have felt your pain and it sucks. It makes me pissed that they put all this great feature's in these trucks except reliability. WTF! I retired at 55 and have owned some really expensive trucks my last one was a 2019 Ford Raptor and dumped it due to cam phaser issues. The dealer was going to rip my engine apart and install the same defective parts. I said no thanks sold it and bought a 2021 old school v8 Tundra. Been doing lots of traveling only do oil changes. Good luck God Bless
Just stumbled across your video. Sorry to hear about your troubles. I purchased a 2024 Denali ultimate back in may. Realized shortly after I was leaking oil. Dealer said it was coming from the oil cooler. Supposed to get repaired after a 10 week wait for parts. Gm wouldn’t pay for a vehicle while I waited so I just drove it all summer. Put about 6k miles no other issues yet. Good luck with yours.
I have the 2020 gmc 2500 sierra just the normal one and it’s at almost 200k right now and has never failed us it’s been in the shop once because it had a emergency brake electrical issue but other than that it’s had no problems and we use it for a lot as a work truck and a personal vehicle to pull our boat but it pushes a plow in the winter too. And we don’t have the problems with the seat openings being so wobbly. Honestly I’m glad with our decision the Denali and at4 just aren’t worth the absurd extra cost.
I have a close customer that I do lots of work on his property for many years and always gets a new GMC truck and live at the dealer on recalls. My room mate gave up on his 2022 Duramax and told the dealer to take the truck back after 6 months of headaches. I myself am on third F150 that I always end up running 300k and this latest one I got will probably be my last truck I'll ever own since the these 2015 4x4 coyotes 5.0 run 3k engine and transmission on eBay and forget all that new crap that has more chip than any server and full of trash bridle parts
I have a 2017 Suburban Premier replaced transmission in February 23. Had a 2015 gmc transmission went out 8/23. Went and got a new f250 lariat! If you want to work on your truck and spend a lot of money and time buy GM. My Chevy 2500 van is a beast but is basic. Other than that I switched to Ford! Way better and Fast
I have a 2021 L5P, had a tranny leak seems like ever since I bought the truck. It was always wet at the peep hole cover but never had a drip on my driveway. I would always wipe it off when doing an oil change. I took it to the dealer at 45000 miles and they changed a few gaskets at the torque converter. No leaks as of 1000 miles later.
A buddy of mine bought a new ford dually platinum. Didn't even have 200 miles on it and had to take it back to the dealership for a rear main seal leak!
Oh shit just bought the same only a midnight high country…500 miles so far and will be checking all to coordinate with you…please keep me advised…88k also
So far it is behaving after the dealer… however I hate the regens I talked with my agent at motor ops he said he will let me know asap about weight loss and hopefully I will be the first to post on that
Hey man they will take care of you for sure if you happen to have any problems.. I have a lot of friends with these and it seems like the diesel ones have some issues but they get worked out
@@Doingitwithcharlie I hope so lol I've actually been seeing alot of people having issues mainly with the emissions systems. Nothing too crazy or out of the ordinary
@@Doingitwithcharlieas nice as GmC? To each their own, but the last 10 years of Gm trucks have been the most hideous looking trucks on the road. The ford and Cummins are far superior to GMC in every way possible. Gm is at the bottom. Everything about this 2500 looks out of place exaggerated and just plain goofy looking. Like the tow trucks from Disney cars. I hope you get your issue resolved. maybe you will have to trade up for a Cummins or F250
I’ve had my 2500 for two years and have had the trans valve body swapped out two times because my truck jerks when it comes to a stop. Love the truck but spending that much money shouldn’t come with the problems a lot of us have had
Bought my 2024 AT4 2500 Duramax and drove it home. With 60 miles on the truck I came out to find a puddle of oil on my driveway. Dealer sent a flatbed to get it a week ago and we are waiting on a "galley plug".
I hotshot and i bought a 2019/2020 1ton put some hard ass miles on it no issues traded at 120k in milage. Brought a 2022 3500 SRW only had it about a year with 60k on the clock currently it's been ran hard as hell as well with no issues what's so ever and just put in a order for a AT4X HD. I'm not sure what the hell some of you guys are doing to get these issues with your trucks? But i guess there's factory duds out there just like there is solid factory gems you keep forever with no issues. Hate to hear about your new truck brotha i promise GM has a great platform hopefully they'll get it fixed..
