@@TheBinklemNetwork I wouldn't call that green either dark or subtle. It's midrange at most. Dark and subtle would be forest greens. Forest green is an upper-class color; olive drab is a lower-class color, at least in the US. Some greens are associated with criminality and dishonesty. Green is my favorite color range, but it pays to be aware. Best idea that I ever heard: take note of the colors used in upper class clothing and stick to them as closely as possible. That way, you avoid unfortunate associations. I try to be as conservative as possible in my color choices because I was raised in a working-class town, so my color sense isn't upper class (to say the least). Back in the 1970s and 1980s, John T. Molloy did a good deal of research on color (Dress for Success) and not much has changed since then. Look at photos of the presidents or of the British royal family then and now; they are interchangeable as far as clothing colors.

    • @gigiis526

@@edennis8578 Depends how you define "upper class". Ive met some very wealthy people that didnt have any class whatsoever . Ive met poor people that outclassed the richest ! Most of my closet are blues, which is not just because it's a color I love, but one that I think suits me. I've got brown hair and brown eyes, and blue and brown make a really striking match color wise. It's no surprise I like to integrate a lot of brown into my style too, often with the blues, which creates a nice contrast that just works for me, and feels very reminiscent of 70s era color matching more than anything while still being timeless.

I agree that brown is underrated. I used to hate it growing up. As a teen my favorite colors were red and black, but nowadays I'm the most drawn to brown and blue. I feel more confident wearing those colors but in a soohing way instead of a bold, attention-seeking way. Your descriptions of blue, brown and also green do fit me very well.
I wish you had covered turqoise/teal as well though! It's an odd color that's rarely ever seen. I try to incorporate it into my outfits sometimes. Although I don't find much use for my turqoise pants lol, but my scarf that has a checkered mix of wine red and teal comes to much more use. It seems to be a controversial color that many people have a difficult time with, as though they're trying to decide whether it's blue or green. But I think it looks great with wine red, pink (as you said), yellow, black and brown.
Also your description of orange was so spot on for my best friend that I laughed out loud, remembering how much I've cringed over the bright orange down jacket they bought a few years ago.

I often wear blue or pink dress shirts, even when wearing a jacket or complete suit. It's quite different, as most businessmen here in Japan wear only pure white shirts with navy or black suit: the "salaryman uniform." They will wear the exact same combination every day, all day. Their ties are usually muted and boring, too, and pocket squares and boutonnieres don't exist. Doing what I can to teach them they can do better!

While it is true that black can be overrated, over the years I have come to the conclusion that Gentleman's Gazette consistently underrates black. Black is powerful. That's why it remains the most prominent color in the most formal dress codes: White Tie, Black Tie, Morning Dress. Of course there are more and less effective ways to wear black, and "just wear black" is certainly an over-simplification. But if it fits your personality, I say embrace it. I wore a lot of black in my younger years, but branched away from it largely from what I learned here, at the Gentleman's Gazette. But now that I know the rules, I am ready to break them. Don't wear t-shirts with graphics on them, or clothes with rips, holes, or stains. Don't wear sandals. Stick to neutral colors if possible. If you are going to court for a serious charge, wear a conservative suit, if possible. Navy blue, if possible. In other words, look as wholesome and traditional as you can. Some people will tell you to be yourself, but they aren't your friends. Judges are almost universally jerks, so don't give them a reason.

I promise you, all those in attendance will be impressed by the daring statement such an ensemble presents, especially if you have the physique to match. If you find the stringer to be too revealing, it can always be swapped for an oversized Hawaiian shirt unbuttoned to just above the navel. Cheers!

Please do a video on some of the more 'different' suits. There's this brand advertising on Facebook called 'French Crown', and they try to sell normal style suits, but also these suits with jackets more suited to a bellboy or villain in a dystopian corporate dictatorship (single breasted with a row of buttons going diagonally from the lower left waist to the upper right shoulder). I am extremely skeptical of their quality, especially given this 'style' which I do not think has ever been IN style before, and it strikes me as one of these Facebook pop-up brands where they sell a bunch of junk, and then disappear a few weeks later.
Encountered one of these selling 'quality watches' and you only pay shipping. Spent four dollars (because what was there to lose), and sure enough, the watch was absolute garbage.

Wait! What's negative about introversion? There's nothing wrong about not being loud and in-your-face.
But now I know why purple is my favourite color.
also interesting. I prefered black and red when I was yunger, but now gravitate towards brown and dark-gray.

I love this Channel, I rediscover it every so often and spend ages watching (it’s 5AM right now) it gives me lots of inspiration and inspires me. I was wondering how you came up with the name of your shop, did you just come up with something that sounded fancy or does it have a cool specific meaning?
