My top two favorite moments in the franchise are without a doubt when Brackett sees Annie dead in the Director's Cut of Rob Zombie's Halloween II. It's a very powerful moment brought together by Brad Dourif's acting, the music, and flash backs to a young Annie (Danielle Harris).
The other being the conclusion to the original film where we hear Michael breathing as shots of where he's been are showing on screen.

An underrated moment is Brackett finding Annie's body in RZ's H2 in the director's cut. I don't like the movie but that moment is fantastic. Another underrated moment is the laundry chute scene in H5. That one was a bona fide butthole clincher when I watched the movie growing up.

My top moment of the whole franchise, but it more like the ending of Halloween 2 (1981), from when the chase scene starts and it ends with Michael collapse to the ground being burned alive. Totally agree with all of these. I might shuffle the ranking for a few up and down a little, but you nailed it. Great job as always, Cody. One scene that I do like (and don't hate me for it, because it was from a godawful "Halloween" film) is the scene in Part Five when Michael is looking at Loomis as he talks. Loomis mentions Jaime, and Michael looks upstairs, but turns his head back to Loomis when he says she isn't there. For whatever reason, that scene always resonates with me.
Cody, I know I am not a Patreon (I do plan to become one this holiday season when I have a little more spending money) but I have to say that I am happy that you are now a full time TH-camr. I am loving the content, enjoying getting to see new stuff a lot more often, and I hope that you and your family have a wonderful holiday season. Can't wait for the 31 on 31!!!

    4. Kills, Michael emerging from Laurie's gun safe/rack
    5. Kills, Michael and Tommy face to face (Tommy's line from 78, "you can't kill the boogeyman")
    6. H3, Robot ripping off head.
    7. 81, Michael holds up nurse with scalpel
    8. Kills, Michael testing knives
    9. 78, Michael lifting up his upper body behind Laurie. The iconic sit up
    10. 78, the final shot/shots of the film. Everywhere Michael was and all you hear is his breathing. Just like that the evil has disappeared.

Knifing the nurse with one arm in Halloween 2 1981 is my favorite. It demonstrates his strength like you said but it also is an absolute blast off to one of the scariest chase scenes in the movies. Pure dread. The shoes falling off, and the music that follows right as she’s dropped!

Ngl scariest moments in the franchise was the scene in the OG where Michael was slowly chasing Laurie as she is going from house to house tryna get some one to help and yelling for tommy as Michael slowly creeps up

I absolutely love remembering watching Halloween 1978 when I was a small child. It was so eerie when Michael put the sheet over himself & put Bob's glasses over top. We all knew Bob was sticking to the door & that was the Boogie man under that sheet. To watch Linda turn her back on him & that piano starts as he starts stalking toward her........Priceless!

Don’t forget about Laurie Strode’s dream/vision/panic-attack in Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2. (2009) That scene just phenomenally does a fantastic job at exploring the madness and terror of Laurie Strode that she suffered from that Halloween night. It captures every, her descent into hatred towards Annie, her fears of Michael Myer’s taking over her. Just phenomenally shot, edited. Everything.

Totally agree with you on H2O Cody. Easily the best ending and I refuse to acknowledge the ret con.
Aside from the awesome monologues in the first movie, I love the reveal when Laurie first finds her friends but especially Annie-the slow pan with Judith Myers’ headstone as that awesome score plays….chills to this day

My favorite is definitely the zombie sit up after Laurie stabs Michael in the eye with the hanger. You think he’s down and out and she’s safe but then he lifts his torso up without lifting his legs, tilts his head towards the camera and the creepy piano begins to play. So badass

Cool video! I agree with your picks, all are good moments. I also really love the H20 ending, it was so badass. The original ending is so perfect, such a cool way to end a slasher. I also like the Halloween 4 ending, the flashback scenes in Kills and the fight with Laurie and Michael in H20.

12:09 It was Sartain's pen knife that he used to stab Hawkins. After stamping Sartain's head in Michael cut one of the cop's throats and stuck Sartain's knife in his head for good measure and cut the other's head off and made it a sick pumpkin carving.

This is a great list topic. I'm definitely interested in the next video in this line. Only thing I'll say here is that, where your #9 is concerned, the opening of the original 1978 film is also a long tracking shot, and one of the greatest in cinema history. Some of my favorite moments from the franchise are as follows:
    - The cold open from Halloween H20: the atmosphere, the score, the tension, the return of Marion Chambers, the look of the Shape, the kills. Wonderfully done and all punctuated by a gnarly opening credits montage. Just eerie as all hell.
    - The opening of the original 1978 Halloween: some of the greatest camera work and production value in cinema history. Iconic. Classic. Where it all began.
    - Nurse Janet finds Dr. Mixter / Death of Nurse Janet (Halloween II (1981)): one of the eeriest scenes in a horror film. The lighting, the score, the camera work, and more credit to Dick Warlock's incomparable portrayal of the Shape. Still gives me chills to this day.
    - Mrs. Blankenship tells the story of Halloween (Halloween/Curse): another example of great camera work and creepy atmosphere. The old lady at the boarding house Tommy stays in tells Kara and Danny the story of Halloween/Samhain, set to a montage of moments from the Barry Simms show in Haddonfield. It was also used in the trailer for this film.
    - The 1978/Hawkins' memories scenes from Halloween Kills: while what they contribute to the story is overall less than desirable to me, the reproduction of 1978 Haddonfield is second to none in terms of the measures taken to ensure that kind of authenticity. Those scenes look like they came straight out of the original film.