The leak is a bit concerning. The lights on the dash and what not I wouldn’t worry about if it seams to have resolved. However, a new vehicle shouldn’t give those kinds of problems! That being said at least it should be covered under warranty
The warranty is great ! But it falls short when parts aren't available, and wait times turn into months , while paying bi-weekly payments and monthly subscription fees! I'm going on 7 weeks waiting on a steering rack for a 2023 1500 ZR2. Funny part GM has me in a 2022 ram as a loaner , wasn't a ram person, but I am enjoying it!
I left Ram, had 3 from 2010 to 2022 and never an issue with my Rams. Always wanted a Denali so grabbed a refreshed 22 Sierra Denali in January. Super disappointed in the build quality and regret not staying with Ram. Have had a slew of minor problems with mine that is just enough to make me no longer want it.
I will give this truck the benefit of doubt and say it’s breaking In because it has been behaving much better as miles go on … it has another dealership appointment coming in 300miles to see if everything is ok .. I do notice it is now just dripping transmission fluid slightly the oil has seemingly tapered off… but when I get it back from the dealer I will know the verdict and post a new full length video on this matter
2017 Silverado owner here, 6.2 + 8 speed, I like the truck but man I dislike the transmission, started the dreaded chevy shake just after warranty expired, wanted to change to another model but apparently all new trucks have issues as well its like a damn russian roulette so it kinda sucks to pay such high prices for lower build quality, your ford van brings that point home, I regret wrecking my 99 expedition, more than 200 k miles and just a timing chain fix in all of its life.... Buying a new car really sucks now :( Hoping everything works out for you, great looking rig!
Let me know if the dealer took care of this. Even so, now the brand new truck has been ripped apart! I wouldn’t have any confidence in it and would want to sell it! Now you have to just hope you get a good mechanic to do the work!!!!!
It was fine after the dealer did whatever they did .. they said they didn’t do anything and it was probably a glitch… either way I sold it and got a 96 f250
Except the Tundra is having its own set of problems with its engine. machining debris left in engine possibly leading to engine replacement via recall. All the manufacturers are screwing up.
Same question here, I have a 2024 high country silverado 2500HD and it's at the dealer for a trans fluid leak. Also where the xfer case meets the xmission or possibly a cooler line that runs by there.
@@standurst8762 this is interesting. I know the earlier duramax trucks even dating back to 2001 has trans cooler lines that were prone to leaking. Makes me wonder if that's the case here or something else. Seems to be a common thing with the 24s leaking too. Such a nice truck, hopefully GM does the right thing. But time will tell.
Also same issue. Just bought 2024 AT4 HD Diesel and looks like I have the very same leaking issue. Drove it home and saw fluid dripping on the ground. Only 305 miles in. Also really curious to know how it was fixed.
I've got an 06 GMC Sierra 2500 HD gas going with 300,000 mi on the clock for the body the engine has been replaced and stronger bands to the transmission with the new 4x4 t case
I have the cash but can’t justify parting ways with $90k and where interest rates are today can’t justify. I’ve been looking at these but just the few things you’ve pointed out makes me not want one even more
@@Doingitwithcharlie I need a write off too. Meeting Friday with my CPA. Just hate it’s a depreciating asset but I also look at it as receiving a 33% discount because anything above that I’d have to pay to the government. And I’ll Be damned if I do that
Man I have a 2024 AT4 and had all kinds of problems. I had a bent wheel from the factory that they wouldn’t even warranty. Said it was tires. But someone else found a bent wheel and GMC wouldn’t help me. Had my power steps going up and down up and down riding down the road. Had my radio completely stop and wouldn’t not work, key fobs not working, all Kinds of crazy stuff. I miss my FORD
I own a 2019 Gmc I have had transmission problems since day one 🙃 they always got the answer for everything they do not wanna admitt there transmissions are junk
Sorry your having Problems with your truck it can drive you Insane dealing with all these problems. I bought a 2020 Ram 2500 with the Cummins and the last year I owned it I had it at the Dealership for almost 4 months over all the Government Enforced Emissions on the truck that the Dealer couldn't fix I traded it in at 35000 miles on it and got a Ram with the 6.4 Hemi and so for no problems. If you Lemon Law it don't wait to long you have 1 year and 12000 miles to do it. Good Luck.
