Hi Phil I sent you an email up some time ago regarding a machine I was looking at buying long story short I got a quick turn 10n atc m/c but it won't power up. Glad to see you are posting videos again.
@@mazatroltipsandtricks6816 yes I checked that. When I received the machine all the boards were falling ot of the rack and everything was lose the shipping company did me bad and put it on a flat bed trailer and pickup truck and I got beat up going down the road. At this point I'm looking at Retro fitting it.
We cut slugs. We can get three pieces off of one slug. I had to restart the machine. I have one more piece to make. My question is, how do you restart to cut that last part?
The only way I know how to do it is to just copy the program and set a new Z workshift for the one part and do not have the end process do any looping. That way you do not have to adjust the original program for one part.
@@mazatroltipsandtricks6816 sir can I have your email or WhatsApp? I wanna show you the drawing and learn from you how to created the square in middle of the shaft
Hi Phil, thanks so much for these videos! I am looking to purchase a mayzack with T plus control. Do you happen to know if the programming works the same on that control as it does on the older T2 and T3 controls?
@@mazatroltipsandtricks6816 i thought so but how do i make my tool stay still ?? right now i can make threads if you know what i mean? the tool wants to go left and right as C rotates
Thanks Phil for another learning experience. Gotta say though, wouldn't EIA be better? .025" ramp to depth each direction, no extracting tool each step, and when it reaches final depth, just a zero cut back and forth. Would Mazatrol allow you to do that. Me too, no Y axis, I guess should invest in end mill grinder so I can undersize the roughing mills like .015" diam or just order them from Mari like that? One lesson I learned all these years is that Frank makes unbeatable cutting tools.
Hey Phil. Lucky Man to be able to Mill on a CNC Lathe. Definitely something I would like to have as part of a Lathe. A big time saver if you have this option available. Unfortunately it's over to the CNC Mill for all my Milling work post Turning. I had thought about upgrading to a Turn Mill, but I don't really have enough of this sort of work to justify it, even as much as it would be Very handy. A great option to have on any CNC Lathe. Thanks for the video. Peter 👍
Thanks Peter. This is a very early machine with live tooling. It is limited to what it can do as it does not have a Y-axis. Newer machines are truly bad ass.
Hello doc. I have been on and off of mazak tools for a long time. Good to see and older controller like yours keep up the good work.
Thank you.

Make sure the transformer is set to the correct incoming voltage you are feeding it. Also make sure the phasing is correct.

Thanks.. Is everything the same for a new QT series? I am curious..
any idea why in the knife correction I do not want to pick up mazatrol t2?
Not sure what you mean.
I use translator. it will be hard to explain

Can you show us something about automatic tool wear compensation please?
My machine will switch to an alternate tool if tool life is exceeded but I've never used it before.

Yes the programming is basically the same. The T+ has more features but it will run the same as my videos.
hey Phil how would you put a groove with an endmill all around a part ??/ would that be a ZC operation? or ZY ??
ZC if you spin the chuck 360 degrees.

@@christophercolumbus8944Keep Z position the same. Do not put in any CW or CCW moves just linear moves.
@@mazatroltipsandtricks6816 that makes total sense haha
18:22 maybe you shouldn't cut like that ? the way you're holding the od holder
what's the point anyway?
Thank you teacher
how can I change the language of the machine

Not all machines of this era had EIA programming. However, you can write a MMP manual milling process to do what you propose.
