But with that charged attack 15% would focused strike be considered a charge move? Or urgency? Or are those even decent moves to dedicate a slot to your build for?
God damn, right when I respecced my character from a tonfa odachi build to your kusarigama build you drop the tonfa build lol. And those mountain breaker hops over the sweep attacks were soooo sweet

@@lykast1 I was working on a Switch-glaive build, but abandoned it for this one as this was just so much better, so I'm unlikely to go back to Switch-glaive until maybe the DLC, which will hopefully bring things to improve the build possibilities.
This makes me want to try tonfa. I almost always run high speed glass builds in games, so I won't be running this specific build, but those sick evades looked right up the alley of cool things I will attempt and fail to do.

I am building towards this build now, I have the gear but I miss the "Devastation increase dmg" trait. But let me just say wow, what a fun build, I thought it would be very difficult to build a tanky (more or less immortal) and high dmg build, a really good job to you.

Indeed. I really dislike these braindead cheese builds cus they make the fun enemy combat design obsolete. But I don't mind when others use these builds since all I want is for them to enjoy this amazing franchise.
first build outside of switchglaive that I've enjoyed. Im only level 150 or so and dont have the yasakani yet or have the right soul cores and using a lightning weapon. Still melts everything I'm coming across in ng+. I did opt for 30 magic as I like the extra spell slots for some sloth, protection, barrier talismans until I can get the build fully operational. If you plan on updating the build due to the recent Tengen changes, he still works well however I've switched to the new DLC spirit Ho and had nothing but good results from it.
I am missing devastation and defense or attack based on courage/constatution. Using skill damage and ki+ and ki reductions as a replacement. Core I use instead of the bottom: using otekamaru core for emergencies. Using it in ng++ and works like a charm. Loving it!!
not too different from my build except i just use 5 piece warriror of the east with 3 piece bold and borish. same spirits and cores. I went for the wise mans pill box for my second accessory though because it rolls the life gain on amrita absorbtion. I also have one of my bold and borish as the hatchets so I can use all ablaze for the speed/attack buff. frees up that onmyo spot where carnage would be (at least for me) for rejuvenation talisman. Like the vid, and love this game.
Sick build - I'm running very similar with red demon set and have more magic than dex. I have twin dragon tonfa's with fire damage, might see if I can utilize the same armour as your build and try with fire first, otherwise will switch to water.
should I just level up however and then think about speccing into a build once in NG+ or something? I would like to play Tonfa a lot, but for the sake of learning the game I'm going for levelling build with a lot of equip load for heavier armour and using an axe. I don't usually like bigger weapons as much, but thought I'd try it out as I almost always go for dex weapons. I played the first game a bit, and I think I liked the tonfa and the Kuri the best. I think there are newer weapons here I've never used before as well though so I probably should try them all out at least. Great game. Took me a while to start it due to backlog of games, and also being a bit intimidated by the options.
Nikeon Oui I use the one eyed dragon set with trident vajra helmet. To get the full set bonus add the dual swords for the set, candlestick slicer and yasakani ofcourse. My main weapon is tonfa with purity. Cowboy has a vid up on the build...it’s not like this but it’s close 👍🏾

Actually the only reason I even run demon horde is because it's the lightest of the heavy armors, meaning I don't have to invest fully into stamina. If you don't mind using medium armor or mixing it up with 2 pieces of heavy, you can actually make anything you want. All you NEED armor wise is the head piece and 2 piece Oni-Shibata for the build to remain intact. So feel free to experiment, just keep an eye on your equipment weight as you want to hit B agility.
@@shawnmcculloch2930 I ended up going with kingos. No real synergy but it's light and gives decent boost to life. I was looking at samurai general non set, but it was too heavy for my liking. For now I'm still leveling my courage/con so I'll stick with kingos for the foreseeable future.
@@profoundresolve this build is not that good honestly. Heavy armor and stacking any skill on the pieces will do this. Requires too much stamina investment for a build that thrives on mobility
Great build video! I'm also working on a tonfa build that relies heavily on devastation so I'll definitely be adding devastation damage thanks to your video. Also, I noticed you have defence bonus(courage) on your 2 accessories, I also tried that but when I checked the complete stats menu, defence bonus(courage) was only a B, so I don't think it can be added up. You could instead use something else for one of your accessories.

I farmed revenants in well known trading spots until I found one. After that I asked a friend to come online, dropped them for him. Then he put them on and dropped them for me.

Just one quick question: are there any adjustments I need to make to this build now? Or is it just fine as is? It's been about a year, so I figured I'd ask before really committing. Also, this is rather insignificant but, do you remember what starting weapons/guardians you picked for this? I know 3 stat points don't REALLY matter, but I'm weird about it. Thanks for the content!

I am missing a lot of details about this build such as: 3/5 attack on each armor piece 0/5 devastation on each armor piece Tonfa is perfect. Exactly as you have it Exactly all the weapons and armors yes. But as built. I’m doing little to no damage. I’m not dying. But boss fights take a fucking life time. Can someone shed light on this for me? I know it’s not complete but I’m not even getting half the numbers.
It's probably that your scaling stats aren't as high as his or you didn't change the scalings on the weapon to be dual scaled with constitution & courage

Demon Horde isn't even needed and doesn't affect damage. I only use it because it's very light for a heavy set. So I'd suggest using a medium armor set in place of it so you can keep B agility
I use this build and updated to patch 1.11 today.Active skill damage is now 8%. They nerfed Honda clan stat bonus for active skill damage to +4%. Also what stats do you recommend to invest further in(for this build)for the new level 400 cap?

You can use literally anything as Demon isn't essential the build, I only use it because its so light for a heavy set. So I'd recommend using medium armor so you can stay in B agility rating

good video but I wish u mentioned the modifiers u use for ur wep skills, like masterful slice, high devastation, etc.
I'd actually recommend adding a Purity tonfa for ki pulse while blocking then into Pulverize. Purity feels like it was designed for tonfas.
I played with the scythe the whole game. Its so hard to pickup other weapons. Goes to show how deep the combat is in nioh 2
or that you are unable to adapt :P