I have a 2020 High Country 2500 Duramax with 83k. Went into limp mode and all that shaking with all those dash lights. Had no idea what the hell was happening. Found out it was fuel injector #4 connector which is apparently a known issue. Luckily it was covered under the “GM” 6yr/100k factory warranty. For whatever reason, this is the only fuel injector that does this. Just throwing it out there because I’m not sure if GM has resolved this problem on the new Duramax’s.
Wow. Not good for that money. Makes me think twice now. Been thinking about getting into one of these but in GAS not diesel after driving two Tacomas since 2001 , they are incredibly reliable. Tundra would be my preference for reliability but I’m not crazy about the look. Hope you get things taken care of.
Okay but the gas 6.6 is not as good of an engine as the 6.6 duramax so thinking this truck is not good for the money… you’ll be even more let down with the 6.6 V8
One reason I traded my 2020 off for a 2024 6.2 AT4X....Def issues for the last couple years. Truck drove fine however didn't feel like I could rely on it for much longer. Getting truck serviced under warranty was a pain too because of mechanic shortages for diesels as well as parts. I owned 3 F250s and never had problems with them mechanically (especially def!) they just drove rougher and my 2017 f250 had the death wobble as the reason for getting my 20202 GMC At4 Duramax. Emissions suck on all diesels however GM seems to have unresolved issues on there's that Fords do not. I hope I don't regret getting a gas again after 11yrs just figured it would be less maintenance. My GMC did get get good fuel economy but the in town driving isn't good for diesels at least GM diesels.
"I shouldn't have these problems on an $88,000 truck!". "Never should happen on a $94,000 truck." I hate to break it to you, but part of the problem is, you shouldn't pay $88k or $93k for a pickup truck. Keep it real, folks. Stop and think about what you are doing.
I thought it over for years and did it to get a big tax break and have a dependable vehicle for the fleet .. however so far dependable is not in the sentence anymore lol
I was recently traded in my GMC Denali with 24k miles. I had a starting problem that happened periodically from within a month of having the truck! The dealership could never figure it out and suggested I trade it in before I really had problems! I miss my truck and frankly don’t like my new car, other than it starts! I hope GMC can do better with the mechanical issues and customer service! These new vehicles are way to expensive to have so many problems!!!
Sorry to hear about your new ride but you definitely have a lemon, like any other automaker it happens and unfortunately you got one. I have a 2022 second-half refresh with the 3L duramax and have over 30,000 miles on it and not a single problem. Unfortunately you were unlucky and got one. I really hope you can work it out with the dealership and manufacturer to get it resolved.
My 23’ Silverado leaked 3qts of transmission fluid day after I bought it brand new. Was just a bad gasket but still. Bought it Saturday, they’re closed Sundays so had to miss a day of work to get my brand new truck fixed. The QC line at GM is garbage. We want jobs in America, then do a GOOD FUCKING JOB. Y’all line workers don’t give a fuck. They can pay someone 1/4 in another country that cares more about quality… Stand behind your truck and see if the bed lines up with the cab. Mine don’t and now I look at all trucks I see and ONLY on GM trucks I see beds that are one side or the other. Haven’t seen one ford, Toyota or ram were their beds don’t line up with the cab
i feel your pain, my brand new gmc serria 2021 i bought has been trouble. at 17000 miles they had to replace mt entire engine because the so called bad lifters broke and damaged my cam shaft. i will not be keeping this truck out of warranty. may never buy another gm product. they should be out on strike for garbage quality not low pay. and now my transmission is shifting weird at only 24000 miles . it will break before too long.
I have A 2022 AT4 2500. AC is a mess and stopped working at 24k miles. I had bad vibrations while turning slow for about 500 miles and then it stopped. The parking assist shuts off by itself and turns off the setting. The parking break warning light comes on randomly but nothing is wrong with it. The worst is the AC by far and even when it was brand new, the AC was horrible.
Sucks to hear brother. I have a ‘24 2500 at4 with 5k on it. Thankfully no issues this far. About 1500 of those miles was towing our boat (14k lbs) without any issues. My only complaint is the typewriter tick but that’s typical.
Such a disappointment…I have a 2019 (purchased new) Tacoma Off Road 4x4 with 250k (a lot in 4 wheel drive)…totally trouble free. I’m looking adding a full size…probably going to get a Tundra.
Also have a '24 2500HD AT4 6.6L L8T gasser. LOVE IT. Zero issues.
Hope OP gets his issues resolved quickly.

