Thank you for this video. My old violin teacher kept making me play the same set of songs for MONTHS, and I lost my motivation to practice. Thanks to you, my love for violin is returning :)
thank you so much for your suggestions. .... I'm also practising same music all time..... could you please suggest me exercise routine and song practice schedule. ....
You know, here in Greece we learn the violin by pressing all the fingers the same time. I mean that if you have to press for example the third finger on a string, you have to press the previous two simultaneously
Thanks Laura, so happy to hear you're enjoying my emails. It helps a lot to receive kind comments like yours for me too, to keep motivated to create videos & practice motivation emails :D
Laura Hope hey can please anyone provide me with music sheet of Adagio Quasi un poco adante by Beethoven i really need it ? Or can you do a tutorial with this piece of music ?
There aren't really any violin teachers anywhere near where I live, (closest one I can find is a 2 hour one-way drive away) so I mostly self teach. Your videos are a huge help!
Glad to hear that my violin videos are a huge help to you Hummingbird 176! 😊 Also 🤔 a solution regarding not having any violin teachers near where you live, you are always welcome to check out my online violin academy: m.violinspiration.com/join-us/
Thank you Julia, love you. Ive been playing for 5 months. (Im 28 years old btw): I practice a lot yet I cannot vibrate any string, my right hand and my bow still shaking. The reason that I didnt give up trying is you, thanks Jules.
Gökay Sarı Thank you so much for sharing, really happy to hear the site helps you to keep motivated. You are not alone struggling with vibrato, most violinists struggle to learn this for years. Keep up the good practice and looking forward to hear how you are progressing in the future :)
Thanks for this video. I have been playing for almost 3 months now, and I love it. I subscribed to your channel today because the tips and advice you give are practical and great for newbies (and very inspirational). I’ve already improved on my practicing. 😊
Thank you for this video!! I found your channel from looking up "all violin techniques" (will use that to help my learning) and that's how I got here!! I've been completely frustrated with the violin despite wanting to continue it. Hopefully this will keep encouraging me through my violin difficulties! :) Homework for me: 1. Practicing too quickly = Practicing your mistakes-> Change up your rhythm instead! 2. Practicing the same pieces over and over again = multiplies mistakes -> Only practice the hardest parts before playing the whole song (the piece that challenges you! 3. Inconsistency in your practice routine -> What is holding me back from practicing + being more consistent? Aka Give myself actual goals before practicing, haha. Thank you again! and have a good day!
I have a very busy life, with 3 kids etc so that’s why i tell my self: i practice for at least 20 minutes a day. When it get well and there is more time i will practice more minutes. But i didn’t press myself to do it every day on the same time but i said to myself i do it in the evening. So 1 day it will be at 18:45 for example and another day it will be 19:30 and that’s okay for me. 🤗
omg you are awesome and the cutest thing!! I just started playing the violin...like just learned the A scale...well...sort of, but thankfully I found your videos!! I've been watching them and laughing (at your jokes, not at you) and look forward to submerging myself in the process of learning. Thanks for being there!

I am a autodidact beginner on violin and solfege (3 months) and I chose Canon in D to work for the month of August ! Thank you very much for your pedagogy, your passion and your videos !! Bye
Awesome goal to work on Canon in D this month - you are definitely challenging yourself and that's great! Let me know if you've learned the song. Wish you all the best :)
Great video! I can't progress and I exactly do all of those mistakes! You're right, TIME TO PRACTICE NOW!!! (I've never been so excited to do scales!!!)
Hello, your videos are really helpful. I am hoping to get a better sounding violin and would appreciate it if you could suggest a average priced one. Thank you
l am a 10 year old who started playing violin 6 months ago my teacher made me play the same piece those 6 months l did not know what to do but of course you helped ma out a lot thank you , thank you , thank you
What do you suggest for a single mum with a full schedule and full time job and no luthiers or face to face teachers? I love to practice I don't know why some people are bothered by practice! The problem is that it's not consistent..when I can't practice I do dexterity exercises or just read sth about music or do a bit of theory and such or even sing along the piece and circle my mistakes.
HI Ruba, it sounds really good that you are motivated to practice! Do I understand correctly that you feel like you're not being as consistent with your practice as you'd like to? I might make a video on this topic :)
Violinspiration - Violin Lessons yes you understood me well. I practice five days a week almost two hrs for each day..but sometimes I do three hours and won't practice for three days, it's not because I don't want to its because I really can't 😢
hey! hope you are doing good... I am definitely going to work on the mistakes and I love to receive your emails they motivate me a lot. keep making the good stuff thanks a lot again
I got my violin last week and have been attempting to play jingle bells in preparation for Christmas. It's going quite alright, there's just one part I'm struggling with a bit and need to practice a bit more. I've been trying to do some position practice too, playing all the notes from the first and second position, but I've been struggling to reach the G string, which is making my wrist sore. Holding the violin pointing straight ahead isn't giving me enough room to move around the neck of the violin and causes my arm to touch my body, which often causes me to rest my arm against my body. I also don't have enough room to reach the G string. I was wondering if it would my alright to have the scroll of the violin point slightly more to the left, which would give me a bit more room for manoeuvring my arm and would make my playing a lot less tense. I'm wondering whether making it point more to the left would cause new problems or if it's just fine to play like that.
Video breakdown : The thumbnail looks like you're saving your violin from being stolen 😜 The passing time effects are funny The tips help and I'll try and implement them Is it just me or Julia with those spectacles looks like that high school librarian 😜(no offence)
What seriously ? The spectacles look good on you but the way you were holding them made you look like a librarian, I'd never have guessed that you were one in real life. BTW, did you eat my email on meditation ?
Yes I ate it and now it's gone. 😂Yes I read it, this week I'm rather busy but I do want to create a tutorial about it as soon as I have time to record one
Haha that part of twinkle-twinkle must be how HELL is to violinists. Can you imagine having to play this crap for the whole eternity? I really HATE twinkle-twinkle!!!
I subscribed to receive your emails and was (heartbreak hotel) when I had yet to receive any. You were under my spam! 😒☹. All fixed and out of there, let the emails wash over me. Thank You!

I have played for 11 years came to look for inspiration. I practice 4 hours everyday. Im really sad to see that she does not know anyfuckingthing and many people are falling for it.
Wow, that comment feels harsh! This is a TH-cam channel for beginners, it makes sense that it doesn't appeal to you after 10 years of playing but why not share in a kinder way that this isn't right for YOU instead of saying everything I do is crap in general? ;)
Thank you for this video. My old violin teacher kept making me play the same set of songs for MONTHS, and I lost my motivation to practice. Thanks to you, my love for violin is returning :)

You know, here in Greece we learn the violin by pressing all the fingers the same time. I mean that if you have to press for example the third finger on a string, you have to press the previous two simultaneously
Does this hinder your ability to play from say, fourth finger E to C? sometimes I notice I accidentally play a D in between (oops)

I think you should search on how to properly hold the violin and proper finger placements.😉
