Agreed, in past interviews R. Gauld openly states over the interview that he would openly and seriously consider playing for Team Canada if he was approached. The only downfall is he won't eligible until months of the 26 WC...That's not much time

I think the biggest factor that nobody is discussing is that this match will be with A/C. I might be wrong, but I think Canada's sketchy performances against Peru and Chile as because of the heat. Let's see if I'm right?

This isn't the first time they've played in hot temps as a national team. Not a good excuse. Argentina was strong showing and of course Peru match was scorching but you're speaking as if they've never played in the US in the summer months. Every gold cup is there, at this time and those matches in the Caribbean/Central American heat and humidity would be no easier

@@mig3598 I'm not using hot temps as an excuse, but can you not recognize that some players, and thus some teams, don't handle heat as well as others? I think Canada doesn't play well in very hot humid climates, regardless of how often they've been exposed to it. You seem to think that just because they've been there before they can adapt 100%. Wrong. I think the L American teams thrive in those conditions and Canada does not. We will see...

@@djknox2 I’m not saying because they’ve played there, they can adapt. I’m saying don’t make excuses of sketchy performances because of heat. That’s like opposition fans not giving credit to Canada for some of Canada’s strongest showings in World Cup qualifiers because of extreme cold that other teams are not accustomed to. At the end of the day, both teams are playing under same conditions on the day and have to factor that into their game plan

@@mig3598 Sorry but you're not very bright. A factor in Canada beating the Mexico and the USA in Qatar 2022 qualifying was the matches being played through winter. Duh. Canada always struggles against Central American teams when they play in those countries under extreme heat. But they also normally walk over the same teams when playing in cooler climates. Its not an excuse, it's a reality.