Be sure to have the dealer diagnose the problems as a matter of record. I had no problem with GMC taking back my truck. Albeit, I am assuming you live in a state that has a lemon law.

I understand that! I hope I don’t have to go through the same thing

Duramax is excellent.. but the new emissions and all the tons of tech they stuff into the newer ones make em suck

Unfortunately it is and I’m finding out .. my buddy has a 22 and says it is perfect
My 24 has 3k on it, I haven’t had any issues yet… I love it so far.

That sucks

Everything about this 2500 looks out of place exaggerated and just plain goofy looking. Like the tow trucks from Disney cars.
I hope you get your issue resolved. maybe you will have to trade up for a Cummins or F250
Ya never know 😂 I love all three brands just different years
@@Doingitwithcharlie Ya a ford truck ride is terrible! Had to go with the GMC Denali.
I’ve had my 2500 for two years and have had the trans valve body swapped out two times because my truck jerks when it comes to a stop. Love the truck but spending that much money shouldn’t come with the problems a lot of us have had
Exactly and yeah that sucks
GM's customer service has improved a lot and I hope they will help you....
Thanks!
@@Doingitwithcharliehas it been fixed yet?
@@andrewevans7992 yeah I sold it
@@Doingitwithcharlie nice man
Bought my 2024 AT4 2500 Duramax and drove it home. With 60 miles on the truck I came out to find a puddle of oil on my driveway. Dealer sent a flatbed to get it a week ago and we are waiting on a "galley plug".
Yay lol that sucks
Same story for my 23 at4. I thought they would’ve fixed it for the new 24s but that’s wack they just ignored the problems.
Really? Wow everyone keeps telling me it’s a 24 thing
I get it man my buddy has the same truck just 2 years older he runs it hard and has had no problems except the dpf or def had issues
The leak is a bit concerning. The lights on the dash and what not I wouldn’t worry about if it seams to have resolved. However, a new vehicle shouldn’t give those kinds of problems! That being said at least it should be covered under warranty
Absolutely!
@@robqwertyuipp8750 exactly!!
I get intimidated looking under the hood with all the damn electrical stuff
Best looking interior but questionable reliability. I want to love GM but I hate how they cheap out especially based on what they charge.
Buying a new car really sucks now :(
Hoping everything works out for you, great looking rig!
Man nothing like an older diesel.. I’m on the hunt for a hidden gem still
@@Doingitwithcharlie a manual zf6 with the lb7 duramax in good shape!
Same boat. 4 weeks at the dealer
That sucks I sold mine last week
Let me know if the dealer took care of this. Even so, now the brand new truck has been ripped apart! I wouldn’t have any confidence in it and would want to sell it! Now you have to just hope you get a good mechanic to do the work!!!!!
It was fine after the dealer did whatever they did .. they said they didn’t do anything and it was probably a glitch… either way I sold it and got a 96 f250
If that happens in a Toyota it's just a glitch.
I was between GMC and Tundra but after watch your video I’m decided go to Tundra better.Thank you Bro.
Yota all day❤
Except the Tundra is having its own set of problems with its engine. machining debris left in engine possibly leading to engine replacement via recall. All the manufacturers are screwing up.
@@imarickjames that sucks man
I guess ill stick with my 75 K5 Blazer lol. I was thinking of selling it and buying a new Truck.
Well I’d be hesitant to get a diesel but I’m getting some good news and I’ll upload everything soon
Same issue with my 2024 AT4 already had a new transmission installed at 21,000 miles
@@shirleymartin4683 good lord man! Glad I got some old school diesel trucks now
Just curious how things are going with the truck now? I have the fever for another duramax but this has me a bit concerned.
I’ll be uploading soon …..life gets in the way sometimes unfortunately haha
@@Doingitwithcharlie sure do appreciate you sharing information like this. It helps everyone. Have a good one and be safe.
Hell yeah the old dirtymax is the way to go
I think it’s just a freak thing. My AT4 has been great. GM will make it right
Year? Diesel?

