    Truth....Back in my 20’s, I lived in Brooklyn....in a luxury high-rise building. When I returned home from work around 2:30-3:00 a time when very few people were home.....I went to the incinerator room to throw away some trash.....OMG...I got LOCKED into the incinerator room.....while they were BURNING THE TRASH....I would have died in there....Accept for an AMAZIMG LIFE SAVING MIRACLE. A very elderly man who lived way down the hall ...heard me SCREAMIMG AND BANGING FURIOUSLY AT THE TOP OF MY LUNG ON THIS HEAVY METAL DOOR .....I really don’t know how he heard me because he could barely hear anything but that day...he saved my life! ?.. It was a TRUE MIRACLE and I believe it was PSYCHIC COMMUNICATION FOR SURE....I treated that man like gold from that day forward...as he was my SAVIOR....God Bless him and may he Rest In Peace 🙏🙏🙏🕊✨❤️💖❤️

    I've only seen about 20 Episode's so far. I never heard of this Show to be honest. Thanks to TH-cam and wonderful People who share these videos I came across this amazing Show.
    This One is my favorite so far. All time of any Show.
    I could feel Her Anxiety Building and thought "What WOULD I do in that Situation"? I give Credit to the Writers and everyone behind the scenes, the Actress in this was truly amazing as well as beautiful. It takes a Special Actor/Actress to make you feel the emotions that their character is going through. She did that so well. Bravo!! 👏🎭👍👍
    Thank you for sharing this Wonderful Episode.

      It was so sweet and charming the way John kisses her hand. You certainly wouldn't be able to do that today. If it were to happen on a modern TV show, it'd be the talk of the social media town everywhere!

      169 E Hind St, Honolulu is currently estimated to be worth almost a million and a half dollars! I couldn't find any property records that went far enough back to list Margaret North as an owner. Honolulu is protected from the full brunt of tidal waves caused by Chilean earthquakes by the other islands in the chain, unlike Hilo on the big island of Hawaii.

      That's perfectly fine to say to someone in a non serious situation but never especially to a disabled person when it is a life or death situation. And even if they are the one to say that, you tell them you want them to call you to let you know they are okay. Really, the husband should have called the neighbor and asked them to watch after his wife even over her objections. Then he would have been able to call the neighbor to see if his wife had been taken care of. I know, by and large, people want to and will help but relatives of disabled persons should never trust that one or more neighbors will help or have helped in a situation such as this. Always call them to make sure your loved one has been taken care of.

    I saw this episode within a few years of when it was first broadcast. Having lived through repeated tsunami warnings in Hawaii at that time, I was annoyed at the phony matter-of-fact radio announcements that happen in this show ("You have 5 minutes to evacuate!"), which sounded nothing like the real radio broadcasts during such events. Then in the early 1970s, while looking at microfilmed newspapers from this actual event in 1960, I discovered the newspaper article that this show was based on. It had been written by Bob Krauss from the Honolulu Advertiser, and that radio announcement was quoted from the article.

    Her husband should have done 2 things for her. 1- Build a ramp on the porch for she could get the chair down. She could not get out, there could have been a fire, a break in, she could have gotten hurt. 2 - gotten her a big well trained dog to protect her. Most dogs would have alerted somebody that she was there.
    This was a real story and it's strange he didn't think of any of those things.

    • @discobear5752
      @discobear5752 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @ 5:28 "We just moved in." Now you know why there was no ramp. There really is a 169 E Hind St, Honolulu and it's close to the ocean. Now valued at over a million dollars, it was built in 1949. Was it flooded in 1960 from a tsunami? I have my doubts. I found news reports of Hilo being hit by the tsunami, but nothing about Honolulu. Still, she may have been found by the hard of hearing ex-naval officer and "rescued" from a threat which never was realized.

    • @nobodyuknow6337
      @nobodyuknow6337 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ramp would only have taken a short time especially if he had friends helping. A couple of secured planks would have been something. My nephew had a stroke when he was just a child and could not walk well for a long time. My brother built a complete access ramp for him in no time.
      Ah well, people put things off. As for HIlo or Honolulu being hit, they may have changed the location for whatever reasons.

