I suspect you have issues with the crackle pastes because you're missing a step: before applying it, cover the surface with varnish, PVA glue or something on those lines. It sticks in better.
@@ThePickleJar thanks man! Unfortunately Im in canada, not the UK. I could swear you guys get all the cooler miniature and modelling stuff over there lol
Very nice effect, thanks for sharing.
My pleasure
Thank you , Mr Josh Pickle .
My pleasure :)
love the crackle effect !
Thank you!!
Really great video, my brother! The basing looks fantastic! Also, painting those white lions gives the base that perfect touch!

haha, yep! Gotta add those lions! Cheers buddy, really happy with how this one turned out.
Cracking base Josh!!! Great tutorial with lots of potential and customisation. Appreciate the great content 👍🏼
Thanks buddy!
Love Skaven! Superb base ideas
Thanks very much :)
This is sick. Nice work. Have a tutorial on your skaven team by any chance. They look great
Its amazing how you can spend just as much time on a base as the actual figure now!
This is very true
if you put a layer of PVA glue before you put on the mordant earth, it'll help create bigger cracks with less mordant earth
I’ll have to try that!
Great stuff mate, that base came out fantastic. The whole team on those bases is gonna look awesome 😃👍🏼
Thanks bud! I’m really happy with them, just need to crack on and get the rest done now

Aye, I’ve done stuff like that in the past. I did put a varnish down when I did this one I just forgot to film it 🤦♂️
Superb base . Like it ! Congrats from a new subscriber .
Thank you very much! Welcome to the channel :)
fantastic bases. I didnt understand with what you sprayed them though. What's it called?
Also how easy is it to glue miniatures after? Super glue?
I sprayed the base with the geek gaming scenics matt sealant, just to keep it solid when used. Drill and pin/super glue to attach models :)
Nice one dude. Not gonna do a skaven army but has given me an idea fro something else
Ooooh, I'm intrigued
That black over green looks great mate. Maybe this is a stupid question but how do you get the skaven off the old bases?
They are only stuck on with super glue so they popped off easy enough
Nice work bud. Very nice indeed.
Thank you!!
Where do you get those tools, are those GW?
Yeah they are old GW sculpting tools, but you can get similar stuff for £2 from The Works if you’re in the UK

If you're going to cover the base with texture paste in the first step, isn't sanding the texture off a huge waste of time?
It was more so that when you saw the green through the cracks, you didn't see that bobbly texture from the base.