It’s still new. But no issues at all. No leaks no heating issues
That’s great
Keeping my old school diesel. Forever ❤

I have the cash but can’t justify parting ways with $90k and where interest rates are today can’t justify. I’ve been looking at these but just the few things you’ve pointed out makes me not want one even more
I needed a write off 😂 but got it at 5% interest and put a lot down
@@Doingitwithcharlie I need a write off too. Meeting Friday with my CPA. Just hate it’s a depreciating asset but I also look at it as receiving a 33% discount because anything above that I’d have to pay to the government. And I’ll Be damned if I do that
Id rather gm burn it than the ir and s get a dime
Man I have a 2024 AT4 and had all kinds of problems. I had a bent wheel from the factory that they wouldn’t even warranty. Said it was tires. But someone else found a bent wheel and GMC wouldn’t help me. Had my power steps going up and down up and down riding down the road. Had my radio completely stop and wouldn’t not work, key fobs not working, all
Kinds of crazy stuff. I miss my FORD
Yeah my mirrors do that on occasion as well
Sucks for real I think I may transition to another less finicky truck
Welcome to Silverado land. These things are endless problems. IMO GM quit making reliable trucks 20years ago. I baby mine in the hopes it’ll last.

Another guy had this same problem. Updated the "computer" and it fixed all of it. Did that work for you??
It fixed the limp mode bs but waiting for the dealer to explain the leaks
Definately looking forward to an update!
I will let everyone know when I know ❤
Sorry your having Problems with your truck it can drive you Insane dealing with all these problems. Good Luck.
Good advice!

You are but how smart you are for sure
I have a 2020 High Country 2500 Duramax with 83k. Went into limp mode and all that shaking with all those dash lights. Had no idea what the hell was happening. Found out it was fuel injector #4 connector which is apparently a known issue. Luckily it was covered under the “GM” 6yr/100k factory warranty. For whatever reason, this is the only fuel injector that does this. Just throwing it out there because I’m not sure if GM has resolved this problem on the new Duramax’s.
Damn that makes sense
Wow. Not good for that money. Makes me think twice now. Been thinking about getting into one of these but in GAS not diesel after driving two Tacomas since 2001 , they are incredibly reliable. Tundra would be my preference for reliability but I’m not crazy about the look.
Hope you get things taken care of.
It seems to be working itself out but it’s going back to the stealership in 300miles for service
I don’t have emissions anymore thank god
My f250 is deleted however I was conflicted on deleting my GMC AT4 due to cost....I guess I had it with all the issues. Good luck.
Beautiful truck!
It sure is!
I just bought one today. Hope I don’t have any problems.
I hope GM made it right for you bud. Cause im looking at a new one as we spesk and its videos like this that give me second thoughts
@@kiprose2921 they gave it back and the problems were gone but they said they couldn’t find anything.. seemed odd
Yeah they’ve gone down hill for sure as far as dependability
Holy crap!
i feel your pain, my brand new gmc serria 2021 i bought has been trouble. at 17000 miles they had to replace mt entire engine because the so called bad lifters broke and damaged my cam shaft. i will not be keeping this truck out of warranty. may never buy another gm product. they should be out on strike for garbage quality not low pay. and now my transmission is shifting weird at only 24000 miles . it will break before too long.
Lord that sucks! I’m thinking of getting an older Cummins and restoring it
Other than being a piece of SHIT...its a really good truck😂😂😂... i wouldn't admit that I paid 88 thousand dollars for it.....
This paperweight is a great 88k tax write off 😂
I have A 2022 AT4 2500.
Holy shit
I don’t get why people pay so much money for trash.
Well it’s a great write off 😂
Sucks to hear brother. I have a ‘24 2500 at4 with 5k on it. Thankfully no issues this far. About 1500 of those miles was towing our boat (14k lbs) without any issues. My only complaint is the typewriter tick but that’s typical.
Sounds like a lifter tick when in gear but put it in park it becomes like a typewriter
Such a disappointment…I have a 2019 (purchased new) Tacoma Off Road 4x4 with 250k (a lot in 4 wheel drive)…totally trouble free.