      nobody Uknow I definitely see your point. But they did just move in.
      I was born in 1971 (46 yrs young now) the first thing that came to my mind was a ramp as you stated. Then I thought "This was a different time. Did they put ramps in at House's"?
      I am truly interested. Growing up I don't remember seeing any in our neighborhood. As I thought more about the Ramps I remember it not being too long ago when we didn't have ramps at Restaurants, Doctor's Office's, Malls, Movie Theaters etc.
      We have honestly come along way. I'm truly Thankful for these changes. My Mom needs a Wheelchair and she has a favorite Park (since she was a Child herself) I bring her to feed the ducks (she used to bring my brother and I as Children). The park put in Ramps years ago because of this I can still give her this Gift.
      Sorry I know I got off track. I am truly curious when they first started putting in ramps at homes.
      Sincerely,
      Stacy from Massachusetts 🍂🍁🍃

      TruthSeeker08, the American with Disabilities Act was passed in 1990. Title III of the act included specifications that all new and existing public accommodations had to meet. Ramps became commonplace in public facilities as a result of the act. I don't remember seeing them before, except at places where there would be frequent wheelchair traffic (e.g. nursing homes). If you look at the actual house on Google maps street view (169 E Hind St, Honolulu) , it's a single story home and I can't see where a ramp would be needed, except possibly something to eliminate a bump at a threshold of the entrance to the house.

      I am around your age. I did see ramps for elderly that lived alone. Back then, family was there for each other more, though, and less likely for elderly and disabled to be alone. Most ramps I saw were in areas where houses were more set apart.
      But two things about what I originally said. It would just have been good sense on the husbands part to build a ramp OR get a big dog. Even though dogs for the disabled didn't become an official thing (except seeing eye dogs) there is a history of dogs saving disabled owners. It wasn't uncommon for people to get independent disabled family members big dogs with only basic obedience training. They relied on the dogs instincts and love to do the rest.
      If nothing else, they could have sent the dog out with a note. People didn't shoot dogs on sight like these days, especially if it approached them wagging it's tail.
      I guess I just figured her husband should have taken some *common sense* steps to make sure his wife was safe.

The only difference is, it was these same Ghost Stories that have given way for the ghost stories of today. There are some of us who have experienced the supernatural. People who say things like " utter nonsense " are usually the ones who have experienced a paranormal event. But, they're so afraid that they choose to convince themselves that the event never happened and so decide to say " utter nonsense " !

    • @hallowedbethynameyahuah7705
      @hallowedbethynameyahuah7705 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well done. Also, people who know such things definitely exist will claim to people it doesn't, in hope to disempower them, in order to be able to take advantage of such things themselves, secretly, to give them leverage over others. In groups, cults, individually, whatever.
      If we don't believe it's possible that we can shoot a ball in a hoop, we likely can not.
      My dad relentlessly drills into anyone who talks about any such thing, that it's imaginary, when I know full well that he knows paranormal events exist and he takes advantage of it constantly, yet he wants to be the only one, you see? He likely didn't come up with that idea all by himself, either.
      A truly good athlete doesn't have to drag other players down in order to win. We have to deal with lots of coveting scum here on Earth.
      There's also, I believe though it's probably best I shouldn't lol, empower it, there's also bad paranormal stuff put in place, in hope to doom those who start to explore it, to covet it further. Imagine how many people who work/ed in mental institutions are savvy to this and the terrible advantage it gives in covering up their doings, take down potential enemies who may reveal their misdoings.
      There's a hilarious aspect to this, though. They think God doesn't know everything.

    It diminishes the impact of this show a bit when you know about the actual event. As stated at the start of the program, this was part of a multi-day catastrophe in Chile which included multiple major earthquakes, the largest of which was the biggest earthquake ever recorded, now calculated to have been a 9.5. The tsunami that caused tremendous damage in Hilo, Hawaii and killed 61 people happened just after 1 am on May 23, 1960. A few days later, another Chile earthquake was assumed to have also generated a tsunami and for some reason the warning was issued just minutes before it was supposed to hit. With people on edge from the disaster of a few days earlier, there was near-panic, and that's what this dramatization shows. However...there was no large tsunami this time. The miraculous rescue of this woman actually wasn't really necessary because nothing ended up happening. Of course they don't mention that in the show!

      @marywhittaker572 ปีที่แล้ว

      "Nothing ended up happening" is also part of the miraculous rescue. The first part of the rescue is the woman being heard, helped up off the ground, comforted in knowing she was now safe, and driven away from the sea shore. Commander Powell hearing the crippled woman's soft pleas for help, in spite of his deafness, is also miracle. that saved his life. They wouldn't have had enough time to get to higher ground in 5 minutes or less. God's miracle stopped the tsunami to save them and others on the island. The total of 10 minutes' evacuation time would not have allowed anyone to get away.
