Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us viewers. Sometimes at work we run 0.4mm endmill at 4000RPM on an old MAHO CNC mill. Surprising the tool life you can get from top cutter manufacturing companies like yourself in unfavourable situations.

Another great episode. Good stuff! The deflection graphic putting the end mill in a shell/face mill holder made me laugh.

That was a fantastic presentation for proper micro-tool usage! I've found over the years with lesser tools that runout kills them faster than anything else including stick out. On those you have to use roughly the same stick-out that was used when they were originally ground to eliminate the runout presumably because cheap blanks that weren't as straight were used in their manufacture.

Great work Don! You slayed me with the intro, and the deflection and runout talk are appreciated!

I recently restocked endmills and I was thinking of you mentioning prefering 4F end mills if they are miniature and now this video? This is my christmas gift! Thanks for the videos...

The stick out equation must apply to the actual length of the cutting tool, itself, not the stick out of the collet diameter, no?

I like when they put the man in the drill flute. That's just good editing.
